Disappointing visit Since we had an event at the Savoy, we chose this restaurant because of its proximity and the good reviews. Unfortunately it was a disappointing stay. Despite having reserved a table, we were completely ignored at the entrance, and after that it took quite a long time until a card arrived (it was 5 p.m. on a Sunday and the restaurant wasn't completely full). Afterwards we were completely ignored again and we had to ask at the counter if there was a chance we could order something. Then someone came. We ordered and it took forever for the drinks and the appetizers to arrive. We had now been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours and the performance started in 30 minutes. We then asked for the main course and then came 3x Pad Thai, which really disappointed us. Mini portion, barely seasoned, almost cold. That shocked me a bit, as Düsseldorf is known for good Asian food. I can only hope they had a bad day, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Nice restaurant. Attentive and friendly service. The taste of the food is okay. A plate of Tom Kha Gai as a starter. At €13 it's already very expensive. The main course (#62) was extremely disappointing. A handful of glass noodles with sauce, a few snippets of vegetables and five crispy fried (totally dry!!!) strips of chicken breast. And that for 22 euros. Price-performance ratio: a disgrace.

A top location with very tasty dishes! Lots of choice with duck meat, other dishes are unfortunately less represented. There is one big minus point: €8 was charged for a Thai iced tea with milk - absolutely outrageous!!!

The service was very chaotic, I (and one other person from our table) was served the wrong dish (even though the dish number was written down correctly!). The staff couldn't communicate in German and didn't know exactly what they were serving. I don't know what kind of dish I ended up eating, but it wasn't to my liking. Never had such a horrible mango sticky rice in my life! Only mango is good.. Pad thai noodles are below average. You are giving such a good ambience in a good location then please do serve some authentic thai dishes at least the famous mango sticky rice as people know about this.

Sila Thai is a real experience. The service is totally courteous and you immediately feel at home. Everything tasted really delicious and the price-performance ratio is also very positive for what you get. All in all, a 10/10!

Unfortunately a disappointing experience... The restaurant was once one of the most recommended restaurants in the city, especially for a culinary experience. What's left of it is the furnishings. The portions are reduced by almost half while the price increases. Instead of beef, we were brought chicken. The cocktails we ordered were forgotten - only arrived when asked for the main course. Ordered 1 dessert, 2 were brought… So I don't know what else to say about that Just very disappointing after the takeover

The atmosphere was incredibly warm and calming, the entire space was Thai themed and it felt like a portal into a different world. A bit of Thailand in the middle of Düsseldorf. The staff were very friendly and kind, struggling with German at times so make it easy for everyone and converse in English if possible. Also try to present them with the numbers instead of meal names. They seemed very busy but nonetheless: helpful, kind and friendly at all times. You might have to wait a bit for your food to arrive, but when it does~ you will be overwhelmed with the delicious warm goodness on your plate. The food is very well seasoned, delicious and fresh. I enjoyed every bite of my fried rice and dessert. Pictures 1 & 2 are coded 64 and 158. Bring a lot of openness and curiosity with you when dining here. You will be brought into a world of delicious flavours and warmth. 10/10 would recommend! ✨

The food was excellent. Authentic Thai cuisine with really good taste! But: You had to look for the duck and there was far too little sauce. There was only a mini bowl. This does not correspond to what is charged for the meal and unfortunately detracts from the overall impression!

Two days ago we had reserved a table for two for today at 5pm, but we were told that the reservation was not valid. Instead we were offered to either leave by 6:30pm or accept an alternative. We had dinner with a group of 20 people. The staff was very friendly and competent. The selection of dishes is very good. Not too much, not too little. Something for everyone. The cocktails are very good. The food tastes fantastic, authentically Thai. Unfortunately, the food at our second table took a long time. Very unpleasant for someone without a starter. Had Thai food for the first time this evening on July 17th, 2021. The restaurant is awesome, first-class and extremely friendly service, the ambience is a dream and the food is damn good. If there were 10 stars, the restaurant would get a full 10 stars.

We are at a loss for words! Disorganized upon entry. Although reserved, nothing was prepared. None of the staff speaks or understands German. Waiters had bad mouth and body odor. The waitress poured soup into a water glass when serving it. No dish is recommended. Another restaurant is highly recommended. Noticeably inferior quality. Wine purchase price approx. 4 euros is sold for 35 euros. Nobody who values ​​good food will ever come to this restaurant again.

