I was there the day before yesterday and had a truly wonderful evening. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. You can immediately tell that they place great emphasis on quality and taste. I was particularly impressed by the server, Alisa. She was incredibly friendly, warm, and always attentive without being intrusive; such warm service is rare these days. Her attentive service made my visit even more enjoyable and left a wonderful impression. I highly recommend a visit and am already looking forward to coming back. Today's visit to Holz und Feuer was, as so often before, unfortunately a disappointing experience. Aside from the fact that more comfortable seating, even in the outdoor area, should be standard given the exorbitant prices, yet all that's available are still the wobbly, uncomfortable wooden folding chairs (which are at least somewhat more comfortable with fur throws in winter), the service today was simply abysmal. While the menu was brought to the table promptly, we then had to wait a full 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Whether a "Bio Speck" pizza (which is actually a tarte flambée) is really worth €16.90 and a salad with shrimp and octopus €28.90 is a matter of personal opinion. However, what is completely unacceptable in this rather high price range is the absence of service staff. After mulled wine and pizza for two were served, another guest joined us at our table. One would normally expect someone to come and take their order as well. Not so at Holz und Feuer, however. New arrivals seem to be ignored. While the serving board for the pizza was eventually cleared (by which time the glasses of mulled wine were also empty), no one asked if anyone else needed anything, or if the new guest wanted something to eat or drink. We then waited another 30 minutes or so, during which the staff continued to play a game of hide-and-seek with the guests, and finally, frustrated, we asked for the bill. It arrived quite quickly, and even then, no one asked why the "new" guest hadn't ordered anything. At this price point, I simply expect a corresponding level of service. Therefore, this will probably be my last visit to Holz und Feuer, even though the 0.2l mulled wine for €5.90 was quite palatable and the overpriced pizza was actually quite tasty. It's a shame, but that's how you drive customers away.

A DINING EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYONE I recently went out for a traditional Bavarian white sausage breakfast with some friends, something I hadn't done in years. And I really enjoyed it! Of course, it was mainly due to the company, but also to the friendly staff who knew exactly how to prepare this Bavarian dish. I was also very happy with the portion size. By the way, if you like, you can enjoy your meal outside in both summer and winter, and the selection is huge – there's definitely something for everyone. Thank you, I'll gladly come again.

So far, I've only eaten at the restaurant: the food was excellent, the service mediocre. I can't agree with others who say the service is attentive, as there are significant differences between staff. Some servers are genuinely friendly, attentive, and efficient. Others, however, lack these qualities. It wasn't busy, but I recently had to wait 25 minutes for a refill of my beer. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the atmosphere is very cozy, the restrooms are clean, and while the prices are rather high, you do get top quality for many items.

A great place to eat. The Maultaschen salad was delicious. We sat down comfortably and enjoyed our meal. The service was very friendly.

Very tasty and friendly service

Great white sausage breakfast and a delicious breakfast buffet. Fantastic location right on the market square. You can sit comfortably on a fur, and the patio heaters keep it pleasantly warm. Delicious homemade lemonade and great pizzas.

I've been to Holz und Feuer several times now, and I'm always torn. The service and cuisine are truly top-notch – the service is attentive and courteous, the food is delicious, and the menu offers a fantastic selection. Special drinks like aperitifs or beer from a stein round out the successful overall experience. Unfortunately, the value for money tarnishes the overall impression. I'm happy to pay more for good food if the price is right. But a panko-battered shrimp appetizer – served on two slices of toast, with a tiny dollop of miso mayonnaise, five chili rings, and a few lettuce leaves around it – seems significantly overpriced at €19. Similarly, I find €15 for a portion of lamb's lettuce borderline excessive. My wish would be that the portions would be adjusted to reflect the prices, or vice versa. Then I could continue to recommend Holz und Feuer without reservation and with a clear conscience.

