The food was really good and the service very friendly. The ambiance is nice, however, there are a lot of tables in a very small space.

Went out for dinner with the family today. Everything tasted fantastic, and the service was very friendly and attentive. As a lover and somewhat experienced Persian chef, I can highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was very clean and top-notch. 😊

So delicious. We love coming back and will be back again and again. It's great that they're also in the Schlemmerblock (gourmet block). Yes, the €35 starter platter for two people is a bit steep, but everything is delicious, beautifully presented, and varied. For two people, a starter platter, one main course each, and two drinks each, minus the Schlemmerblock (gourmet block), it comes to about €80.

I've been there several times now: Lunch buffet - very good value for money in my opinion. Wonderful selection and always delicious. Reservations are recommended occasionally. I've never experienced the comments about poor service at a popular restaurant, either. Dinner menu: Delicious selection, almost too large. But there's something for everyone. Thank you and please keep it up. It's not so popular for nothing, I'd say. Update: Went there today (08/20/25) with an old college friend. Saved outside in perfect weather. Super-friendly and attentive service (unfortunately, I forgot his name, he's from Russia), not pushy but always there. The food, as always, was absolutely excellent. Although this is a Persian restaurant, and as an Iranian guest, you would expect respectful and friendly treatment in your native language, my experience was unfortunately disappointing. Despite repeated attempts to speak politely to the waiter in Persian, he insisted he didn't understand the language—even though he subsequently conversed clearly and fluently in Persian with a colleague. I found this behavior disrespectful and unfriendly. As for the food, it tasted rather average. After this unpleasant experience, I honestly could barely concentrate on the taste.

Incredibly boring food. Two skewers of meat with a pile of rice on top are definitely not worth €30. The service was friendly and bored, and unfortunately, they were so drenched in perfume that you could barely taste the food.

Like our friends, there's always a large amount of delicious rice. Generally, the portions are generous, so you should really consider whether you want to order such a delicious appetizer. It's best to go with a group of people and share the appetizer. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the waitress. Of the three dishes we ordered, she mixed up the number for two of them, and a different dish was delivered each time. Then the waitress sat in the corner and texted on her phone. When she finally came back to us and we wanted to order dessert, she said the kitchen had been closed for a few minutes and we couldn't even get ice cream. Well, he apologized and gave us a voucher. So, I expect the service will be better next time, and I can adjust the rating.

We visited this restaurant on a weekday and opted for the buffet. We found it pretty average. The spread was limited and the food was quite greasy. However, the ambience was nice and the staff was nice and friendly. We found parking right outside the restaurant, which was a plus.

Never again There were three of us and we had made a reservation. First of all, the restaurant was empty; reservations aren't necessary. The quality of the food was very poor. They had made kebabs from leftover meat. The bland food wasn't worth the money they charged. We returned half the food and even protested, but they brought us a bill for €85 with haughty faces. All three of us had stomachaches and never again.

Always friendly. Always extremely good food. If you like oriental food, you have to come here, but reservations are essential!

Recently (2024) we tried the lunch buffet and were unfortunately disappointed with the quality. The ghormeh sabzi tasted like an unknown dish, and sabzipolo with cumin is not part of Persian cuisine. Ratatouille also has no place in a Persian kitchen. Overall the quality was very disappointing, although we previously (2021) really enjoyed dinner here. Update 2025: Tried the regular menu - the food is pretty tasty and the quality is definitely better than buffet level. Unfortunately, the prices are now way overpriced and the price-performance ratio is simply no longer right. Unfortunately, like other competitors, the rice served wasn't real Persian rice, so it wasn't a highlight for me.

Highly recommend this restaurant, upscale and friendly service and very good food. The staff speaks English as well as German, so you can feel confident when ordering if you are a tourist. Great food presentation as well

We were here for the first time and the food tasted really good, the portions were generous and the waiters were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we thought the prices for the food were too high, especially the vegetarian food which was relatively expensive as there was no meat and there was basically no substitute for protein or consistency. But it was 1 euro or so cheaper. Also the service wasn't that great towards the end. We ordered hot drinks which took a long time to arrive and then we were told that the table had to be vacated immediately. But then nothing happened for a long time. That wasn't so nice unfortunately.

The entire team was incredibly friendly and fulfilled our every wish. The service was just perfect! And the food? A smooth 1000 out of 10! Truly incredibly delicious – every bite is a pleasure! Finally, my husband received a beautifully presented platter of chocolate cake and fresh fruit, served with mocha and cream. I tried it for the first time and loved it! Overall it was a perfect evening. My husband and I were more than satisfied and will definitely come back! Many thanks to the entire team for this special experience!

