Mediocre food for relatively high prices. You have to order at the drinks/food stand and get a pager as soon as you can pick up your food there. I only gave it one star because I was asked to tip when paying with an EC card. I asked the cashier why I should tip when I place and pick up my own order?!? I didn't get an answer. I declined the tip. It's absolutely outrageous to ask for a tip at the EC terminal when there's no service. I've avoided this beer garden ever since on principle. This isn't the USA, and restaurant employees don't have to make a living from tips. Absolutely wrong....

Such a beautiful beer garden location, quiet, with trees and a playground, and more than enough parking. The train station is a 5-minute walk away. I don't know if it was just a bad day, but friendlier staff would be appreciated. The breaded schnitzel with fries was pretty good, but the presentation was a bit careless. Prices have risen dramatically everywhere...! I'll be back.... ;)

Overpriced, poor service. We waited over 45 minutes for two sausage salads today and canceled because they couldn't tell us when the food would arrive. Apparently, the order was missed. Later guests received their orders before us. The service response was abysmal.

Dear people. Where have we ended up? Today we had two special currywursts with fries, and a Coke and a Zero each, and we had to pay 30.60. That's really cheeky. The food wasn't even particularly good. The sauce wasn't homemade. It was somehow from a can or tube. The sausage was cold. The fries were OK. But to pay 30.60 for the food is a disgrace.

Highly recommended, right in the city center, nice, elegant, clean, and good service. Prices are reasonable.

Today, six of us went to the city beer garden for the first time and we definitely won't be back. We ordered schnitzel with fries, salad with hummus and falafel, and the smoked trout fillet. We had to wait a full 50 minutes for our food. The schnitzel is frozen, but that's often the case in beer gardens; you could count the fries at a glance. There were a total of 17 fries on the plate, and they were only lukewarm. The plate had probably been ready for a while. The trout fillet is a joke. It comes with a mixed salad. It was a tablespoon of lettuce with no dressing. Simply dry. They served it with two slices of baguette. The portion is actually a small appetizer. I really don't eat much, but this was far too little for me. When I asked for more, they reluctantly slapped salad dressing on it. The salad with hummus was OK. It's a beer garden, nothing more. It's probably nice to have a drink here, but I wouldn't eat anything here again.

A nice beer garden located by the train station, perfect for an after-work meeting. The food is typical beer garden fare, but not bad, and the drink selection is also good. The wait for drinks is short, and food orders take an average of ten minutes. There is parking, but parking can be difficult when it's busy. There's a small playground for children with a slide, swings, sandbox, and more.

Too expensive for a beer garden in my opinion. For example, a 0.4 liter of Sprite costs €4.20. I find that too expensive. Otherwise, the atmosphere is nice and there's a small playground for the kids.

The food and beer are good. There's no service; it's self-service. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. The parking lot is horribly dirty; I had to clean my car inside and out.

We've been to Stadtbuergarten a few times over the past few years. Last year we had the cheesy XL pretzel and the two of us were quite full. But this year the portion was almost halved and components left out. Also, the cheese served was mostly tasteless instead of the good, spicy one. Since the portion was listed at €19.90 for two people, we got the dish for two. But when we saw how small the plate was, we thought it might have been a mistake and they were serving the same dish for one person. When we asked about it, the obviously stressed employee told us to contact management. We didn't do that. The vegan burger was also pretty meager compared to last year. There were hardly any fries and you had to use a magnifying glass to search for the hummus. It's a shame, but we won't be back any time soon.

Several items in the order were entered incorrectly or not entered at all. The radishes in the salad tasted like they were already old (probably because they were pickled). The fries were a manageable portion.

The roast pork with spaetzle was okay, but the dumplings were a bit small in portion. Beer garden plate: inedible - Maultasche (swabian pasta) was soggy and overcooked, tasted sour, frozen meat cakes were inedible, and potato salad was from a bucket. Conclusion: We won't be going there again.

