A bit overpriced, but probably still acceptable for the motorway; North Sea restaurant not in operation; not much going on because the ambiance is not nice.

Unfortunately, there are only 4 charging points, and 2 of them were defective.

On December 2nd, 2025, the showers on both sides were broken. A disgrace to Serways, Tank & Rast. The salesman, who was very unfriendly and laughed at me, admitted himself that the showers had been broken for some time.

The showers in the parking lots on both sides of the road don't work. Each restaurant has two stalls, but suddenly everything is kaput. Judging by other reviews, this is a regular occurrence here, and they do it deliberately—either because they're being stingy or trying to save money. Basically, it's a no-no on the weekends. If you're facing the road, it's noisy.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but the kitchen is closed, so there is nothing decent to eat except panini, etc.

The shower 🚿 hasn't been working ⛔ for the last two weeks. You can get water at pumps 17/19. It's already full by 2:30 PM on Saturday. But you can still find a spot somewhere in the back, or risk it and park on oversized vehicles.

I don't even know what to say, Nordsee closed at 1 p.m., the saleswoman was unfriendly but the temporary worker was nice, but that was the worst bratwurst I've ever eaten… we were the only customers there, no wonder… we should have just stayed at the gas station…

The cashier says to pay for the shower at the cleaner's and she says the shower doesn't work... Two cabins, everything is new, will someone from the manager react... this is a disgrace what they are doing

The toilets are clean. The staff is friendly. Prices are extremely high, as is typical on the motorway.

Unfortunately, they pretend both showers aren't working. I guess they don't feel like cleaning them...

Quiet clean place I recommend to everyone

This person, just to avoid cleaning the shower, says it's not working. Even though the checkout counter said everything was fine. This is the first time I've encountered this.

Hello everyone There's a guy at the restaurant cash register who thinks he's a king. Be a gentleman. Management, please, keep an eye on him. He can't handle customer service. It's just awful.

The reluctant lady refused to let me in the shower. She's lying!!!! They say they don't have showers!!!! But they have 2 showers!!!!! Truck drivers, don't come here!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬

A rest stop couldn't be more shabby.

You pay for a shower with the cleaning lady, who can usually be found near the restrooms. You don't pay in the restaurant.

Very rude restroom staff. I wanted to use the restroom and was immediately told rudely, "You have to pay here," even though I hadn't even used the toilet yet. I'm used to using the restroom first, and then paying depending on how clean or satisfied you are. And then I even read in another review that the restroom is actually free. Simply outrageous. (But at least the restrooms were acceptable, hence the two stars.)

Great! You can stop there and eat a delicious goulash soup; the toilet is clean too.

The girls at the checkout and near the restroom are sad and unfriendly. I need to cheer them up somehow :)

The veggie baguette and farmer's baguette, along with the coffee, were delicious; the North Sea restaurant was closed at 6 p.m. A second fast-charging station for electric cars would be nice to reduce waiting times.

No German-speaking staff who understood me. I just wanted shower gel, which was out of stock. Too lazy to go to the store and get it. Thanks for nothing. Serways should be ashamed. The shower was a disaster, moldy, and no cleaning after use. Simply disgusting.

The restaurant part was gone, and they had nothing but bratwurst and pizza, and some baguette. Missed hot food.

Restrooms at the rest stop are reopened (very clean). Unfortunately, coffee and hot meals are not yet available.

Nice rest house, the cashier is a respectful person, Nord Sea doesn't work, there is a woman in the restroom who doesn't respect travelers, she put money in the plate even though she wasn't forced to and she wasn't there, and when she finished using the restroom and saw me she started muttering words that I didn't understand but what I did understand was that she was saying that I didn't put money in! I said I put money in out of kindness and I wasn't forced to but she said that she saw me!!!! When I complained to the cashier he said everyone complains about her.

Medium-sized parking lot; after 7 p.m., it's difficult to find a parking space. The restaurant has a limited selection and closes relatively early. I couldn't get anything to eat after 8 p.m., and during the day, only convenience food... nothing fresh and homemade for these prices... the staff were rather lackluster.

The menu said this was the North Sea, but it turned out that they only served the usual boring sandwiches

We only bought ice cream and chose the one we wanted from the menu, but 3 out of 4 were wrong. It was wrong twice, and we ended up with 5 sundaes. They were delicious, though!

Yesterday, after a bus trip, it was our last stop on the highway. Everyone was rushing to the restrooms, including me. Since I have limited mobility (which, thankfully, isn't obvious at first glance), I used the accessible restroom. It was clean, no question! The attendant looked at me questioningly, but it should be obvious: if I have a Euro key, I have the right to use that restroom. I was almost done with my business when I heard a knock from outside. I had just pulled up my pants when I heard the key from outside, and the attendant, who had just given me a strange look, opened the door for a wheelchair user. What's that all about? She knew I was in there... I would have liked to give it negative stars, but unfortunately, that's not possible...

Well... we were there at night, on our way to Denmark, and unfortunately it was closed, so the restrooms were unavailable, which was obviously less than ideal. At least we were still able to charge our car at the station without any problems.