I've known this restaurant for years and was mostly enthusiastic, but I was totally disappointed with the main course. Prices for a curry €25,- for what… And about the inventory... Chairs have cracks and the Christmas decorations are still hanging carelessly in the rooms. You can clearly tell that the old boss no longer runs this shop.

The food was amazing! So good that I forgot to take photos. To be honest, no photo would have done the food justice. I thought it was fantastic. From start to finish! There were only two points that bothered me, and that's why I got a "point deduction". 1. The service staff speak almost exclusively English. For German-speaking guests it becomes almost difficult to order. 2. To reserve you have to book a slot. So each table has 2 hours to eat and then has to leave. There's no real comfort like that. I thought everything else was great!

Experience war ruined after waiter who delayed our order due to his mistake putting the right order in and then as we asked for the dessert menu on time and then purposefully stayed away from our table until 23:01 ,just then he came to our table to deny taking our order . We asked for a manager who came with hironic smile to tell us that the kitchen closes at 23:00 That was a bill of 200€ for 3 people Thats the first time that I come around such a thing after that many years travelling all over the word and have eaten in so many places .

Beautiful restaurant. Food is great and atmosphere is second to none. But that also has its price. Except for the high price, everything was great. If you go at lunchtime, you can get a wonderful business lunch.

The starter platter was very good. Unfortunately, the main courses couldn't quite keep up. My meal, marked with three out of three chilies, was only mildly hot and otherwise very average. My wife's duck was also good but not great. The ambience was nice and certainly expensive. But we found it too oppressive and overloaded.

We started by communicating with a waitress, but her behavior repeatedly showed that she was unfair to the human race. And when we asked if we could change to a seat with a better view, a disgusted back asked us "why?" We wanted to share the tasting by ordering a few more dishes, and when we suggested that the mango rice should be served at the same time as the main dish and that only one was ordered, her expression was disgusted, skeptical, and contemptuous, which annoyed us and asked for a change of waiter. This made us very uncomfortable, and if we could see this waitress in the future, we wouldn't have stepped in again. And I will use political methods to collect evidence and report the waiter's discriminatory behavior. Please check the feedback from this owner, I don't know if they already understand my request. Yes, I won't come anymore. 😀

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and you almost feel like you are in Thailand. The food is good and I recommend taking several bites and sharing with friends and family. The Mango Sticky Rice is particularly recommended at this point.

We were there on New Year's Eve with 10 people. Absolutely recommended food. The location is very beautiful and was beautifully decorated.

Difficult! If I had been led into this restaurant blindfolded, after all the food I would have said that I had eaten in a Chinese restaurant. These dishes have nothing, absolutely nothing, in common with Thai food. I spend a lot of time in Thailand and am married to a Thai woman. She was also absolutely disappointed. When I asked why you could get Chinese food here, the answer was that it was European style. Why do the Thai staff speak to their colleagues in English? Why couldn't the lady on the phone understand my wife? Most of the staff there are Chinese. Even if when asked they answered that they were Vietnamese. Anyone who hears that Thai food is the best food should not use this restaurant as a benchmark. Anyone who rates the food here as good has never been to Thailand. We go out to eat in Thai restaurants all over Germany every week. But we have never been served anything like this restaurant. We had the menu for 2 people for €119 plus drinks. I still tipped 10% at the end because the real Thais really made an effort. It was also completely disappointing that a lot of it was prepared with rancid fat. Even something as simple as baked bananas was inedible.

The first time me and my family went to a Thai restaurant on Christmas Eve. Wow we have been met with the greatest server! Kind, polite and excited to teach us about the Thai food culture! For starters we had the leaves with fillings we could put on ourself and some spring rolls. For main course we had Duck Pad Thai. Ohhh Myyyy the best food I ever ate for real. For only 22 euros i couldnt finish the dish because it was so filling, I had to ask to take the rest home. The athmosphere was really comfortable and beautifuly decorated. (A+ for having proper hand towels in the restroom as well :)) Would definitely come back here whenever we are in Dusseldorf!

The food was ok but nothing special. The restaurant boast with fine furniture and big pricelabels, but the service is subpar: We asked for small modifications of the menu(less spicy, sauce on separate cup, vegetarian options are with oyster sauce on menu, etc) but the waiter either said no(yes, without any reason, just "no!") or disregarded or forgot our wishes. Even basic questions could not be answered. The food was ok, but not for this pricetag. The restaurant was tightly packed and it seems the kitchen and the service can not expand to these numbers of guests.

