Sendling's Spezial Kebap House in München

I recently ate there for the first time. The kebab wasn't particularly special. In any case, it didn't stand out from the culinary point of view. I think the hype is simply greater than the quality. Or as the saying goes: more show than substance. I ate it all, but for a whopping €9, you'd expect more. Edible, but bland and boring. Best regards.

You order one thing, you get another! They don't even take the time to talk to you! They're disrespectful, rude! And they have absolutely no respect for foreigners!

Naah fam, this could have been better. Ordered kebab box chicken with fries (9€). I *literally* got kebab with fries. Never been to a Döner shop where they didn’t add veggies to the kebab box. I recently ate at the Sendlinger Dönerhaus in Munich. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed because the food was tasteless and seemed hastily prepared, which was probably due to the large crowds. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, though, I wouldn't go there again.

Hands down the best chicken döner in Germany and Türkiye! Also the best yaprak döner I tried in Germany so far. Get the extra meat, it's definitely worth. They have a lot of options to choose from. Adana kebap, lahmacun, beef fillet steak, köfte and so on. Beware; there is probably a queue that you need to wait for 20-30 minutes in average. I don't get in any queue easily even if I'm hungry but they deserve the fame. Huge portions, reasonable prices, awesome food!

The kebab is absolutely fine! The service is quite unfriendly, and while it seems rushed, it rarely makes any progress. As I said, it's a good and fair kebab, but with better service, it could have been better. Edit: I just received a Google removal notice on August 21, 2025, at 8:28 PM for defamation regarding this review. Actually, I'm actually wondering about the rating system now. Please, where did I defame you? In any case, I definitely won't be coming back after something like this.

As a Munich native, I can say that this place is among the top three kebab shops in Munich. I haven't even had one this good in Berlin.

Very good food. We had a doner kebab with extra meat (chicken) and a falafel plate, excellent value for money. We were really pleasantly surprised. Update: They now offer beef, and I have to say, it was incredibly tasty and juicy. My only criticism is that it's too expensive for the price. I have to compare it to Ferhat Doner Kebab, where the bread is just perfect and the filling is also very generous. But otherwise, the doner kebab is fine 👍

The kebab contained a maximum of 50 grams of meat. Nice salad, but no burger. Never again!

Update 8/25: Both are now €2 more expensive, but still reasonable, really large fries are €5. Once again excellent and still excellent value for money. The team is very professional and fast. Be prepared to wait a bit. If you don't like fresh cilantro, please let me know (I do). €6 for a falafel sandwich, €10 for a veal durum with extra meat.

The veal is delicious and wonderfully seasoned. One of the few kebabs in Munich that tastes great with just onions and tomatoes, without any sauce. Get there early, there's always a long line!

You can't come to Munich and not try German döner here. The meat döner runs out around 6-7 o'clock, but the chicken seems to be always available. There's usually a queue, on average, for a döner with a drink and a drink, around 11 €.

I wanted to try the hype and was not disappointed. Very fresh and good ingredients, good bread. However, I found the meat a bit low. The homemade ayran was also excellent, but a bit overpriced. Furthermore, the copper cups, while looking good, are unfortunately completely pointless due to their metallic taste.

I don't understand the hype. Doner kebabs are mediocre at best, and what's coriander doing in a doner kebab? People have lost all respect.

We were used to other types of kebabs, so we decided to try them and were pleasantly surprised. It had a generous amount of meat and the freshly baked bread was delicious. The place is a bit small but highly recommended.

This was the most satisfying döner restaurant we visited during our trip to Munich. Unlike the German style, it's served with leaf meat döner, just like in Turkey, and the flavor is enhanced with special sauces, adding a unique touch. The quality of the meat, combined with the freshness of the bread and fillings, creates a truly satisfying experience. The restaurant is also incredibly welcoming. We're especially grateful for the soda they offered upon learning we were from Turkey. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

Very good doner kebab, with plenty of fresh and grilled vegetables. There are several sauces, fresh falafel, and chicken and veal options to choose from. In addition to doner and durum, there are also hot daily specials. The special kebab is on the higher end for a doner kebab, but the long line of people outside the shop every lunchtime says it all. Thanks to the large number of staff, you usually don't wait more than 10 minutes. That's acceptable. I enjoy coming here regularly.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would. The kebap sandwiches are the BEST. So good I ate here 2 times today. The beef and chicken are both fabulous. The homemade bread/buns are delicious. I love how friendly and welcoming the staff are. You must eat here.

