We've been there many times, especially during the week for lunch, because the price-performance ratio is really very good. That's why we always put up with the grumpy service. The food has always been excellent, except for today. The meat in the chicken curry was no longer good. When I complained, however, I was only looked at askance and told that I must be wrong in my assessment. I'm basically very tolerant and actually just wanted to give my feedback so that the quality could be checked again when another meal was served, but being treated like that makes me no longer want to visit this restaurant. It's a shame ☹️

The best Indian restaurant I have ever visited, and the always full restaurant confirms this. Super friendly staff and the food is simply top - whether with or without meat. At lunchtime there is a free starter (salad or soup), and in the evening there is a free dessert (mango cream/schnapps).

Very nice/friendly Indians. The food tastes excellent and the price/performance is great. There is also a lunch menu, where some dishes are a little cheaper than in the evening. You also get a small salad plate or soup.

We had a lovely dinner with amazing sharing dishes. The atmosphere and staff was very welcoming and friendly. The outside garden was nice and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit!

We discovered the restaurant by chance and were not disappointed. We had Lamb Biryani and Lamb Kharahi (spelling maybe wrong) Lamb Biryani was a 4 out of 5 and Lamb Kharahi was a 5 out of 5. (+ 1 x naan bread a 5 out of 5) To drink we also had Mango Lassi, a 5 out of 5. The service was very nice and accommodating. Would be 5 stars, but 1 star deducted because of the biryani. We will come again when we drive by again. For the Indian palate a 3.5-4 stars 5 stars for the German palate

The food was really good. I tried the biriyani (mixed and chicken), both were really flavourful. The chilly chicken for starters were also good. The service is amazing. You can sit well here whether inside or outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food tastes great. We had different ideas the first time, but we would be surprised at how much fits in a small bowl. We've been there several times in the meantime. Mainly during the week for lunch, there are a lot of dishes to choose from. Thanks

It was good food and a quiet place, I would recommend trying it out.

The food is freshly prepared, with a large selection to suit every taste. The service when ordering and serving was quick and friendly. Great price-performance ratio. Only after the meal were we not asked whether we would like dessert or something to drink. Big drawback: there is still plenty of room for improvement in the toilets and the room there is obviously a storage room.

Although I live in Germany for many years, its by chance that I visited this restaurant and I have to say the Indian dishes served were very authentic and delicious. I tried Chilly Chicken, it was fried just to the right level with a great gravy. I would recommend all of you to try. The owners always greeted us with a smile and at the end they also offered me a Dessert on the house. A place worth visiting

Waited 45 minutes for service in the meantime the first guests got up impatiently and left. All in all I wouldn't want to go in there again and the food didn't convince me either

Update: We still really enjoy going there, consistently good quality food and still good value for money... Unfortunately we haven't managed to take a photo of our favorite dish yet as we always don't expect it can start eating. There is only one photo with empty bowls - the best proof that it tasted good!! Our favorite dish? Definitely Thali, you have a colorful selection with and without meat, plus raita and naan bread. Very tasty food. Large selection, waiters very friendly. Beforehand we were given papadum with three dips on the house, and my request regarding the type of meat was taken into account for the thali. The portions were generous, with lots of rice. The naan bread was served hot. With the bill we were offered schnapps or optionally a small mango dessert. We'd love to come back.

Had another great evening at Shiva. Food is good, plentiful and relatively cheap. Despite the full house, the service staff was very enthusiastic and often asked us questions. It's best to order different things and then try your hand at Indian cuisine!

Great food, very friendly and cozy

Today we went on a short trip to Deggendorf (my father-in-law's grave is there). Read reviews beforehand and then took my wife there for dinner. It was her first time eating Indian food. Thanks to my many trips to the United Kingdom since I was a teenager, I have fallen in love with Indian food for decades, plus the really good and friendly service, clean, polite and not intrusive. It was a pleasure for us and if we go to the grave again, we'll definitely go there again... it's a total of 800 km there and back, but we're happy to accept that for the visit to the grave and this meal. Thanks...

