You have to have been there, price performance is very good, staff friendly and helpful.

This evening we were invited to a birthday party at the Speckwirt. One of our guests had chewed gum in his salad, which he unnoticed put in his mouth on the fork with the salad and realized when chewing that it was not normal. When he spit it out, it was chewed gum. We were very disappointed and showed it to two waiters. We were not charged for the salad and main course. We were told that the boss knew, but he still didn't come to us and we received no apology or explanation from him. We often went to the Speckwirt for breakfast. After this event, I'll never come back.

We ordered the onion roast four times and the venison goulash once. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat was disappointing - the meat was very dry, which greatly affected the enjoyment. We had the roast roast returned, which was done without any problems. The second attempt was a little better, but unfortunately still a little dry. It's a shame, we had hoped for more.

Small but nice menu. The seven of us spent a few days in the Black Forest and twice at the Speckwirt. From Kässpätzle to Maultaschen to pork fillet...everything is really delicious. The salad is also a dream. The waiters were super friendly and it was quick (helpful with children :-). So definitely happy again. P.S. Super fair prices ;-)

Went here twice this week. Parking is difficult. Prices are ok. Some dishes are good, the Maultaschen for instance, other dishes not so much. Others awful. The three dumplings with sauce for example…can’t see going back.

We had a great time at Speckwirt! The staff is friendly and we ate very well. The menu only includes traditional German dishes, at a very reasonable price.

The value for money is incredible. I had a pork escalope (which implies a need for quality meat otherwise it looks like rubber) and it was delicious! I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Nice restaurant in the style of a brewery. In the middle of the week in the evening in October, everything was full. Nevertheless, they tried to give us a table. We had to wait about 10 minutes, which wasn't too difficult in the small souvenir shop in the entrance area. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the prices were great too. It's definitely worth recommending, we'll be happy to come back!

We've been there several times now but each time it wears off... gourmet breakfasts were more common and cheaper months ago... a few days ago we ate fillet, well 2x mini pieces and salad wasn't fresh either... ..we won't be coming back because it's no longer worth it. You couldn't use the toilet either because there was a smear film on the tiles and it was totally slippery...

Also ich war jetzt schon mehrfach da und es wird immer enttäuschenden. Schlemmerfrühstück für 2 war vor Monaten reichhaltiger für 28.80 und für 2 Personen. Am Wochenende dagewesen und Filet bestellt,2 Minifilet und der Salat war auch nicht frisch. Toilette konnte man gar nicht benutzen da es so schmierig und rutschig war..... Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder..... Qualität lässt immer mehr nach...

Food: really good, honest, down-to-earth, delicious cuisine. Service: We have a lot to do, but we get everything done, hats off to us. Ambience: Simple but warm, cozy, sometimes a bit loud but still pleasant. You can sit inside and outside, reservations recommended inside from Friday to Sunday.

Eaten deliciously today. Viennese style schnitzel with fries and salad. The salad was mixed with leaf lettuce, carrot salad, potato salad and radish salad. They were all very tasty. The fries were delicious too. There was also a delicious sauce in an extra container. The only thing to complain about...the breading wasn't prepared. Large portion and tasty. Not expensive either. We would come back.

Highlight DAVID, a waiter who understood us perfectly and helped us being foreigners; On the contrary, his companion (blonde) was very unfriendly and when we told her that we needed a table for 12 she told us to leave. Very delicious food, and they adapted the dish to be GLUTEN FREE.

Nice and quick service. We had cheese spaetzle with Black Forest ham and a Pfännle. (Fried potatoes, meat products, fried eggs) Prices are absolutely fine. P.S. The raspberry schnapps was very fruity.

Unfortunately, the prices advertised on the website are not met. The local prices are generally charged for lunch, even though you take the food to go. (Difference of 2 euros) If you address this error, the bill will not be corrected or the website updated, but instead you will hear rudeness from the waitress.

I've been there for dinner about 3 times with my parents now, the food is simply excellent, large portions, fast staff, so the food comes relatively quickly when you order it, it's very well maintained and would definitely recommend it to others, it's just great there and by far my favorite place Favorite restaurant

Delicious Swabian and international dishes. Good selection, it's hard to decide on the menu. It would certainly have been nicer outside that day, but it was very warm inside. The service also sat us down at a set table when suddenly someone else came and told us that it was the regulars' table. Since when do regulars' tables still exist and why doesn't he have a regulars' table sign? I felt a bit second-class afterward.

Totally unmotivated employees, the boss argues with kitchen assistants in front of his guests. The food was served lukewarm, the taste was satisfactory to sufficient, but the prices were very reasonable. In the early days of the Speckwirt, price-performance was still okay, the emphasis is on “was”. We will not visit the restaurant again.

Nice food, inexpensive and plentiful, recommended at any time

Visited this restaurant for the first time, we had fried potatoes with sausage salad, a dish for two, not so hungry so we ordered less, took the order monotonously and with an undertone of "don't feel like working today". The food from the kitchen was good, the bar didn't feel like cleaning the dishes, my wife was served a dirty glass and had to run after the waitress to get a new one at the bar.

