Söhnel Restaurant & Biergarten in Berlin

We were there for the third time, sat twice in the outdoor area directly on the quiet canal, the first time just had a drink and the second time we ate a good real Wiener Schnitzel. The other day, when the weather was cooler, we were indoors, right next to the cozy, warm fireplace. All the tables were set in white, with glasses and cloth napkins - we wouldn't have expected that in a restaurant. This time there was goulash with napkin dumplings, a good red wine or a cellar beer - everything was again very tasty and at moderate prices. If you want, you can dock by boat - and now, even in winter, you can enjoy the great atmosphere between the forest, lake and canal, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We will be back soon and are also looking forward to the good service.

Today we visited the Söhnel restaurant with friends. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a very nice table right by the fireplace, the ambience is simply great with a view of the water. The menu is very appealing, we had Wiener Schnitzel, goulash, cheese spaetzle and a salad with scampi. We maintain peace all around, and the wine selection is also very appealing. We rounded off the evening with Kaiserschmarn and apricot dumplings. Many thanks to the friendly service staff, it was a very nice evening and we will come back soon!

For many weeks now, I've been with my mother almost every week after the weekly shop for a latte machiato and a latte. A beautiful place on the water, nice service for a little chat, ships come by, the green fairway buoys glow in the evening light and we have already seen kingfishers twice, a magical place and not just for my mother.

It was great again! The beautifully located restaurant with new gastronomy has been open again for about half a year! Great ambience, friendly and competent service! Great food! I don't come just for the apricot dumplings, but I never leave without them! New: from October onwards there will even be breakfast on weekends.

A perfect evening ❣️ We came to the full restaurant without a reservation and a table was immediately set up for us right by the water. The team was exceptionally attentive and friendly. We haven't had such top service for a long time. The food: a dream - entrécote of Black Angus prime rib from the grill and grilled salmon fillet with creamed vegetables, highly recommended! Plus the great ambience and the location on the Teltow Canal, there is even a jetty for smaller boats. An absolute recommendation from us!

**Disappointing experience at an otherwise well-rated restaurant** We visited the Soehnel Werft restaurant on Friday with a larger group of around 60 people and were excited about the buffet due to the positive feedback so far. Unfortunately, our anticipation was disappointed. Overall, the buffet didn't seem particularly lovingly or imaginatively designed. The biggest problem, however, was the quality and availability of the food: Unfortunately, the meat was still raw in many places and there was not enough refills, so some of our guests remained hungry or had to wait a long time. The service couldn't make up for this either - the waiter was new and tried hard, but it was obvious that he was overwhelmed in many situations. We expected more given the reputation of the hotel. It would be nice if more attention was paid to the preparation and refilling of food in the future so that such incidents can be avoided in the future. We hope this feedback contributes to improvements as we continue to see the potential of the restaurant and would give it a second chance.

Great place to visit For several years I unsuspectingly drove past the Söhnel Werft on the S-Bahn and always thought that I would like to stop here because the facility looks very inviting from afar. Today, what should have happened a long time ago finally happened: a visit to the Söhnel restaurant in the most wonderful sunshine. When we arrived there were only a few guests there, so we didn't have to wait long. The service remained very friendly and attentive, even as it became increasingly full. The waiters were very challenged as there was a group of around 20 people who wanted to eat together. In addition to the very well-kept outdoor terraces of the restaurant with a view of Lake Griebnitz and the boats passing by with their passengers waving, there is also a very spacious and inviting beer garden on the premises, which offers many shady and sunny places on the Mediterranean-style terrace garden. The adjacent boathouse, which has been converted into an event location, is also worth visiting. We ate in the restaurant, and it was a good thing: garden salad, baked mushrooms and a clever goat cheese covered in caramelized honey were just the thing in the midday heat. I consider it a sign of quality when simple, vegetarian dishes are really well seasoned and generously served with fresh herbs. At the neighboring tables, the colorful audience, which ranged from cyclists and hikers to families and elegant older women, ate their food, especially the chanterelle dishes praised on the seasonal menu. All the plates that passed us were appetizingly prepared. There was nothing wrong with coffee and wine either. Thank you for the culinary short vacation, we will definitely be back!

