Very good food, great atmosphere

It's a pretty place. It's dapper and elegant. The charm is partially in the cleanliness and architecture. The food grade is higher than one might expect next to a duck pond. The people enjoying are in a state of happy celebration. A family treat.

Very nice atmosphere. Otherwise self-service and eating/drinking quite expensive. But you can endure it very well here, especially on warm days.

After numerous visits to the English Garden over the last few years, finally discovered... A cozy beer garden with a beautiful view of the water and park. A real, quiet alternative to the often overcrowded and therefore usually noisy beer garden at the Chinese Tower.

Sweet lake house right on the water in the English garden. The atmosphere is very nice. There are many eating and drinking options and you could also sit in the restaurant a la carte. The other section is self-service but goes pretty quickly.

A little more expensive (even in the 'standard' beer garden). But excellent food and beer. Great location - sit by the lake. Has also a more pricy option if you are rich 🤑 It is great watching the ducks on the lake in summer time. You can rent boats nearby..

Beautiful location, great ambience, unfortunately the stay was overshadowed by an incredibly bad knuckle. The knuckle was totally dry, as it had probably been in the warming container for several hours, unfortunately I cannot recommend it at all.

The beer garden next to the restaurant is beautifully located and very large. You can sit right by the water. It's self-service and there are plenty of dish stations too. The benches are quite close together so it's better to sit slightly offset.

Wonderful in summer to sit and enjoy a drink. The food, drink and service are just ok.

Paulaner Helles, fresh from the barrel - when the weather is nice in the English Garden, right by the lake. Plus a large pretzel and a radish... There is a small playground for the children or they can splash around in the lake with the ducks. For me, the Paulaner am Seehaus is probably the most beautiful beer garden in Munich. The prices are of course correspondingly high.

Here you are supposedly the first address. But that's not true. Good but not very good. The other beer gardens also have their qualities. Especially in the northern part of the English Garden

The ambience is more than great thanks to the view! Service average, not overly friendly, but not unfriendly either. But the food in the beer garden is the worst I've ever eaten in a beer garden. The Kaasspatzen were just sparrows without spices and without cheese, the Haxn was a small, dense cube without a crust. If you go there for the view or the restaurant, you're welcome, but you can't expect a treat in the beer garden. It's better to take your own food with you, it was prepared with more love, even if you have two left hands.

As far as Biergartens go, this is a model place.

Wide product range. However, we were only there for a few measures and a pretzel. Beautiful beer garden, right on the lake in the middle of the English Garden. Very idyllic! There is also a restaurant adjacent to the beer garden.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful beer garden... (I'm only writing about the beer garden here) And what's still nice is the location by the lake. Otherwise I was disappointed across the board: At 5:45 p.m. on a hot summer Saturday evening when all the restaurants were full, there was only leftovers here (a hard, dry end of rolled roast that had obviously been there for a long time, which was sold to me as roast pork, 2 long hairs in the currywurst with fries, a non-alcoholic beer that tasted like you could throw away (probably Paulaner), benches that are placed next to each other without any distance so that you can neither get to the table without contorting yourself, nor can you sit if someone is sitting behind you at the next table, topped by staff, that Although there is sufficient quantity, nothing is cleared from the table and in the beer garden there are mostly tourists. A bitter disappointment - especially if you want to show guests a beautiful beer garden. We haven't been there in a few years and won't be going again in the next few.

