Yesterday we had goose dinner at the Speisekammer restaurant again. A wonderful place with a lovely atmosphere. The goose and all the trimmings were absolutely delicious, and the service was not only very attentive but also communicative and happy to accommodate our very special requests. We're already looking forward to next year.

Guests are greeted by a friendly, motivated team right at the entrance. Service is quick, without being intrusive or rushed. Friendly recommendations for aperitifs and the daily specials are provided. Overall, you feel very comfortable here, and the tranquil ambiance makes you want to linger. This is definitely fine dining. The food is very good, and the portions are generous. The price is justified, even if it should be considered a lower category. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here, thank you very much.

Excellent place — small but full of charm! The staff is VERY friendly, and they also have the menu in English, which is great if you need it. The food is just as good as the service — we ordered snails, Frankfurt schnitzel, pumpkin tortelli, and Argentinian rump steak with pumpkin purée. Everything was DELICIOUS! A traditional, upscale restaurant serving Frankfurt cuisine. Tablecloths and cloth napkins are provided. We sat inside in October, but the outdoor area is also very nice. Good food at a fair price. The staff was friendly, and we had a wonderful evening. I recommend making a reservation; the locals here go to Hirn Weines, which is a bit off the beaten track. That's part of the charm.

Unfortunately, I have to complain about the female server here, who, after greeting us, turned to the other waitress to loudly complain about us. Little tip: You can hear it ;) The lady also looked a little out of sorts, perhaps from a long night of partying. It would also fit with her appearance. Too bad. Perhaps she could take a leaf out of the book from the long-haired waiter. He's doing a pretty good job. The ambiance is nice and clean. The food was okay, but there's still room for improvement in terms of quality.

The food is excellent. The ambiance is very nice. Unfortunately, some of the service staff are not up to the mark, being flippant and at times rude.

It was my first time there and I was 100% happy

The food is absolutely not good value for money. We've had better and cheaper dishes. The food was presented carelessly and completely tasteless. The sauce was wrong, the meat was tough, and the cordon bleu, in my opinion, was kept warm. What a shame! The service and ambiance were excellent.

I would definitely not go there again and advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. We had a reservation for 5 p.m., and when we arrived, 90% of the outdoor tables were free. Nevertheless, we were seated near the kitchen. When we asked if we could move to another, nicer table (which we would have shared with others), we were told that unfortunately, all of them would be reserved for groups shortly. By 6 p.m., however, hardly anyone showed up; 80% of the tables were still free, and there were no reservation signs on any of the tables. It turned out that it wasn't groups, but rather subsequent couples, obviously without reservations, who were seated at the nicer group tables. After a drink, we decided to go somewhere else, to the Friedberger Warte. Excellent and honest service, good food, and a great atmosphere! Speisekammer: never again.

Unfortunately, standards have greatly fallen at this restaurant that we so enjoyed frequenting over the past decade. With one month advanced notice on our reservation, and having arrived about 5 minutes before the reservation began, the host re-seated us on an unstable, slanted table; unacceptable for a €60 pp meal. Bringing this to his attention was pointless as he was argumentative and somehow blamed the customer instead of taking responsibility! Otherwise the food and service were good, though portions are shrinking. We don’t need to schlep up from the center to Heddernheim, plenty of good choices in FF/M. We won’t be back! Perfect place for a summer evening The location is ideal for warm summer evenings – pleasantly shady and nice and cool. The food was truly delicious, with their own creative recipes that you won't find everywhere. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the stay even more pleasant. The prices are also absolutely fair. We'll definitely be back!

We were thrilled! The food was delicious and authentic; you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. An excellent restaurant with quality cuisine. The dishes are delicious, home-style cozy, with typical Frankfurt notes. "Kladovaya" pleases with a cozy interior and a pleasant beer garden in the open air. The service was friendly and professional. In general, everything was very pleasant, the only negative is that the prices are slightly above average for a typical Frankfurt establishment.

A very nice place, especially the options for outdoor seating in the beer garden under the open sky or under cover. The service was excellent, the food was very good, and the portions were also generous. My only complaint is the extremely high drink prices (a wheat beer for €6.40!)

The beer garden is wonderfully cozy and situated under large trees, partially covered. The service is professional and friendly, very competent and attentive. The menu is varied, and the dishes are always delicious! There's a good wine selection and innovative drinks; it's just a shame that the high quality of service, food, and drinks isn't complemented by a good glass of apple wine, but rather by an industrial product. Nevertheless: a top address and very cozy.

