Sorrel in Berlin

Really nice restaurant, staff excellent loved the dining area, but the food was the highlight. Best meal we had in Berlin was here.

We had an amazing dinner here - the food was phenomenal. We are both veggie and there were plenty of options for us. Wine was amazing too. We thought the meal was very reasonable (€120ish for two people, including wine, cocktails and pudding). Service also was fab!

Was there for breakfast on Saturday. We got a place straight away. Service only in English. Food was ok, but for the price it was cheaper and the food was better. There were 4 service staff, but they were hardly noticed. When I wanted to pay, the finger was pointed at the bar saying I could pay there. Of course they asked for a tip, but for what?

Very tasty food. We shared breakfast. There was burrata, fried eggs, a salad and French toast for dessert. Everything was delicious, we were very full and the French toast was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. We were lucky to get a table. The price was a bit more expensive, but the food was very tasty so it was good. The cocoa was really tasty too.

Great location. Unexpectedly beautiful. If you look at the street and surroundings. A typical Berlin insider. Absolutely recommended. Best case scenario, make a reservation. I was here for breakfast and was disappointed. The food is nicely prepared, but tastes nothing special. Far too expensive for what it is. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food remained unspectacular.

Overall this is great place to have dinner at. The staff is friendly and food is great. 4 stars out 5: - The door does not close very well. When people come and go it is left open. Makes you feel cold if you sit not far from the door - The pasta was a bit oversalted. The rest of the food was great!

Menu and service (Standard Berlin) only in English and the welcome was not effusive, but OK. The ambience could be cozy if it wasn't so incredibly noisy and the wooden benches had a cushion or cushion here and there. The food (a pumpkin and a fish dish) was good, but unfortunately neither surprising in terms of taste nor particularly elaborate in terms of craftsmanship - hence my conclusion, at least for this subjective snapshot: you can do it, but you don't have to have had it...

Food is nice but pricey for what you get. We did spend a good 100 €, and still had food and drinks on our table when the waitor came and informed us quite harsh that we need to clear the table in 30 minutes because its reserved (altough there is no reservation possible for two at sundays). no polite hint or something at the beginning of our brunch, that we would be racing a clock there, which you wouldnt expect giving the chill and luxurious vibe this café tries to achieve.

The most beautiful location where the sun shines at lunchtime and the best brunch. I would say one of the best in the city. With really great twists. Everything was super tasty. 10/10

Quite overpriced for the quality and amount of food they serve. We paid 12€ for 3 pieces of green asparagus. And the same price for a boring fennel salad. That’s a joke Update: We went to Sorrel last Saturday eve for dinner to give it a second chance. Unfortunately it did not really get better. The service, except of one woman who took really good care of everything, did not give enough attention. A few did not really had a clue about their huge wine list, which is a bit weak for a restaurant that is specified on natural wines. One of the waiters did not even know if there was a pet nat on the menu so we had to order something random as he was not able to tell us anything about the wines. For Food we ordered 5 Plates of braised pork. None of them was served warm, had any texture than wobbly fat or was seasoned very well. It was actually not really fun to eat this dish. Over all there were a few dishes that were technically well done as we ordered everything on the menu. Nevertheless everything sounds way nicer as it actually is in the end. I'm very sorry to tell that i won't come again as this was already the second unsatisfying experience at this place.

Just another overrated hipster spot in Berlin. All the dishes on the menu sound very interesting, creative and inspired. But our experience was a bit different. The use of any spices and flavours doesn't seem to be common here. Maybe I don't understand the chef's concept… The braised pork belly was tasteless, so the carrot ‚emulsion‘. The fennel was also tasteless. The potatoes were steamed, baked and deep fried to death; so they died at least three times (the miso Mayonnaise was also tasteless). So we skipped the dessert. If you like 'natural wine’, this is your spot. Beer was ok. The mussels were ok.

Sorrel quickly became one of my favourite spots in Neukölln. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the seasonal menu always feels fresh and interesting. I have to say, their coffee is a real standout for me—hands down some of the best I’ve had in Berlin. Whether you’re grabbing a bite or just there for a flat white, everything has that unique twist that keeps you coming back. The mushroom tempura sandwich and potato galette are solid picks, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

What a cute place, with a great service and good food ! Definitely a cafe I’ll enjoy spending a couple cozy hours reading my book in Had the French toast and homemade lemonade and loved it !

Great food, coffee and service!

Though the food is tasty, the portions are tiny and you need to order multiple dishes per person, if you are slightly hungry. Hence, a visit turns quite expensive for what it is. Usual slow East Berlin service in hip places, but friendly!

