SOLAR Sky-Bar Restaurant Lounge in Berlin

Finding it wasn't exactly easy (down an alley past Lidl). The view is truly beautiful (even more so for a sunset), the place is beautifully decorated, the service impeccable, and the food delicious! Like everywhere in Berlin, vegan dishes are on the menu!

This was our third time trying the Morgenpost menu, and each time we were pleasantly surprised. Of course, the view over Berlin is stunning. But for us, it's more important that the food and service match the view. We'd be happy to return.

I was here with a large business group last evening. We have a very nice 5 course meal that was fantastic! The presentation of each dish was excellent, and our waiter was top-notch. The interior could really use a big makeover, though. While the view is spectacular, the windows on both the inside and out need a really good cleaning for full appreciation.

Rui prepared our drinks. They were amazing! And he was really friendly and kind. Thank you, I will visit Solar again!

Nice high-rise location. A bit pricey but it's worth it.

The view over Berlin's rooftops is, of course, phenomenal, and one you don't often get in Berlin with such a pleasant ambiance. The service varies greatly in its interactions with guests, sometimes polite and accommodating, but also arrogant and ignorant. The price/performance ratio is not entirely commensurate with the quality of the dishes. The cauliflower was drowned in too much hollandaise sauce, the tartar lacked flavor, and the fish was a bit dry and simply too small for the price; it didn't deliver a burst of flavor. Of course, taste is subjective, but there's a certain incompleteness that permeates the dishes.

Wow, this view alone makes up for it. We went at night. Nice cocktails.

The bar has a great atmosphere...cool DJ booth (which can move up and down between two floors).. Mixed crowd...cool drinks that are admittedly on the higher end of the price scale...I'd love to come back.

One of the best Morgenpost menus we've had so far. It would have been perfect if the amazing potato bread had been served as standard. Great service, good wines. Unfortunately, it's quite loud when it's full. But a real discovery; I probably would never have found this hidden restaurant without the menu. The view from above is great for Berlin guests.

The entrance is a bit hidden, and a doorman has to open the door for you. Then you take the glass elevator up. It's a cool place with a great view of the entire city. Prompt service and good drinks. We were there with our teenage children at 6 p.m. just for a drink (you can also get food). We all enjoyed it.

This was one of the best experiences I have had in Berlin so far. The food was amazing, atmosphere was amazing and the service was also top notch. ' Mr. Loris ' who was serving us was the coolest guy, we ordered the chef's special menu where I wanted vegetarian and my partner wanted the normal with meat. Mr. Loris made this happen for us and every course had atleast 5 different items and every item was a bust of flavors in the mouth. This was the best vegetarian food I've had in Germany till now, that too with all these varieties. The cherry on top was that the whole staff came singing happy birthday for my partner with the cutest most delicious cake ever and the whole restaurant sang along , this was a very special moment for my partner. Thanks a lot to the Solar team for making my partner's birthday so beautiful. P.s. we went at 8:30 pm in the summer, this way we were able to see the view in sunset and in the dark. This view of Berlin is the prettiest.

Something different Highly recommended

I was last there about 20 years ago and wanted to present a special perspective of Berlin to my visitors from another city. It worked out perfectly; the ambiance is truly something special. But we were both positively surprised by the food and the excellent service! It wasn't cheap, but definitely worth the money. Fine cuisine, but with generous portions. To finish off, we had a delicious schnitzel. The service was particularly outstanding; we received truly friendly service. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

System to share isn't for everyone, but we loved it. Thanks for the lovely evening.

Delicious food, fantastic staff and lovely views of the city

A restaurant with a stunning Berlin panorama on three sides. The food is largely high-quality and perfectly seasoned, but the prices are sometimes a little unreasonable.

