Live football and good beer and all in a good old English atmosphere

Went there spontaneously on Sunday, but half an hour before opening. We were able to wait outside and they opened 15 minutes early. The host/waiter was very nice and accommodating. The beer was very good

It was our first time here and we had a really nice evening. The whiskey menu is phenomenal and the beer selection is simply great. The whole thing in a very rustic, cozy atmosphere with very friendly service. The crowning glory, however, is the homemade Mexican. We'd love to come back.

A great pub with really lovely staff. Went on the weekend of August 3rd. - 05.08. In Hanover (Maschseefest and AC/DC concert). The Shakespeare was near our hotel. Go there and feel good. Clear recommendation to anyone who loves a pub atmosphere. I will definitely come back there. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️

The little things to eat are okay for a pub. But that's not why you go to Shakespeare's! That's the endless choice of drinks. That's why you simply order from the Pizzeria La Gazella to the pub (with a discount). They then simply bring the food over to the pub from across the street. The rustic ambience, the lovely people there and the warm service make the shop a second living room. By the way, if you're a non-smoker you won't notice the smoking area at the bar or outside.

Celebrated the European Championships with delicious cold Guinness. Top pub!

Was closed for private party on Saturday evening, but will not inform in a clear enough way: while we were there, 4 parties tried to come in. They will serve you, but expect you to leave with plastic glasses. Outside employee was rude. G&T drown in tonic.

The lady behind the bar at Christmas was really terrible! Apart from the fact that when we asked about the event being late, she only answered in an annoyed manner that we were unlucky and had to wait in the most impolite tone, she said that she couldn't understand us because she only spoke English, even though we spoke to her spoke in English. All that was missing was for her to spit in my glass. I will not visit the store again as long as such an unpleasant person works there. And I say that even though I had very good experiences with the team before!

It's always a pleasure to be able to stop by this pub with authentic charm! There is a range of different beers and typical English mixtures such as Snakebite on offer, as well as all sorts of gin and whiskey and snack food - a real pub! In addition, lively bar staff and an ambience where you feel comfortable! I've been there at Christmas or New Year's Eve and it was always nice. So it's no wonder that you should make a reservation on the weekend! Bingo is also a highlight. A real institution of the Hanoverian bar and pub scene!

Service top and prices absolutely fair

Sport is regularly broadcast in the pub. Rugby, golf and football. You quickly get into conversation with the guests at the counter. Unfortunately, word has gotten around that this is the best pub in Hanover. Often almost all seats are reserved, so a spontaneous beer becomes a stroke of luck.

Cozy English furnishings, the toilets are also a small highlight. Cheap gin offer on Wednesdays and Thursdays - great to try out. Very friendly and trustworthy staff.

Quaint pub with a great atmosphere and nice people. 🙂 There is not only a large selection of whiskeys here - but also English and Irish beers. A special highlight is the bingo evening on Friday. The large smoking room is also not unimportant for me. Unfortunately there aren't many smoking bars left.

Hello everyone! Nice, great mini gastro, bar full of different types of alcohol and whiskey. Super nice service, reservation is more advantageous because smoking is only allowed in a separate room due to the Intoxication Protection Act! Otherwise only in front of the door, as the space inside is quite small! Anyone who has once again come up with such nonsense about the law has no idea about gastronomy. Typical red tape in Germany. If this continues, the middle class will continue to go down the drain. No matter, otherwise recommended to anyone who wants to have a drink. Greetings to all

Delicious English beer. Prices are okay too. The selection of food is not large, but it is good (I recommend the three-story sandwich). The store isn't too big - so it's most pleasant when there's not too much going on. But the employees are always reliable, fast and friendly!

Been there for the first time and never again. I've never experienced someone so arrogant and unfriendly behind the bar. Although we remained very polite, the door was opened for us with the words "here is your place" and pointed to the tables outside...in the middle of winter. The one star is only here because there are no 0 stars Addendum: We called ahead to make a reservation and were told that we didn't have to because there was still something available for two people. When we were there, no one knew who could have said that. Anything can happen. No question. But the way to deal with it... to put us in our place like dogs outside, without words

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve 23/24 in the Shakespeare: the already cozy pub was lovingly decorated, sausages and homemade pasta salad were served for free, we played bingo, the music was great. We particularly liked the relaxed, nice atmosphere, the attentive service staff and the other guests with whom we got to talk. Thank you very much, thanx a lot, a very happy new year for the entire crew ♡ see you soon ☆

Tolle urige Kneipe, mit nettem Personal, einer großen Auswahl an Getränken und vielen unterhaltsamen Aktionen. Einziges Manko ist, dass man sowohl im Raucher- als auch Nichtraucher-Bereich sehr viel Rauch ausgesetzt ist. Der Nichtraucher-Bereich ist auch sehr klein. Es ist nun mal eher eine Raucher:innenkneipe 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ein schönes Guinness einfach lecker nette bedienung war ein schöner abschluss für den tollen abend .

