Seerestaurant St. Alban in Dießen am Ammersee

I'm writing this review because my family and I were so humiliated by the Pavic family of restaurateurs, and this is a great way to make your voice heard. Now to the facts: After the appetizers were served, my brother explicitly told the waiter that we would have to wait half an hour for the main course. A short while later, the waiter came over and said the main courses were ready and asked if he could serve them. My brother replied that he couldn't eat anything yet and that he had requested a break. The waiter then said that it was his fault, whereupon my brother expressed his desire to speak to the chef, Simon Pavic. After we heard nothing more, the main course arrived after the requested break. We therefore believed everything was okay. After I expressed a request for a new reservation to Pavic's sister that evening, she just smiled at me smugly and said I couldn't get any new reservations, she was currently writing me an email, and I could read it right away. She said we were unpleasant guests (6 people) whom they didn't want in their restaurant... we were also 10 minutes early, which wasn't acceptable because the table was still occupied... and the food had to be thrown away. A good restaurateur would have approached the problem, which was clearly the fault of the waiter, in a solution-oriented manner, but Mr. Pavic didn't come to our table as we had requested, because then we would certainly have found a solution to the problem that was satisfactory for both sides. So the whole incident seemed to us like a reversal of the perpetrator/victim, and the entire behavior of him and his sister with a quasi-regular customer (we've been there a total of 8 times with family and friends in the last 3 months) must be described as a gastronomic/human "masterpiece" that is unparalleled. If you read the negative reviews on various portals, the Pavic family's behavior is a recurring theme. Conclusion: Never be dissatisfied with anything, express special requests, or even complain to the owner, Pavic, otherwise you'll be considered an unwelcome guest and receive an email banning you from the establishment.

Once again, an extremely pleasant evening with the usual excellent food and great wines. However, the prices are now very high.

Guests at the Seerestaurant St. Alban on Lake Ammersee. We dined at the Seerestaurant St. Alban on Lake Ammersee for a good friend's birthday party. As soon as you enter the restaurant, the ambiance captivates you, making you feel like you're on vacation in the sunny south. The dining room is tastefully decorated, and the aroma of wonderful food practically makes your mouth water. To kick off the evening, a bottle of Ruinart Rosé was opened. We ordered our meals in excellent company. The waiters are very attentive, and as soon as you express a wish, it is fulfilled in no time. If you're undecided about what kind of wine you'd like, trust the expert wine recommendation. Also worth mentioning are the beautiful glasses and the loving presentation of the food. (See pictures). We are thrilled and would gladly return. The prices are moderate for the great, fresh quality of the food. Whether meat, fish, pasta dishes, or pizza. Just try the entire menu; you'll be amazed! We look forward to our next visit to St. Alban.

The stunning lakeside location, the delicious food, and the very friendly service all encourage us to spend at least one or two evenings at the lakeside restaurant whenever we're in the area.

We stopped by yesterday after successfully cycling around the lake. It was a spontaneous visit, and we were allowed to sit wherever we wanted. We didn't have to wait long for the food. The pizza was incredibly delicious, and my Croatian meal was okay, but I personally wouldn't order it again. The meat was very firm in texture, but that's probably how it should be. When you venture into a culinary experiment, it's your own fault if it doesn't 100% suit your personal taste. The ambiance, the service, and the entire location are truly exceptional and definitely worth a visit!

I visited this restaurant earlier this week and had the best experience. Despite peak season and the evening rush, and the restaurant being fully booked, they found two seats for us on the beautiful terrace. We didn't have a reservation. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. And the best part: I forgot my favorite cap there. After calling, it was quickly and free of charge. Many thanks to the team for this! The food is truly delicious and always beautifully presented, and the waiters are all incredibly friendly! Such a lovely atmosphere! The food has been getting more and more expensive for years, and unfortunately, you can't notice any difference or improvement in quality. We've been eating here regularly for five years, and the renovations are the only explanation for the constantly rising prices. We've eaten there at least 20 times - I've added a few pictures.