This was our first time at Sendling Spezial Döner, and I never normally write reviews, but these really deserve it. The kebab was really good, the chicken perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, just perfect. The service was outstanding: The staff were incredibly friendly and even offered us free kebab meat to try, as well as various sauces to try, and two pieces of baklava. You can really tell the passion they put into their work here, from the quality to the way they treat their customers. From now on, for me: Best kebab in Munich. Period. We'll definitely be back!

I went there today based on the rating on Google Maps. It's no surprise that it's so highly rated. It was one of the best döner kebabs I've ever had. I loved it. The filling was very filling. Absolutely delicious & incredibly seasoned!!! I was there on a rainy Saturday afternoon (it always rains when I go to Munich 😎)... Nice little restaurant in Sendling; for me, a typical hood kebab (awesome). The place was packed & it's the OG restaurant. There's another restaurant at Rindermarkt. I waited about 25 minutes to order. Sermed and his team were really stressed. I ordered a chicken kebab sandwich (they don't just serve kebabs here, but plenty of other delicacies). The meat was perfectly grilled, despite the large crowd. They take great care, and it's especially important with poultry. The chef used incredibly amazing seasoning, unfortunately only on the top of the sandwich. The first few bites were phenomenal. Incredibly strong! The sandwich is very well filled, but a bit smaller than I had hoped. The meat tastes good, and it's a really tasty snack! The team is really friendly and cool; I'd love to come back (150km) and order with extra, EXTRA spices 🤗🤟

A great place that, thanks to a few YouTubers, has evolved from a suburban kebab shop to a top destination. And the hype is actually true. Very tasty and balanced kebabs, friendly and efficient staff. My recommendation: the veal kebab – for the juicy and well-browned meat. The atmosphere is rather drafty and crowded, so it's best to eat outside.

To be honest, that was really disappointing. I ordered a doner kebab box, and what I got was absolutely not what I expected: fries with absolutely no salt, some of the meat was really burnt and tasted bitter as a result. The worst part: The doner kebab box came with no salad, no sauce, absolutely nothing. Just dry meat on dry fries – you can't be serious?! Selling something like that as a doner kebab is absolutely unacceptable to me. As an influencer, I like to share good food experiences – but unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.

The doner sauce wasn't really my taste, but everyone has different tastes. Otherwise, the place was friendly and clean. It was quite busy at lunch, but the service was still quick.

Everything was perfect 🤩 The food tasted so good, it wasn't just food, it was an experience. I've tried many kebab plates, but what I ate today was in a different league.

Unfortunately, this is no longer the great Sendling's Spezial Kebap it was a year ago. I'm a regular customer and unfortunately, I've noticed that the quality and, above all, the consistency have declined. However, the following experiences have led me to look for another kebab shop in Munich: 1. Price increase (for about 2 weeks) 2. Extra meat costs €2, but no time I've ordered it has there been noticeably more meat on it. It feels more like there's less meat in the standard kebab now, and extra meat is what it used to be (hidden price increase). 3. The team is uncoordinated during peak hours. You have to request extras like extra meat or a selection of vegetables, etc. yourself. 4. Card payments are only accepted for orders over €10. This means that they're no longer possible if you just order a kebab sandwich for €8/€9. The cash register is always open; anyone who thinks otherwise is a scoundrel. 5. Hummus used to be available in kebabs, but that wasn't possible the last two times I was there. Seems like the old saying holds true: If a kebab shop opens another location, things go downhill.

After 12 minutes in line, your order was forgotten. The cashier was unfriendly and looked at you as if he were about to start a fight.

Boss, I hope you're reading this. I drove almost 12 km to see you because I thought you could trust the food influencers. But the kebab we got was the worst I've ever eaten, and all of us, have ever eaten. They didn't even provide clean plates. There were four of us there, and my wife felt sick while eating. The sauce was simply a disgrace. And the bread? A bad joke. An insult to any decent baker. Habibi, that was my first and certainly my last visit to you. Every kebab shop around the corner does a better job. And no, I'm not a competitor, just a genuinely disappointed customer. For almost 50 euros, I really would have expected something different. This comment is still worded kindly compared to what I actually wanted to write.