Solar is a restaurant that you don't just walk past, it is hidden in an apartment building with a separate entrance especially for Solar guests. Once you have found it, you will find a friendly doorman who greeted us. We were allowed to take the elevator up, which went along the side of the apartment. When you get out of the elevator you enter a chic restaurant where you get a nice table with a great view of Berlin. We could choose from various dishes from the menu or be surprised by the chef with many small dishes. We did the latter and it was a great success. Everything was tasty and well prepared. The wines and cocktails are expensive but of high quality and therefore worth it for us. We were very happy to have discovered this special place and to enjoy their qualities in serving and preparing food and drinks!

Great welcome with a very professional and friendly team. The view is incredible, I highly recommend it for a great evening with friends.

The bar has a very limited selection of cocktails, and a limited selection in general. Cocktails are not cheap, but nothing special and even tasty 🥲. Only the location under the roof (probably the 18th floor) saves a little... But the music is not very loud, which makes it possible to communicate.

Essen außergewöhnlich gut, sehr hochwertig, großartige Location, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Restaurant für meinen Geschmack viel zu eng bestuhlt und der Koch, der das Steak am Platz aufschneidet, drängt sich an fremden Tischen mit seinem Gerät vorbei. Auf die Bemerkung, dass eines der Desserts nicht so ganz unser Fall war, die für diese Preisklasse unangemesse Antwort, dass das ja Geschmackssache sei ... Somit etwas schade und insgesamt in Preis-Leistung nicht ganz stimmig.

It had been a while since my last visit to the Solar Bar. But now it was that time again. After a short wait at the entrance, we took the outside elevator up. The view was great again. 2 seats were found after a short wait. Now all that was missing was a cocktail and everything would be perfect. This was unexpected but more than problematic. I placed the order directly at the counter. After about an hour I finally had my two cocktails. It wasn't overly crowded. The staff seemed overwhelmed and wandered around haphazardly with the tray. Some guests came from their tables to the counter and checked the orders on the tray to see if it was their order. Other guests waiting at the counter looked at each other from time to time and shrugged their shoulders. They wanted to either order or pay but things were progressing very slowly. Well, at least the cocktails were okay in the end, but they should be given the price. But there was no second order. We didn't want to overwhelm the "service staff" and left.

We didn't eat, but we did have a few cocktails at the rooftop bar. The prices are on the higher side, but the cocktails are very good, so you get value for your money. The elevator is external when you go up, so you shouldn't be afraid of heights when you get into it. Furthermore, a nice atmosphere and good music (DJ). Recommended if you are looking for a rooftop bar!

We are really disappointed. The bouncer was extremely rude and disrespectful - as soon as we opened the door he immediately started insulting us for no reason. We just wanted to celebrate my sister's birthday because it was her big wish to go there. Unfortunately the bouncer ruined our entire evening. It's a real shame that an actually beautiful place attracts negative attention through such behavior.

The security guard with the long dark beard was very rude and unprofessional. He made a big fuss because my friend was holding the door. The security guard shouted at him and kept asking if he had a problem and kept getting close to him. He seemed obviously looking for a fight, but we didn't give him that. I hope this place will hire more professional staff in the future because this was the worst experience I've ever had in a bar and it ruined my birthday party

Great location! The view of Berlin is very beautiful. Cocktails & food is also great. However, if you have more than two or three people, you should make a reservation in good time.

A nice bar with a wonderful view over Berlin. Particularly noteworthy is the gentleman at the entrance, who welcomes you very nicely and openly.

The man in the suit is super nice and professional, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and it's always worth stopping by on weekends. The drinks are great and the service is breathtaking. The lounge furniture is missing, but we'll be back!

We had a great evening at Solar. The food was very tasty. The service (especially Jan) was attentive and very patient. The small drawback was the selection of desserts, my companion wanted Sugar Baby (various sweets) for one person, unfortunately that wasn't possible. The view over Berlin was great, but it gets quite loud in the bar as soon as the DJ starts playing.

Service could be a bit more professional, quickly gone and no experience of pouring anywhere. Very loud, difficult to have a conversation.

The doorman/bouncer made a very arrogant and arrogant impression. The jackets have to be handed in - objection is pointless. His comment: "You don't need more than a credit card above." The waiters were friendly but not necessarily very professional. Drinks menu was cleared with the first drink. The food was ok, but not outstanding. Of course, the view over Berlin makes up for a lot! Overall, a nice evening.

