St. Bart in Berlin

Starting with the highlights: service was great and wine list great although the first 2-3 bottles we wanted to order were out of stock and we were only informed after having already ordered. Food was tasty but a bit underwhelming. Also, we ordered the fish and were informed there’s only the last bit (head piece) left. They explained the portion is normally around 200g but less in this case and that for this reason we would get a special price. However, the special price was a 2€ discount (from about 28€) but there was maybe 120g of fish to eat. So that was rather disappointing & we wouldn’t have ordered it at all, had we known this. Also, more vegetarian options would have been appreciated.

Simply a perfect meal The waitress was really disponible. Truly english atmosphere in a british restaurant. A bit expensive.

really so good! went there for my one-year anniversary with my boyfriend, and the delicious food only made the celebration better. there was this smoked butter we had that i’ll never forget ✨🫶🏻 anyway, just wish i had enough money to eat there every week.

We have been twice now as a large group and i must say the service is brilliant. All of the staff are under pressure the whole time on a sunday due to the popularity of the place but are always friendly. The food is amazing. The closest you can get to a sunday roast outside of the UK. The meat is incredible. The atmosphere is amazing too, again i think this is due to the hard work from the staff

Apparently amateur chefs, with no understanding of how to treat otherwise good produce. Poor composition of flavours. Raw Beef (tartare) drowned in mayonnaise, mushrooms destroyed in oil, cuttlefish not properly cleaned (gritty). Snooty waiter. Bread was good though. Will not recommend

me and a friend wanted to grab some drinks as we always liked the atmosphere when passing, but unfortunately the manager (or perhaps owner?) of the shift made us feel like being a burden upon arrival, seemed as if he’d prefer for us to go somewhere else. not a vibe at all, so immediately left again. if this is how being welcomed at this place, i’m not curious to find out more. very unfortunate as food and atmosphere seem to be good.

We loved it here. My friends and I had a great evening plus it was the best meal we had while in Berlin, the mixologist from Dublin (didn’t catch name sorry) made the best spicy margs, recommended the perfect wine and was a 10/10 vibe - so helpful and friendly, thank you for looking after us! 🖤

Friendly and attentive service without being intrusive. The food was all of good and fresh quality. We sat outside (on the sidewalk) on a warm summer evening. But it was totally fine as there was very little traffic. Just stop by and eat there yourself.

Food is delicious, however there are not a ton of options, and the menu does not change often. Definitely worth a try and is an amazing place, and with fresh ingredients and beautiful flavor combinations.

After hearing good things about the Sunday Roast at St. Bart's, a party of 4 of us plus a baby went one Sunday afternoon to sample it. The food was very disappointing. The beef was raw in the middle, which is not how roast beef should be served. And I don't mean pink, but raw. And I don't mean right in the middle, but the majority of the slice. There was a great deal of undercooked fat on the meat too, and the bone marrow was served uncooked in the middle as well. The skill in a roast dinner is to roast the meat well and this had clearly not been achieved. The vegetables, which had to be ordered separately, were equally disappointing. Broccoli was raw, potatoes not roasted (perhaps fried) and had not been freshly made. The carrots were fine but only two small thin ones were provided. There was a spoon of what appeared to be cauliflower cheese. There were very few vegetables in general and they were not well prepared. The Yorkshire pudding was also not freshly made, it was dry, rubbery and tasteless. The service also left a lot to be desired. As a party of 4 with a baby, we were given a very cramped table, despite others being available. I arrived a little later than the rest of the party and was asked in passing ''do you wanna drink?''. I asked for a menu, but nobody came to take the order, despite at least 5 staff being on shift. The staff did not attend the table to ask how the meal was, or take an order for drinks, or take plates until the very end of the meal. A restaurant this is not. The staff, although mostly nice, seemed ill informed and ill trained on how to wait tables and care for diners. Very loud music blasted out of the speakers and the interior was dark and dingy. Accessibility wasn't really considered, so it was very difficult to take in a pushchair, for example. In summary, we were very disappointed with the poor quality and preparation of the food, despite the high price, and the service left so much to be desired. Next time, we will make a roast dinner ourselves.

