Very good restaurant, welcoming staff, nice atmosphere. Value for money, however, is poor because the prices are very high.

Food was great, service staff gave a great recommendation for food and drinks. I came on a date and the entrance and decor set the tone, and from there we had a great laugh with the staff, shout out to Anna, Ignacio and Sofia. We left full, a little tipsy and very satisfied. Will defo come again!

Here, I encountered a racist waiter named Anisa. She was friendly and showed the others to their seats, but because I was Asian, she refused to seat us, saying there were no seats available, even though there were. Thankfully, another female waiter, knowing there were plenty of seats at the bar, guided us to our seats, and we were finally able to eat. She also told everyone else behind us that they had seats available, which really made me feel uncomfortable. While I was satisfied with the food and the friendly staff, the unpleasant feeling I felt upon entering persisted throughout my stay. I had been looking forward to my meal, but it was a truly disappointing and unpleasant experience. Please see the photo for the silhouette of the woman who offended me. I urge Asians to be cautious.

Very, very loud. Food quite decent. Wines too expensive for the dishes offered. Open wines unremarkable. Service brings the food. You shout at each other all evening. Conversation impossible. You just want to leave as quickly as possible. Enjoyment impossible. No soundproofing installed. This is a place where noisy tourists are processed. NEVER AGAIN!

First of all, the building, garden, and all exterior and interior spaces are simply beautiful. The ambience is truly wonderful—atmospheric and modern—and the personnel were very friendly and attentive. However, for the price point, the food was honestly average. While it was beautifully served, we expected better quality and taste. Additionally, we found the place listed as romantic, but I would not call it that due to the loud music (they had a DJ). I can definitely rather imagine this as a place to hang out with friends.

The four of us, including two children, went to Katz Orange and had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere is very cozy, and you immediately feel at home in the old brewery building. The dishes are creative and prepared with high-quality, regional ingredients…we were particularly impressed by the slow-braised "candy on the bone" meat. The food was also great for children; there were delicious options that everyone enjoyed. The service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The prices are a bit higher, but the quality and the experience are definitely worth it. A real highlight for the whole family that we highly recommend!

Very cozy and friendly restaurant with amazing food and cocktails. The salmon from Jütland is honestly the best I've ever tasted and don't leave without trying the crème brûlée!

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, with attentive but never intrusive service. A plus? The Italian waiter and chef, who flawlessly combined Mediterranean hospitality and local tradition. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but that's precisely why it has the charm of unexpected discoveries. A place truly worth discovering—we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful lay out, can be a good area for functions 👍🏻 Better to have the reservation first. We ordered a beef brisket and cauliflower, both were very delicious 😋 Home made sausages also good. The waiters were nice to foreigners too.

We had a wonderful evening at Katz Orange. The ambiance in the courtyard and in the restaurant is beautiful; we definitely have to come back in the summer when you can sit outside, but the interior is also impressive. All the service staff were very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. And then the food 😍 I haven't eaten as well as I did at this restaurant in a long time. The menu is concise, but that doesn't make choosing any easier, as everything sounds delicious! We had the pork and the beef with sweetcorn puree and cauliflower. The meat was so tender it fell apart on your fork, and the side dishes were the perfect complement! We definitely have to come back to try the rest of the menu!

The food was fantastic! It was a bit noisy upstairs for conversation. Strangely, I received the same cocktail in a smaller glass when I reordered for the same price. No explanation was given, so I can only give the service 3 points.

I was disappointed. Many years ago, I had been to Katz Orange – this time, many things seemed different, unfortunately not for the better. The lighting is poor, and there are broken plastic fans in the room. The service was constantly changing; we were asked twice for our food order. The prosecco was not tasty. The food was also disappointing: The meat, ordered medium-well, arrived bloody. After complaining, we received it back dry and tough – which is not medium-well either. We skipped dessert and left.

Good food but prices are a bit too high

A unique evening - thanks to Jessica! We accidentally stumbled upon this beautiful and unique venue. We sat at the bar, and bartender Jessica made us incredibly delicious drinks and shared her new creations with us. She even gave us a tour of the shop and told us the story behind their creation. A great evening, fantastic drinks - we won't soon forget it :)

We did the family sharing meal option. We loved everything we ate. Food was good quality, prepared well and tasted really great. The atmosphere was chic and warm. Service was fine. I would definitely come here again.

Lovely food, great cocktails, a vibey vibe. However the staff lacks charm, they are polite and helpful but missing that special extra to make you think "wow, that was amazing." They also read my note regarding seating ("quiet seat for easier hearing") and took it on board (fab) but alas, quiet action would have been better ("hey elderly people, we are making edits for your aging issues"). Both upstairs and downstairs bars looked lovely.

