The food tastes fantastic, but the service leaves something to be desired if you don't look typical.

Must try falafel shop in Munich / near to TUM. Sad to see some small price hikes though. Still worth it..

I was also totally disappointed. I got a Falafel Dürüm with vegetables. The shop smells extremely greasy when you walk in, and it doesn't look that clean either. I don't think it matters at all whether they're busy. I know other shops that are just as busy and always look good. The falafel tasted great; the vegetables consisted primarily of lettuce, two or three tomatoes, and fried eggplant. The grease tasted old. I was only in the shop for a short time, and my clothes and everything still smell of grease. I miss the fresh taste and the sauces, like sesame or maybe a different sauce. Then the rolled and already wrapped falafel is placed between the grill with the aluminum foil on it - that's not acceptable. I'll gladly follow the shop's advice and go somewhere else. I don't understand the hype at all.

Easily the best falafel and shawarma place in Munich

We got falafel plate it is very filling and delicious. Very tasty, crunchy, fresh falafel. They don’t have a nice place to sit, I wish they had better tables or outside area to sit.

We used to be huge fans of SimSim, but I've been really disgusted for a while now. But today, I've really had enough. The whole place stinks. The floor is dirty, the tables are dirty. We ordered and were forgotten. We waited over half an hour. A total of almost 40 minutes (!!). Despite repeated requests, other customers were still served faster. There wasn't even a single apology. And the food: Absolutely mediocre. There are much better alternatives these days for the same price on the same street. Never again.

I was a loyal customer of Simsim Falafel for a long time, but in the future I will consciously avoid the restaurant. The reason is unacceptable behavior on the part of the owner: After I had properly parked a Lime bike on the sidewalk, sufficiently far from the entrance and without blocking anyone's way (public space), a man who identified himself as the owner stormed out of the shop and addressed me in a tone that lacked any form of politeness. I was reprimanded with an aggressive "Come here!" – as if he were talking to a dog. This was not only inappropriate, but downright disrespectful. As for the food: The falafel tastes okay, but the value for money doesn't justify the asking price. There are several comparable shops within a 300-meter radius that offer better service, more appropriate manners, and often even better food. Anyone who values ​​customer respect, good value for money, and professional interaction should look elsewhere. Munich offers plenty of alternatives. — Addendum to the owner's response: The owner's reaction unfortunately speaks for itself: unreasonable, aggressive, and personally insulting. I experienced exactly this kind of behavior there, and it was the reason for my review. To clarify: – I didn't park my bike in front of the entrance, but rather at the edge of the sidewalk – no one was blocked. – I've been a customer at Simsim several times, picked up falafel there, and ordered at least 80 times over several years. – I didn't "run away," I simply didn't want to be told how to behave in a shouting tone on the street. For a restaurant owner to respond to criticism with insults ("you have no balls," "I should report you") is absolutely unacceptable. That's not how you treat people, neither customers nor passersby. I deliberately formulated my comments objectively and fairly. The response here confirms that the ability to accept criticism and professional handling of customer feedback are unfortunately lacking here.

Ich war über längere Zeit ein treuer Kunde von Simsim Falafel, künftig werde ich das Lokal jedoch bewusst meiden. Der Grund ist ein inakzeptables Verhalten seitens des Inhabers: Nachdem ich ein Lime-Fahrrad ordnungsgemäß auf dem Gehsteig, mit ausreichend Abstand zum Eingang und ohne jemanden zu blockieren, abgestellt hatte (öffentlicher Raum), stürmte ein Mann aus dem Laden, der sich als Inhaber zu erkennen gab, und sprach mich in einem Tonfall an, der jeder Form von Höflichkeit entbehrte. Mit einem aggressiven „Komm her!“ – als ob er mit einem Hund sprechen würde, wurde ich zurechtgewiesen. Das war nicht nur unangemessen, sondern schlicht respektlos.

I had a falafel and vegetable plate for €11.50. It was beautifully presented, but lacked flavor. The dürüm came from a bag. Overall, it was okay, but I won't be coming back because it's simply too tasteless and expensive for the price.