Great place to have a lazy breakfast on a Sunday. They call it roast and it's lots of meat paired with some dark sauce and some veggies, that you should pair with their excellent natural wine or a simple beer.

This is my local haunt and it’s the best. Great vibe, great food, really nice service.

Had a lovely dinner with a friend here and we tasted our way through most of the menue. The produce is fresh and of food quality, great to accompany a drink or two or which there are also cute and tasty non alcoholic versions. The atmosphere of the place is phenomenal especially inside.

This place has had a total fall from grace, it's shocking. Prices have gone up and quality has dropped, what a horrific trade off! Despite the restaurant being empty, we had barely any attention from the staff. When we got the Sunday roast menu, it was totally changed from what we'd previously known. My partner whose a vegetarian was really looking forward to a nut roast that we'd enjoyed here previously, which has been totally wiped from the menu now. On top of that, a once robust selection for people who don't eat meat no longer exists on the Sunday menu. The waiter was helpful in showing us how we could make a vegetarian meal possible with limited choices. When we did order, one of the just three vegetarian dishes that we ordered was forgotten entirely. Although it was kindly comped by them, my partner was without a full supper for the majority of the meal. For €50 per person, sitting a whole meal with just peas and potatoes is pretty bad. And when the dish finally did come (€14 cauliflower cheese) the bottom of the dish was stone cold, as if it was just taken out the fridge. When all was said and done, we even had to ask our waiter three separate times just to pay. We had come in that night with a friend visiting Berlin and picked St Bart as the place for her send off meal because we know if for its professionalism and delicious food. That was sadly not the case last night. At the price point they're subjecting to their customers, the quality of dining and service is simply unacceptable. Pains me to write this review given how much I used to love it here :-( A lot needs to change if this many former regulars are noticing such a huge drop from this beloved place!

Very disappointed by the new chef and the new recipes. The flavors were all very flat, portions half the size they used to be nd the price all increased. This was my Favorite place in Berlin for over 2 years, where I went once or twice a month. Not having been in Berlin for two years but passing by the capital this week, I went there twice. I won't be going back, just very disappointed with the menu, the proportions, the flavors and the much higher prices. Of all the dishes I ate during the two meals, nothing caught my attention. Rip St Bart 2020-2022 🥺 Can’t wait to see what’s the previous chef (the founder, the one and only) cooks up in Sydney!

New Chef, new “roast” menu, No vege options, Don’t want to go too low, but won’t come back in its current format. Went there yesterday for the roast having been a few times before. Very disappointed the new chef changed the menu. No longer the shared vegetable platter, have to pay for everything individually. 14€ for cauliflower and cheese as an example seems excessive when the shared platter was around 25€ and had so much. When you add it all up, you would have to pay much more to have less vegetables in the end. Also, no roast potatoes which seems criminal when calling it Sunday Roast(Whilst chive butter potatoes are nice, they are not a roast potatoes) Vege option removed, the nut roast last month with the blue cheese was fantastic & we were planning on coming back once a month as was the best nut roast we have ever had. To have no vege options seems very U.K. 1980’s, and in Berlin of all cities doesn’t make sense. Seems as if the new chef is trying to cut costs, and in doing so lowering the quality & quantity of products. Willing to come back if/when the vege option is added back, hope the chef realises there was no need to change the menu as it was amazing as it was. This review in no way reflects the staff who were very nice & understanding of our disappointment.

WOW! What was that ? Were there today with kids and mother-in-law. The small, manageable menu (it's also a pub) caused us some problems. There were no burgers etc. So we tried little by little and it was really worth it. Exceptional and extremely tasty 😋 We'll definitely be back 🤩

The scotch egg was fantastic. Very nice service, super cozy atmosphere (even if you can't see what it looks like outside this cozy, dark cave when the weather is nice 😂). Good wine list too. Great!

Only superlatives for St Bart! The food is inspiring and tasty, a large choice of natural wines (and good advice from the staff), excellent music choice, relaxed atmoshpere, very good service. Next time we are in Berlin, we will surely come again!

