Sona in Leipzig

Highly recommended, one of the best sushi restaurants in Leipzig. The service is excellent, the staff are highly skilled and very friendly. You feel comfortable from the first minute to the last, and to top it all off, you get amazing sushi and a delicious cocktail.

We had an amazing dinner, delicious food and drinks in a chic yet relaxed atmosphere. The service was exceptional, and our waiter, Minh, was so attentive and offered great recommendations and humour in German and English. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a special meal.

We ate at Sona as a family with a small child. We had a sushi set menu for two and udon noodles, the udon noodles of which deserve special praise – they were some of the best I've ever eaten. The sushi was also of very high quality. The fish, in particular, seemed very fresh and perfectly prepared. The price, however, was steep! We paid over €110 for two adults and a toddler. But it was still worth the experience, even if it's not something we'd eat there every day.

Excellent food, especially the Japanese variations of this "Asian fusion" menu. As a former guest worker in Tokyo, I can highly recommend this discovery in Leipzig. The same goes for the exceptionally attentive chef and a server from Prague. The three of us had maki as a starter, followed by salmon, beef, and a vegetarian dish – all top-notch! 👍

We order from Sona very often and have always been very satisfied until now. Today I picked up an order of three phos, which were far too heavily seasoned (both salty and spicy). We couldn't eat them, and one of the noodles was also missing. I was very annoyed because the price is really steep, but it had been worth it until now. We'll be avoiding them for a while. What a shame 😓

Today was our first time at Sona and it was a truly wonderful evening! The sushi creations were really original and incredibly delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and the staff were very attentive, friendly, and also very good with children, so we will definitely be back soon. :)

Unfortunately, we weren't informed that an event was taking place. In the end, we were seated right by the door and it was incredibly cold. Therefore, I have to rate the ambiance lower.

An absolute must for every sushi lover! This was our second visit to SONA, and once again we were absolutely thrilled. The service, ambiance, food, and drinks are simply outstanding! A true delight for the palate and an adventurous experience, far removed from conventional sushi cuisine. Here, quality and customer satisfaction are paramount. One should be aware of the somewhat higher prices beforehand. However, I find them completely justified in terms of taste and experience. Definitely the right choice for special occasions! We will definitely be back very soon. We also recommend making a reservation in advance if you are planning a visit!

We sat on the top floor on a Saturday evening, and it was almost as if the restaurant wasn't full at all. This created a very private and wonderful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive and never lost sight of us, despite having to serve three floors. The food was fantastic! We had sushi, and we were especially taken with the rolls with truffle mayo! We'd love to come back!

Each member of the staff is incredibly polite and talented. Especially one of them is always super amusing. I’ve only experienced the best service I’ve seen in my live. The food is at the top of Leipzig’s best Vietnamese fusion restaurants. From the truly traditional sushi to modern fusion cuisine - they are killing it and not just that, they also make an awesome Pho and many other warm foods!

We went to Sona on a Friday evening. The food itself was good, but the portion was very, very small for the price. For two people, the price was €64, and there were only about 20 pieces of sushi in total. It was very loud, and the table was tiny. Sadly, it's not what it used to be.

Sona remains an excellent place to eat well and experience exceptionally attentive service. The quality has been consistently high since Sona opened. My only comment is that the "You & Me" sushi platter is becoming less common. However, the ingredients are still excellent.

We've been regular visitors to this restaurant for years and are always very satisfied with the quality and presentation of the food! If possible, when making a reservation, you might want to ask for a table upstairs; we find it the most appealing. Ordering is also very easy!

We've been there several times and the food is really good. However, their prices have become ridiculously high. They only offer small beers, and at €5 (for a 0.33l Warsteiner), they're simply overpriced. Unfortunately, this is a reason for us to reconsider future visits.

First, let's talk about the service. The staff was incredibly attentive and, on top of that, incredibly funny. We were thoroughly entertained, which is truly rare in the restaurant industry these days – to actually have any interaction at all. So, thank you very much for this pleasant and fun evening. The sushi and the food in general were of very good quality. The appetizer platter, with several dishes not on the menu, is particularly recommended. All the sushi variations we had were also highly recommended and not something you often find. The price is well worth it for this experience. We will gladly return.