The seitan wrap was completely dry, without any sauce, and they didn't even ask if you wanted it spicy. The wrap was store-bought, not homemade, and I was really very disappointed. The employees would rather talk than work. I would never order a wrap from them again; it was the worst one I've ever bought.

I am baffled. I don’t understand how this get a 4.8, the service was mediocre, the food was worse- we had two falafel sandwiches, it was dry and bland, there wasn’t really any taste that we were so confused as we tried to finish the food.

Simsim Falafel, small eatery in Munich serving the famous street food. The “small” sandwich is huge compared to what we know. The falafel sandwich had pomegranate which was interesting. The chicken shawarma was also good. There are two shops opposite each other with the same name. Both are branches of the same.

Very disappointing – never again! The quality of the food was very poor. The whole place smelled strongly of burnt oil – you wonder how long the oil in the fryer had been in use. I ordered two large portions of falafel to go and politely asked for a small bag. Instead of a regular bag, I was rudely handed an old, crumpled paper bag. The staff was extremely rude and unfriendly. We also had stomach aches after eating there. Definitely the last time for us!

It's a small shop with just two tables, but the food is all the better. I had very good falafel with delicious hummus and authentic Lebanese bread. The plate was ready quickly, and for €7, it's absolutely worth it. I would definitely go back.

Falafel is as good as the original in Dubai. It needs more tahini, though; hummus just doesn't work as a substitute.

I eat here regularly with colleagues, and I have to say, even though I'm not a big fan of falafel, the food is always delicious. The place is a bit small, so you almost have to take the food with you, but otherwise everything is great.

One of the most generous portions you can get in all of Munich! The falafel halloumi sandwich in particular is simply great – absolutely recommended. I've always been here at lunchtime, and although it's often full then, you can get your food quickly, pay by card and, if it's free, sit comfortably in the two seats. A clear recommendation if you are in the area and looking for good, filling food!

I visited this Outlet both in-person and through online ordering, and unfortunately, I was left a bit disappointed each time. The food is average, it doesn’t really stand out in terms of flavor. The portion sizes, especially for the price, were quite small, leaving me still hungry after my meal. Additionally, I was surprised that they don’t offer some typical Mediterranean staples like tzatziki or baba ganoush, which are usually included at most places. Whether dining in or ordering online, it felt like the experience was just average, and I expected a bit more in terms of both taste and value.

You're no longer allowed to eat in the store at 9:13 p.m., even though it's supposedly open until 9:30 p.m

Best Falafel in Munich! Great prices as well

We used to pre-order to the office here a lot, but for the last 6 to 9 months it's been a bit of a gamble as to whether the order won't be rejected (because the order wasn't accepted within 15 minutes) or simply canceled shortly before the actual delivery time. Unfortunately, this happens in 90-95% of orders. Every time we called, the response was unfriendly. Unfortunately, things aren't any better on site. It seems as if the employees don't really enjoy what they're doing. It's no longer possible to eat something that's actually good if it's so awkward and unfriendly every time.

Way below average, even when considering the prices

We went to the restaurant last summer because it was/is rated well overall. Unfortunately, we were treated incredibly disrespectfully, which meant that the overall impression was negative. The food was ok. We won't go there anymore.

Unfortunately I can't share the positive reviews. We arrived about half an hour before closing time and the falafel wrap was soooo dry and not edible, so unfortunately we couldn't finish it. The staff also seemed like they didn't feel like going that evening. Too bad!

Ich kann den Falafel leider nicht empfehlen. Er war zwar riesig, aber schmeckte überhaupt nicht. Es fehlten Gewürze, frischer Salat und das Wrap war hart und trocken. Eine Sauce fehlte auch. Habe noch nie so einen schlechten Falafel gegessen. Schade!

Picked up 50 fantastic falafels for a birthday. Our guests enthusiastically asked where they could get such delicious falafel in Munich. Yes, in the SimSim hoid, what else? At a very fair price. Prepared in no time in 10 minutes by friendly people. This is how falafel works!

A small vegetarian deli near the University makes it a popular spot for students. Not a lot of seating available inside the restaurant but the food is definitely worth the takeaway. The price of the dishes compared to the portion and the quality is so great especially in Munich. Ordered the Falafel box with Halloumi and had to get some of it packed cause I couldn’t finish it.