Scheinbar eine neue Bewirtschaftung ! Und die jungen Leute haben nicht nur Mur, sondern auch ein dicke Portion Ahnung und Leidenschaft. Chapeau! Wir sind spontan als Familie hier zusammengekommen und haben neben den erstklassigen Snacks (trüffelpommes und Garnelen in knoblauchöl) auch noch 1-A Wiener Schnitzel, und Gartensalat gegessen. Der Service war unfassbar umsichtig und zu keinem Zeitpunkt zu viel..Ganz im Gegenteil, es gab immer ein nettes Lächeln oder einen freundlichen Spruch. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bald wieder. Vielen Dank.

Yesterday we had a small birthday party at Söhnel with about 15 guests. This restaurant was new to me, but such a pleasant and lovely surprise! Everything was perfect, the exceptionally attentive and friendly service, the buffet with delicious Mediterranean dishes and of course the idyllic ambience on the European waterway, the Teltow Canal. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Many thanks to the young, courageous and very friendly operator couple Celina and Dennis.

Endlich! Das Restaurant der Söhnel Werft wurde von echten Profis mit Herzblut für gute Gastronomie übernommen. Wir sind heute zum Mittagessen seit langem mal wieder dort gewesen und haben nicht schlecht gestaunt. Ok, die Location war schon immer besonders. Jetzt wird man dort aber auch noch sehr liebenswert empfangen. Das Essen ist spitze. Kaffee aus dem Profi-Siebträger - top. Dessert Geheimtipp: Marillenknödel. Preis-Leistung unschlagbar bei der Qualität. Dringende Empfehlung für alle, die was besonderes suchen oder einfach mal so wie wir dem Alltag entfliehen wollen.

We had a lovely end to the day right by the water. Very nice service and excellent food. We had the chicken, the schnitzel and the spaetzle. Very tasty throughout. The whole thing was rounded off with a sunset over the water. Highly recommended If the weather is good, a reservation is recommended.

Well, how do I write a review if I didn't get any service.... First of all, I really like the location and the ambience. After a 10 km hike, I wanted something to eat and drink there on Friday, August 9th at 12:15 shortly after it opened. As I had already seen from a distance, there were larger groups present and I thought it might take a little longer... A colleague who was probably completely new handed me the menu and I wanted to order a drink from him straight away. In this regard, he said that he couldn't do it, but rather his colleague, who would be coming shortly... That's the theory! Because the lady in question didn't come to the table after another 25 minutes! So hungry and thirsty, I left and went to the bus stop! Too bad, too bad

We have been guests in the restaurant several times and are thrilled every time; Last night we enjoyed a wonderful summer evening there with friends. In summer you can sit directly on the Teltow Canal under trees and umbrellas, so that you are protected even if there is a little rain or intense sun. It's nice to watch the ships and boats go by and enjoy some maritime flair. The menu isn't very extensive, but everything on offer is really fresh and tasty. There are also special specialties on offer, e.g. truffle fries - which are worth it. The price level is a bit high, but quite reasonable for the food on offer. Finally, the service is always very friendly and attentive. Everything is there for a perfect evening! Thanks to the team at Söhnel Restaurant!

Waiters had - hopefully - a really bad day, otherwise I'll lose faith... - Restaurant almost not visited - you sit down at one of the dozens of free places by the water - Waiter takes orders unfriendly and doesn't give guests a single glance - Instead of milk (as ordered) there is lactose-free milk - If asked, the milk is simply taken away and discussed loudly with other employees - the ordered drink (milk) arrives 15 minutes later, after the meal has already been completely consumed - zero reaction from the waiter - then there is a loud conversation with other employees about the fact that "guests with little things" should soon be in the beer garden and not by the water (apparently better places) - very unpleasant if you sit 2m away and it's obviously meant (only ordered cake + drink) - The bill is put down and you are made to wait 15 minutes until you go in and actively initiate the payment process again As I said, the food was delicious. But if the employees are always like that, I can only warmly advise against a visit.

Wir waren gestern auf dem Abiball unseres Sohnes dort Die Lokation war soweit OK schön am Wasser gelegen mit guter Musik. Das Essen war für ein Besonderes Ivent wie in Abiball dagegen nicht gut. Für den gezahlten Preis endtäuschend Vieles schmeckte nüchtern den Gemüsereis bekahm man kaum vom Löffel so weich gekocht war er Schade

We went here for dinner today and were very disappointed with the food. It's nice to sit by the water. But that was about it for the positive things. The Piccata Milanese was dry and came with almost raw vegetables and still hard potatoes. Update: Tried again in June 2024. Everything is fried. Also zander and chicken. So talking about cuisine is an exaggeration.

