Unfortunately the food in the beer garden is only medium good... it would be nice if they would work on the quality of the food!

Beautifully situated on the lake, it offers a wide selection of seating options, from a classic self-service beer garden setting to an outdoor restaurant. Located next to the English Garden, it's a great place to take a stroll before or after the visit.

Very nice place but food a little expensive

The beer garden is beautiful as always. However, I was surprised that twice I received a glass that wasn't washed particularly well. The edge of the glasses still had dirt spots from their predecessors. The outside toilets aren't kept particularly clean either, women (as my wife said) and men, although there is a lovely, nice woman sitting outside the stairs, hoping and waiting for a baby. Regular cleaning I think could be done more often a day. I know it differently from before.

Nestled in the English Garden it is a great place to relax and have a bite to eat. Obviously the beer is excellent.

We ate at the indoor restaurant then had a drink in the outdoor biergarten. Food is a little pricy but delicious, and servers were very friendly and attentive. The biergarten is a lovely setting next to the lake

A very atmospheric, pleasant place to drink a beer and eat some Bavarian food. Beer is cheaper than in the garden located nearby at the pagoda. A lot of space, with a small number of people in the quite hot period of May 1.

Great spot by the water. Good vibes. The pork knuckle didn't look too great so I ordered the roast pork / porchetta and that was wonderful.

Nice afternoon on the terrace. Great veal schnitzel, really good cake. Quality really very good. The audience was sometimes strangely snobby, but fun to watch, as is usual in restaurants of this class in Munich. Prices are steep, but my, nice location in Munich with reasonable quality. At the public viewing, the beer garden at the back of the lake is completely empty, there are a few people at the front at the screen and security doesn't let anyone in and a long queue is artificially created. Before and during the game, people are constantly saying that more people will be allowed in. After halftime, after the beer garden has emptied even more, everyone is sent home and no one is allowed in. Truly by far the most unpleasant experience at public viewing this year

Location very nice, food absolutely recommended. Service itself is motivated, but mostly very unfriendly. Of about 5 service staff, only the service at our table was “nice”. From everyone else, neither a smile nor a kind word. But the crowning achievement was the “boss”, i.e. operations or service manager, who, after I asked where the table on our reservation was, asked for the first time whether we had already reserved here. When I then asked him whether he wasn't the right person to contact, he stalked away. But sometimes the first impression of Gucci sneaker wearers is not misleading.

Were in the beer garden, everything was great, very good food, beer anyway. Definitely coming back.

Very nicely located, direct view of the water, very poor value for money, mediocre food at hefty prices... Simple white bratwurst with fries for over €16.

A restaurant in English gardens Traditional food, a very busy Sunday

Food was good, around 20 Eur, Supercharging a Tesla, while eating 28 Eur, 6 month later a fine for using the parking from Mobility Hub parkservice, Taxaris GmbH, 120,90- EUR !!! EDIT: I apologize, we really had lunch here in Seehaus, but the Supercharger is at Hirschau, so I changed the stars appropriately. Seriously Hirschau? The only reason, we stayed 53 minutes, was delay while having lunch in the restaurant and spending more money, also during other charging times.

Nice place to eat. Lots of choice

We were there yesterday, wonderful ambience by the lake, great food and sensationally bad and rude service! I don't think I've ever had to wait so long for my coffee and bill anywhere else. There was no smile, just indifferent and arrogant attitude towards the customer.

It is a good place to go to spend the day, with good views of the lake. The workers are very friendly, you can eat and drink, highly recommended.

Very nicely located. A knuckle with coleslaw, Bretzn and Radlermass cost 44 euros on June 29, 2022, not exactly cheap. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit.

I have never experienced such lousy service in Munich. If you come from North Rhine-Westphalia, it's really difficult to get used to such a grumpy attitude. They treated us like we had owed them billions for ten years. If you come from another part of Germany or another European country, then it's better not to go here. The food is acceptable, but nothing more.

