One of our favorite restaurants! We love Persian cuisine. The exceptional dishes are simply fantastic. The service is also very friendly and attentive. A recommendation for anyone who loves the extraordinary!

Very extensive lunch buffet. All very tasty. Bowls still full even at 2 p.m.

The food tastes really good but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated! The chicken wasn't cooked through and the homemade iced teas were a bit tasteless. The hilight is always the appetizer platter, which is really delicious. A taste experience but too expensive.

Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, unseren Abschluss in diesem wunderbaren Restaurant zu feiern, und es war eine rundum perfekte Erfahrung! Das Essen war nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch mit viel Liebe zum Detail angerichtet. Besonders die Desserts haben uns begeistert, vielen Dank nochmals für diese großzügige Geste! Die stilvolle Einrichtung und die angenehme musikalische Untermalung sorgten für eine einladende und gemütliche Atmosphäre. Man fühlt sich hier sofort wohl. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den ausgezeichneten Service. Das gesamte Team war äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Unser Kellner hat sich besonders viel Mühe gegeben und war stets zur Stelle, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hat nicht gepasst. Für den Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr WoW-Effekt erwartet. Die Intensität war nicht so, wie wir es für die orientalische Küche kennen, es war „zuwenig“

My husband and I ate here and even though, or perhaps because, I am Iranian, I can say that the food is great. We really enjoyed it. Meat super tender, rice perfectly done, Ambiance is very nice, everything looks high quality and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I can only recommend it. So we will go there again

Without Schlemmerblock the price/performance ratio would definitely be too bad. So it was a mediocre meal for a corresponding price. We are happy to have been here, but there definitely won't be a second time (possibly without a gourmet block). Unfortunately, Djadoo is also out, but it has the same owner, the same dishes and the same prices.

We ordered from this place. The lamb was good. The chicken was quite extensively mixed with lemon juice to the point where we could only taste the lemon and nothing else. So not the best. I have to mention that we ordered one of their desert items that was called Shole Zard which was absolutely inedible. It blew my mind how something like this can exist on the menu of such a restaurant..

Unfortunately, my visit to the Shiraz Restaurant was rather disappointing. The price-performance ratio was simply not right. The portions were relatively small and the prices for what was served didn't justify what you got in my opinion. Another point was that the shop is called Shiraz and had Shiraz wine on the menu, but unfortunately they didn't stock Shiraz wine, which I found quite strange. I originally come from Frankfurt, where the prices for good food are already high. But the prices in the Shiraz Restaurant were comparable to those in upscale restaurants in Frankfurt - and there is a world of difference. I just can't understand how such a simple restaurant in Darmstadt can charge such prices. Especially when you consider that the quality and overall experience doesn't come close to the level of top Frankfurt restaurants. The grill plate, which consisted of various meat skewers, didn't really impress me in terms of taste. The rice that was served with it seemed more like a filling to fill the guests up, which didn't really fit with the rest of the dish. But I have to positively mention the friendliness of the waiters. There were a few, but they didn't seem all that competent, which didn't really add any value to the service overall. I suspect that many of the guests simply haven't had the opportunity to experience really good food or they wouldn't eat there. Overall, I will not visit this restaurant again as it was neither convincing in terms of price nor taste. It's a shame, because the atmosphere was actually quite nice.

Beautiful oriental interior design, very friendly service. The food I chose came relatively quickly and more than met my expectations. The lamb was tender and the portion was quite large. A not entirely satisfactory comment from my wife received an unexpectedly positive reaction from the staff and the boss. Cheers! !!! The prices are higher than usual dishes in other restaurants. But you can treat yourself to that and immerse yourself in another culture.

Shiraz in Darmstadt offers an impressive culinary experience with its Persian-Oriental cuisine. The atmosphere is exclusive and the staff is friendly. The dishes are varied and tasty, especially the starters such as falafel are excellent. Although I personally prefer Djadoo a little more, Shiraz is definitely a restaurant to visit to enjoy the variety of oriental cuisine.

I've been here for the second time in a row within a year and I'm simply shocked by the prices and the now poor service, it's all about money. My girlfriend celebrated her birthday here for the first time. There were 15 of us. In the end she paid a bill of €1000. The amazing thing is that with such an amount you are still so cheeky as to ask for a service fee of €0.50 per cake plate because she had her own cake with her...that really blew me away!!! It's just a shameful thing. Where is the service? Last time there were five of us sitting there and we couldn't believe our eyes when the card came. €8.99 for a glass of wine, €9.99 for a bowl of yoghurt with cucumbers, a bowl of ice cream for €12.99, what exorbitant prices are these??? It's also annoying when you're asked three times if you want a bottle of water (costs €7!!). I can order one if I want. What's going on there? YES the store was full, but you should still think about it. You can also think about people with a small budget, even if things are going well. You can't justify everything by saying that prices have risen! You don't have to add 500% everywhere! Not everyone can afford that. I just find it unfair and annoying!!!!