Everything is perfect here - location, service & food! The location is simply fantastic on the water. The atmosphere is modern and loving. The beer garden is “rustic” cozy. The entire staff was very friendly and incredibly attentive at all times. I had asparagus with pike perch, which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The chef knows what he is doing. My complaint about the food was corrected very friendly and quickly. I received a completely newly prepared plate. I can't say anything about the prices at this point because our visit was for a confirmation party. The women's restroom is handicapped accessible and equipped with various feminine hygiene products, something I have never seen in any restaurant restroom. We'll definitely be back.

The service was extremely friendly, helpful and quick at the beginning, which unfortunately decreased somewhat as the restaurant became fuller, but was understandable for us. The food was really delicious, the asparagus still had some bite, the pike perch was fried to perfection. Everyone at the table was very happy with their food. Luckily there was an asparagus menu that also offered parsley potatoes, otherwise according to the menu there was mostly mashed potatoes, which I personally don't like at all. I'll eat that later in the retirement home.😉 The only criticism is that there is only 1 toilet at a time, which is definitely far too few and led to a queue. This should be remedied at least for the gardening season.

Good location on the Teltow Canal. But that was all. Wiener Schnitzel with asparagus and parsley potatoes for €28.90. The schnitzel was well made and tasted good. The finished potatoes were cold as was the hollandaise sauce. The 3 stalks of asparagus are still hard. No toilet paper or paper towels in the toilets. The “boss” was completely overwhelmed with 6 guests. Apparently the service staff transferred him. No cutlery for eating. Only upon request. Never again.

First things first: the food tastes good and the location by the water is great. Service is a total disaster and it wasn't a bad day or an exception as you can read from the reviews. Enough waiters but everyone is confused, no one knows which table is where and who orders what. -Waited 1.5 hours for food -waited half an hour for a juice and ordered again -got the wrong drink -at entrecôte, which costs just under €30, you ordered potato puree and got normal potatoes instead, but you were happy that the food arrived at all and didn't feel like bringing it up so it would take another hour -There were four of us there and the others' food wasn't even warm anymore -There was no accomodation, no drink on the house or anything else, it was accepted as a normal situation. Because we spent 2 hours or more there, it was the same at other tables, waiters didn't know who ordered what and were wasted running around with drinks and food. It was the first restaurant in 10 years where I didn't leave a tip, even if the waiters couldn't help it The most you can go there for is a coffee, although you'll probably get a Fanta instead.

We were there on Mother's Day. Had a place on the terrace. Nice water view. The service needs improvement. Long wait for drinks. Even longer wait for food. When you looked into the dining room you could see service staff standing around. The performance offered does not match the price.

I love this location - especially nice for a sundowner. Very friendly, hard-working, attentive staff. I was so happy that the bad Italian was out again. But today the huge disappointment. My son had the entrecot, good and tasty, with the same side dishes as with my fish - mashed potatoes, which tasted very strange and was cold at the start because the plate was cold, and mixed vegetables, which didn't particularly suit my taste with my fish fit and also how the fish tasted completely boring. I still have a crippled tongue from the wrong fat, I suspect. A pity! Very unfortunate. In addition to the great service staff, I also wish there were good kitchen staff! Hope this works at some point.

Must have had a bad day today. The location is very good. There are parking spaces, but not that many. Easy to reach by bus and bike. Seating inside and outside, also directly on the water (Teltow Canal). The food tasted very good. But apparently the service was overwhelmed today. You could have left unnoticed without paying. Waited more than 10 minutes and then paid at the counter myself.

Am 1.,Mai bei 25°C und Sonne und super Location ist die Bedienung im Biergarten so dermaßen unterbesetzt, dass die 25-30 Minuten anstehen den Spaß rauben. Dann wird auch noch nur Bargeld akzeptiert. Einfach nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die könnten hier viel mehr Umsatz machen und zufriedene Gäste haben, aber so wird das schwer....