The schnitzel was excellent, the boiled beef was first-class, and the green sauce is highly recommended. The service is friendly, attentive, and competent. It's a shame, the schnitzel wasn't freshly baked in the pan, but came from some "warm drawer". The breading wasn't crispy, really flaky... when asked, the waiter claimed that the schnitzel had been freshly fried... but now I know the difference because I work in a restaurant myself... The veal meatloaf from my companion was great…

Gestern mal wieder in der Speisekammer und auch diesmal sehr angetan. Das gesamte Team arbeitet hervorragend. Der Service überaus herzlich und kompetent, schön eingedeckte Tische und schon die Begrüßung mit Brotteller und Amuse Bouche ein Vergnügen. Die Qualität der Speisen durchweg auf hohem Niveau und auch die kleine aber klug zusammengestellte Weinkarte (auch Spitzenweine glasweise) zeugt von hoher Sachkenntnis und echtem Interesse. Die Speisekammer ist ein Vorbild, an dem sich viele Gastronomen ein Beispiel nehmen können.

Very fine and seasonal menu, typical and cozy Hessian house with a garden and, above all, a very professional, attentive and hospitable staff. A pearl in the old Heddernheim!

I went for a business diner. Great Atmosphere, great food (traditional German food done well!), amazing wine (good price for the selection. Riesling, French wine and Italian wine). But the star of the dinner was the service. We were lucky to have Anna as our waitress and she was just brilliant! I strongly recommend anyone in Frankfurt to drive the 10 minutes from the center to enjoy this amazing place.

Nice restaurant with a good menu and good service. “Coddo” and “Zürcher” were great. We only found the unmistakable statements of a waiter about TAXES disturbing and also extremely uninteresting :-). Of course we’d still be happy to come back!

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp in Frankfurt! Die Speisekammer begeistert auf ganzer Linie. Schon beim Betreten spürt man die herzliche Atmosphäre, die von dem freundlichen Team geschaffen wird. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich und kreativ – hier findet wirklich jeder etwas. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Qualität der Zutaten und die Liebe zum Detail bei der Zubereitung der Gerichte. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss! Dazu kommt eine tolle Weinauswahl, die perfekt auf die Speisen abgestimmt ist. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist mehr als fair. Ich kann die Speisekammer nur wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

We were guests of the pantry in the summer in the beautiful garden and in the winter (the red cabbage was a dream) with an excellent atmosphere. You can really spend romantic evenings here and the price is definitely worth it! We are already looking forward to the booked celebration in the wine cellar!!

We have been guests for dinner for a long time. We won't repeat it. Venison goulash with spaetzle: Loveless and tasteless - no salad or red cabbage - no decoration. Zander with Brussels sprouts and boiled potatoes - just as carelessly presented, without butter sauce or anything like that... Maybe think about it in the kitchen... I don't care, we won't be coming back

Nicht mehr zum empfehlen: Gans (Portion) macht „aufgewärmten“ Eindruck; die Gänsebrust ist trocken; komisches Publikum im Gegensatz zu früher - 6 laut sich Geschichten erzählende Personen („Angeber“) bei denen der Chef immer wieder am Tisch steht und laut mitredet (man kennt sich …); am Tisch gegenüber eine Frau, welche die ganze Zeit ihren Hund auf dem Schoss hat ihn ihm Küsschen gibt - auch während des Essens -, der Hund halb auf dem Tisch; einzig der freundliche Service einer jungen Bedienung machte es erträglich; seit ca. 14 Jahren sind wir immer wieder zum Gansessen dort gewesen … heute war es das letzte Mal!

Unfortunately no longer good! For me, the pantry was always THE good home-style restaurant in Frankfurt. I've celebrated a few birthdays there. The food was always a little more expensive. The quality was great. Yesterday I was there again for a long time. Unfortunately not good anymore. As a starter I had a lamb's lettuce that was completely over-seasoned. Then a veal schnitzel with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were just soft mush, and the breading of the schnitzel was far from crispy...rather limp. And at prices that are really really expensive. The drinks are also completely overpriced in my opinion. A glass of red wine (0.1!) for 10 euros… The service was absolutely great, attentive and friendly people. It was really full and fully booked because people came to eat goose. It seems they can still do that. I'm not going there anymore, unfortunately.

We come to the Old Pantry every year to eat goose, and this year the food was again very good. We are already looking forward to next year.

Very nice restaurant, food and service top

We were there for a goose dinner and absolutely loved it. Despite the restaurant being completely full, we were served quickly, friendly and courteously. The goose and side dishes tasted excellent. Also the lamb's lettuce and the recommended red wine. This could become an annual event from now on.