This was my favourite place to come for a proper British Sunday roast! Felt like home. However, as a lifelong vegetarian who couldn’t recommend more the Nut Roast & Vegetable Sharing Plate more (i actually brought my friends with me on my most recent visit), i was shocked that not ONE item on the menu was suitable for the roast as a vegetarian. The prices have sky rocketed, food has good down in value and no feel good factor as it was before. I am so saddened and so were my friends that came with me. The service was great as always - lovely staff. Sadly you have lost a lot of customers, many recommendations and i’m sad to say i will not be returning unless the menu is changed.

You really can’t go wrong here. Everything I’ve ever had is delicious and service is friendly and attentive. Come for a Sunday roast (or just whenever, it’s all great). The only thing I don’t love is that it’s usualy kinda hot inside and always too loud. They need some sound dampening.

That was really disappointing! The food was really nothing special and small portions and very expensive. Unfortunately the relationship doesn't fit at all. Service was so-so. One dish was not ready and was inedible - when we asked, we were told that this was what the kitchen wanted. Ah yes…

Overpriced, badly executed food

Nice restaurant with great service. But the food is way too expensive. 40 euros for a main course that tastes OK is simply not okay (main courses come without a side dish). I asked for a slice of bread and it was charged for, an absolute no go!

Generally a nice shop, but €40 for a chicken breast with a side dish 😅 Price doesn't match the offer at all. I can't recommend it.

Savannah and Philip took exceptional care of us as we ate our way through the absolutely superb menu.. they both took the time to share their knowledge and favorites, making the meal a true experience. It’s the kind of personal service paired with truly passionate attention to each dish that makes St Bart shine. The acidic and richly crisp brick chicken, fresh and bright broccolini paired with labneh and smoky Aleppo, the Parmesan crusted, honey drizzled onion rings (oh mama, those onion rings..), and every other delicious treat, cocktail, and great conversation. Just perfect.

Cooles Ambiente, liebenswerte Bedienung, das ausgewählte Essen etwas enttäuschend. Der Wirsingkohl aus dem Ofen mit Garnelen klang interessant, war aber zu hart und versalzen- für 25 Euro! Die geräucherte Haferbutter zum leckeren Sauerteigbrot schmeckte (mir) nicht. Am besten war der Nachtisch: Pawlowka - Baiser mit Beeren.

OK Gastropub in Berlin. Heard a lot for this place and food and booked for Sunday roast. All food was a bit flat, we took lamb shank, roast beef, and half chicken.. Price with wine was 50 euros per person. Nice atmosphere and good personnel.

Nice restaurant (pub) with a relaxed and laidback atmosphere. The food is delicious, service is fast and welcoming. Good wine selection and even better drinks. Please note; kitchen is open so you might smell a bit afterwards if you’re sitting in the front.

My friend and I had a great evening at St. Bart. The staff were very friendly, attentive but not intrusive from the very first second. The advice on the dishes was great. The dishes are simple in design, but extremely tasty. Top quality of every single dish. The drinks - especially the cocktails - are super tasty. The price for two starters, two main courses and a side dish was 130 EUR including four cocktails. Thank you very much for this great evening. I will be back 100%

Exceptional service, delicious food.

We had a good experience. Some of their dishes are truly delightful - all of it has a strong taste, they cherish their ingredients. Apart from their famous chicken dishes, the food was tasty however the taste range varies wildly, with some of them really not making the cut (lamb and chicken are delicious). The goat cheese desert was really complex, loved the mixture of flavors and texture - the appetizers were ok. When it comes to drinks, the selection is even more complicated. The IPA is great, most other beers are not well selected and the prices are not okay. The wines (!) may or may not be carefully selected - if nobody tells you they are natural wines (for 14 € a glass) it really hurts your experience. All 3 of us dont like this type, and we all were served a different one. Personally didn't taste one good wine here yet - I personally can't recommend the "normal" reds either (we tried 6). Most of them don't match the extremely strong (and partially great!) taste of the food. Our service was nice but simply overwhelmed. We didn't know about all the drinks (neither did they), some entrée was forgotten, then served after the food. They were very nice but completely untrained - which is something you can't do if your audience spends min 50 € p.p. All in all it is not exactly a round experience, which food going one way and drinks and service going another. Ambiance is, as always, great. Will try once more - mainly for the food . Drinks and service need review. Partial recommend.

