I had lunch and chose from the daily menu. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was very nice. It may be a little more expensive than regular lunch specials, but it's worth it.

I was only in the restaurant... but I really liked it there... didn't eat anything... drank a bottle of wine... had a nice evening and nice conversation.. Location fits

The first drink is usually not a problem But once you have this you are no longer noticed. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food.

We had dinner there with friends during the week and almost every table was occupied. I always think that's a good sign and we weren't disappointed. Good service and very tasty food. Sure, the prices are a little more expensive, but the quality was good and I'm happy to pay that.

Beautifully located restaurant with a great menu and a brilliant wine list! There were four of us and we could hardly decide which of the great sounding wines to choose. Our waitress's recommendation finally convinced us and we didn't regret it. The wine recommendations that followed also demonstrated taste and competence. Again... awesome! The same applies to the pizza. We have rarely been able to enjoy such excellent pizza. That same evening we made a reservation to visit again.

We reserved a table for our company's final dinner with enough notice. There were 12 people in total, which is nothing unusual. The food was ordered all a menu. The restaurant was completely full and, despite known reservations and the Christmas season, there was very little service staff. Long waiting times for drinks, the food was ordered together and everything except the pizzas came at the same time. The two pizzas arrived about 25 minutes later, so everyone was already finished eating. The prices are very high and simply too high for the service. We left after about 3 hours full, but not really satisfied. Unfortunately it left a small aftertaste in our minds and will no longer be attended for such occasions or privately.

I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful evening we spent with you. The performance was extremely entertaining and funny, the actors delivered impressive performances. The food was also excellent and the service was excellent. We will definitely be there again for the next piece. We were particularly fascinated by the Bollard Evening Killer.

We stopped here for a drink. I ordered a white wine. The waiter listed 3 varieties, I chose 0.2 Riesling. The shock came when we got the bill... over €11.60 for a solid Riesling... that was the last wine and the last visit here 😄

I was a guest today with my wife. We were spontaneously allowed to choose a table at lunchtime. The atmosphere is very cozy with conservative and modern elements. In my opinion it was successful. The service was good. The prices are high. These can actually only be justified through good product reference and fair remuneration. To eat: Pizza - very tasty. Great dough. Here you can see real craftsmanship. Great level! Advocado Bruscetta - aromatic baguette with great Advicadocrem. Well done Beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese - the caramelized cheese was good, lamb's lettuce was great quality without any wilt, it sounded better than it tasted. Beetroot risotto: was unfortunately a failure in terms of craftsmanship for our taste (at a price of €22). It was clearly too grainy and had a floury mouthfeel. The creaminess of a risotto was missing here. You can see that the restaurant attaches great importance to good raw materials. With small, slight errors and a hefty price, it's still worth a visit.

Had a business meeting with 8 colleagues and a guest this afternoon. Local was about 65% full. We waited well over an hour for our food and one of us even had to take the food with us. It was said that the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed today. Maybe, but it's not of interest, especially if you're traveling on business and have other appointments coming up. As compensation we were offered some pizza bread and some sweets for the bedside table, which was supposed to be on the house but was ultimately on the bill. Sorry, something like that doesn't work for me and as a consequence I won't go to this location with colleagues or business partners, especially privately!

We went to the crime dinner today. Price per person approx. 100 euros. The worst meal we've ever had at Waldhorn. Add salt to the soup, boiled pasta from the bag as the main course, mixed vegetables in 0.3mm cubes as a side dish. It didn't taste good, not even to the other people at the table. Nobody could believe their eyes. Dessert: cheap vanilla ice cream on crumbled cookies 🍪. Embarrassing for us compared to our 6 friends! We are extremely disappointed! This is honest and constructive criticism. But that's not possible, dear French horn.

I couldn't travel because of illness. I sent an email the day before asking for a voucher for a later arrival or for clarification. The booking was made via Booking.com and could only have been canceled with 100% cancellation costs. Hence the email to the hotel and the hope for at least a partial voucher. Unfortunately, the hotel only referred people to Booking.com and was not at all accommodating. Conclusion: With a partial voucher I would have made up for the trip and topped up the remaining amount. This way the hotel could have had more revenue and certainly a better rating.

We were just here for something to eat. Service was very accommodating. What was also nice to observe was how child-friendly it was. In this case at the next table. There was also spontaneity when it came to finding a place for the stroller. Reservation (online) within seconds. And confirmed straight away. The food was very tasty and everything was prepared as requested. The price was absolutely reasonable, but that was irrelevant since we paid with vouchers.

Just great! Both hotel and restaurant! Very high level of hospitality and friendliness. As hikers from HW1, we took the train from Owen to Kirchheim/T to stay overnight in the Waldhorn - the best decision. The rooms are nice and the food is great! The entire team is friendly, accommodating and you feel very welcome from the first moment. Thanks for the hospitality.

Rooms are very clean, but the style is a bit old. Hence the one star deduction. The restaurant, on the other hand, is incredibly good, both the service and the food. Highly recommend the pizza, there are unusual variations.