Beautiful ambience – with minor weaknesses in terms of value for money The restaurant boasts a stunning location directly on the lake – you could hardly imagine a more beautiful setting. The ambiance is stylish, the service attentive and professional – all around pleasant. The food was generally good and in keeping with the restaurant's standards. However, the oysters were not of the highest quality – you wouldn't expect overfed farmed oysters at this level. The Wiener Schnitzel, while very tasty, was definitely too small for the portion size at €35. Overall, it's still a recommendation for a special occasion, especially for its location and atmosphere. Those who dine here should be aware, however, that the price and quality are not always in line.

The entire complex is extremely well maintained and the cuisine and service leave nothing to be desired. Small jetty with some guest berths. (Register with the sailing club beforehand!) Beautiful green area with a sandy beach and crystal-clear Ammersee water. A must for every lover of Merterranean cuisine!

For a Yugoslavian restaurant, the ambiance is pleasantly high-quality. The beautiful winter garden, with its many seats offering a lovely view of the lake, is particularly noteworthy. The prices are reasonable for the location, and the dishes were undoubtedly good. We would go back.

Auf Nachfrage, ob wir den Tisch tauschen könnten, wurden wir vom äußerst arroganten Chef persönlich abgekanzelt. Wir sollen uns nicht so anstellen, als Segler hätten wir ja genügend Seeblick. Um das Gespräch zu beenden, schloß er uns vor der Nase die Glasschiebetür. Das Essen war durchschnittlich zum überdurchschnittlichen Preis. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Wir werden dieses Restaurant ganz sicher nicht mehr besuchen.

I've gained a new favorite spot. Even though I made a reservation for lunch online that morning, I spontaneously got two more seats. Adding two more chairs to the table was no problem either. The food? A poem! From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was of a high standard. Freshness, quality, and refinement in perfect harmony. Our dishes were made from fresh ingredients, prepared to perfection, and attractively presented. Someone in the kitchen seems to really enjoy their work and sets high standards for themselves. If you're looking for enjoyment on all levels—culinary and atmospheric—this is the place for you. This restaurant sets standards and will remain in our fondest memories for a long time to come. After a long journey on our first day of vacation, we chose this restaurant "on the spur of the moment" and only called shortly before arriving to check availability. We were offered a table in the entrance area in a very friendly and uncomplicated manner; however, we were immediately able to move to a vacant table on the terrace. Very good, friendly service, a great atmosphere with a lake view, and a varied menu. The pizzas we chose were very good and huge. The Croatian white wine was also very tasty. We highly recommend it, even if it's not exactly good value for money. Besides the food, we particularly remember the very attentive service.

A truly wonderful restaurant located directly on the lake. There are tables both outside and under a semi-open terrace area, which we found wonderfully shady and of high quality. The service was very friendly, and the food was excellent – ​​we especially liked the tuna tartare in rice paper, which was truly wonderfully seasoned. The shrimp and calamari were also perfectly cooked. Overall, the ambiance, the sun, the view of the lake, and the Mediterranean food truly made us feel like we were on the Mediterranean. The price is, of course, on the higher side, but overall, it's in keeping with what was offered. We would (and will) gladly return. Thank you very much!

NAUSEA AFTER SOLE: The positives first: We got a table in the middle quickly and easily, and service was there for us until then. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the sole we ordered for €44. The waiter later admitted that he had already found it strangely rubbery while filleting it - however, he hadn't done anything about it, but had dutifully arranged it on the plates. It would have been nice if the waiter had come back after serving to ask if everything was okay. Then we could have sent the dish back (the second dish with shrimp and side dishes wasn't exactly great either, but they were halfway okay). At our request, the waiter (perhaps out of a guilty conscience???) consulted with the manager several times. There was no concession regarding the sole - they offered us a coffee or dessert, but we had already lost our appetite. That evening/night, we developed stomach aches/nausea.

A visit to this enchanting restaurant is always like a day on vacation. Very friendly and attentive staff, a beautiful view of Lake Ammersee, and excellent cuisine—a visit to the lakeside restaurant is always a great pleasure. We visit several times a month. There's also a large selection of excellent wines.
