Fantastic location. We had a wonderful evening.

We visited this place today for the first time in a long time, since the recent change of management. The welcome was very friendly, and the service was initially very attentive. The food took a little longer to prepare. On a positive note, a total of six different dishes for nine people arrived at the table at the same time. We also liked that the children's dishes were the "regular" dishes for 60 percent of the price of the menu. So, basically, the kids can order almost anything from the menu. Unfortunately, the service lapsed a bit towards the end. It was still a very nice meal, with very good quality food. We will definitely come back!

I was out with my husband over the weekend. We got a table quickly. The schnitzel wasn't worth the price! For €30, we expected a delicious meal, and here we were, with a terrible surprise! More breading than meat! Tough meat! It stank of old oil 🤢🤢 Tasteless, bland salad. My pasta was overcooked. It tasted awful. I don't think it was freshly cooked. Nice place, but the food wasn't good. The waiter was friendly 👍 The restroom was clean.

Food is snack quality. Veal schnitzel for 30 euros were numerous dry fried pieces, goulash was overcooked (no more pieces), napkin dumplings were rock hard. You sit well, service is good.

Beautiful evening on the canal We were in this beautiful restaurant right on the canal last night and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic – you can sit in the sun for a long time and enjoy the special atmosphere to the fullest. The food was outstanding! The menu is deliberately kept manageable, which we found very pleasant - every dish is prepared with a lot of love. The staff is very friendly, we particularly noticed the lady from France because of her warm nature. We had already heard a conversation last year in which it became clear how committed the boss is. Now we could see how much he has changed and improved over the winter months - the restaurant has become really beautiful. A place where you can sit down and enjoy the food. We'll definitely be back!

Traditional place, you sit comfortably on the terrace by the canal and can watch the boats sail past... Staff is friendly, competent and motivated. The dishes are for those with fewer eaters. Half portions possible!! Nice audience.

Pleasant place on the canal, sometimes very friendly service. However, the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired, which does not correspond to the high prices. The appetizer was very small, the cheese spaetzle was too soft and the goulash, which had a lot of gristle and had probably been cooked through for a long time, was missing the dumplings, but no one noticed that. Puree as a replacement came relatively late, no price reduction or other goodie. Prices for drinks and desserts at the higher end. Conclusion: culinary disappointment (my home cooking tastes better), you pay for the view. Nice for a drink on a summer evening, but we won't be eating there anymore.

We were very satisfied with our visit to the Söhnel Restaurant. The food was excellent – ​​freshly prepared, very tasty and beautifully presented. No recommendation. Waited 2 hours. Salmon was spoiled and Maultaschen were fresh from the frozen food.

In fact, a total failure. The asparagus cream soup was not edible, the pea soup was only slightly better, even the sausages were in warm water for a maximum of 30 seconds. Service was nice and tried to sort everything out, but the soups were still charged at 50%. It's a shame, we expected otherwise

Unfortunately, the celebration of my birthday in the Söhnel Restaurant was disastrous in terms of gastronomic matters, although my wife and I spent a lot of time planning the event - sometimes together with Mr. Becker, the restaurant owner. Most of our wishes were not taken into account at all. And the several hours (!) delays in serving the food, which were unacceptable for the guests, were unfortunately not the only negative thing about that evening. It started with the menu card not being available - when it finally came, it was also wrong. We continued with the wrong or missing starters. The salmon tartare was not ordered, the beetroot carpaccio was missing and the au gratin mushrooms and the Pimientos de Padrón were only served after repeated requests. Unfortunately, the quality of the desserts was also poor. The apricot dumplings were “raw”, i.e. not heated enough, and the large lumps of flour that were neither torn nor properly caramelized could not really be described as Kaiserschmarrn. Apparently these desserts were served without final inspection by the chef. We would have expected an experienced and customer-oriented restaurant manager to point out any delays and other problems right from the start, to apologize for them over the course of the evening and to ask the guests for their forbearance and patience. The latter had to be taken over by his very nice and careful - but ultimately helpless - service person. My guests will certainly have a lasting memory of this gastronomic disaster during my birthday party.