Best onion rings out there. Pairs well with a dirty martini. People are funny and pleasant. Open for walk ins too — fingers crossed you get the window seat !

I and another British lady went for the Sunday roast today. We are used to cooking a roast dinner and were looking forward to getting some decent home-cooked grub. We left disappointed. Roast beef was pink and my piece was not bad, if slightly tough. The yorkshire pudding was sadly cold when it arrived, the veggies slightly warm. Roast potatoes were the biggest failure. They looked very dark and were small and tasted more like old fried ones. Indeed, we were told that they had been cooked the day before (nothing wrong with that) but then put in the fryer. No oven roasting at all. They were dark, soft and totally disappointing Carrots were fine but only two provided, sweet potato puree and creamy leeks also fine but not hot. Sprouts were overcooked and charred on the outside (not sure why). Red cabbage was available in minute amounts. Due to the inadequate lighting, the vegetable plate arrived and most veggies just looked black. The sprouts looked like fried mushrooms, the red cabbage like cinders etc...not good. We held things up to the candle to identify them. I can't remember the gravy having much flavour. Such a pity...they are probably the only place doing a Sunday roast in town and it was not up to scratch. The price was high, as mentioned in other reviews, which is why we had high expectations. I don't think we will go back.

Not everything that is available here is also available in English pubs and vice versa. The food is varied for the small selection and is very tasty and freshly prepared. The wine selection is quite good for this price range and the service is very nice and very attentive. So there are, despite there being no Guinness ;-). , 5 stars for me because we felt very comfortable.

We came for their Christmas roast. The food in general was good. Some dishes hit, some missed. We started off great with the bread topped with sardines. The sardines were amazing. Meaty and not fishy at all. Then the kitchen forgot about our mains. The staff brought out the olives as a complimentary which was nice but we still waited over an hour till our order came. Then the mains came. We shared duck breast, beef, lamb shank and roast plate. The duck’s flavor paled in comparison to the beef and lamb. But towards the end, I was glad there was the berry sauce since everything started to taste the same. It sure needed something to cut through the richness and saltiness. My most favorite dish was the roast plate. The various vegetable and yorkshire pudding were amazing. We ended the night with both dessert dishes that were available. Both were okay. The wine selection here was very good. We were recommended 2 bottles of red wine and they were excellent. Though there was the mishap with the order, the staff were nice and friendly. Overall I had a good experience here. I’d come back and try their regular Sunday roast.

I had the Holiday roast dinner last night and it was seriously something special. The veggie roast (cabbage roll, nuts, blue cheese…. 😍) was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the beef roulade was fantastic. Genuinely loved the dinner & the ambiance 💛

One of my absolute favorite places in Berlin. The food is very good and well made, the atmosphere cozy, and the staff is very welcoming. I recommend the Brussels sprouts and the amaretto sour.

Unglaublich gutes Essen. Einfache Zutaten von bester Qualität und Zubereitung. Reservieren muss man unbedingt, funktioniert mit einem einfachen System. Der Wein ist extrem teuer, kann man kaum bezahlen, ist aber fantastisch!

Why haven't I been here sooner? 🤩 Everything I could dream of for a cozy warm yummy dinner. We got the scotch egg, oysters, broccoli, sardines, onion rings, and the ox cheek....and each dish had care and a brilliance of flavors. I can't wait to come back and taste EVERYTHING again. It's a perfect spot for a date or small group of friends for an intimate convo. Shucks, I'd come back alone for a beer and a small plate alone... it was that smashing!

We were here for the Sunday roast. The meat was well prepared and tasty. We had a mix of beef and lamb. Wine was ok. The place is small and packed, because of that it can be noisy so you don't hear acompanion.