Food not prepared with hygiene and carefully. Found a pointed plastic piece in my food which trust me could have been bad if I I had swallowed it. Everything is good but there is one single guy taking orders and placing people on table, who is full of attitude. So much so that my experience was ruined. Found a pointed plastic in my dish and when I asked the guy if he could explain this and he said yea so it was a kitchen accident. Didn’t even apologise.

This is going to be my new favorite Restaurant in Neukölln :) went as a group of 5. I loved the sharing plates. Everything was fresh and delicious. Beautiful food and atmosphere - so cozy. Thank you.

Great value, cosy setting and good service. The plates are for sharing and they were the right size. We were five and had eight plates. All very good. The wine we ordered was also very good.

Overall great brunch. The food was very delicious & generous portions. Service was very nice, though we did wait quite a bit for the food. Atmosphere is cool. Oysters 4.5/5: nice produce, nicely served with pickled shallots and lemon Burrata 4/5: great produce, nice little acidity Bread & butter 4/5: good, but nothing special. Bread served cold, didn’t like the whipped butter Fennel 5/5: super delicious and fresh. Loved the combo with the peach, olives and almonds paired with a subtle fruity/acidic dressing Fried eggs on labneh 4.5/5: delicious with the chilli oil. Really liked the toasted bread, though the dish could have used a little extra punch of umami. French toast 5/5: great in texture and taste. Great sauce combinations and superb pudding/creme (?) on top. Iced matcha 3/5: too subtle on the matcha.

The service was super nice and fast. Recommendations fitted perfect, food and wine were delicious. We will definitely come back.

The food was amazing 🔨. Unfortunately, my wallet was stolen by fraudsters in the café. You definitely have to take care of your valuables there! I would like the staff to familiarize themselves with the surveillance video so that they can identify the perpetrator next time. Nevertheless, I will come back, the food was really great. But I will keep my bag closed, close to me. The waitress said this has been happening a lot lately. I would be interested to know what the cafe is doing to prevent this from happening in the future? Even if you can't help it, of course.

Cute place for Brunch! The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious.

Great restaurant that lives up to the reviews. Every dish we tried was perfectly made, including the dessert, a beautifully light Basque cheesecake. My favourite was the fennel, peach and almond salad. The wine we had was great, too. The service started off a little slow, but the waiting staff more than made up for it during the course of the evening. They were attentive, friendly and professional. I’d highly recommend Sorrel to anyone looking for unpretentious yet delicious and innovative food at good value.

In my opinion, the cafe is a bit overrated: the prices are quite high compared to the quality offered, which I find to be average. The flavors are nothing special, and overall the experience was a bit over the top. There are definitely better alternatives.

Great place and atmosphere! Food is amazing!

Service unfortunately was very slow. We had to wait for the order for about 40 minutes and one dish was missing. Schnitzel was good.

The three of us were there on a Thursday evening at 7 p.m. without a reservation and got a table without any problems! We had a wonderful evening. The employees were very courteous and attentive, the food was excellent, as was the wine and the overall price-performance ratio was outstanding. Also worth mentioning is the super cozy atmosphere. We would love to come back!

The food was ok, but some dishes like the fried egg and the labneh can be found in almost every restaurant in Berlin. You can get them in some restaurants in Hackescher Markt with better ingredients for the same price. The coffee was very good, and the alcoholic drink was good but not special or new. The service was extremely poor. Although I had reserved in advance, the treatment and choice of table was very poor. The coffee I was served was spilled on the table because the waiter had hastily put it down. He didn't change the tray or bring napkins to wipe up the coffee. The food took a very, very long time to be served and strangely only one dish was served even though I said I wanted all the dishes to be served at the same time. After the first dish was served, we waited over 30 minutes for the other dishes, even though we had already waited just as long for the first dish. The napkins were very scarce after the coffee accident on the table and I had to ask for more (one napkin per person is not enough in my opinion). In short, the food was good, but not special enough to warrant a repeat reservation. The service was very, very bad.

I’ve been visiting Sorrel for 2 years, and recently the menu doesn’t include the best dishes often shown on Google. The new dishes aren’t as good, and they’re pricy. The service seems to be also getting slower. What was an easy 5-star brunch spot is now no longer recommended. Atmosphere still excellent.

For those who love sharing delicious vegetarian and other dishes in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at a charming street corner, accompanied by well-selected natural wines, this is the perfect spot for a cozy summer evening. In my opinion, Sorrel is one of the best restaurants in Berlin. Everything is really perfect - ambience/interior, service and food! It was my third time there - the brunch is incredibly good, but for dinner you can't beat it! The employees are so attentive - friendly without being annoying. The decor is so pretty and the food is really great. The price is unbeatable for what you get! Only recommended!