Six of us came for the goose dinner and chose a round table in the middle of the restaurant. However, it was full to capacity that evening (Friday) and I didn't envy the service staff. I found it all the more exemplary that they managed to remain relaxed and friendly, answer questions and also fulfill special requests. The goose was quickly carved at the table, side dishes were quickly provided and refilled upon request. Everything was tasty, including the red wine (extensive menu). We can recommend!

We came here especially for the goose menu. After ordering we had to wait for around one hour until the food was served. Staff were friendly though. Toilet was located outside the building. Honestly we were somehow disappointed with the food. Goose was too dry, also it had no juicy skin…We had tried better and cheaper goose menu in other restaurant and couldn’t stop comparing these different experiences…really a pity.

Even more pleasant than the food is the quiet beer garden in the inner courtyard with its old trees. Good home-style cuisine with a selection of vegetarian dishes in the upper price segment. The potato pancakes tasted like mom's, but the wild mushroom ragout served with it was a bit over-seasoned. Unfortunately the pumpkin soup wasn't quite hot anymore. Friendly, cheerful, very committed service staff.

Wat een verrassing, heerlijk gegeten, zeer vriendelijke bediening en een goede wijnkaart voor redelijke prijzen! Zeker een aanrader,

Ich war mit einer Freundin in der Speisekammer essen. Gleich nachdem wir uns gesetzt hatten fragte man uns, ob wir einen Aperitif möchten. Wir verneinten, weil wir erstmal in die Karte schauen wollten. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit kamen zwei weitere Kellner und stellten genau die gleiche Frage. Und da wir uns gleich anfingen zu unterhielten und nicht gleich wussten, was wir essen und trinken wollten, entstand seitens des Personals Druck zu bestellen. Ich hatte Wiener Schnitzel mit Pfifferlingen (33,40 €) und einen großen Tiefgesprotzten für 5,90! und meine Freundin hatte Rumpsteak mit Pfifferlingen (35,90 €). Meine Freundin bekam erst das falsche Gericht serviert. Etwas später kam dann das richtige. Das Stück Rumpsteak war kaum sichtbar unter den Pfifferlingen! Meine Pfifferlinge waren kalt und die Sauce war geschmacklos. Auf dem Weg zur Toilette, die draußen im Hof ist, wurde bereits von der unfreundlich Bedienung verabschiedet. Beim bezahlen entstand erneut eine unangenehme Situation mit der Bedienung bei der wir das Gefühl hatten hinauskomplimentiert zu werden. Die zwei Punkte gibt’s nur für das angenehme Ambiente. Essen und Personal nicht zu empfehlen. Es gibt in Frankfurt wesentlich bessere Lokale mit richtig gutem Essen und freundlichem Personal.

UPDATE September 2024: The cuisine and service were very good as always. We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary. At the neighboring tables in the not very large dining room there was a good-humored company party with around 30 people and the corresponding cheering. An incredible volume, you could hardly understand your own words. We should have been told this when making the reservation. Visit September 2023: Good home-style, fine upscale cuisine. Beautiful guest garden under large old chestnut trees. We had scallops in a fine sauce, Zurich veal slices with homemade spaetzle, which were particularly good. Meat wasn't as tender as expected. Portions are manageable. Price-performance ratio overall okay. Very good goose dishes at Christmas time.

It's a very cozy restaurant with great food

Der Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, perfekt. Das Essen leider weniger. Die Vorspeise, das Rindercarpaccio, teilweise noch gefroren, hier fehlte der typische Fleischgeschmack, zu viele Scheiben die zusammen klebten. Das Hauptgericht, Pfifferlinge mit Nudeln entsprach auch nicht meinem Geschmack die Pfifferlinge ohne Aroma, nicht gewürzt, sehr wenig, klein geschnitten, die Soße übertünchte den kaum vorhandenen Pilz Geschmack. Mein Fazit, heute enttäuschend, die Preise nicht angemessen.