We went to the restaurant for dinner today and everything tasted good, especially the colorful and rich side salad. But a pizza, a side salad and a shandy (0.4l) and a beer for 36 euros, that's pretty steep. I think the arc is a bit overstretched.

Bad service. We sat at the table for 15 minutes and the waiters walked past several times without paying any attention. Then they got up and left. Not very busy and lots of waiters - this service is more than bad.

I had dinner with a business partner on site this evening. The pizza was really great even if it wasn't huge. However, the young colleague who served us was unfortunately not necessarily friendly and accommodating. If you order another beer before eating and unfortunately it doesn't come until 25 minutes after you ordered and you've already finished eating by then and you have to ask again, that's extremely inconvenient. In addition, you don't want to hear lazy excuses, but rather a short apology and I'll look after it shortly. There wasn't even a thank you for the tip that was given anyway! It's a shame about the great location if the service isn't right. For 2 pizzas with 4 beers, a good €62 is quite a bit and you can expect friendly service in return!

Restaurant with exorbitant prices

I had reserved a quiet table and asked for English menu cards. We were assigned a table in the middle, which I declined. English menus are currently out of date, the waitress offered us the menu online. Various selected dishes had to be requested from the kitchen, were returned as ok, but were then taken back. Kitchen says yes, boss says no? Same thing with dessert. The food itself was good, the service really tried to deal with this chaos in a friendly manner. It wasn't the best picture for me yesterday with foreign business guests and a German invitation.

I ate a pizza with buffalo mozzarella - it was super tasty!!!! It's worth coming here for that alone

Price performance ratio is not right, especially in the restaurant too expensive, for example simple fries with parmesan crumbs around 12 euros

I really can't understand how a restaurant with such a beautiful location and atmosphere can be so mediocre. I've tried various dishes and it was never really good, but never really bad either. I wouldn't recommend the shop to anyone looking for good food. But if you are looking for a means to an end to meet up with acquaintances/friends in a good atmosphere, this is the right place. I actually try to avoid visiting this restaurant, but I keep coming back because someone has somehow sat down in the wood and fire again and asks me if I would like to join them.

Celebrated my 60th birthday there. And I decided on the breakfast buffet for 7 people, I was surprised at how varied the buffet was and everything was super fresh, the service was also excellent and the service staff was very attentive, I can only recommend that everyone give this a try, and the price/performance ratio is also normal Frame. Always my pleasure. 😉

We (56m 46f, 10f) were only on a flying visit to Kirchheim and enjoyed the beautiful city at the end of a short vacation in Göppingen and the surrounding area. We were attracted to HOLZ & FEUER on the market square for dinner, which was already very well attended. The very varied menu made our expectations rise... and also the concern that we would be able to find something for our youngest (the classic schnitzel with fries). But the worries were completely in vain! The veal schnitzel with truffle fries (!) was history in no time. And our adult dishes (no, we didn't have any of the pizzas that the restaurant is actually known for...) were also great. Of course: this is not a run-of-the-mill restaurant and it costs one euro more. But we - all three - were of the opinion that everything was worth the money. A clear thumbs up from us. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again!

The food and drinks are top. Unfortunately, we have noticed several times now that the service is not good. We sat there for a long time with empty drinks, unfortunately no service came in 2 hours and asked if everything was OK or something similar. After we had to call the service over ourselves and order food, the wrong food came and we had to wait again. Every time it was a different operation, which is why the confusion arose. A waitress couldn't exchange a word with us and put the things down without saying a word. It's a real shame for such a beautiful and delicious restaurant.

We had guests and asked for a place where we could have a good chat. That was taken into account. Our foreign guests were given an English menu and were addressed in English by the attentive wait staff. The food was very good. The service was very attentive. Thank you. Gladly again!

The restaurant with a beautiful, large outdoor area is located on the Kirchheim market square in a half-timbered house. With fur pads on the chairs, you can sit comfortably outside behind the glass wind deflectors, even on cooler days. We have visited the "Wood and Fire" several times for years and were mostly satisfied. Today was a sunny, warm April Sunday and we were looking for a place to eat after a strenuous bike ride at 2 p.m. So we chose a shady table; you can park your bikes right there without having to lock anything. You also sit in a curious place. The Augustiner hell is the second best beer after the Augustiner Edelstoff and is served in a harmonious stein. Delicious 😋. The price, however, is very ambitious! For the first time I ordered Maultaschen here, which more than met my expectations. Very well balanced filling, finely chopped vegetables in it, bite and look good, no sausage meat! Plus a good sauce and a salad bouquet and potato salad. That was the weakest position on the plate. All in all great and clear recommendation. The smoked meat and rocket pizza was also excellent. The fior di latte has a fresh taste and the dough is first class. The whole thing was beautifully baked in a wood-fired oven. So completely satisfied, we will do it again.

