Very tasty and super friendly service. We had the Maultaschen soup. Richly filled with Maultaschen snacks. And the verse plate. Super tasty.

Came across this beautiful restaurant by chance and were thrilled by the excellent service, generous portions and the pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely stay with you. On our next tour through the beautiful Black Forest, a visit to you is a MUST. Have a great time and stay healthy.

We went there spontaneously and were simply thrilled. The service was super fast, even though it was very busy. The food was incredibly tasty and the portions were definitely filling. In terms of price, it's also totally okay for what's on offer. Absolute recommendation!

We just had dinner at the Speckwirt and once had the Maultaschen with bacon, mushrooms, mountain cheese, fried eggs, fried potatoes and salad and a Maultaschen salad. Everything was super tasty, the portions are huge, the hospitality was great and very nice. Even though we didn't pre-order, we still got a great spot. We will come back at any time and can only warmly recommend the Speckwirt in Freudenstadt to everyone.

The Speckwirt in Freudenstadt on the market square is an absolute recommendation when it comes to Swabian cuisine. The restaurant presents itself in the good Swabian tradition and has friendly and, above all, fast staff. Our food arrived 5 minutes after we ordered. The prices are absolutely fine when you consider the location, others charge more. The menu mainly specializes in Swabian dishes such as Maultaschen, onion roast and cheese spaetzle. The portions are really big, everyone gets enough here. However, the restaurant is only recommended to a limited extent for vegetarians and vegans. Although there are vegetarian dishes, visitors should be aware that the Speckwirt also smells strongly of bacon and fried meat. If you have a problem with this, you might be in the wrong place here. Next to the restaurant there is also a shop for Swabian souvenirs. All in all, a top recommendation, especially for visitors to the Black Forest who have less contact with Swabian food at home.

Traditional Swabian cuisine. A side salad as it should be: each type seasoned well for you. But the potato salad was the real deal: to die for. I originally wanted Maultaschen with potato salad, but then decided on the delicious roast beef. After the salad I knew this was a mistake.

While strolling through one of the largest market squares, we stopped at the Speckwirt twice. A rustic restaurant with a good price/performance ratio! On our first visit, the waitress took our order rather unfriendlyly without greeting us. But the tarte flambée was great and she was probably a bit annoyed shortly before the shift change. The next day around lunchtime we actually wanted to do something different, but stopped here again. Even though it was very busy, we received friendly and quick service. The food was plentiful and good. We can happily recommend the Speckwirt...

The service was very friendly and I liked the atmosphere. I ordered roast beef - the meat was fine and the mixed salad was very good. Unfortunately, the sauce and the spaetzle were not homemade, but only bought and heated, which detracted from the overall impression of the dish. I would have liked more quality from the kitchen here. Overall a mixed experience - with a little more attention to detail in the food it could really be great!

I wonder where all his good comments about the food come from. The salad was greasy. The dish was also greasy. I barely ate anything. The dessert seemed to buy at the supermarket. A tourist trap definitely didn't go there.

Haben Geburtstagsfeier gefeiert, ein Gast hatte im Salat einen zerkauten Kaugummi, den er ausspucken musste. Sehr widerlich. Haben es dem Kellner gegeben, er konnte nicht erklären wie er dort rein kamm. Der Chef kamm nicht raus hat sich nicht entschuldigt.

This evening we were invited to a birthday party at the Speckwirt. One of our guests had chewed gum in his salad, which he unnoticed put in his mouth on the fork with the salad and realized when chewing that it was not normal. When he spit it out, it was chewed gum. We were very disappointed and showed it to two waiters. We were not charged for the salad and main course. We were told that the boss knew, but he still didn't come to us and we received no apology or explanation from him. We often went to the Speckwirt for breakfast. After this event, I'll never come back.

We ordered the onion roast four times and the venison goulash once. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat was disappointing - the meat was very dry, which greatly affected the enjoyment. We had the roast roast returned, which was done without any problems. The second attempt was a little better, but unfortunately still a little dry. It's a shame, we had hoped for more.

Best German food you will try in town! They prefer german, but they are nice to try to speak English. The food is incredible! Must try the apple strudel, out of this world!!!