Big disappointment on Easter Sunday – never again Seehaus Munich On Easter Sunday we were looking for a place for brunch at short notice and thankfully we were able to spontaneously get a place in the Seehaus - initially a pleasant surprise, for which we were really grateful. Unfortunately, the joy was already over. What then followed was a consistently disappointing stay, characterized by organizational chaos, a lack of understanding of service and, unfortunately, a feeling of deliberate rip-off. Our waiter was visibly overwhelmed, which can't be blamed on him personally - he seemed new and didn't seem to get any support from the rest of the team. But the fact that this even happens in such a high-priced location is questionable in itself. When we asked politely whether my twelve-year-old niece could have a small à la carte breakfast - a roll with Nutella and a glass of water or something similar - this was categorically denied. So with a heavy heart we decided on the brunch buffet, including for them, because according to the internet (we have a screenshot) children aged 6 to 12 should pay 39 euros instead of 89 euros. But in the end we were charged around 500 euros for five people - for our twelve-year-old niece we were charged the full price of 89 euros. When we asked, we were suddenly told that the discount only applies to children under twelve, i.e. up to eleven years. A clear contradiction to the information communicated on the website. There's no other way to put it: we were simply lied to here - for an additional amount of 50 euros, which a restaurant in this price range certainly wouldn't need if it worked honestly. As we continued, we wanted to order another bottle of Crémant - four glasses arrived. This is actually not acceptable in a house of this category. The absolute lowest point, however, was the farewell: Despite all the disagreements, we remained polite and said a friendly goodbye to the receptionist and one of the senior employees with a “Happy Easter”. The reaction: pure ignorance. Both simply turned away, without a word, without a look - an arrogance that is rarely experienced. The overall impression: If you don't look like the typical luxury guest, you'll not only be treated badly here, you'll also be charged. Customer service? Equal to zero. Humanity? None. Conclusion: The lake house apparently only lives on appearances - and on the money of those who willingly pay for it. For everyone else: stay away. Never again.

The portions are unfortunately too small in relation to the price... otherwise it's nice

The beer garden at the Seehaus is really a wonderful place to relax. The location right on the lake creates an incredibly pleasant atmosphere - ideal for a relaxing afternoon or evening. I can particularly recommend the currywurst with fries – honestly the best I’ve eaten so far! Delicious sausage, spicy sauce, perfectly fried fries – simply great. A real highlight in the middle of the English Garden!

Now this time we had a corner that wasn't intended. Our waiter tried very hard, but wasn't fit yet...the food was excellent: tartare...! wonderful..!

We were in the beer garden for the first time. Location is perfect and we also had great weather and sat right by the lake. We only had something small to eat and a few beers. We were very shocked by the prices charged for food and drinks. When two beers and a special cost €17, you start to think about it. Otherwise good and would go again.

The lake house in the English Garden is truly a special experience. The location right on the lake is simply fantastic. In the summer, sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the water is a dream. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. I was particularly impressed by the combination of Bavarian warmth and stylish ambience. The food was consistently excellent: fresh, creative and perfectly prepared. I had the zander fillet, which was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a fine white wine. For me, the Seehaus is one of the best addresses in Munich. I'll definitely be back!

I can only report on the restaurant, we didn't visit the beer garden next door. The location is very nice, really idyllic, especially when the weather is nice. Our waiter was very friendly, if a bit hectic, but overall very nice. The food is of good quality. However, the prices are ABSURD for what is offered. Please don't say you have to calculate like in the previous posts if you use beef carpaccio from the package (one of our group could clearly see that this is what is being used), make a mayonnaise from the bucket and 3 leaves of rocket on top and then sell it for 28€. This has nothing to do with calculation. You can definitely eat the same food in Munich, but for 1/3 of the price. We will no longer visit the lake house. As I said, the location is nice, the staff attentive, but the prices are close to outrageous.