We visited the city beer garden today after hearing an ad on the radio, a 50-minute drive away. The atmosphere was nice, with a small playground for children. For lunch, we ordered currywurst with fries, turkey schnitzel with fries, and a beer garden platter. The fries were so hard, probably reheated twice in the deep fryer. The currywurst was okay. The turkey schnitzel was frozen, not recommended. The potato salad tasted of nothing, and the meatballs and Maultasche (ravioli) were indeterminate. The trip definitely wasn't worth it.

A very pleasant, casual atmosphere. Freshly tapped beers, excellent food. The live events (after-work) create a sensational beer garden atmosphere.

Everything went smoothly, from the reservation to the e-bike charging station. Despite the holiday and glorious weather, we, the 18 cyclists, spent less than five minutes at the checkout, and we'd barely had our drinks at our tables when everyone's food beeper went off. Everyone was completely satisfied with the food, whether it was sausage salad, herb dip, wild potatoes, or schnitzel. At least today, I can't understand some of the reviews.

A 15-minute wait at the cash register for receipts, presumably due to the live music, is too long for me personally. But Meckatzer beer on tap is a strong argument.

We've been going to the city beer garden for a few years now, but it's now become a waiting beer garden. About a third of the time spent there is spent at the cash register or serving beer. It's no longer fun. The self-service prices are also quite steep (4.90 for a half-pint as of June 13, 2025). We'd rather go to a restaurant with an outdoor seating area in town, with table service, and the same prices. It's a shame; it used to be a great place.

The food is legit, nothing homemade. Potato salad tastes like Rewe. Schnitzel tastes like dead leatherback rat ears, but the service was okay, and yeah.

This beer garden used to be an insider tip, but now, in my opinion, it's no longer worth recommending! The service has deteriorated significantly. The staff is unfriendly, and the wait times are almost unbearably long. The food and drinks are very expensive, and the portions are very small. I had a schnitzel with potato salad and at first thought I'd been served a child's portion—just a dollop of salad and two mini schnitzels. I complained at the cashier, and they told me to just go to McDonald's later... That was probably meant to be a joke—I didn't find it funny! If the city beer garden gets back to its old standards in terms of service and food, I'll give them another chance. Until then, there are plenty of alternatives.

With the vegan schnitzel you could also make 2 to one portion, like with the “real” schnitzel. Vegans actually have the same hunger as omnivores.

Staff was chaotic and sometimes unfriendly. I didn't like the food at all. The playground also has its best days behind it. It's a shame, it's actually a good location where you could do more with it, especially the food. It can be delicious!

We came around 2 p.m. Well after the main meal time. First had to wait 24 minutes at the checkout to order. Then another 10 minutes for the drinks. So after 34 minutes we had our drink. At the same time we ordered food. My friend received his food after 1 hour. I had to wait another 25 minutes and still had no food. When I pointed it out politely the first time, it was said that it was being prepared. After another 10 minutes I went back and complained. How can it be that the person in front of me receives the same food 30 minutes earlier? The most arrogant and unfriendly person in the entire store was the supposed boss. She tells me that I can cancel my meal at the checkout, so wait another 10 minutes. She blamed everything on understaffing. Guys, either I open or I leave. Alternatively, I offer a reduced card. But wait 1.5 hours for a meal and then I still don't have it. For a schnitzel from the deep fryer and fries. And it wasn't even crowded. There was good stuff going on. But nothing more. After waiting for an hour, my friend wanted a small spoonful of gravy. Was rejected. An absolute scandal. If you wanted to get through the summer with this boss and organization, then swap them. Absolutely not recommended!!!!! And completely overwhelmed and unfriendly. If you know that you are not good, you should at least remain polite and show understanding and not just talk your way out of it. Of the 200 guests today, not 10 will come back.

The new tenants are slowly getting the hang of things. Great words from the chefs in the menu, everything fresh and homemade. Ha ha ha Frozen schnitzel cooked to death, potato salad from the bucket, salad mix from the supermarket already partially brown, chicken leg only breading, indefinable, etc., etc. Huge menu of 40% of which was not there at half past five. Sometimes less is more. But very expensive and complaints are not accepted by the “head chef”. Without words. And self-service prices. The bosses should go to Bavaria and look at a good beer garden and learn from it!!!