일요일에 가면 일요일에만 먹을 수 있는 썬데이 로스트가 있다. 고기들이 아주 만족스러운 고퀄리티의 맛이라고 하긴 어렵지만 가격대비 만족도는 높다. 고기를 맛있게 요리하긴 하지만 고기 자체의 맛이 아쉽다. 고기보다도 야채구이 플레이트가 하이라이트다. 당근, 감자, 펜넬, 단호박퓨레 모두 달짝지근하고 맛있게 구워 나온다. 조금 늦은 시간에 갔더니 요크셔 푸딩이 다 떨어져서 그냥 사우어도우 빵이 나온 게 아쉬웠다. 로스트 비프는 먹을 만 했지만 골수에서는 특유의 기름지고 고소한 맛이 나지 않았다. 그레이비 소스도 평범했다. 양고기는 부드럽고 요리는 잘 되었으나 고기 자체에서 냄새도 나고 맛도 평범했다. 피칸파이 맛있어 보이는데 일요일은 4시부터 저녁손님(?)을 받아서 금방 소진 된다. 모든 직원들이 독일에선 보기 어려운 수준의 친절함을 보여줬다. 고마울 정도로 친절했다. 같은 고기를 또 먹을진 모르겠지만 한 번 쯤 가볼 만 한 곳이다.

Super leckeres Essen mit spannenden Ideen und Kombinationen. Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, super freundliches und engagiertes Personal. Immer gerne wieder. Weiter so.

Gemütliche kleine und unscheinbare Gastrokneipe in Kreuzberg. Wir sind unverhofft auf dieses kleine Schmuckstück gestoßen und bereuen es keine Sekunde. Wir wurden von einer umfangreichen Weinkarte überrascht. Das Personal war überaus freundlich. Auch die kleine aber feine Karte mit ausgewählten Speisen, enttäuschte nicht. Das Sauerteigbrot und die Jakobsmuscheln sind sehr zu empfehlen!

We were here just for the Sunday roast and were a bit disappointed by the food. It was just ok. The quality seemed good but since they only sort of reheat it/ or keep it warm for a long time, the chicken was dry, the potatoes, carrots were dry, the sauce didn’t match, the bread was bland. The mushed potatoes very pretty good though! Overall it‘s fine, but nothing one has got to try or that I would crave again. Maybe the regular menu is better. The service was very nice, but got things mixed up.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, aber mir fehlte irgendwie eine eindeutige Richtung oder Idee. Die Zubereitung der Speisen wirkte recht willkürlich. Das Konzept, dass man sich einfach mehrere Vorspeisen und eine Hauptspeise bestellt und das dann teilt, finde ich toll, aber es wäre schon gut, wenn einem das die Servicekräfte erklären würden. Diese sprechen ausschließlich englisch, das finde ich suboptimal. Alles in allem ist das St. Bart einen Besuch wert, aber für die Preise (zu zweit mit Getränken etwa 100 Euro) gehe ich wohl lieber woanders hin.

The fish was cooked very well and remained juicy on the inside, and the chicken was also very delicious, but honestly, I would have expected there to be no foil on a chicken that I paid 26 euros for. In my opinion, the price & performance is a bit low.

I was so in shock about how good the chicken is that I could not even take a picture. The tomato salad with nduja was also great, the lemonade… will definitely come back when I’m in Berlin

Overall just a really nice dinner experience. All dishes where cooked on point, the brick chicken was insanely juicy and they also have a really solid wine list with many good bottles to choose from. We had such a lovely time here the other night for our friends bday! We ordered a wide range of food which was well portioned great flavour and affordable. Food I thought was classic but with a modern and fresh twist that didn’t feel pretentious. Cool, relaxed vibe in the restaurant that felt a bit special. Shout out to our waiter Stephen who was really helpful and made our time super enjoyable!!

My favourite piece of UK here. These people serve (sometimes) sausage rolls for a price which might force a real brit to go to the court (now imagine a guy from the North). Hell of sausage rolls those things are though - you will like every single cramp of it. Sunday roast is there as well (sick!) Might be a bit scarce on free space and air inside.

Sunday roast! Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings! Excellent savoury food every-single-time! Personally not a big fan of the dessert items on offer but it bothers me not at all because the food is just that good.

Good drinks / service. Food wise the chicken was fantastic, however we all found the tenderloin exceedingly mediocre - undercooked (to what we asked for) and lacking flavour.

I've been here for the first time and I loved it. The ambience is great (typical English with dark wood tables and chairs). I tried the Sunday Roast and it was delicious, and so were the drinks. The staff was super nice. It's definitely going to my list of faves.

So so so delicious. Simple but super high quality food. Cool, relaxed but fun vibes.
