Beautiful place, food in the beer garden is average and expensive

10/10! Every time we come to Munich, we always eat sausages here and drink beer in the company of swans and geese! Very atmospheric😍

We were in the beer garden for the first time. Location is perfect and we also had great weather and sat right by the lake. We only had something small to eat and a few beers. We were very shocked by the prices charged for food and drinks. When two beers and a special cost €17, you start to think about it. Otherwise good and would go again.

The lake house in the English Garden is truly a special experience. The location right on the lake is simply fantastic. In the summer, sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the water is a dream. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. I was particularly impressed by the combination of Bavarian warmth and stylish ambience. The food was consistently excellent: fresh, creative and perfectly prepared. I had the zander fillet, which was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a fine white wine. For me, the Seehaus is one of the best addresses in Munich. I'll definitely be back!

I can only report on the restaurant, we didn't visit the beer garden next door. The location is very nice, really idyllic, especially when the weather is nice. Our waiter was very friendly, if a bit hectic, but overall very nice. The food is of good quality. However, the prices are ABSURD for what is offered. Please don't say you have to calculate like in the previous posts if you use beef carpaccio from the package (one of our group could clearly see that this is what is being used), make a mayonnaise from the bucket and 3 leaves of rocket on top and then sell it for 28€. This has nothing to do with calculation. You can definitely eat the same food in Munich, but for 1/3 of the price. We will no longer visit the lake house. As I said, the location is nice, the staff attentive, but the prices are close to outrageous.

Was there for a corporate event with a set menu but the standard was incredibly good, there were over 60 people in our party but the staff ensured we were well looked after. The restaurant is very picturesque and it's a great location.

You can visit the home of the BussiBussiSociety. But it doesn't have to. I'd rather stay outside in the beer garden. Great.

Beer garden right on the lake has something special. Unfortunately the prices are completely exaggerated - €6.10 for a wheat beer. If that doesn't bother you, this is the right place because the location is fantastic.

On Sundays at 1 p.m., they no longer serve roast pork here. Cheese spaetzle is also sold out. My alternative, meatballs with a roll, was at least good. Other beer gardens in Munich have a much wider selection of food.

After a civil ceremony in Munich, I was able to attend the wedding reception at the Seehaus yesterday – a location in Munich that immediately captivated me as a wedding photographer! The Seehaus is a good ten-minute walk from the registry office on Mandlstrasse – a relaxing stroll right along the lake. Perfect for those who appreciate short walks for their guests and a beautiful backdrop for the transition to the celebration. On the way to the venue, some beautiful bridal photos were spontaneously taken – relaxed and without much staging. The Seehaus's location right on the water is fantastic – for the champagne reception on the terrace, we had a wonderful backdrop of sunshine and a panoramic lake view. The food was also excellent. Special mention goes to Ivan from the service team, who was flexible and attentive. He quickly moved the reception outside when the rain stopped and, in addition to the wedding party, always kept an eye on me as the service provider. Thank you so much for the fantastic support! I'm already looking forward to the next wedding at the Seehaus in Munich – a real recommendation for couples looking for a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere.

We spent the afternoon at the Seehaus im Englischen Garten, and it was exactly what you'd expect from a good Munich beer garden: a relaxed atmosphere, sunshine, beer, and hearty food. The Radler Maßs flowed effortlessly, perfect for pairing with the generous and spicy Currywurst. All with a view of the small lake, which added a truly pleasant touch to the experience. The place is ideal for chilling with friends, with a friendly and typically Bavarian atmosphere. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy the nice weather with a good beer in hand, this is a sure bet!

I used to be aregular here and its still fun for drinking, but the food is all self service and poor quality. There is very little choice, other than the standard fare. Their website said they had more choices, but this was untrue. Also getting expensive.

It's a restaurant steeped in history. It has a beautiful location in the English garden and a view of the water. We were in a small group for dinner at the Seehaus. We had a reservation, which is recommended. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and there's plenty of space between the tables. We were shown to our table in a friendly manner. The service team was cheerful and competent. We were served promptly. The ordered dishes were taken and served within a reasonable time. Good beer, good wine, everything was excellent. Unfortunately, that's not the case with the food. We ordered beetroot tartare, house-cured "Graved Salmon," mixed salad, Seehaus shrimp pan, house-made veal patties, butter-basted halibut, grilled salmon steak. The ingredients in the dishes, especially the potato and cucumber salad, had a taste of something not produced on-site. This was also the case with the other side dishes. The side dishes were simply lacking in freshness. The quality didn't match the price. The waitress took note of this criticism and said she would pass it on to the kitchen. No one from the kitchen came, which is a shame. This could be improved. Overall, it was a lovely evening at the Seehaus.