Was there for a corporate event with a set menu but the standard was incredibly good, there were over 60 people in our party but the staff ensured we were well looked after. The restaurant is very picturesque and it's a great location.

You can visit the home of the BussiBussiSociety. But it doesn't have to. I'd rather stay outside in the beer garden. Great.

Beer garden right on the lake has something special. Unfortunately the prices are completely exaggerated - €6.10 for a wheat beer. If that doesn't bother you, this is the right place because the location is fantastic.

On Sundays at 1 p.m., they no longer serve roast pork here. Cheese spaetzle is also sold out. My alternative, meatballs with a roll, was at least good. Other beer gardens in Munich have a much wider selection of food.

After a civil ceremony in Munich, I was able to attend the wedding reception at the Seehaus yesterday – a location in Munich that immediately captivated me as a wedding photographer! The Seehaus is a good ten-minute walk from the registry office on Mandlstrasse – a relaxing stroll right along the lake. Perfect for those who appreciate short walks for their guests and a beautiful backdrop for the transition to the celebration. On the way to the venue, some beautiful bridal photos were spontaneously taken – relaxed and without much staging. The Seehaus's location right on the water is fantastic – for the champagne reception on the terrace, we had a wonderful backdrop of sunshine and a panoramic lake view. The food was also excellent. Special mention goes to Ivan from the service team, who was flexible and attentive. He quickly moved the reception outside when the rain stopped and, in addition to the wedding party, always kept an eye on me as the service provider. Thank you so much for the fantastic support! I'm already looking forward to the next wedding at the Seehaus in Munich – a real recommendation for couples looking for a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere.

I used to be aregular here and its still fun for drinking, but the food is all self service and poor quality. There is very little choice, other than the standard fare. Their website said they had more choices, but this was untrue. Also getting expensive.

If the guest orders a dish to take away, then it should be the complete dish as it appears on the menu and not just half of it.

It's a restaurant steeped in history. It has a beautiful location in the English garden and a view of the water. We were in a small group for dinner at the Seehaus. We had a reservation, which is recommended. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and there's plenty of space between the tables. We were shown to our table in a friendly manner. The service team was cheerful and competent. We were served promptly. The ordered dishes were taken and served within a reasonable time. Good beer, good wine, everything was excellent. Unfortunately, that's not the case with the food. We ordered beetroot tartare, house-cured "Graved Salmon," mixed salad, Seehaus shrimp pan, house-made veal patties, butter-basted halibut, grilled salmon steak. The ingredients in the dishes, especially the potato and cucumber salad, had a taste of something not produced on-site. This was also the case with the other side dishes. The side dishes were simply lacking in freshness. The quality didn't match the price. The waitress took note of this criticism and said she would pass it on to the kitchen. No one from the kitchen came, which is a shame. This could be improved. Overall, it was a lovely evening at the Seehaus.

The battery is almost empty and there is no socket in sight - but luckily there are power banks to borrow here. Really good move!

Menú was excellent. Portions had very good size and delicious flavor. Duck and Veal is what we ordered. Service was a bit slow at the beginning but improved. The view is relaxing and enjoyable.

The duck was very dry and the red cabbage was overcooked. A mouse ran through the dining room several times and the waitress insisted on a 10% tip when paying. Not so, dear Kuffler family. Maybe that's why the lake house is empty on Friday evenings. In any case, you have lost us as guests today.

Seehaus has been my favorite Munich beergarden for 30 years and on any sunny day it’s a sure winner! The service isn’t great - hey, it’s Germany, okay - but the beer is great, the food decent, and the people watching can’t be beat!

Beer garden: Nice place in terms of location. Overpriced for self-service: 1 beer 6.10 euros and 1 dry pretzel 2.50. The beer tables have acquired a patina over the years and are said to exude a certain antique charm. In my opinion it doesn't match the elegant look of the restaurant and the prices.