Wir haben am Sonntag kurzfristig noch einen Tisch bekommen und waren gespannt was uns erwartet. Sehr angenehm überrascht 👍👍 Wir hatten Zwiebelrostbraten mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat, das andere Essen war ein Schnitzel mit Champignons und Käse überbacken und 1 Spiegelei drauf. Sehr sehr gut gegessen und die riesen Portionen sind der Hammer 🔨 🔨 💕💕 da gehen wir wieder zum Essen hin. 80 km Anfahrt nur weil da die Sonne schien🌞🌞🌞 Wir hatten nur Nebel. Sehr nette Bedienung auch der Chef 👍👍

The food is great, the service is great, the ambience itself is also great - only the tables are a bit low. Your back doesn't like sitting for long periods of time. Nevertheless, we would always come back. We were there twice within a very short time during our holiday week - both times we were thrilled. Small but nice menu. The seven of us spent a few days in the Black Forest and twice at the Speckwirt. From Kässpätzle to Maultaschen to pork fillet...everything is really delicious. The salad is also a dream. The waiters were super friendly and it was quick (helpful with children :-). So definitely happy again. P.S. Super fair prices ;-)

Went here twice this week. Parking is difficult. Prices are ok. Some dishes are good, the Maultaschen for instance, other dishes not so much. Others awful. The three dumplings with sauce for example…can’t see going back.

We had a great time at Speckwirt! The staff is friendly and we ate very well. The menu only includes traditional German dishes, at a very reasonable price.

The value for money is incredible. I had a pork escalope (which implies a need for quality meat otherwise it looks like rubber) and it was delicious! I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Nice restaurant in the style of a brewery. In the middle of the week in the evening in October, everything was full. Nevertheless, they tried to give us a table. We had to wait about 10 minutes, which wasn't too difficult in the small souvenir shop in the entrance area. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the prices were great too. It's definitely worth recommending, we'll be happy to come back!

Also ich war jetzt schon mehrfach da und es wird immer enttäuschenden. Schlemmerfrühstück für 2 war vor Monaten reichhaltiger für 28.80 und für 2 Personen. Am Wochenende dagewesen und Filet bestellt,2 Minifilet und der Salat war auch nicht frisch. Toilette konnte man gar nicht benutzen da es so schmierig und rutschig war..... Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder..... Qualität lässt immer mehr nach...

We've been there several times now but each time it wears off... gourmet breakfasts were more common and cheaper months ago... a few days ago we ate fillet, well 2x mini pieces and salad wasn't fresh either... ..we won't be coming back because it's no longer worth it. You couldn't use the toilet either because there was a smear film on the tiles and it was totally slippery...

Food: really good, honest, down-to-earth, delicious cuisine. Service: We have a lot to do, but we get everything done, hats off to us. Ambience: Simple but warm, cozy, sometimes a bit loud but still pleasant. You can sit inside and outside, reservations recommended inside from Friday to Sunday.

Eaten deliciously today. Viennese style schnitzel with fries and salad. The salad was mixed with leaf lettuce, carrot salad, potato salad and radish salad. They were all very tasty. The fries were delicious too. There was also a delicious sauce in an extra container. The only thing to complain about...the breading wasn't prepared. Large portion and tasty. Not expensive either. We would come back.

Highlight DAVID, a waiter who understood us perfectly and helped us being foreigners; On the contrary, his companion (blonde) was very unfriendly and when we told her that we needed a table for 12 she told us to leave. Very delicious food, and they adapted the dish to be GLUTEN FREE.

Nice and quick service. We had cheese spaetzle with Black Forest ham and a Pfännle. (Fried potatoes, meat products, fried eggs) Prices are absolutely fine. P.S. The raspberry schnapps was very fruity.

Unfortunately, the prices advertised on the website are not met. The local prices are generally charged for lunch, even though you take the food to go. (Difference of 2 euros) If you address this error, the bill will not be corrected or the website updated, but instead you will hear rudeness from the waitress.

I've been there for dinner about 3 times with my parents now, the food is simply excellent, large portions, fast staff, so the food comes relatively quickly when you order it, it's very well maintained and would definitely recommend it to others, it's just great there and by far my favorite place Favorite restaurant

A quaint restaurant with surprisingly affordable prices. There was really something going on the day we were there; Live music included.

Delicious Swabian and international dishes. Good selection, it's hard to decide on the menu. It would certainly have been nicer outside that day, but it was very warm inside. The service also sat us down at a set table when suddenly someone else came and told us that it was the regulars' table. Since when do regulars' tables still exist and why doesn't he have a regulars' table sign? I felt a bit second-class afterward.

The food was served lukewarm, the taste was satisfactory to sufficient, but the prices were very reasonable. In the early days of the Speckwirt, price-performance was still okay, the emphasis is on “was”. We will not visit the restaurant again.

Visited this restaurant for the first time, we had fried potatoes with sausage salad, a dish for two, not so hungry so we ordered less, took the order monotonously and with an undertone of "don't feel like working today". The food from the kitchen was good, the bar didn't feel like cleaning the dishes, my wife was served a dirty glass and had to run after the waitress to get a new one at the bar.

It's a shame about the location.. unfriendly service, the wrong food was delivered twice, and then a mushroom sauce that tastes like curry? Never again.