The battery is almost empty and there is no socket in sight - but luckily there are power banks to borrow here. Really good move!

Menú was excellent. Portions had very good size and delicious flavor. Duck and Veal is what we ordered. Service was a bit slow at the beginning but improved. The view is relaxing and enjoyable.

The duck was very dry and the red cabbage was overcooked. A mouse ran through the dining room several times and the waitress insisted on a 10% tip when paying. Not so, dear Kuffler family. Maybe that's why the lake house is empty on Friday evenings. In any case, you have lost us as guests today.

Seehaus has been my favorite Munich beergarden for 30 years and on any sunny day it’s a sure winner! The service isn’t great - hey, it’s Germany, okay - but the beer is great, the food decent, and the people watching can’t be beat!

Beer garden: Nice place in terms of location. Overpriced for self-service: 1 beer 6.10 euros and 1 dry pretzel 2.50. The beer tables have acquired a patina over the years and are said to exude a certain antique charm. In my opinion it doesn't match the elegant look of the restaurant and the prices.

Perfect for socializing with a relaxing view

A very nice place, but when the weather is nice it's so busy that it's hard to find a place.

Mostly no service, you can wait more then 20 minutes to see how stuff is walking around , after you go to catch someone, and ask to come to you table. He came some minutes later to say that this hall is not on service anymore and you have to move to another hall. Couple of seconds later he turned to another table to take the order for drinks.. So we were not able to taste their kitchen. Wasting of my time was enough.

Everything was okay, but unfortunately nothing more. We had starters: Potato soup - was very tasty Pumpkin soup - was okay Main course: Spaghetti Vongole - was okay, but a little too lemony Salmon steak - too well done and the hollandaise sauce was not homemade Service was nice, but not attentive enough. Overall, we expected more for the price. Next time we'll be back in Freisinger Hof :)

I've eaten at the Seehaus several times on business and each time the service and food have been very good. The ambience is also very nice. Clear recommendation!

After so many days in Munich, every dish in this restaurant tastes very delicious. Today I ordered Bavarian roast pork, filet mignon Medium, and Norwegian salmon. All three dishes are highly recommended, and the service is also very attentive.

The sundowner is of course a dream. In contrast to the Chinese Tower, the beer garden can be opened here even in moderate weather.

Been there again after a very long time... everything was just perfect, a nice atmosphere, great service, excellent food. We had beef tartare, carpaccio and spaghetti vongole.. 10/10 points..

It's unbelievable that people are discussing this openly. What's even more unbelievable is that a bald waiter with a full beard and black glasses snatched my food and ate it: When one of the countless waiters (it feels like there are three times as many staff scurrying around as guests) asks if everything is okay, I answer "I've been waiting forever for my swordfish". Then the other said loudly: “Oh shit! I think....”. The two whisper longer. No excuse. Nothing. After a few minutes my food arrives. The other said “Oh dear”. The food is excellent. The location is inaccessible. The atmosphere is gigantic. The staff is a big problem. I once saw on TV that hotels and restaurants were switching to robots. Should be urgently considered here!

I had a fried trout with boiled potatoes, spinach and unfortunately a bad almond butter that was served past its expiration date. The latter made me vomit two hours later. It is unacceptable that the staff smoke behind the counter in such an upscale atmosphere and I reported this straight back.

We were at the lake house 24/25 on New Year's Eve. The service, the atmosphere, the food (fondue) were great. A wonderful start to the new year 2025!

Delicious food and good service. The fact that as a guest you also have to pay for parking in addition to the prices on the menu leaves question marks.