Magic place, with this story of the gourmet they let you happily pay about 30€ for half cauliflower grilled. Ridiculously expensive, hilarious if I remember that when I was a child cauliflower was a kind of punishment for misbehaving during the day. Please do not tell me that I do not understand your finesse, this would be not true as I am talking about the price of the dish as cauliflower is always cauliflower, at the most an intelligent management intuition to have good margins that I do recognize. There is a limit to everything, I will stop going around for restaurants, if this story does not end sooner or later. The service and the atmosphere is anyway cool. This was not the first time I went there, most probably the very last.

The place was beautiful and the service exceptional. The girl who served us was always very attentive and made it incredible considering we were a very large table. However, the prices caught our attention. On the phone, they told us the menu was €55 per person—it ended up being €68. They also charged for absolutely EVERYTHING, even the bottles of water (which they brought more without asking and took away before we even finished them) and the bread (which makes no sense not to be included in such an expensive dinner). Between that and what we had, it ended up being around €100 per person. While I really liked the restaurant, that price left me with a bitter feeling of lack of information and that it wasn't worth the expense.

The place is even more beautiful than the photos. Alina served us lovingly and guided us through everything. The menu combines ingredients in an original and exquisite way. The whole is not the sum of its parts. We tried ceviche, potatoes, salmon, and crème brûlée; everything was incredible. We ate at the bar, where the bartender was attentive to every detail. Without a doubt, one of our best dining experiences in Berlin. ❤️

I love this place for its atmosphere — it’s been my favorite restaurant for many years. But last time I didn’t enjoy the food. I had a steak — it wasn’t good, overcooked. Now I prefer stopping by for a glass of champagne at the bar.

You're charmed from the moment you arrive. The building is superb (a former brewery), and the terrace is very pleasant. Very good homemade slow-cooked meat specialties.

The restaurant looks beautiful from the outside, and it's pleasant to relax on the terrace. We had both options for the long-cooked meat. It was quite tasty, but not particularly special. A few minor issues with the service: all two-person tables were still empty when we arrived with our reservations, and we were initially offered a table near the kitchen exit. The dishes consisted solely of the meat, and the waiter insisted that it wasn't enough and that a side dish was needed. That's fine, but if the standard portion is too small, I would adjust that to the normal portion. It seems like a trick to stack dishes to justify a higher price. The fact that a mini container of sauce with the fries was another €2 extra adds to that suspicion.

The food was pricey but amazing. Loved the location, just be aware there are a lot of mosquitoes by the river. The service was unfortunately not good at all. We had a rude waiter who would rarely even take our orders, and if asked for something he would always roll his eyes or give a rude comment. Also had to look for the waiter all the time, I don’t really like it’s be in a restaurant where you permanently have to look for a waiter and then have to try to catch their attention.

Unfortunately, not what it used to be. I was with a group of colleagues and was very happy to bring them here because of my past positive experiences with Katz Orange. However, this time the service was sub-par to say the least. Two of my colleagues ordered the same dish and the waiter brought one piece of meat in one serving and quoted that, "Its two portions" expecting two people to "split it". Leaving the small portion side aside, the least they could do is to bring at least two servings (even if they cut it in half in the kitchen). One of my colleagues also ordered a drink along with the main course. First, they forgot it and on reminding, they still brought it 10 mins later and that too the wrong one! Another waiter started picking up the plates without asking while one person was still eating (and we were only there for 30 mins at a non busy time - the reservation was for 2.5 hrs) You don't go to such a place for "just the food", you go there for experience. Sadly - it was disappointing to say the least. The staff also had an antagonizing demeanor towards all customers there. I was quite embarassed in front of my colleagues at a place that I so highly recommended them. Not going back again. ++ Not surprised at other negative reviews. The management needs to rethink, how to train their staff better and teach them to ask for customer feedback.

Overall not recommend. Ordered the specialty pork, which was very dry and came with no side, for almost 30€. The salmon was "meh" in the sense that it's cooking style is very similar to what you would make at home for a quarter of the price, or buy in the average lunch place for a half. The waiter openly rolled her eyes at us in disappointment when we opted not to drink booze. We were sitted on the upper floor, which is noisy, facing inwards and so didn't even get to truely enjoy the location. We had to get something extra to eat afterwards. Disappointing. Unless you are sitted outside - don't bother.

We had a relaxed dinner yesterday at Katz Orange. The location is beautiful and offers a wonderful atmosphere. The service was also very friendly and attentive, we felt very welcome. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. We ordered the 10-hour braised steak and pork. While the atmosphere and service were excellent, the dishes were almost disappointing: the pork was so dry it was almost impossible to chew, and overall the meal felt like something I could have prepared at home. A real pity with such a great atmosphere, I had hoped for more from the kitchen.

Wow!!! First of all, let's start by saying that the tag calling this place a German restaurant is so incorrect. I don't love German restaurants, and nearly missed out on this amazing gem because of this. This is an international and sophisticated cuisine restaurant in a chill and unpretentious environment. As soon as you walk through the entryway into the courtyard - you're transport to a different realm. The unique structure, which I think was a brewery once, is spectacular both day and night. We've had delicious burrata salad, soir doigh bread, fries, fresh ceviche, Candy on a stick (what they call their brisket), Salmon, and amazing drinks. Thr cocktail menu is creative and I wanted to taste everything! Ended up trying Parti a la Plage, Pickeltini 2.0 and Fabulous - all we're sophisticated and delicious. Service was spectacular as well. One note: the restaurant encourages you to taste everything - and as such, dishes aren't big. Take this into consideration, and order a little bit of everything :) You cannot come to Berlin and not try this place - this is gorgeous!!