The decor is beautiful and the place is clean. We started with a soup that arrived quickly, but the main course took an hour, which was too long. For my birthday I was treated to an unforgettable evening at Shiraz. The atmosphere in Shiraz is really special. It's cozy yet chic. The winter garden with the radiant heaters also has a very special flair. The food was also fantastic. The starter plate for two people is highly recommended. The main courses were also a sensation in terms of taste. The rice was perfectly prepared, the chicken breast fillet was tender and deliciously seasoned and the sauces of the rice dishes harmonized perfectly with the meat and rice. The service at Shiraz is also particularly noteworthy. The service was courteous and very personable. Especially the lovely Suraya with her friendly manner guided us wonderfully through our culinary journey. Our visit to Shiraz was very special and we will definitely come back.

Unfortunately our visit to Shiraz was disappointing. The food only came after 1 hour and 10 minutes, which is way too long. In addition, the food was cold, which significantly affected the enjoyment and the taste was also not the real thing. The starter was also completely forgotten and somehow didn't come at all. They just apologized for it but didn't offer anything alternative or as a gesture of goodwill, which only reinforced the bad impression. Unfortunately the service wasn't attentive enough, otherwise we would have at least noticed the forgotten starter in time. Overall the experience was disappointing and I cannot recommend the restaurant in this condition. NEVER AGAIN !!

We went to Shiraz for the first time with my parents in January 2025. We were led straight to our table, which is unfortunately in an area of ​​the restaurant that is above a garage, which is therefore not heated. It looks like a winter garden; there were radiant heaters mounted on the ceilings. Unfortunately, it doesn't help at all when your feet get cold from below and your head is made to glow with a heater. We then said straight away that we would like to have another table. The first thing we were told was that there would be no other table. After we said well, we'll go somewhere else to eat, it worked very quickly to give us a table in another area of ​​the restaurant. This winter garden area is definitely nice in spring/summer but in winter it's a disgrace at these prices - that's at least my opinion. Then the owners should really think about having a proper heating system retrofitted. I definitely don't want to sit there in the winter. The food was really tasty and the portions were good. Everyone particularly liked the mixed starter plate. However, the dishes were cold and related to the hot main courses, which in my opinion was because the plates were not preheated. This is a problem that could be avoided. The service was very courteous and nice and explained all the dishes well. I also think it's nice that the cellars and waitresses are neatly dressed. But the prices leave a lot to be desired. €7.99 for a 0.7l bottle of water is quite steep, I wasn't even charged that in Frankfurt. The prices of the food are also really high even if the food was good. Basically, a main course costs at least plus/minus €25. My conclusion is that you can eat there and would go there again, but I would go back to the gourmet block. That evening you could also see at other tables that many people and families were eating with the gourmet block.

All around successful evening. We would love to come back.

I think I don't need photos like my "previous reviewers" because one thing I find terrible is people taking photos of their food. But that's just about me and now about Shiraz. We were always there at lunchtime. The ambience of the Shiraz is great and you feel like you have been transported to Persia. You are accompanied to the table and once you get there you get the menu very quickly. Staff absolutely accommodating and polite. Starter platter is wonderful, my wife could bathe in the walnut pomegranate sauce, 8 starters invite you to feast and there is something for everyone. Main courses absolutely recommended, so I can't understand why someone writes "meat cold" perhaps spent too long bubbling or photographing the dishes. So all in all, an absolute recommendation, every time we are in the corner.

We received a warm and courteous welcome and felt well served from the first minute. The ambience is very stylish and the food selection is diverse. Our dishes were delicious and high quality. The only two points of criticism are: 1. according to our taste, the food could have been more intensely seasoned and 2. the prices for both food and drinks are too high, even taking all the positive aspects into account.

Unfortunately, I was informed by Google that the operator tried to have my review deleted several times due to “defamation”. That doesn't work at all! Therefore only 1 star. In my opinion, the food offered to me was of good quality, but not particularly special and therefore too expensive for me. I found the service to be unfriendly and taciturn throughout, only the supposed owner greeted us nicely and said goodbye. The ambience seemed very nice and authentic to me, but also very narrow and loud and unfortunately the door to the outside area was always left open, so it felt cold in there.

We have been visiting Shiraz again and again for many years, especially when we look at an exhibition at Mathildenhöhe. Shiraz offers a large selection of extremely delicious oriental dishes. Reservations are recommended as it is almost always busy. The service is very friendly.