Perfect for socializing with a relaxing view

A very nice place, but when the weather is nice it's so busy that it's hard to find a place.

Everything was okay, but unfortunately nothing more. We had starters: Potato soup - was very tasty Pumpkin soup - was okay Main course: Spaghetti Vongole - was okay, but a little too lemony Salmon steak - too well done and the hollandaise sauce was not homemade Service was nice, but not attentive enough. Overall, we expected more for the price. Next time we'll be back in Freisinger Hof :)

Mostly no service, you can wait more then 20 minutes to see how stuff is walking around , after you go to catch someone, and ask to come to you table. He came some minutes later to say that this hall is not on service anymore and you have to move to another hall. Couple of seconds later he turned to another table to take the order for drinks.. So we were not able to taste their kitchen. Wasting of my time was enough.

I've eaten at the Seehaus several times on business and each time the service and food have been very good. The ambience is also very nice. Clear recommendation!

After so many days in Munich, every dish in this restaurant tastes very delicious. Today I ordered Bavarian roast pork, filet mignon Medium, and Norwegian salmon. All three dishes are highly recommended, and the service is also very attentive.

The sundowner is of course a dream. In contrast to the Chinese Tower, the beer garden can be opened here even in moderate weather.

Been there again after a very long time... everything was just perfect, a nice atmosphere, great service, excellent food. We had beef tartare, carpaccio and spaghetti vongole.. 10/10 points..

It's unbelievable that people are discussing this openly. What's even more unbelievable is that a bald waiter with a full beard and black glasses snatched my food and ate it: When one of the countless waiters (it feels like there are three times as many staff scurrying around as guests) asks if everything is okay, I answer "I've been waiting forever for my swordfish". Then the other said loudly: “Oh shit! I think....”. The two whisper longer. No excuse. Nothing. After a few minutes my food arrives. The other said “Oh dear”. The food is excellent. The location is inaccessible. The atmosphere is gigantic. The staff is a big problem. I once saw on TV that hotels and restaurants were switching to robots. Should be urgently considered here!

I had a fried trout with boiled potatoes, spinach and unfortunately a bad almond butter that was served past its expiration date. The latter made me vomit two hours later. It is unacceptable that the staff smoke behind the counter in such an upscale atmosphere and I reported this straight back.

We were at the lake house 24/25 on New Year's Eve. The service, the atmosphere, the food (fondue) were great. A wonderful start to the new year 2025!

Delicious food and good service. The fact that as a guest you also have to pay for parking in addition to the prices on the menu leaves question marks.

We celebrated our wedding here with almost 50 people in the banquet hall. Everything was very beautifully decorated, we also had the florist from Seehaus who made us really beautiful flowers. The service was friendly and courteous, everything was thought of and we were very satisfied. The food came on time and everyone enjoyed it very much. The next day I looked at the invoice and noticed some items that were not agreed upon. For your information, we had agreed on an aperitif menu with the banquet manager in advance. If anyone wanted something different, we had agreed that we would like to be informed in advance. We weren't, the service manager then claimed that my wife and I had approved the drinks, and he was then believed more than us. It wasn't about the money either, we just didn't want hard alcohol to be served in the early afternoon and still be served. There were 30 martinis on the bill, but they were then simply compared to beer because they are about the same price. The operations manager was really very unfriendly in the subsequent conversations and showed no insight whatsoever. It's a real shame, otherwise it was a really nice day. I can especially recommend the florist Ms. Obermeier and the master confectioner Mr. Hachmeister. Both of them really did a perfect job. My wife then sent a very detailed email with feedback, most of which was very positive and we thanked her again, but also expressed our criticism of what came from this unfortunately no more feedback. Conclusion: would I recommend the Seehaus as a location? Yes definitely. As a tip, I would really recommend putting everything in writing so that something like this doesn't happen here, as such a beautiful atmosphere is not often found in Munich.