Auf Anraten von Freunden haben wir uns gemeinsam zum Essen in der Speisekammer verabredet. Hier sollte man gut essen können. Bei einem vorherigen Blick auf die Speisekarte und die Getränkekarte sind die sehr hohen Preise aufgefallen. Selbst für Frankfurt sind 6,50€ für ein Bier unverschämt teuer. Bestellt habe ich dann u. a. eine Portion Kässpätzle für 16,90€. Ich bekam eine Portion, die hätte allenfalls meine kleine Schwester satt gemacht. Würziger Bergkäse…..? Weit gefehlt. Das ganze hat eher einem Nudelauflauf geähnelt. Und das Beste, die Spätzle waren durchsetzt mit Bandnudeln. Auf freundliche Nachfrage was das soll, keine Antwort, keine Entschuldigung, nichts. Nur verschämtes Lachen und der Koch sei schuld. Meine Vermutung; Bandnudeln sind billiger als Spätzle, da kann man das ganze schon mal damit „strecken“. Wenn das so war, dann nenne ich das eine riesen Sauerei. Verarschen kann ich mich selber. Mich würde mal interessieren, was das Ordnungsamt zu solchen Pantschereien sagt. Für mich war das der erste und zugleich letzte Besuch in dem Laden.

Cozy restaurant, tables beautifully set, cloth napkins. Service nice, attentive and quick. Apparently from the field. Food tasted OK. Prices raised. We found the children's portion of spaetzle with sauce €8.90 a bit excessive. Cost €3.50 in another restaurant last Sunday. If you consider that most of the time you don't eat it, that's enough.

Die Gaststätte und der Garten sind sehr schön. Der Service war auch sehr gut. Aber für ein kleines, dünnes, trocken gegrilltes Kotelett mit Kartoffeln ohne Salat fast 28,- €, das ist einfach zu viel, sowie für 0,2 L Wein 9€ ebenfalls!!!

We were a little disappointed last time. The price level is noticeably higher than average, but unfortunately the food didn't really convince us (schnitzel was too salty, for example). The atmosphere and staff were very nice.

Upscale restaurant with a cozy outdoor terrace, high-quality food and excellent service. We ended up here by chance and were extremely positively surprised. The menu offers a great selection of regional and newly interpreted Hessian dishes, both visually and tastefully flawless. The portions are smaller than usual in other restaurants, The price is also a bit higher, but given the quality offered, it is definitely justified. We had veal schnitzel and boiled beef with green sauce, both dishes were excellent! The service also deserves high praise; we were served quickly and very friendly. No wonder the shaded terrace was full when we visited. Unreserved recommendation!

Eigentlich ein schönes Ambiente, Parkplätze kaum vorhanden, der Gastraum schlecht gelüftet.Überschaubare Speisekarte mit Standartgerichten. Preise gehoben, Preis- Leistungsverhältnis nicht ausgewogen. Bratkartoffen durchwegs angebrannt, Gemüse, Suppe und Zwiebeln mit Bitternote. Das Steak in Mikroausführung aber gut gebraten. Der Service durchwachsen, italienisch sprachiges Personal, auch durchwachsen, einer sehr freundlich, der andere raunzt die Gäste an, vergisst die Bestellungen, reisst dem Gast den Teller aus der Hand. Espressotassen leider nicht vorgewärmt, Der freundliche Kellner weiss wenigstens, wo der Grappa herkommt und welche Traube gekeltert wurde und wo. Fazit: Zu teuer, teilweise unfreundlich, Essen durchwegs preislich nicht angemessen bei durchschnittlicher Qualität. Kann man sich eigentlich sparen.

In the pantry you can find fine cuisine in Heddernheim. Up to now we have mostly sat under trees in the atmospheric courtyard for Ebbelwoi in summer. But now we enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable dinner with very attentive service in the beautifully decorated dining room. The food and drinks were all excellent and the impressive prices correspond to the offer and the standard.

Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und in den Recht offene aber doch authentisch eingerichtete Gastraum (für meinen Geschmack leider etwas zu hell beleuchtet) platziert. Wir wurden mit Brot, Butter und Gänseschmalz empfangen und nachdem wir unsere Getränke sehr schnell erhalten hatten, wurde uns die Wartezeit auf unser essen durch einen kleinen Gruß aus der Küche (Kürbisschaumsuppe) verkürzt. Das auffallend freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal hat das schön angerichtete essen perfekt serviert und es blieben keine Wünsche offen. Von der Dessertkarte war ich etwas "enttäuscht", denn die angebotenen Leckereien passten meiner Meinung nach nicht zum Stil der Hauptgerichte. Alles in allem ein wunderschöner Abend der mit einer gerechtfertigten Rechnung vollendet wurde.

Wir hatten die Gans to go. Sie war wirklich sehr saftig. Da hatten wir schon ganz andere Gänse. Leckere Beilagen und auch ausreichend. Es wurde auch unaufgefordert beim Tragen zum Auto geholfen.