Great restaurant with high quality gourmet food! The service is outstanding as well. We took the 3 courses menu and there was a lot of fantastic food, including caviar. The prices are not cheap, but the experience is worth every penny. The view is also very beautiful and it adds to an overall atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The food is very good and the ambiance is very nice. However, the music that echoes from the upper floor to the lower floor gets quite loud in the evenings. The service isn't bad either, but the level of professionalism is a bit below what I'd expect for these prices.

Actually a great evening - unfortunately it was total chaos when picking up the coat. We brought back two tags, one had the jacket we wanted on it, the other didn't. Luckily we found our missing jacket at a different number. Then we were supposed to be deducted €10 because the brands in the cloakroom were obviously mixed up and we didn't have the right one. When we didn't want to pay this, the employee in charge said we were disrespectful and drunk. It's a shame because this event completely ruined what was actually a lovely evening. In the end, we were able to get our jackets back at no additional cost, but only under the insinuations and accusations. Simply not beautiful. In contrast, the bar staff should be highlighted positively.

The staff was so rude we decided to leave. We cancelled our order and left. Every drink we orders took 20 minutes to arrive and after we asked 3 times. This happend 2 times and the third time we left. The food was good but the staff ruined the entire experience. Do not recommend, I was fuming. I don’t want a single cent of my money in their pockets

So the view and the service are worth a visit. We were served very nicely according to all the rules of the art. Very attentive and very kind. But unfortunately the food wasn't nearly up to par. I found the selection on the menu very suspicious. I didn't see such a clear line. (But maybe it's just me) the products I ordered were unfortunately unappetizing, the wild herb salad wasn't good and the cordon bleu wasn't anything special either, but the pork belly was the low point. It was very wobbly in consistency. I expected everything to be different. Unfortunately I was disappointed for the price. Since the spectacular cocktail bar on the floor above us was very good, we gave the place another chance. Also due to the service.

A really nice rooftop location in the center of Berlin. We were very friendly and accompanied through the evening and decided on the Wagyu. All in all a great evening. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the bar anymore. But it's still worth stopping by.

This place is magnificent 🤩, breathtaking view of the city. Warm welcome and very good meal!! Unfortunately, we were seated near a table of 8 people, completely disrespectful, (who spoke extremely loudly, behaved without embarrassment, etc.). So in the end, the evening was a bit difficult to communicate and unpleasant.

The lady downstairs is so rude. She will practically throw your coats at you. The food was alright ish, the service could really be better. The music & view are great though!

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day at Solar. The Wagyu beef steak and lobster were delicious! The side dishes were perfect and the homemade bread with fresh butter was a dream! We were served so warmly by the waiters, the team is top notch! And then of course the wonderful view! All in one 5/5 stars!

2 stars only for the view you can get from the tables by the glass window at the bar! The service was very bad, waiters mixing orders and serving wrong drinks. The drinks were also very overpriced for what they offer The music was also not great. Would not recommend for a night out

A bar with a very, very down-to-earth crowd. That doesn't have to be a bad thing, but it's not my case. But the drinks were completely overpriced and tasted horrible. I don't mind paying 18 euros for a good drink. But then it has to be of good quality. That's really not the case here... The view is nice, but the interior is past its best. The staff was at least friendly.

Great place to celebrate. We had a great company event above the rooftops of the city. I really like the balanced size and interior design of the rooms on two floors. Food, drink and service were excellent for us. Now we had another lovely evening there with great bar drinks after a concert at the Tempodrom

The solar bar is something special. I only had one drink as the bar is quite pricey; So I can't say anything about the food. This place would be perfect for a fancy date, or just a relaxed meeting with friends. Service was nice (except for the lady at the cloakroom who reacted annoyed when I didn't understand her acoustically).