We have been there several times in the last 2 years. The last time was on Monday. Every time it got worse and more expensive and the portions got smaller. On Monday the summit, fried chicken from the leg, it was just indefinable crumbled breading. I complained to the chef. Answer, it has to be that way. Pull pork burger with coleslaw that was missing. When asked that it was on the burger, it wasn't and that's not what it says on the menu. The big words of the bosses in the card should also be followed by actions and not rip-offs. Maybe go to Bavaria and look at a good beer garden and learn. Take the chef with you!!!

So the best thing about the beer garden is the ambience... the food is totally bland to pick up at the counter... nothing special in terms of taste since everything comes from the frozen food store. Plus it's way too expensive!! Seriously, live and let live but for this quality it's usury!!! We definitely won't be coming back and won't recommend it to anyone else.

I was very disappointed with my visit to the Schorndorf city beer garden today. Cashier was very unprofessional, didn't know his own menu and obviously had problems with his cash register system The food was also unprofessional I had the Swabian Russian egg which turned out to be a loveless pile of potato salad of mediocre quality with a few scraps of eggs and slices of supermarket sausage carelessly placed on top, no fresh herbs, no love, no soul. I was more than disappointed with this dish And as has already been mentioned and photographed by several people The schnitzel and spaetzle that are presented to the customers there for expensive money are a disgrace for a Swabian business. As an operator, I would be ashamed to charge so much money for these industrially manufactured wholesale market products and then charge the customers a lot more for watery sauce, mayo and ketchup to reach into your wallet

Fries are really okay, prices are quite expensive for self-service and frozen goods. The staff at the checkout wasn't really friendly, rather indifferent. The location of the beer garden is great, super central and there is a small playground for children.

The food tastes good but the portions are far too small. My portion of cheese spaetzle was smaller than the children's portion of spaetzle with sauce. I found that almost cheeky. Of course, it’s far too expensive for that. The Kaiserschmarrn was also more. The waiting time for food was clearly too long. It was significantly better with the previous owner. Too bad.

The checkout operator interrupts you in the middle of placing your order and simply says "then do xy" even though I hadn't finished ordering yet. No reaction, just a dull look. The waitress at the drinks desk chats for ages with the person in front of you and then calls you over his shoulder in an unfriendly manner by waving his arm and saying "yes, let's go". And the buzzer for ordering food had an empty battery - after waiting for over 30 minutes, I checked at the counter and lo and behold: the food was long and cold. The benches on the gravel area next to the “bar” are extremely crooked, so you literally lie down while eating. All in all: oh well. Location quite good, food delicious, ambience nothing special and service below all standards.

Great beer garden. There is a large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The child enjoyed the currywurst with sauce and rolls. There is a small playground, children are busy. The oven vegetables (not frozen, fresh!!) with hummus and falaffel were good, really a great selection for vegans. Unfortunately, the man's schnitzel was frozen convenience goods. The general public probably likes it.

First the positive, the atmosphere is nice, the tables are always clean and there is often live entertainment or something similar. But now to the negative. I can forgive the fact that the wide selection also includes convenience products from the frozen food store *cough schnitzel cough*. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't match, but that's also the case in other beer gardens. But so far the BBQ offerings have always been fresh from the grill and really tasty. However, the spare ribs we got this Sunday lunchtime were more than just disappointing. Dark brown to black, hardly any meat between the bones and it's totally tough and even though half the plate consisted of dip and mayo it was still far too dry. Plus the price... When I asked, I was told that they would only be reheated and that was standard practice.

Self-service at lunchtime is no problem, Price doesn't match quality e.g. An extra euro for a stretched sauce, almost water, is quite audacious. I'm happy to pay more, but the quality has to be right. Staff seemed listless at the time.

The beer garden is for people who are omnivores and have no demands on the food at all. Not recommended. Owners are only interested in rip-offs and not in quality

We ordered schnitzel with fries and spare ribs. The schnitzel was soaked in fat and didn't taste good at all! Not to mention the spare ribs... They were by far the worst spare ribs I've ever eaten! You really could have saved yourself the money!