Went there spontaneously for lunch this afternoon. The service and the ambience was great. The drinks and food came very quickly and our dog was immediately greeted with a bowl of water. Top! Would do it again.

A very nice and cozy restaurant with hearty food, delicious drinks and top service. In my opinion, the schnitzel dishes are highly recommended. However, the choice becomes difficult when it comes to the question of whether you would rather have golden brown fried potatoes or fresh spaetzle. Either way, we were so excited that we just stopped by the Speckwirt again the next day 😉. Finally, we can highly recommend the malt liqueur - something different... All in all, a top address in Freudenstadt if you are looking for good cuisine and friendly service.

It's a shame about the location.. unfriendly service, the wrong food was delivered twice, and then a mushroom sauce that tastes like curry? Never again.

A visit to the Speckwirt should never be missed during your Black Forest vacation! We were there twice in 2020 and twice in 2024 and were thrilled every time. The service and food are great and we always feel very comfortable there! We'll be back and until then, best regards from Cologne.

So I thought it was an average restaurant. I stood in front of it with my walker and none of the staff offered to help me, even though they walked past me a few times. Nobody was friendly. The food was tasty but the service was not good. You still have to work on it.

We stopped by spontaneously and were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner, even without a reservation, until the next table was free. The menu is regional and down-to-earth. Food and drinks came quickly and were excellent in taste and "presentation". A clear recommendation from me for people who like really good and tasty food without any frills. Price/performance ratio was top. I would also be willing to pay more for the portion or the taste.

This place has a beautiful warm vibe and a cozy atmosphere ✨ The Flammkuchen served here was highly recommended to me. There is a vegetarian option of it. The service is okay. We waited long for the waitress and when she arrived, she was unfriendly. The other waitress by the bar was much friendlier, so I guess it depends on the staff recruited. The food was served shortly in ~ 10 minutes. The vegetarian Flammkuchen was terrific! It had a very thin and crunchy dough, light creamed cheese, grilled zucchini, paprika, onions, ans garlic. It was quite delicious and light. If you're starving, you might end up ordering two of these. Highly recommended 👌🏻

The Speckwirt is unfairly praised. Regionally brushed with brass music, but Asian service and an unworthy parody of cheese spaetzle! My recommendation: 'Grillmeister' at Schulstrasse 9.

Das Essen war gut. Wollte ich jetzt relativ gesehen von den Toiletten auf die Küche schliessen müssen......Die Herrentoiletten rochen stark nach Urin, es lagen alte Putzlappen auf dem Boden. Nicht sauber. Ich unterstelle eine Ausnahme dieses Zustandes. Werde aber nochmal kommen und bewerten.

Non-German speaking tourists, found this wonderful restaurant full of locals. QR code provided to translate the menu. Loads of pointing but so friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious, good wine options and service great. Good sized portions so great for a big appetite or for sharing. A fab find.

Were in this place on Sunday evening when we came in there was no hello, no good evening, didn't think much of it, but it went on completely with this unfriendly manner, no smile was probably not wanted. Got a card without any information about what was already over and promptly caught a dish that was over. I didn't give a tip afterward, I don't know what for.

Short and sweet... In my opinion it doesn't achieve value for money. The food is very expensive for the quality that is served. A large portion of fries with 3 small slices of pork loin and far too little hollandaise sauce, which was clearly lukewarm for €18.90 is far too expensive. And the great thing is that the meal is offered as a daily meal the following week for €10.80. So on Sundays it costs €8 more because it's the weekend or what's the reason? My wife had the Swabian pan with pork loin, cheese spaetzle and mushroom cream sauce. The cheese spaetzle was tasteless, the loin was dry, the sauce was lukewarm and there were maybe 3 small mushrooms in the gravy boat. And charging 15.80 for that is far too expensive. The side salad was actually the best part of the meal. But the real kicker was when part of the group went to the toilet, a few went for a smoke and came back and the large table was suddenly partly occupied by strangers, even though jackets, bags and other things were still lying there. When asked why someone sat her down there because we didn't have any drinks, she didn't have an answer and the boss didn't understand the problem either. Just because you pay and go somewhere doesn't mean that I have to vacate my table immediately. The atmosphere there is still very nice.

Everything was great so far. I got everything relatively quickly and the taste was great too. I only had a Black Forest cup, but the others said that the Speckwirt's Currywurst was also very good.

Bin total enttäuscht! Essen kam kalt , die Knödel waren schon ganz dunkel vor Trockenheit! Hab es zurück gegeben . Kam ein frisches Essen, aber kein Käseknödel dabei, sondern zwei normale und ein Spinatknödel und die waren nicht frisch ! Alles nur Mikrowelle! Der Bedienung hat es nicht gefallen ,das ich es zurück gegeben habe, mein Glas war leer und keiner kam mehr an unseren Tisch ,also haben wir gezahlt und sind noch in ein anderes Lokal. Wir kommen da auf keinen Fall mehr hin ,außer es müsste sich einiges ändern !!