Toller Inder! War schön öfters da und immer leckeres Essen und vor allem auch nettes Servicepersonal! Was ich auch sehr mag ist das man Reis immer wieder nach bekommt und es eine kleine Vorspeise mit ihrem Brot gibt mit 3 Leckeren Soßen.

Mein absoluter Favorit für indisches Essen in Deggendorf. Ich habe noch kein anderes Restaurant gefunden, dass mich so überzeugt hat. Ich komme inzwischen mindestens einmal alle zwei Monate her weil es einfach gut schmeckt. Sehr große Auswahl an Gerichten, das Mittagsmenü ist reichlich, besonders für den Preis, man geht hier garantiert nicht mehr hungrig raus. Die Suppen sind eine Empfehlung meinerseits! Personal ist immer nett und freundlich und hilft auch gerne bei Extrawünschen. Große Empfehlung!

Wurden sehr nett begrüßt, Service war sehr schnell und freundlich. Aaaaber… das Essen war wirklich sehr enttäuschend. Wir haben 2 vegetarische Gerichte bestellt. Beide haben exakt gleich geschmeckt. Bei mir war nur zusätzlich noch Aubergine dabei. Auf den Bildern soll mal wohl 2 völlig verschiedene Gerichte sehen. Kein Salz. Bei indisch erwarte ich aromatische Küche und intensive Geschmäcker. Beides fehlte hier. Es hat einfach nach nichts geschmeckt… vor allem weil die indische Küche sehr Vegetarier-freundlich ist, waren wir sehr unglücklich. Das naan war gut. Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir sehr enttäuscht.

Ich liebe indisches Essen. Das Shiva ist dabei meine erste Anlaufstelle. Das Essen dort ist reichlich und sehr gut! Allerdings finde ich das Ambiente etwas zu dunkel. Trotzdem ist es alles in allem sehr schön und vor allem gut dort!

Das Personal war unhöflich und überhaupt nicht serviceorientiert. Das Essen war ok, aber nicht das, was ich bei den Bewertungen erwartet habe. Die Möbel sind alt und in die Jahre gekommen. Ich kann das Restaurant nicht empfehlen.

Geschmacklich war das Essen top. Der Service war auch super. Es gab mittags sogar eine kleine Vor- und Nachspeise gratis. Den einzigen Kritikpunkt den ich loswerden will ist das Verhältnis zwischen Hauptgericht und Beilage. Etwas weniger Reis und etwas mehr von dem Curry (oder was auch immer) wäre super. Auch wenn es dann 2-3 Euro mehr kostet, mir wäre es das wert.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Würden sehr nett behandelt und es ging sehr schnell. Mit einem Nachtisch hatten wir nicht gerechnet. Es gab Mango Pudding der sehr lecker war. Reis könnte man noch nach bestellen. Immer wieder gerne.:)

Mit Abstand der beste Inder in der Region, um nicht tu übertreiben, der Beste in ganz Ostbayern. Essen schmeckt immer sehr gut, Kellner sind aufmerksam und freundlich. Jetzt sogar mit veganer Speisekarte. Gehört definitiv zu meinen Lieblingsrestaurants.

Vorab wird Brot mit drei dips gereicht. Bestellt hatten wir gemischte Vorspeisen für zwei ein Gericht mit Ente und eins mit Hähnchen alles sehr lecker. Die Fleisch Gerichte wurden in Kupfer Töpfchen auf einer Warmhalteplatte serviert dazu Reis auf einer Platte der aufgefüllt wurde als er alle war. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Gesamteindruck super, wir werden bei Gelegenheit wieder kommen.

Sehr lecker und große Portionen! Die Mittagsangebote mit Beilagensalat sind top. Große Auswahl, sehr lecker! Preis-Leistung stimmt.

Ich war zum ersten mal in diesem Restaurant und war positiv überrascht! Das Essen war sehr lecker und von den Portionen sind wir alle mehr als satt geworden. Es gibt viel Auswahl für Vegetarier und Veganer. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Käse Naan! Das Personal war sehr freundlich, wir mussten nur etwas warten bis jemand Zeit für uns hatte. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wie immer war es sehr lecker. Wir saßen im Biergarten weshalb wegen typischen Innenhof Ambiente ein Stern Abzug. Ansonsten alles top wie immer 👍