The staff were absolutely outstanding - attentive, friendly and very professional. You immediately felt welcome. The food was also excellent. Every dish was perfectly prepared and tasted delicious. I was particularly impressed by the variety and freshness of the ingredients. The location itself is also great - it is right on the water and is very cozy at the same time, with a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to a relaxing evening. I can only warmly recommend the Söhnel restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Aussicht super , man sitzt hier echt gut . Service unterirdisch , 40 Minuten auf Kaffee gewartet , Kaiserschmarren waren echt lecker ..wurden ohne Apfelmus serviert . Auf die Frage wo das ist , wusste es der Kellner auch nicht . Kellner wirken unbeholfen , Geschirr wird nicht zeitnah abgeräumt .. da ist noch Luft nach oben …

I am very reluctant to recommend this place. I think the price screw is being adjusted a lot here due to the very nice ambience. We had hot chocolate with whipped cream. Every drink looked different, it wasn't hot, the spoons came 5 minutes later and the taste had nothing to do with chocolate. The waiting time was unbearably long, even though it wasn't full. I don't recommend this place and I won't stop there again.

Today we were able to experience the restaurant for the first time on the great terrace right on the water. Very quiet location, great atmosphere inside and out. Food (fried chicken and fried salmon) was excellent. Very friendly service, we will definitely be back! Here’s to a good season!!

We always felt comfortable, friendly service, good food and a great location on the Teltow Canal.

We were at Soehnel for the first time on March 15, 2025, were served very attentively by Alexander and Cissi and informed about the new concept! The food, beer and champagne were wonderful, the table by the window was perfect for 4 people and, to our delight, was beautifully set, as it should be, with a white tablecloth and cloth napkins! The dishes were also traditionally served on white porcelain. The staff, the beautiful beer garden and the newly made terrace by the water are waiting for the start of the season, we wish you all the best and will come back soon! Then we'll talk again about my planned birthday party in July. Kind regards!

Great location!!! Very accommodating people. If there was a small deficit in a court, “compensation” was offered immediately!!

And especially when Alex is serving, the sun shines on the terrace even in moderate weather. Total service with pillows, blankets and the best chews. A real professional who loves his job! Where else is that? The food and view were great. Thanks for two hours of vacation ;).

Absolutely disappointing! We waited for 30 minutes without a waiter even paying attention to us. We even tried to speak to a waiter to place our order but he just didn't show up again. We ended up leaving the restaurant without eating anything. The service was simply catastrophic. An hour of our evening wasted. I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant.

We just waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order and clear the table. We spoke to the staff twice and were still ignored. The staff only makes individual trips, i.e. bringing food or clearing dishes, but not both at the same time. Completely inefficient and not recommended. It's a shame, it's a great location and the restaurant could have potential. Are now at Ciao next door and were served immediately!

We spontaneously came to the Söhnel Restaurant on a sunny afternoon and were able to enjoy a sunny spot on the terrace right by the water. We were very surprised at the relatively low prices of the food and drink menu (given the great ambience and the good quality of the food). We were served very nicely by Alex and are looking forward to visiting the restaurant again soon and spending a nice time by the water.

Clear air, pleasantly quiet, nice atmosphere, decent prices

Apparently the hospitality has changed here, which is a big advantage. Even though I used to love going there (after dog walking in the nearby exercise area), my companion and I have never had such a good meal there. We had the goulash and the salmon - both were very good. Extensive renovation work has been carried out on the beautifully situated terrace; the seating and tables are also new. I'm looking forward to better weather when using the terrace will be more fun again.

Yes, but only visited twice, probably since new management. But this one did good. I had actually avoided this restaurant after a bad experience under the old staff. What should be particularly mentioned here is the absolutely friendly service, a pleasant atmosphere and a very tasty lunch. My 2nd visit was with my 96 year old mother. Actually we just wanted coffee and cake. Unfortunately, the friendly service couldn't help with this at this time of year, as cake is asked for very little at this time of year and therefore usually gets old. An argument I could live with. However, we were recommended some delicacies from the menu, which were a good substitute for cake. I can also highly recommend the absolutely good cappuccino. I will definitely visit this restaurant often, especially in the summer.

We were in the restaurant with 6 people (4 adults, 2 children) on a gray winter Saturday. Despite the unfriendly weather, you immediately feel at home in the pleasant and bright surroundings. Super friendly, unbeatably personable and friendly service. We had chestnut soup, fried chicken, Kaiserschmarren. Chestnut soup is great, Kaiserschmarren should be more fluffy for my taste. The guests were satisfied, I'm a bit more demanding and found the fried chicken more of a beer garden standard. Conclusion: Overwhelmingly satisfied and we would be happy to come back.

Sunday 01/19/25 - booking at 2:45 p.m. We were quickly assigned a table but no service for 20 minutes. Then we left with an empty stomach. If the restaurant is empty during the week, you can eat quite well.