We celebrated our wedding here with almost 50 people in the banquet hall. Everything was very beautifully decorated, we also had the florist from Seehaus who made us really beautiful flowers. The service was friendly and courteous, everything was thought of and we were very satisfied. The food came on time and everyone enjoyed it very much. The next day I looked at the invoice and noticed some items that were not agreed upon. For your information, we had agreed on an aperitif menu with the banquet manager in advance. If anyone wanted something different, we had agreed that we would like to be informed in advance. We weren't, the service manager then claimed that my wife and I had approved the drinks, and he was then believed more than us. It wasn't about the money either, we just didn't want hard alcohol to be served in the early afternoon and still be served. There were 30 martinis on the bill, but they were then simply compared to beer because they are about the same price. The operations manager was really very unfriendly in the subsequent conversations and showed no insight whatsoever. It's a real shame, otherwise it was a really nice day. I can especially recommend the florist Ms. Obermeier and the master confectioner Mr. Hachmeister. Both of them really did a perfect job. My wife then sent a very detailed email with feedback, most of which was very positive and we thanked her again, but also expressed our criticism of what came from this unfortunately no more feedback. Conclusion: would I recommend the Seehaus as a location? Yes definitely. As a tip, I would really recommend putting everything in writing so that something like this doesn't happen here, as such a beautiful atmosphere is not often found in Munich.

The food is average and expensive. I don’t know if it’s not good for Chinese people. There are two of us dining. There are obviously many empty seats but the seating arrangement is small and crowded. Behind them is their closing table. There is only one person dining in the same seat next door. , the two diners arriving later can all be accommodated at a large table by the window with a view.

Great, incomparable ambience, restaurant divided into several rooms with good food quality. Only partially suitable for wine lovers with a small wine list and waiters without wine expertise.

The communication and planning in advance was very pleasant and problem-free, as was the process on site at our celebration. The location was wonderfully decorated according to our wishes and everything was well prepared. The quality of the food was perfect and every guest was thrilled, from the starter to the wedding cake. Also big praise to the pastry chef, the florist and the staff on site, who all supported us with great commitment. Thank you for this great experience and for allowing us to celebrate with you at the Seehaus.

Self-service beer garden directly on Kleinhesselohersee. In summer you can make yourself really comfortable in the beer garden. The prices are relatively expensive for a self-service beer garden, and the taste of the cheese spaetzle was also rather mediocre.

Well, paying €30 for two halves, an O'baztn and a stale, not very crispy pretzel is quite steep, but that's the way it is. But given the prices, I would at least like a crisp, crispy and fresh pretzel...

It's lovely to sit here in summer and winter. The food is also passable, BUT... the constant car noise from the ring is so penetrating that we unfortunately no longer come here because we primarily want to enjoy the PEACE and quiet in the English Garden. And unfortunately they don't exist here. Without the lake house being causally to blame.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful, the food was brought quickly and the waiters tried very hard. The bitter aftertaste came at the end when a waiter complained about what he thought was too little tip. It has never happened to us before that we were insulted in this form.

Old money vibe And oh, English Garden is so huge and beautiful, named as one of the largest urban parks in the world - bigger than NYC Central Park.

Service, underground. The ambience is of course very beautiful by the lake. The food is good, but the price-performance ratio is mediocre. The service was subpar, you can tell the stress of the service staff and it becomes e.g. B. rolled his eyes when asked to warm a baby's glass. That's not possible in this price range.

I would like to report on our very disappointing visit to the Seehaus today. We had reserved a table for 7 people and had already stated when making the reservation that one person needed gluten-free food. We were confirmed that this wouldn't be a problem at all and that you could get most things in gluten-free form. My son was really looking forward to duck with potato dumplings. When we pointed this out when ordering, we quickly realized that the waiter had no idea. He said the liver dumpling soup, without liver dumplings it would work... seriously... we then had roast pork, without dumplings... 2 other people had ordered and paid for duck breast, but there were 2 legs on the plate.. ....! The fish we ordered was dry and lay on an indefinable brown mush (probably chestnuts...?) Overall, we felt really ripped off and will definitely not come back and would advise everyone else not to do it! You can expect a lot more from a restaurant in this price range!

Always a great spot to visit when in Munich! The atmosphere is amazing, cant beat! The food and drinks are wonderful too! very thankful for the gluten free options! The potato with chive-cream cheese was excellent!

Self-service, food is great and the prices for this location full ok

Not particularly recommended! When we asked whether it would also be possible to eat outside, the response was unfriendly (especially since we received different answers from two waiters). It was also made clear that our decision to just order a drink first was unpleasant. We didn't ask whether we wanted to order anything else or whether everything would at least fit, etc. (especially since the restaurant was only a third full). After a long wait, our bill was printed out and thrown on the table (!), also without asking how we would like to pay or whether we would pay separately or together. In conclusion, one can only say that the prices are unjustified and the service is absolutely miserable and unfriendly. Never again!