We hadn't made a reservation, arrived around 6 p.m. and were repeatedly asked about our order by various service staff, even though we had already ordered. The wait for our drinks on the second order was unacceptably long. The bruschetta with mushrooms for €12.90 was disappointing both in terms of price and taste. The dishes that sounded so promising on the menu turned out to be disappointing. The beef tenderloin with broccoli and fried potatoes contained thinly sliced, barely fried potato slices instead of fried potatoes. The prawn risotto was tasteless and contained cold, unsalted prawns. The lemon risotto was too sour and the rice was overcooked. The unsalted and cold prawns were another negative point. In addition, the lamps on the tables were dusty and covered in cobwebs. The tables were close together, making for an uncomfortably noisy room that made normal conversations difficult. Overall the experience was disappointing and unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Vom netten Ambiente angelockt, wollten wir zu dritt den Abend ausklingen lassen. Gegen 20.30 Uhr wurde am Eingang noch mit durchgehend warmer Küche geworben. Wir wollten gerne eine Tasse heißen Ingwertee genießen, jedoch wurde uns wenig charmant mitgeteilt, dass die Kaffeemaschine bereits ausgeschaltet sei und daher keine Heißgetränke mehr angeboten werden könnten. Tief beeindruckt nahmen wir zur Kenntnis, dass es in diesem gehobenen Etablissement offenbar zu banal ist, das Wasser auf konventionelle Weise in einem ordinären Kochtopf zu erhitzen. Oder vielleicht fände sich sogar noch irgendwo im Haus ein Wasserkocher...?

Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Sogar im Winter kann man gut draußen sitzen. Überschaubare Menükarte mit traditionellen regionalen Gerichten. Eine Tischreservierung ist empfehlenswert.

Ein gutes Restaurant, dennoch wie im Sommer als auch im Winter (29/11) muss man leider, über eine Stunde auf das essen warten, und das ist definitiv zuviel. Der Preis ist sehr hoch daher würde ich eine schnellere Bereitstellung des Essens für mehr als nur angemessen halten.

Ich habe eine Gänsekeule mit Rotkraut u Kartoffeln bestellt, leider war die Keule ein Gummiadler ca 30€ nicht wert Mein Bruder bestellte ein Schollenfilet das so klein war das man garnicht satt davon wurde.- schade auch ca 30€ Es war ein richtiger Reinfall Am besten man genießt nur die Atmosphäre und isst nichts!!!

Wir waren hier heute Abend (23.11.23) mit einer Gruppe von Arbeitskollegen essen. Leider lief es gar nicht rund. Von der Bestellung bis zum Essen auf dem Tisch sind fast 2 Stunden vergangen. Das ist leider deutlich zu lang. Im Normalfall wäre ich schon längst gegangen. Ich hatte dann die Kürbis-Käsespätzle. Geschmacklich alles einwandfrei und lecker. Jedoch fand ich die Portion für das Geld viel zu klein. Ich war mit meinem Hauptgericht nach 6 Minuten fertig und habe noch etwas von meinen Kollegen abbekommen. Die junge Dame vom Service war nett, aber heute war es wohl im Service oder der Küche etwas chaotisch. Ich denke es läuft sonst sicherlich besser. Alles in allem war ich aber leider nicht sehr glücklich mir dem heutigen Abend.

Das Restaurant ist zentral gut gelegen, was höchstwahrschienlich die gesalzenen Preise verursacht, jedoch definitiv nicht gerechtfertigt! Preis-Leistungsverhältniss ist hier leider nicht gegeben. Der Service ist ganz OK, wenn man davon absieht, dass eine Familie mit 2 Kindern einfach vergessen wurde - der Tisch rechts kam nach uns und war mit Vorspeise und Hauptgang fertig, als wir erst unsere Hauptspeise erhalten haben. DArufhin (30min nach Bestellung) haben wir daruaf hin gewiesen, da kam nur "ihr Essen kommt gleich" - 15min später war es dann da - da hat der Tisch links bereits nahc 15min seine Vorspeise erhalten. Außerdem wurde ich beim bezhalen ebenfalls vergessen - den Tisch hat sie abgeräumt "sie kommt gleich wieder zum abrechnen", ist dann auf die Terasse raus, hat dort weiterbedient und als sie dann hinter die Theke wollte, ist ihr aufgefallen, dass ich mittlerweile alleine am Tisch sitzte und auf die Rechnung warte. Es kam zu keiner ZEit eine entschuldigung, sie hat bei beiden Malen so getan, als wäre es normal 45 min auf das Essen zu warten und weitere 10 min auf die REchnung. Wir waren übringens bereits um 12:15 Uhr im Restaurant (die öffnen erst um 12:00) und das Lokal war noch sehr leer (Innen 2 Tische belegt und außen 3) Das Essen war auch nicht gerade überragend. Es war gut und schön angerichtet, aber ledier rechtfertigt es nicht den Preis. Vier Häuser weiter zahlt man im durchschnitt 10% weniger und das Essen und der Service ist eindeutig besser

Wir waren im Restaurant essen. Der Service war mega, aber für die Preise war das Essen wirklich nicht lecker.... schlabberige Bratkartoffeln. Angerichtet war das Essen super, nur am Geschmack fehlte es deutlich.