Wczoraj szukając miejsca na kilka dramów, wpadłem na Shakespeare English Pub. Co prawda było dość gwarno i w głównej sali dym papierosów przeszkadzał w odbiorze jakichkolwiek aromatów, to przy barze było całkiem dobrze i wieczór spędziłem przy kilku dobrych dramach i przyjemnej rozmowie po Angielsku. Jedyny minus to średnio ogarnięta obsługa. Dwukrotnie po wyborze Whisky byłem zapewniamy, że nie mają jej na miejscu więc musiałem sam pofatygować się by pokazać im konkretną butelkę palcem na półce. Poza tym wieczór należał do udanych, a ceny są bardzo przystępne. Wpadnę na pewno ponowie na kilka ginów i duży wybór piw...

Sehr gemütlich, nettes Ambiente und sehr netter Service

Für mich ein absolutes ever Green! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und es gibt eine riesen Auswahl an Getränken. Diverse Event-Abende und die Dartscheiben laden auch zum längeren verweilen ein! Bei großem Hunger gibt es auch eine Kooperation mit der nah gelegenen Pizzeria 🍕 Viel Spaß!

Super umfangreiches Alkoholangebot. Nette Bedienung. Und das Quiz am Sonntag ist immer einen Abstecher wert.

Große Bierauswahl, nette Bedienung, geniales Ambiente. War bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Besser geht es nicht. Ein kleiner netter Pub mit superfreundlicher Bedienung, einer Whisky-Karte die schlicht phänomenal ist und dann noch gute Preise. Komme nicht aus Hannover, ansonsten wäre es meine definitive Stammkneipe. Essen nicht bewertet, weil die Getränke so nahrhaft waren ;-)

Uriger Traditionspub mit diversen Aktionen wie Tablequiz, Bingo, Whisk(e)y Probe. Aber auch einem offenen “Stammtisch“, um freies Sprechen in Englisch ungezwungen (auch mit Muttersprachler*innen zu üben. Mit Öffis sehr gut erreichbar. Bushaltestelle quasi vor der Tür und U-Bahn wenige Gehminuten entfernt.

Einer meiner lieblings Pubs in Hannover. Preiswertes Essen und leckeres Bier, Service immer super Nett und zuvorkommend. Freitags immer Bingo-Abend um 22:30 mit klasse Preisen. Sonntags Pubquiz mit super Stimmung, immer gerne wieder!

Mooie keuze Whisky, klein en vol met rokende stamgasten. Niet mijn keuze om daar nog een keer terug te gaan

Draussen kann man ganz OK sitzen und die Getränke sind gut. Essen auf typischen Pub-Niveau. Die Bedienung war nett, ist aber irgendwann (nicht wegen uns) komplett ausgerastet udn hatseinen Chef angebrüllt...brauch ich nicht beim Feierabendbier.

Ich fand es dort grauenhaft! Ich wurde respektlos behandelt, obwohl ich nur eine Frage stellen wollte. Da es aber noch geschlossen war, schmiss die Besitzerin mich hinaus,schrie mich an und der Hund bellte mich an ohne begrenzt zu werden. Ich war verängstigt. Sie ließ mich nicht zu Wort kommen und kam immer weiter auf mich zu, sodass ich rückwärts den Laden verlassen habe.

Uriges English Pup mit unglaublicher Auswahl an Bieren, Whiskies und Gin. Sehr gemütliche Athmosphäre, nette Bedienungen und hin und wieder mal auch ein bisschen schräg. Viele Events wie Bingo, English spoken table und Livefussball sowie Ruby runden das Ambiente ab. Snacks verschiedenster Art werden gereicht. Und um Missverständnissen vorzubeugen - das ist kein Restaurant, das ist ein Pub.