“Addition to my previous review reported by Shiraz Restaurant:” After I wrote a review after three unsuccessful contact attempts, it was reported by the restaurant for alleged defamation. I would like to emphasize that my criticism is based on a real experience, which I describe here again objectively: I had booked a menu for 15 people, the price was previously set at €600. Unfortunately, the amount of food served corresponded to a maximum of 8 people. The dishes were served in bowls, concealing the actual quantity. In addition, the cheaper meat, which consisted largely of vegetables such as peppers, was served without prior agreement. Double quantities of water bottles were handed in without asking and charged extra. Ultimately the bill came to €800, even though the service didn't come close to the price. A mandatory 10% tip was set in advance, although I believe this should be left to the guests' discretion. Considering the rude service, no tip would have been appropriate. I find it regrettable that instead of responding to the criticism, the restaurant tries to suppress negative experiences through reports. In my opinion, customer satisfaction should come first - unfortunately this was not the case here.

Were there on New Year's Eve. Food was a la carte, which didn't do the restaurant any favors that evening. The waiting time for the main course was around 90 minutes. We were just outside the door when we came back and our table was cleared with half-full drinks even though we had let us know. The drinks were then brought back from the bar instead of getting new ones. A drink order was even completely forgotten. The food that evening was OK but unfortunately not more than that. Unfortunately the meat was cold.

I was so happy to enjoy Persian food again. The first impression in the restaurant was promising, the interior design is elaborately Persian. The staff in the restaurant are super friendly and accommodating. You can tell how popular the restaurant is - the phone is constantly ringing because people are ordering food. And there is also a lot of activity in the evening. The food is very tasty! Compared to other Persian restaurants, I would say that the dishes are somewhat adapted to the German palate. Leider scheint man hier konstruktive Kritik in keiner Weise zu vertragen. Google Rezensionen mit weniger als 4 Sternen werden offenbar löschen gelassen. Wir werden das Shiraz nicht mehr besuchen und können es aufgrund der höchst fragwürdigen Einstellung des Inhabers zu konstruktiver Kritik auch nicht empfehlen. Ursprüngliche Rezension: Das Shiraz in Darmstadt ist sehr schön eingerichtet, das Personal ist freundlich. Von unserer Gruppe waren drei Personen mit dem Essen auch sehr zufrieden, die drei anderen allerdings nicht. Die Grillgerichte ohne Soße sind relativ trocken, das Fleisch ist zum Teil zu wenig, dafür sind die Preise aber trotzdem sehr hoch. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt somit gar nicht, einige Gerichte sind das Geld definitv nicht wert und satt gemacht hat es auch nicht. Auch wenn das Personal freundlich war, so war es allerdings auch sehr schlecht organisiert. Mindestens sieben Kellner waren am Abend da, trotzdem hat die Bedienung nicht gut funktioniert, wie auch schon in anderen Bewertungen angemerkt wurde. Anfangs haben wir zwei Mal darum gebeten, dass uns die Kerze auf dem Tisch angezündet wird (worauf ein Kellner auch mal selber kommen könnte). Nach 20 Minuten haben wir uns dafür selbst Feuer besorgt. Bis nachbestellte Getränke gebracht wurden, hat es zum Teil sehr lange gedauert. Die Rechnung mussten wir am Schluss drei (!) Mal bestellen, anscheinend wurde es immer wieder vergessen oder es hat sich keiner dafür zuständig gefühlt. Insgesamt haben wir eine halbe Stunde warten müssen, bis wir dann schließlich die Rechnung bekommen haben und zahlen konnten. Vom Platz her war es an den Tischen sehr eng, die Parkplatzsituation ist auch nicht die beste. Vom Ambiente und auch von den Preisen her ist das Shiraz ein eher gehobenes Restaurant. Der sehr unorganisierte Service und die Menge und Qualität einiger Gerichte rechtfertigen die hohen Preise allerdings nicht.

My previous 2-star review, in which I wrote that it was “extremely mediocre food at significantly inflated prices,” was deleted by the restaurant owner on the questionable grounds that it was slander (see screenshot). It is obvious that my review does not constitute slander, but a subjective opinion protected by freedom of expression. The fact that the restaurant owner nevertheless chose the route of a complaint shows a shockingly manipulative tactic: Critical opinions are apparently deliberately removed in order to create the impression of a better reputation and to continue to lure unsuspecting guests to this overpriced restaurant. Potential customers should be aware of how criticism is handled here - instead of focusing on quality, they apparently focus on removing negative feedback. That speaks volumes about this restaurant's priorities.

This makes going to a restaurant fun! Simply delicious!

We had called beforehand to say we were going to be late, which obviously wasn't passed on as when we arrived we were rudely told to call next time otherwise we couldn't be guaranteed a table (which is par for the course when you don't call). We had to wait a long time for the service (not for the food itself). The waiter also seemed annoyed when paying. If you have a gourmet block, it's worth a visit as an experience, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. Especially the desserts and starters are comparative. extremely overpriced. I have never seen a Persian restaurant charge €10 for a little yoghurt (with small flavor variations) with a little bread. Maybe because I've eaten in the right restaurants so far. Very nice and authentic decor that is good for distracting from everything else. I think people who have never eaten Persian before will be excited to try something different :)