My favorite kebab shop in all of Munich! No matter when I go, the line is usually long – but it's always worth it. The dürüm and ayran are simply delicious. It's small inside, but sitting outside is much more comfortable anyway. The meat is always fresh, and they never skimp on the quantity. The portions are huge. I always enjoy coming back.

Veal doner with extra meat is worth every cent. The taste is great. The portion is good. Not as small as at "Hans." Not too big. The salad and vegetables here are particularly unique. I love coming here. Note: The picture might look a bit unfortunate. The doner looks really great to go or in the store.

The quality and taste are definitely top-notch and hard to beat. However, I know of other kebabs that are of a similar standard. The portion size and amount of meat are also reasonable for the price. At another equally hyped location, I was sold something called a kebab that was more like a vegetable sandwich. The service could be improved. Although there was a large stack of wrapped napkins on the counter, apparently no one had time to unwrap them, so there were none available for customers.

Unfortunately, one star will have to suffice. And with that, I mean that a food was prepared and served over the counter for consumption without causing illness. Still. I had a veal doner kebab with just onions and tomatoes. I 100% doubt it was veal. Maybe mutton, horse?? In any case, the color was much too dark. The taste was fishy. A disgusting aftertaste in my mouth that lasted for hours. Even my fingers stank as if I'd grabbed the mutton between its legs. For comparison, I'm attaching two photos. This is what my veal doner looks like when I make it. The taste is completely different from the product they sell here anyway. Ambience: well, there's apparently only one kebab shop designer in Germany. And he's determined that kebab shops should be uncomfortable, too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, and, above all, filthy. Only then will they make their potential customers feel comfortable. Service: It's best not to ask questions or make demands. Reminds me of the boarding process with EasyJet about 17 years ago. So, no one needs them. Cleanliness/Hygiene: Some people wear black gloves. Why exactly? They constantly switch between preparing food and taking payment. I would prefer it, and it would be more in line with Robert Koch's philosophy, if they didn't bother with the gloves and instead washed their hands every now and then when changing positions. Conclusion: Not a good product, at least as far as the doner kebab is concerned. The ayran from the tap was very tasty. My recommendation: Make your own doner kebab if you live in Munich.

The best kebab and falafel in town! I’ve been coming here regularly for the past two years, and it never disappoints. The falafels are always made fresh, and the salads have that little extra. The guys behind the counter are always in a great mood. The line is often long, but it moves faster then you think and totally worth it.

The staff at Sendlinger Izgara Kebab were irritable, rude, and disrespectful from the start. They either reacted irritably to normal questions or didn't respond at all, making you feel completely unwelcome as a customer. Even at a busy time, that doesn't justify such a rude tone. The food may be okay – but anyone who treats their guests like that should seriously reconsider the term "customer service." That was definitely it for me. Never again

The best kebab I've ever eaten!

The doner kebab is an absolute masterpiece. I've only ever seen something like it in Turkey, and the fact that it's available in Germany is simply a dream. The only negative aspect is the price of the drinks, but it doesn't detract from the fascinating taste of the doner kebab.

Very crowded (OK, I was there at lunchtime), hectic (they want to please everyone), the food (doner kebab) was good (extremely positive: veal), but the lemon squeezed without asking added an unwanted acidity to the dish. If you order the white, you can say "without lemon"; it was just added without asking; I'm not familiar with that (neither from Berlin nor from Hamburg). That's probably what makes the doner kebab "special." At €8.50 for a doner kebab, I find it extremely expensive. But reviewers can argue about that. If you want, you can even order a pizza with mushrooms; I don't know what that has to do with 'doner man'. Overall, it's OK, but not worth the hype.

Kebab really good with different types of meat and nice sitting outside. But the sauces not so much. Such a strange taste as if from fish. Strangely overpowers the taste of meat, a great shame. So I recommend having a meal without them altogether.

Unfortunately, it's really uncomfortable, and we were able to eat outside. I wouldn't want to eat inside. The people waiting are practically standing on the tables where customers are eating.

Towards the end, he gave me some free veal to try, since I had a chicken kebab and wanted to see how delicious the veal was. Despite the large number of customers, the wait was short.