Simply a great shop! I was here several times years ago for lunch to go and again today. The falafel sandwich with halloumi and vegetables is highly recommended. Ingredients are fresh and tasty - service is also great, my order was even brought out to me with a friendly smile as I listened to the shout outside. The only point of criticism: I remember that there used to be zucchini in the vegetable mix and I think I can also remember a few pomegranate seeds - that made the whole thing a whole lot more interesting in terms of taste. :)

We ordered falafel sandwich with grilled vegetables and falafel sandwich halloumi (both large) via Wolt. The food is completely tasteless and unseasoned. I didn't taste any of the grilled vegetables for 3/4 of the sandwich. I was also pretty dry. Absolutely no recommendation.

When I took napkins I was bluffed that there were too many. If you pay €8 for a falafel togo, I just thought that three super thin cloths would be included in the price. How else am I supposed to get my hands clean again afterwards... Conclusion: Service is bad, unfriendly and in my opinion incompetent. My order was also wrong. No recommendation!

Unfortunately the food was very bland and tasteless. Vegetable side dish consists of potatoes and 2 slices of eggplant, nothing else. Hummus even without taste...

I had a large falafel sandwich with grilled vegetables. It's more of a wrap than a sandwich, but still very tasty. The grilled vegetables are nice and soft, the fresh vegetables are crunchy. The falafel are also super tasty and not too dry. Price unbeatable. Gladly again.

So it has little to do with Arabic because it's not really spiced, so it's better to go for Schwantha

Tried falafel sandwich with vegetables. The sandwich is not a pita but like a dürüm. Falafel are good, but the combination with fried vegetables is dry and bland. If you read the other reviews you will find the same experiences. Can't understand the other numerous good reviews. Maybe go to a real Israeli!

I don't understand how they get 4.8 stars. Maybe it's because food in Germany generally has low standards and people just accept whatever they get served. Anyway, food at simsim is quite bland overall. While their falafel was decent, their hummus and baba ganoush had no taste.

Not a recommendation in my experience. The portion of the falafel plate wasn't right, the taste was bland and the flatbread was simply taken out of the bag without toasting - a dilemma. That was our first and last visit.

I ordered a large falafel and a Spezi 0.5l. The operator only sells 0.33l bottles in the store. I asked the employee about it and he just said “you have to tell boss” and then he was unfriendly and didn’t put my falafel on the toaster machine but handed it to me “raw”.

The falafel themselves were decent – had a nice texture and flavor. However, I found the platter overall to be lacking in value. Additionally, as someone accustomed to the Lebanese version, the “tarator” sauce served here didn't quite hit the mark for me. It leaned heavily on tahini, making it too dense and overpowering compared to the lighter, more flavorful tarator I'm used to in Lebanon.

These gentlemen are disgraceful!!! You buy food for €24, drive home and notice that the most important falafel and hallumi are missing!!! Zack drove back into the car and complained. No sorry, no sorry - just stupid looks. You come home and notice that the salad looks inedible and is swimming in sauce. You used to be good, today you're a disaster. The main thing is to go up with the prices and go down with the portions. Congratulations, two fewer customers!!!

The food is really tasty and rich, but unfortunately there was no free seat, next time will definitely be in summer.

SimSim is a small shop, so there are only a few seats in the shop window for a maximum of 6-8 people. You order your food at the counter. The falafels are great and taste really good. The pomegranate seeds are a matter of taste, i.e. you don't need them. Prices are totally ok for Schwabing and the owners are really nice.

I am always amazed by the freshness of the falafel sandwiches, no matter the version. Given the quality on offer, the prices must also be described as very fair, because as a man I can eat twice of the large version unless I'm extremely hungry. In addition, the boys are all very friendly and helpful, and that's not a given when you see how crowded it is here sometimes! Thank you!

We tried Falafel with Halloumi, the large one which is really large and If you don’t each much you should definitely share it. There is also Jambo size which literally for more than 2 people. The staff are so nice, the only downside is the small place, you can barely find a place to sit in rush hours. The prices for this quality are so reasonable.