Absolutely Wonderful Dinner! We just had an incredible meal at Stadthotel Waldhorn Restaurant. The atmosphere is so cosy and nice, and the food? Wow. It was such a rich, delicious meal—it truly hit the spot and wet our palate! Huge shout-out to the team. The chef was friendly, and all the staff were great. Five stars easily for the hospitality and the good food!

On a beautiful autumn day, we visited Kirchheim unter Teck and found this cozy spot on the market square. The food is really good, the service is very friendly and accommodating, and the Bohnapfel (a kind of apple) is highly recommended. We'll be back.

I was here for lunch with business associates. The restaurant "Holz & Feuer" impresses with delicious food (especially the pizzas) and attentive service. As mentioned in other reviews, the prices are a bit higher.

Conveniently located, with a large (!) outdoor area under umbrellas and friendly staff. The food was excellent, plentiful, and tasty. They could have turned on the heaters (for a fee), but it wasn't necessary. The restrooms are a bit older and clean.

The hotel is definitely worth recommending. It's very centrally located right on the market square in a beautiful, old half-timbered house. The staff was consistently friendly and available to answer any questions. Dinner in the hotel's own restaurant, Holz&Feuer, was excellent. (Personal recommendation: the wood-fired pizzas.) The waiters were also very friendly, smiled a lot, and even shared a joke or two. Breakfast also offered everything you'd expect from a hotel breakfast. We'd be happy to come back.

We've been here several times now and have never been disappointed. A modern restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff, even if it's a bit more expensive, the food here is super delicious, and you can tell it's cooked with a lot of love. The roast beef with onions, corn-fed chicken, and the pasta are super tasty and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll be back.

This restaurant is a real gem in Kirchheim. Outdoor seating is right on the market square and covered in case of rain. The service was attentive and extremely friendly. The pizzas arrived quickly, but you can also enjoy roast beef and schnitzel there. The highlight for us was the Nutella pizza for dessert and the beer from the -20°C chilled stein mug.

I've eaten there many times now, but the last time I was very disappointed. There were several free tables, but a waiter said they were all reserved. Shortly afterward, a woman entered the terrace; another waiter seemed to know her. She also wanted a table and was seated immediately. No reservation. They just gave me a quick, ignorant look and turned away. Unfortunately, I have to say, I don't need a restaurant like this. The selection is extensive. And I can save the recommendation for the future, as we were planning to host a larger celebration there. And by the way, I used to be a restaurateur myself.

If you like Kirchheim, you'll love this place too. The food was great, even if the prices are a bit high. The quality justifies the price, though. Lina was a very attentive server, very caring and accommodating; unfortunately, the same can't be said for the entire staff. Communication within the team wasn't optimal. I can't say anything about the hotel.

The waiters were friendly but overwhelmed. The food was of good quality. However, empty plates weren't cleared away, which I'm not used to from an upscale restaurant. Drinks were, in my opinion, overpriced, but there were special prices that day.

We celebrated my best friend's wedding here on Saturday, and from the venue to the food and service, there was nothing to complain about. I'd especially like to highlight the performance of the lovely Alisa (waiting staff), who made the entire evening simply perfect with her extremely friendly and relaxed manner. Even though it went on until the early hours of the morning, her attentiveness and service were consistently perfect and simply perfect! THANK YOU to the entire team for the outstanding service, which unfortunately is no longer a given these days. We'll definitely be back!!

We were there for breakfast and were unfortunately very disappointed. The rolls, cheese, and cold cuts were partially empty and only refilled upon request. The selection was also rather functional and not up to the restaurant's standards. A shame.

I was on a business trip to Kirchheim unter Teck and stopped here for a quick drink between two meetings. Very friendly and quick service, great beer, and a wonderful view of the market square. Cozy and quaint, simply heavenly.

Reserved a table with guests on the occasion of Mother's Day. The food was very good. However, we had to wait about 1.5 hours for the food, and the drinks we ordered were served slowly and after repeated requests! It's really a shame, especially since the restaurant wasn't necessarily fully booked.