It's just a well-rounded affair, in a great location and the food is as it should be - good cuisine with dishes that are on point! Especially the fried chicken and the goulash. But also the pasta... But try it yourself 🤓

The Söhnel has been resurrected, very good food, wonderful wines and a service that leaves nothing to be desired, you can tell that they know their craft at the Söhnel. After so many difficult years, things are looking up, we'll definitely be back.

We had the prawns as a starter and then the fried chicken - both excellent, the potato salad could have been lukewarm. But everything was great, the service was pleasant and very attentive! Really good in winter! We're also looking forward to summer by the water!! A great discovery!

The four of us stopped in for roast goose...at first skeptical about the relatively empty restaurant, we were disabused...super friendly service, a leg of goose and breast that was second to none, it was so delicious, a chestnut soup freshly cooked for us by the boss , it was an all-round successful evening with a repeat effect...thank you very much and see you next time!

This is the third time we've eaten there and we've been very satisfied every time. In the run-up to Christmas there was delicious goose, venison goulash, cinnamon parfait with prunes and baked apple. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended! Apparently under new management for 5 months. The Alpine cuisine is very good, the atmosphere is modern and cozy with a beautiful fireplace (there could be two of them in the large restaurant), cloth napkins and professionally set tables! The service is friendly and the prices are moderate. We'll definitely be back!

Sat by the water in a beautiful autumnal atmosphere and drank coffee. The waiter was very humorous and attentive. It was fun☺️. We'll be back and would love to try something from the menu.

The service seemed a bit overwhelmed even though it wasn't really busy. But was always friendly. And although the order was clearly communicated and confirmed, two incorrect dishes arrived. The potato soup wasn't much better than canned soup, unfortunately I have to say. Thin and not very aromatic. Luckily the cake was good. So it's OK for coffee and cake, but not for food in my opinion.

The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent. Beautifully souffled breading and wonderful potato salad. Lavish portion. Käsespätzle were also delicious and powerful. Service was also very nice and friendly.

We were there for the third time, sat twice in the outdoor area directly on the quiet canal, the first time just had a drink and the second time we ate a good real Wiener Schnitzel. The other day, when the weather was cooler, we were indoors, right next to the cozy, warm fireplace. All the tables were set in white, with glasses and cloth napkins - we wouldn't have expected that in a restaurant. This time there was goulash with napkin dumplings, a good red wine or a cellar beer - everything was again very tasty and at moderate prices. If you want, you can dock by boat - and now, even in winter, you can enjoy the great atmosphere between the forest, lake and canal, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We will be back soon and are also looking forward to the good service.

Today we visited the Söhnel restaurant with friends. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a very nice table right by the fireplace, the ambience is simply great with a view of the water. The menu is very appealing, we had Wiener Schnitzel, goulash, cheese spaetzle and a salad with scampi. We maintain peace all around, and the wine selection is also very appealing. We rounded off the evening with Kaiserschmarn and apricot dumplings. Many thanks to the friendly service staff, it was a very nice evening and we will come back soon!

For many weeks now, I've been with my mother almost every week after the weekly shop for a latte machiato and a latte. A beautiful place on the water, nice service for a little chat, ships come by, the green fairway buoys glow in the evening light and we have already seen kingfishers twice, a magical place and not just for my mother.

I don't come just for the apricot dumplings, but I never leave without them! New: from October onwards there will even be breakfast on weekends.

**Disappointing experience at an otherwise well-rated restaurant** We visited the Soehnel Werft restaurant on Friday with a larger group of around 60 people and were excited about the buffet due to the positive feedback so far. Unfortunately, our anticipation was disappointed. Overall, the buffet didn't seem particularly lovingly or imaginatively designed. The biggest problem, however, was the quality and availability of the food: Unfortunately, the meat was still raw in many places and there was not enough refills, so some of our guests remained hungry or had to wait a long time. The service couldn't make up for this either - the waiter was new and tried hard, but it was obvious that he was overwhelmed in many situations. We expected more given the reputation of the hotel. It would be nice if more attention was paid to the preparation and refilling of food in the future so that such incidents can be avoided in the future. We hope this feedback contributes to improvements as we continue to see the potential of the restaurant and would give it a second chance.

A perfect evening ❣️ We came to the full restaurant without a reservation and a table was immediately set up for us right by the water. The team was exceptionally attentive and friendly. We haven't had such top service for a long time. The food: a dream - entrécote of Black Angus prime rib from the grill and grilled salmon fillet with creamed vegetables, highly recommended! Plus the great ambience and the location on the Teltow Canal, there is even a jetty for smaller boats. An absolute recommendation from us!