The staff is extremely friendly, which you can feel as soon as you enter the restaurant. The waitress was extremely pleasant and courteous, and the service left nothing to be desired. We were recommended new cocktails that were not only creative but incredibly delicious. The DJ tried everything to fulfill our wishes and did his best to make us happy with Spanish music. The overall atmosphere was very inviting and the view over the whole of Berlin was breathtaking. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience – I will definitely visit you again the next time I am in Berlin!

Have you ever been to a restaurant where every dish you try is a 10/10? I've never had an experience like that. There is always at least one dish or more that don't hit the spot. Not here - from appetizers to main courses to dessert. Every single dish was outstanding. Well done and my compliments to the chef. I never rate anything more than 9.5, but this place, this place is a 10.

Sensational restaurant. First of all, the glass-enclosed (not the floor) elevator is a good place to start, after you've had your jackets removed and been taken to the elevator. As you drive up you can already see the direction of the zoo. Once at the top you have a view of the entire city, especially from the bar one floor up, which can be reached via an internal spiral staircase. The restaurant is modern, but cozy thanks to the lighting and furniture. The food, however, is the essence of the poodle: sensationally tasty, very unusual creations and stunningly aromatic. The drinks, especially the wine, are also special. The service is 'typically Berliner', which is very okay for me. The prices are of course rather high. However, considering all aspects such as location, service, quality of food and drinks, it is very appropriate. The 'popcorn cocktail' is a blast, but you should leave at least one ball in the glass until the end for the aroma. Another note outside of the review: I don't think I'm going there with a football shirt, but that was also allowed. Ergo: no dress code.

I've been to Solar many times and celebrated my birthday there this year. As always, the food itself was great, the view was beautiful and the service was very nice. However, after eating (it started about an hour later), 6 out of 13 people had severe gastrointestinal problems. I wrote this to the restaurant the next day and didn't even get a response. I was really disappointed when you spend so much money. There can always be something wrong with the food or a combination that doesn't go together. As I said, I've been to you many times, but the fact that you don't feel the need to respond to my email after collecting the money is really very weak.

It doesn't get any better than this in all respects. 5 stars superior ++++!

I had the great pleasure of using the Solar Bar Restaurant Lounge in Berlin as a private party as part of an event, and it was an all-round successful evening that exceeded all expectations. The ambience is modern, stylish and yet pleasantly relaxed. A special highlight is of course the unique view, which gives the location an incomparable touch. Great ambience, sunset is fantastic if you get a good spot. The music is not too loud. If the boss serves you personally it's a dream, unfortunately he, like everyone else, probably has a problem finding good workers. I can still highly recommend the solar, even the elevator ride is a feast for the eyes.

Wonderful place, drinks expensive for Berlin standards but okay Too bad they made us pay twice saying that the payment had not been successful. Update: after contacting the support email we were refunded the extra bill.

The place is a bit crowded, everyone were v close to each other but the food was very delicious.

If you want to have a stylish, exclusive, cozy evening - don't go there. The music is so loud that you have to yell and you sit on cheap plastic chairs. Also, the table was still full of liquids from the guests before and the service didn't care to clean that up before seating us. Cocktail was okay.

Absolutely recommended restaurant. The event started at the door. The reception was the first highlight, the bouncer. He knows what he's doing, finds the right words and makes the guest feel special before he takes the guests on the journey up in the glass elevator. The ambience cannot be beat. With the view over the city. After a reception in the bar, which is one floor above the restaurant, we dined in the restaurant. The menu was excellent, the products were of the best quality and absolutely innovative. We were able to show our international guests Berlin at its most beautiful, stylish, trendy and hip... The service was friendly, attentive and professional, everything arrived in a timely manner, beautifully presented and arranged.

Disappointing. We were a group of 14 friends. They charged us for two covers (€154) for absence due to COVID, even though we gave two days' notice, they wanted to sneak us three bottles of wine (at €50 each) (they served without asking), and we were able to discuss two with them. The food leaves a lot to be desired for a fixed price of €77 per head. And after all this they complained about the tip, we were stupid, we left €70! The only decent thing is the view when you go up in the elevator. We cost more than €100 per beard