Sila Thai has been our absolute favorite restaurant for the last few years - authentic, delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere and service that has always impressed us. We visited the restaurant regularly and highly recommended it to friends. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly recently. It started with small but noticeable changes: a layer of paper was placed over the fabric tablecloths and the fabric napkins were replaced with simple paper napkins. Not only have the cocktails become smaller, the portions of the dishes also appear to have been slightly reduced. Even the atmospheric atmosphere suffers - candles are only lit sporadically and the toilets leave an unkempt impression. We were particularly disappointed with the curries, which used to be one of the highlights. On our last visit, the beans in one dish were almost raw and the curry sauce was very weak, although we had been warned that the dish was very spicy. Our suggestion: It's better to add a few euros to the prices and bring back the quality and the special charm that defined Sila Thai 1-2 years ago.

The food has worn off. The chicken was bland and chewy and tasted stale, probably pre-cooked, which was really unpleasant as there was a hair in my rice and then in my mouth. I pointed it out to the waiter and paid and got out. I have known Sila for over 10 years and I am allowed to criticize

Absolutely beautiful food and atmosphere 😍 but service didn't match. We were nearly forgotten about but it was a busy Saturday night. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the value for money was good.

We were there with 7 people and were warmly welcomed. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is simply great, value for money is right here. We were all completely satisfied and had a wonderful evening.

Top Thai in Düsseldorf! Very authentic, very tasty. You can tell that the curries are prepared in-house. Very friendly boss. He gave us a table even though the restaurant was more than full. The Tom Kha Gai was one of the best I've eaten in Germany so far! We'll definitely be back. Absolute recommendation!

Something has happened! There are cloth napkins again, plates without asking, friendly service. The food was excellent and there is a good price-performance ratio. We would particularly like to praise the head waiter, who has been happy to serve us for many years, and the boss is there again and has everything under control. We are happy that Sila Thai is back to its former strength. Congratulations! Maybe now serve the cocktails in real glasses, put on fabric tablecloths and warm towels in advance. Then Sila Thai will once again be at the forefront of Düsseldorf's restaurants.

When you walked in, you were immediately struck by the ambience. It was very nice and traditionally Thai furnished, the staff was also very accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately, Pad Thai with shrimp was not recommended, the shrimp were very hard and over-grilled and the Pad Thai tasted dry overall. Unfortunately, selling the very watery Thai iced tea as a cocktail with 3 pieces of fruit for €8 was also not justified. The prices are very high here, so value for money wasn't right for us.

Service has no knowledge of the names or contents of the dishes, only the numbers are known and relevant. No appreciative approach to one's own food, if not even dispassionate. Eat We missed the aromatic freshness of Thai cuisine in every dish. More effort and expense goes into carved tomatoes, floral decorations on every plate and fire bowl than into the food itself. Ambiance It's a matter of taste and is therefore rated neutrally. All in all: there is no relationship between price and performance. No second visit.

When you are at Sila Thai, you feel like you are in Thailand 🇹🇭. It is highly decorated with a traditional fit out. The food you could not fault. It was all up great. I would definitely go back.

The interior is very traditional as is the service sadly! All personal is friendly but just understand you sometimes, so better ask twice if you are waiting to long. We were looking forward to a special evening and wanted to celebrate my birthday at an authentic Thai restaurant. The first impression was really promising: a beautiful room with high ceilings, stylish paneling and an atmosphere that invites you to linger: the perfect place for a special experience! But shortly after our arrival, the first disappointment: Instead of sitting in the main room, we were led into a side room that was more like a passageway to the kitchen. There's no comparison to the charming main area - the music is too loud and monotonous, the noises from the kitchen are disturbingly close. To make the most of it, we decided to go outside and eat there. Unfortunately, this initial disillusionment did not last. The drinks were initially forgotten, but when they finally arrived, they were really excellent, as were the starters, which were impressive with fresh ingredients and delicate flavors. That's why there is the second star. But then the next mistake followed: The soup was first forgotten, then brought to another table and finally brought to us by another waiter - the same soup that had already been served to someone else unattended. The main course topped off this chaotic evening: the duck was completely dry, the prawns were tough and tasteless – a real disaster! When the second round of drinks didn't come after a long time, we gave up disappointed, paid and left the restaurant. We were really looking forward to this evening and were hoping for an unforgettable experience. Basically we got it.

I sat outside on the beautiful terrace. The restaurant inside is very nice. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was varied, tasty and sometimes quite spicy (but not like in Thailand) I missed many of the flavors that I learned to appreciate in Thailand. It's a shame that the dessert, banana and ice cream, was a bit unimaginative. Still a successful evening, thank you very much.