I invited my parents to Mother's Day dinner and reserved the table a week in advance. Upon arrival we were told it would take a little longer today. When we asked what that meant, we were told 30 to 40 minutes. After 75 minutes we complained that my diabetic parents urgently needed something to eat. We were then served a side salad on the house. Unfortunately, after an hour and a half, the food still wasn't there and I asked for the bill as we had a follow-up appointment. As an apology we were only charged 50% for the drinks.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food is very good, but the wine list and the accompanying advice are even better! A pleasure for every wine lover.

I can't say anything about the rooms etc., but €6.40 for an Augustiner half is a disgrace. Even in Munich, I pay less at the Viktualienmarkt.

The modern ambience immediately invites you to feel at home, and the service is really outstanding - friendly, attentive and warm. The menu offers a wide selection, particularly when it comes to wine, and the food is consistently excellent. Whether inside in a cozy atmosphere or outside in the beautifully designed outdoor area - you can eat and drink wonderfully here. In the colder seasons, heaters outside provide pleasant warmth. Not only will you receive excellent service here, but you will also receive competent advice - that's exactly how I imagine perfect service. Tips are welcome here. I'll definitely be back!

Not like before, I only write about the restaurant, not the hotel. Lunch meal for €16.90 consisted of a small blob of mashed potatoes and three very small and rather dry slices of minced meat roll with spinach and imperceptible cheese. The gravy with it was good. In this case the price-performance ratio was not ok. Things used to be different!

Super friendly, competent service, large selection of dishes, including vegetarian, food tastes very good. Thank you for the pleasant lunch break.

Although there were almost 20 of us and we ordered from the menu, the food was of exceptional, good quality and served to everyone at the same time. The service is very friendly and attentive. Nothing was missing. No kit food, everything individually arranged, cooked to perfection and freshly prepared. Absolutely recommended.

Very interesting experience. Untrained service. After 3 minutes we were asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. Champagne ordered, white wine should be served - Comment: But that's what they ordered. Forgot an entire main course. 2 meals served, one missing. We asked after 5 minutes, and the service came after another 5 minutes. “Yes, I forgot your food but now I ordered more in a hurry”. After 25 minutes the salmon comes on the pasta. Comment: Now eat and then choose a drink from the menu. Since we were finished, or rather we left the food that had been served, we were offered the option to pack everything up. Another high light: the note that the vintage of the 2022 bottle of white wine is different than the one sold on the 2019 menu, the comment "yes, I'm not that familiar with wine." Instead of a dinner together for the three of us, a completely ruined evening. The accommodation consisted of the salmon, which came late and went back, 2 times water and the 2 espressos being taken from the 190EUR bill. Sorry but unfortunately we lost a regular guest for years. Tip for free: If you work with untrained assistants in a restaurant with premium prices, at least the boss should be present and check that everything is going well. Professionalism is shown in the correct handling of such situations.

In the middle of town, tasty and good service

I took the time to look at the slightly worse and very poor reviews. In any case, I noticed that the guests who had not had a good experience were all sitting in a very fully booked restaurant. My comment on this is that you can recognize a good/very good restaurant, even if it is full, when you have positive memories of the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the service staff.

We had dinner there with friends during the week and almost every table was occupied. I always think that's a good sign and we weren't disappointed. Good service and very tasty food. Sure, the prices are a little more expensive, but the quality was good and I'm happy to pay that.

Beautifully located restaurant with a great menu and a brilliant wine list! There were four of us and we could hardly decide which of the great sounding wines to choose. Our waitress's recommendation finally convinced us and we didn't regret it. The wine recommendations that followed also demonstrated taste and competence. Again... awesome! The same applies to the pizza. We have rarely been able to enjoy such excellent pizza. That same evening we made a reservation to visit again.

We reserved a table for our company's final dinner with enough notice. There were 12 people in total, which is nothing unusual. The food was ordered all a menu. The restaurant was completely full and, despite known reservations and the Christmas season, there was very little service staff. Long waiting times for drinks, the food was ordered together and everything except the pizzas came at the same time. The two pizzas arrived about 25 minutes later, so everyone was already finished eating. The prices are very high and simply too high for the service. We left after about 3 hours full, but not really satisfied. Unfortunately it left a small aftertaste in our minds and will no longer be attended for such occasions or privately.