Djadoo Restaurant in Darmstadt offers excellent food with generous portion sizes. We started with a completely vegeterian appetizer, followed by our main courses, and quickly realized it was far more than we could finish. One main dish easily felt like two servings! The menu has a wide variety of options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The quality of the food was outstanding, making it a place I’d happily return to.

Food tastes ok. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit here at all. 17€ for the amount of Kashkeh Bademjun you get there is outrageous. Unfortunately the Djudje Kabab was a bit too sour. The traditional side dish Sabzi was completely omitted. Service is ok. Unfortunately not a cafe.

Unfortunately I can't understand the very positive reviews. Food wasn't bad at all. Neither is the service or the ambience. But the price-performance ratio is not right at all. Maybe I'm spoiled by the standard of Persian restaurants in Frankfurt, but Djadoo isn't worth a visit for me. Kashk-e Bademjan was 80% leaf salad and 20% the actual starter you order. Vegetarian main course also very bland. And finally an espresso without crema. For the price, you can eat much better.

We were there for the Christmas party and had already reserved for more than a month. When we were there, we were told that the table we wanted had not been reserved 🙂🙂🙂. You reserved the table for someone else without telling us in advance. Immediately after eating, the staff said that our time (max. 2 hours) had already expired and we had to leave now 🙂🙂🙂🙂. I have never experienced such a disrespectful restaurant for Christmas celebrations. I definitely don't recommend it. 😡😡

We immediately noticed the very attentive and friendly service employee "Makke" Markus Urbansky :) The drinks came straight away and we didn't have to wait long for our main courses. The savory pickled lamb and beef with flaky saffron rice was delicious! Relaxed oriental acoustic music played in the background. The dessert went down like oil. Our anniversary was a romantic success <3

Sicherlich haben einige Vorbehalte gegen Speisen und Getränke aus anderen Regionen, aber wer Lust auf "Urlaubserlebnisse" im Alltag hat, ist im Djadoo goldrichtig. Die Atmosphäre ist nett, der Service freundlich und schnell, die Speisen und Getränke versetzen jeden in den Urlaub. ... die Größe der Gerichte sind echt "deutsch", man schafft es kaum!

First of all: we have been to Djadoo many times over the years because the food is really tasty and the restaurant is cozy. In the summer you can also sit outside. But this evening the experience was unfortunately more than unpleasant. Reservation online for 5 people, 6:30 p.m. Confirmed until 10:00 p.m. Right from the start it was noticeable that we were almost pressured to order. The starters were tasty and quick. But we weren't even halfway through when we were informed that the main courses were already ready and that they would be brought now. We haven't experienced such a hectic pace from our previous visits. The explanation for the jostling came when, shortly before 8:00 p.m., we were pointed out rather brusquely that the table would be needed at 8:00 p.m. for the next guests. Only certain time slots would be reserved, this would be visible when making the online reservation. The fact that this is not the case was proven by the reservation confirmation and was also not clear on the website. Conversations at the next table revealed the same problem there, only with an even shorter period of time. This is how you quickly ruin your reputation as a restaurant. Advice to management: either plan differently or quickly change the website so that this is visible.

Unfortunately that was nothing.. No recommendation at this point..

I can only recommend the visit. This was our second time at Djadoo. The quality is great, whether it's a starter, meat dishes, vegan dishes or dessert (mocha). The service was very courteous and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Ich war früher sehr gerne in diesem Restaurant. Aber die Preisanpassung ist einfach maßlos. Klar ist vieles Teurer geworden aber ein Hauptgericht was früher so ab 15 Euro zu haben war nun bis zu 31 Euro zu verkaufen ist unverschämt. Vielleicht setzt man auch darauf dass die meisten Leute mit dem Schlemmerblock kommen und so ein Gericht sparen. Aber für ein Gericht was hauptsächlich aus Reis besteht solche Preise zu verlangen ist dreist. Ich werde nicht mehr kommen auch nicht mit Schlemmerblock.

Still, all in all, definitely worth a visit!

I was really excited, I've never had such good Arabic food before. The portion was really big, the meat was very tender, good quality and the sauce was to die for. Also very nice, attentive staff and everything went really quickly. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but the portions are large and the quality and taste are worth it. You sit comfortably and it's cozy. I would love to come back and definitely recommend it.

The starter plate was interesting. I tried a bit of everything, I recommend the falafels, that was the best thing about the restaurant. The rest was just okay. The main course, chicken with walnut sauce and pomegranates with basmati rice, was tasty. The walnut kernel sauce feels very heavy but the pomegranates give it a sweet twist. The dessert was very interesting, unusual but I really liked it. That was the thing with the glass noodle ice cream.

We still treated ourselves to dessert, and I have to say it was excellent. 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, dates with coconut, chocolate soufflé, apple slices, strawberries etc. on a plate. An excellent combination and it was just great. A very clear recommendation from us, you have to eat here at least once.
