Restaurant Thymian in Dießen am Ammersee

The Thymian Restaurant is a great place for anyone looking for food of outstanding quality. The service was very attentive and courteous and when we asked about the right wine pairing, the waitress assigned the right wine based on her first impression of us. The steak was cooked to perfection and almost melted in your mouth. And the sweet ending was also on point.

Great food, we tried different tapas, in the higher price segment. The service was very friendly, but it took a while to get going. The wine came late, but again was very good.

Small portions, ambitious prices and pretty insensitive staff - you have to like it...

If you want to eat tapas, there is no better place anywhere. Family celebrations are also well organized. The staff is super friendly. We always enjoy coming over.

Toller, freundlicher Service. Sehr leckeres Essen. Pan con Tomaca war sehr lecker. Und meine Frau kann es beurteilen, denn sie kommt aus Barcelona. Auch die anderen Tapas waren hervorragend. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Besuch. Und da wir in ein paar Tagen an den Ammersee ziehen wird es wohl eines unserer Stammrestaurants. Einzig das Ambiente könnte m.M.n. etwas moderner sein und die Terrasse fand ich nicht sehr kuschelig.

UPDATE 2024 We were there on August 30th. back and we were happy that the restaurant is still there. They have nice staff and we found the food very good. The three of us first ordered 5 tapas and that would have been good for a little something, but we liked them so much that we ordered a second round with 3 more tapas. Maybe the prices are a bit high but the dishes are fresh and that's a lot of value. We'd love to come back! ********* Nice place, with a great wine list. The staff is friendly. I do not agree with the previous reviewers regarding the tapas. Some of them tasty but most of them overpriced...

The food is very good, the service and the wine selection are also great. The atmosphere is homely and yet modern. Reservation is necessary, otherwise there is almost no space available.

We have been guests here a few times and have been completely thrilled every time. This time we celebrated a birthday here. Delicious tapas - each of which is a small dish and is freshly prepared. Super nice service. We were allowed to bring our dog with us and were duly greeted at the entrance by Sunny, the restaurant dog.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that good - the dates in bacon were burnt on both sides - completely black - the complaint was met with a bit of a lack of understanding. Also the potatoes weren't as they should be - with black edges.

I've been living in Dießen am Ammersee for a long time, but I've only been visiting this great restaurant recently! Kleine Tapas-Karte, alles wirklich sehr gut, wenn auch nicht pur Spanisch sondern Crossover. Sehr sehr gute Weinkarte. Man sitzt gemütlich, Service auf Zack und sehr freundlich. Absolut empfehlenswert.

There were four of us and we simply ordered everything from the Tappas menu from top to bottom and later ordered our favorite dishes again (good eaters). Everything was very tasty. Particularly worthy of mention are the incredibly juicy, crumbly and well-seasoned lamb chops, the stuffed quail and of course the goat cheese gratin. But everything else tasted excellent too. We were served in a friendly and courteous manner. There was always someone nearby to clear plates, bring fresh bread or accommodate requests for additional drinks. Then a Crema Catalana with an ultra-thin, extra-smooth sugar level - wonderful. We would like to come again.