I wouldn't stop there again. It's pointless to stop for refreshments. The sign says "North Sea," but I don't think it's been closed since yesterday. Mom only gets the usual gas station food these days. At least the restrooms were free.

Why do they write "North Sea" on it when at 6:20 p.m. there's just a meter-long empty stainless steel counter and at the end of it, next to the cash register, a handful of pre-baked muffins?

Overall, the shower was clean and dry, with no mold. And that's the only positive. 1. Payment only in cash to the lady who oversees the restrooms. 2. No toilet paper in the restroom, and no towels either. 3. No hangers (there's one you can hang a baseball cap on at most). 4. No hairdryer (or power outlet). 3 stars out of 5 is still too high.

You're forced to pay €1 for the toilet, and the way to the restroom is blocked by staff. However, the small print states that it's a voluntary donation. Very cheeky!

It's a shame the motorway sign says there's a North Sea here. No, there isn't a North Sea.

Don't buy cigarettes from the machine. The machine eats money, but doesn't give cigarettes. At the checkout they say call the info line. But as soon as they hear English, they immediately start speaking German.

Restrooms are clean. But the line at the checkout line lasts forever. Long lines, and yet no second checkout line opens.

Great rest stop! The Serways restrooms were super clean and a great place to stop for a break on the road. The coffee was also a pleasant surprise. Perfect for a quick stop. The music was good too. I'd love to come back if I get the chance.

Despite eating in the restaurant, there is no possibility to go to the toilet without cash (1€)

It wasn't very busy, but the staff were very motivated and very friendly! The coffee was good, and the piece of cake for our quick break was fresh and delicious. Plus, the double espresso was 30 cents cheaper than at the last stop...

I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere for a motorway service station. It wasn't that crowded either. The restrooms were super clean. There's no need to say anything more about the prices at motorway service stations...

A truly wonderful, very clean, and comfortable rest stop. We particularly liked the many comfortable sofas for sitting and relaxing, as well as the friendly staff. It's definitely worth a break.

There was nothing to complain about

The Sanifer restroom was dirty, with no soap in any of the men's dispensers. And as a bonus, a rip-off stuffed toy claw at the gas station entrance.

There is a shower and a toilet. I paid for the shower with a card, directly at the terminal of the girl near the toilet, 3 euros. Water near the gas station. One minus, it is noisy near the motorway.

You can't pay in the toilet without cash. There was a begging woman sitting there who had to pay 1 euro, she said she would clean it. Since I didn't have cash, she was very aggressive and wanted to kick me out, the restaurant staff was very kind and let me in. The begging lady was probably Polish from the way she spoke.

Very disappointing! The staff were extremely unfriendly both in the restaurant and in the restroom. After eating, you still have to pay a euro to use the restroom – you don't get a deposit slip or a receipt. This raises the legitimate question of whether this isn't actually generating undeclared income, since even income of one euro or more is subject to tax. At the checkout, you're also asked if you really don't want anything to drink, which seems very pushy. I was particularly impressed by the restroom staff: they smile at you if you don't want to pay a euro, and the only response they give is that everything has gone up in price. Absolutely not recommended for this level of service and atmosphere!

Only one star, it is not the customer's fault that they do not have a terminal to pay with a card, he wanted to go to the toilet and there he sat alone. At the entrance to the rest stop, you'll see a "Nordsee" sign (the original logo of the Nordsee chain), although there hasn't been a "Nordsee" sign here for a while. They only serve the usual sandwiches and sausages and such. Many guests left immediately when it became clear there was no Nordsee here. Out of sheer desperation and because our electric car was hooked up to charge, we each ate a large coffee and a sandwich (for two people) for €21. We definitely won't be stopping here again in the future. Rapid charging stations notwithstanding. Next time, the navigation system will be programmed accordingly. Unfortunately, we had to charge and only had 10% left, which was what we wanted. Definitely not a recommendation here. Drive a little further.

If you advertise a North Sea restaurant at the exit, but it is (probably permanently?) closed and only bratwurst or bockwurst is served, then that is embarrassing!

Toilets without lids! The lady has the only toilet seat because it wasn't even cleaned. She still collected money. It only had the bread roll department open, but the saleswoman was super nice.

Toilet 1 euro paid to a lady standing in front of a plate. There is no voucher for this, but there is a broken sink and an almost full paper container with unsavory smeared paper. As he was leaving, a man complained about a missing toilet seat, to which the lady stoically said, yes, it's broken... Better drive on, there are nicer rest stops!

Just don't drive. The staff seems unmotivated and annoyed by their customers and their own colleagues. You have to give one euro for the broken toilets. Information about defects will be politely noted. ;) All in all okay for a coffee. Beautiful is different

Once again: CLOSED around the clock! I called Serways on 0228 9220... you would be "grade unable"... Grade??? This has been the monopolist for quite a while! And not just in terms of emails and calls, but ESPECIALLY also in terms of service along the highway. Nobody will react anyway, but everyone should know about these conditions! I'm seriously considering going to the press about this.

I generally recommend not mentioning any rest stops in Germany. Expensive, dirty and unfriendly. Especially in travel, you have to rely on something that has neither been installed nor understood in Germany. Just look abroad.