Very very very good. Unfortunately the brunch menu is not very varied, there are just three things on the menu. At this point it is better that they are few and done well. Excellent service and ok prices. Added to favorites immediately 🥰

Very tasty drinks, and food. Great variation of options. The stuff is very friendly but the waiting time to go inside, and to get food was long. So please keep this in mind, especially for a bigger group of people that you either may not get place or have to wait for ages.

Waiting time is very long. A portion for two is definitely not enough for two. Prices do not match quality/quantity and sophistication.

Chill atmosphere, with a minimalist style offering tasty small plates to share. Everything we tried was delicious, although a bit on the pricier side. Service was super fast, we instantly got a bottle of water along with the menus, and the server, and food later came out really quickly. This place does get really packed on the weekends and evenings so make sure you get here earlier.

Food here is great albeit a bit pricey. Got three plates to share. The goachuang potatoes which were delicious, the egg and labneh and green asparagus. These are all medium sized shareable plates and super tasty. I’ll be back.

Paul and his team put together an incredible family-style brunch menu for our big group, with tons of options for vegans & vegetarians. It was soooo delicious - still dreaming about those potatoes! We will definitely be back

I had a really great experience celebrating my birthday dinner at Sorrel. Dishes are really tasty with efficient flavour combinations and high quality ingredients. Service is attentive and friendly. Portion-wise, 2 dishes are good enough for one person with bread on the side.

Nice restaurant, cute atmosphere. All dishes were delish and big plus that there are so many vegetarian options. Especially the asparagus and Endivie were amazing. I also liked the cocktails. Only downside and why it gets 4 stars was service. We had four different waiters throughout the evening, the greeting and guiding through the menu was missing. Little bit of small talk would’ve been nice. At the end the lady waiter smashed the bill on the table without a single word.. that was really not so friendly 😬

We had a very tasty dinner. With the recommendation to order about 2 plates per person, we were exactly full. The service was super friendly and at eye level.

Pretty overpriced hipster stuff. The food was okay, but completely overpriced. There's nothing else that could justify the price. When paying, the waitress put the bill on the table and said in English that tips were not included. When I wanted to pay my share, she explicitly asked again whether I would like to give a tip. What an impudence!

We used to love coming here and the cuisine was different. The dishes were tasty and delicate and the ingredients were much better. Now the vegetables are swimming in heavy and salty sauces, the dishes have no special taste and the quality is no longer the same. The staff is unfriendly and quite unprofessional. Besides, the bread can't be out at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Sorrel is one of Berlin's best restaurants - no doubt about it!

The food tastes good without a doubt, but you quickly pay 20 euros for a relatively meager breakfast that doesn't really fill you up in the end. But for the price, the food isn't good enough. The staff was very friendly.

The place is nice, the atmosphere is cool. Waitresses and waiters were very nice and friendly. Food was overall very tasty. The bad thing is that the “shared breakfast” which is quite pricey (38 euros) is supposed to be for two people but one really leaves with the feeling one’s been ripped off. Totally not worth how expensive it was. Also, at some point it got so packed that the orders were incredibly delayed. I know prices are increasing but even a bit more bread would’ve been already enough. Two half-pieces of bread for a shared-38-euro-breakfast seems like something’s wrong to me.

Good crew, good food, especially if you’re sharing with a couple people and can get EVERYTHING. Free refill on the filter coffee! Quiet weekday mornings. Freshly renovated inside for extra hip-coziness.

Were there in the afternoon and the food there wasn't that good and was expensive

We visited 2 nights in a row. First night was a date night and the next we were a group of 6 persons. Both nights were great. I do recommend ordering plates rather than the fixed menu though, best I guess that's up to personal taste... All dishes were nice, comforting and well executed. We will be back for sure. The wine list is full of our favourites. The selection of unicorn wines is good. The price point of the wines is very gentle. We will be back for sure!

I don't really understand the hype. The food wasn't bad but really not spectacular and quite expensive for very small portions. Minimalist menu, vegan options only upon request, almost no brunch options. After all, very friendly and nice atmosphere.

Came in to grab a coffee 20 mins before they closed. Amazing service, and incredibly friendly staff. In other places they’d have rushed me out or offered a takeaway coffee in a paper cup to go. Here we’d enjoy a quick drink in the café! Fabulous! Can’t wait to go back. Thanks!

I really dislike that I needed to give my bank details to reserve, it’s really private and that almost turn me off coming to the restaurant. I am happy I came, the experience was amazing despite this really intrusif protocole.

Very cozy date like vibes. I loved the atmosphere. We had the pumpkin, mussels and cabbage. All very tasty and well prepared. Lots of vegetarian dishes and service was also excellent. Thank you!