I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful evening we spent with you. The performance was extremely entertaining and funny, the actors delivered impressive performances. The food was also excellent and the service was excellent. We will definitely be there again for the next piece. We were particularly fascinated by the Bollard Evening Killer.

We stopped here for a drink. I ordered a white wine. The waiter listed 3 varieties, I chose 0.2 Riesling. The shock came when we got the bill... over €11.60 for a solid Riesling... that was the last wine and the last visit here 😄

I was a guest today with my wife. We were spontaneously allowed to choose a table at lunchtime. The atmosphere is very cozy with conservative and modern elements. In my opinion it was successful. The service was good. The prices are high. These can actually only be justified through good product reference and fair remuneration. To eat: Pizza - very tasty. Great dough. Here you can see real craftsmanship. Great level! Advocado Bruscetta - aromatic baguette with great Advicadocrem. Well done Beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese - the caramelized cheese was good, lamb's lettuce was great quality without any wilt, it sounded better than it tasted. Beetroot risotto: was unfortunately a failure in terms of craftsmanship for our taste (at a price of €22). It was clearly too grainy and had a floury mouthfeel. The creaminess of a risotto was missing here. You can see that the restaurant attaches great importance to good raw materials. With small, slight errors and a hefty price, it's still worth a visit.

Had a business meeting with 8 colleagues and a guest this afternoon. Local was about 65% full. We waited well over an hour for our food and one of us even had to take the food with us. It was said that the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed today. Maybe, but it's not of interest, especially if you're traveling on business and have other appointments coming up. As compensation we were offered some pizza bread and some sweets for the bedside table, which was supposed to be on the house but was ultimately on the bill. Sorry, something like that doesn't work for me and as a consequence I won't go to this location with colleagues or business partners, especially privately!

We went to the crime dinner today. Price per person approx. 100 euros. The worst meal we've ever had at Waldhorn. Add salt to the soup, boiled pasta from the bag as the main course, mixed vegetables in 0.3mm cubes as a side dish. It didn't taste good, not even to the other people at the table. Nobody could believe their eyes. Dessert: cheap vanilla ice cream on crumbled cookies 🍪. Embarrassing for us compared to our 6 friends! We are extremely disappointed! This is honest and constructive criticism. But that's not possible, dear French horn.

See and be seen in 73230 Kirchheim unter Teck. Atmospheric outdoor area, good quality food and drinks. Service unobtrusive. If it weren't for the prices - which are very (!) self-confident for the province - there would be nothing to complain about. I'll be back.

I couldn't travel because of illness. I sent an email the day before asking for a voucher for a later arrival or for clarification. The booking was made via Booking.com and could only have been canceled with 100% cancellation costs. Hence the email to the hotel and the hope for at least a partial voucher. Unfortunately, the hotel only referred people to Booking.com and was not at all accommodating. Conclusion: With a partial voucher I would have made up for the trip and topped up the remaining amount. This way the hotel could have had more revenue and certainly a better rating.

We were just here for something to eat. Service was very accommodating. What was also nice to observe was how child-friendly it was. In this case at the next table. There was also spontaneity when it came to finding a place for the stroller. Reservation (online) within seconds. And confirmed straight away. The food was very tasty and everything was prepared as requested. The price was absolutely reasonable, but that was irrelevant since we paid with vouchers.

Just great! Both hotel and restaurant! Very high level of hospitality and friendliness. As hikers from HW1, we took the train from Owen to Kirchheim/T to stay overnight in the Waldhorn - the best decision. The rooms are nice and the food is great! The entire team is friendly, accommodating and you feel very welcome from the first moment. Thanks for the hospitality.

Rooms are very clean, but the style is a bit old. Hence the one star deduction. The restaurant, on the other hand, is incredibly good, both the service and the food. Highly recommend the pizza, there are unusual variations.