Just wow. Tried most of the starters and seconds. All were prepared and served to perfection. I wholeheartedly recommend the duroc pork and cauliflower. Shaved ice cream for desserts was a top. It goes without saying they've got great wine selection and culture to match. Service was just on the other level. Kind and very experienced staff. Table felt attended and cared for at all times even when we came at busy night. The outside seating was comfortable, easy to talk, good distance from other tables. Overall amazing experience. Happy to have had an opportunity to pop by.

As a tourist from Australia, Katz Orange was a truly pleasurable way to experience local farm foods with all the contemporary appeal of texture, flavor, presentation and ambiance, packaged with impeccable service. We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary. If you go without a reservation, you're likely to miss out. From the moment you enter, the restaurant's ambiance and atmosphere truly captivate you. The food was truly delicious and fine dining. Since we couldn't get along with the waiter, he referred a Turkish friend and gave us some great recommendations. We were grateful. The prices were a bit high compared to the Berlin average, but it was a wonderful experience. They even gave us dessert as a gift for celebrating our anniversary. Thank you.

Food - nothing special and overpriced. Typical Berlin staff - nobody speaks German. Went with two people to have a quick dinner. Place was not that full and still managed to get some table in a cloaca with no view to the outside.

Cool ambience - great service - very good food

We chose Katz Orange to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, hoping for a warm and memorable evening. Unfortunately, while there were some highlights, the whole experience fell short of expectations. We were initially seated at a shared bench area with little privacy, despite mentioning our special occasion. After requesting a change, we were moved to a more comfortable table. The hostess and food runners were especially kind, but the main server was polite yet distant. Our drinks arrived late—only with the main courses—and my glass was chipped. After two requests, I drank from the damaged glass to avoid further delay. Food quality was mixed. The salmon ceviche was magnificent, while the asparagus lacked flavor and had poor texture. The brisket was tasty. Desserts were average, though we appreciated a complimentary second dessert. Overall, while some dishes stood out and the ambiance was nice, the rushed and inattentive service, combined with the portion sizes, impacted the experience. Considering the price of the dishes, we expected a higher level of attention and quality. For a special occasion, Katz Orange did not meet our expectations.

Food is very delicious and uncommon. Prices are fair. Ambiente was not fitting to the food experience. Loud Music, louder people, hard & uncomfy chairs. Service was bad. Always feel pushed to order more and the behavior was overall very unproffessional but friendly. Service personal should make guest feel pleasant and not the opposit way. The concept of the menu is not clear. It should be explained and recommandations for combinations & meal sizes should be given.

The location (and the bathrooms) is really nice: classic, warm, elegant, modern. The food was good, but the value for money was not entirely adequate. For four people, we paid €210 for one main course each, three side dishes, a glass of wine each, and a shared dessert that had initially been forgotten in the order.

Katz Orange was in a stylish beautiful old brick building with outdoor tables in a courtyard surrounded by the restaurants indoor seating on three sides. The hostess and wait staff were welcoming and the table was relaxed wood, beautifully set. The menu was small but appealing. I started with the watermelon, tomato and feta salad. It was a large portion super fresh, with the most amazing blend of savory and sweet flavors. I then had the beef short ribs with yogurt and gravy sauces. Fall of the bone delicious. The portion size was solid and more than enough for one, but it comes with 2nd helpings included, but I was full. I also had the potato and leek tartlet as a side, good size and perfectly crispy and cheesy. The waiter brough a few sweets and a digestive for me, probably because he disappeared for a while, a minor issue. A larger wine list by the glass (they could use a Sancerre and a Vermentino) and more expansive drink menu would be the only improvement I would suggest. By far the best restaurant so far on day 4 of a 6 day visit to Berlin from this veteran of the NYC fine dining restaurant scene.

This place is even better than it looks online. Intimate setting, attentive yet not overbearing staff and the very rare achievement - innovative locally sourced comfort food. If I lived in this neighborhood I could see eating here a couple of days per week. Extra points for getting to eat in a well cared for historic German building.

A restaurant with modern, all-you-can-eat dishes, attention to detail, and very attentive service. Located in a stunning courtyard. I generally had a great time; everything was high-quality, and we received excellent advice on the wine selection, especially the drinks, which were excellent. It must be said that overall, I found the bill a bit pricey.

A beautiful location, we sat in the courtyard, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. We had the watermelon with feta and the burrata as starters. They were delicious. For our main course, we had the tagliatelle and the Duroc pork slow-cooked for 12 hours. Both were also delicious. Highly recommended.