This is one of the most „touristy“ places in Munich, but still with lots of locals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (one of my favorite places for a quick „beer/pretzl with creamcheese dip called „Obatzda“) Best time to visit: shortly before sunset or early morning in combination with a little boat tour. (very romantic on the lake) Typical Bavarian food, nothing super special - therefore bring your own picknick, find a nice seat either under the shade under cozy trees or in the sun at the lake and order your beer at the self-Service and take it to the table of your choice. (those which don’t have table cloths on) You are always welcome to bring your own snacks, as long you order drinks on location. Don‘t be shy to ask locals wheather you can share a table with them. We love all tourists and are always open for a chat! 🩷🌈🌏 ‼️Attention: mosquito-alert! The lake is not very deep, offers brooding spaces for the larvaes and you might need some protection against these buggers. 😉 Not recommended for strict vegans. (bring your own food, you might end up hungry or disappointed otherwise, sorry)😞 Dogs welcome, like in almost all Bavarian beergardens.🐾❤️ Playground for kids 👍🏻 clean restrooms ✅ Wheelchair-accessible (but gravel) ♿️✅ EDIT: please differentiate between the Biergarten and the restaurant! I had been describing the beergarden! Restaurant is rather fancy/elegant - quite expensive and not so worthwhile mentioning in comparison to other restaurants- still nice, though! 😉

The food in the beer garden is not worth the money! The location on the lake is very nice though! So just beer

Just overheard an employee being rather arrogant towards a group of young people. That made me uncomfortable. The young people were nice, but probably didn't suit him. This is so old fashioned. Update to owner's response: No, it wasn't like that. I could understand every word. The two young men were very nice and asked if they could get a table for 5 people. The restaurant manager was very arrogant and arrogant and looked the young men up and down and "practically threw them out the door with condescending and hurtful words" because they probably didn't meet his standards. We were all young once, we shouldn't forget that.

Enjoy your meal. The ambience for Munich is very good in the English Garden.

They have Paulaner beer on tap and the spareribs I had were really delicious oh and the French fries were also very good. Staff was very friendly.

To the attention of the owner of Seegaus restaurant: put your seat belt on, you are in for a rocky ride: For the first time in my life, and i hope the last time , i will write a bad review and give minus 50 rating, even though all these years, i promised myself i will never write a negative review. Because of the attitude and incredible bad service of a waiter in particular . Hear this mr owner: check your cameras, you will not like what you gonna read and see on camera, we came at around 12.30 today. A group of 40 people, you already knew our order and needs.. there was 5 waiters in total, one of them is the most rude person i have ever seen in my life. He is tall, almost bald hair and look arabic, maybe turk origine. Sorry that i had to describe him, i want you to know who let you down today. All the others waiters/waitresses look more german than him. Firstly, he was not welcoming at all and did not smile the whole lunch. Our plates arrive, no plate for my colleague next to me for the bread, we didn’t say anything. A bit later on, we run out of water, we asked him for water, he comes back with half a open bottle he found i don’t know where. 10 mins later, my colleague dropped his knife on the floor and asked him, i will call him mr D (alias 🫏). He asked for a replacement for the knife, mr D replied: “take one from your friend (myself) next to you . I could not believe it. Lazy to get a clean one ? 10 Mins later, my dish arrived, it was a chicken dish. It was completely raw from inside, even a hungry pig would not be able to eat it. I called mr 🫏D and showed him, he replied in an agressive way that it was not raw and that is how it is made in this place!!🤣. I told him i was working for 20 years in hospitality business, i am able to recognize raw chicken!! He said : “mr chef, today we need one more chef, why don’t you come and work in our kitchen!! “ in very rude way. Let me tell you something mr D 🫏: if you were a nice human being, smily and educated/polite, i would have loved to go help the chef in the kitchen and without any doubt. I love cooking and even though i was wearing a suit, i would have done it!! So this so called farce of a waiter , takes my plate of raw/blue chicken and go back to his kitchen, turned the chicken around and mega heat it in the microwave(plate was boiling hot) and returned it back to me! At this point, as i am quite a sweet but also hot blooded person, i wanted to throw the chicken 🍗 to his sad face and make a big problem, luckily there was 2 ladies sitting near him, i didn’t want to scare them and order customers around or dirty their clothes! Our manager saw the scene and took him on the side. Told him that it is not a good way of service and that his hospitality is been terrible from start. Mr D 🫏came to me and tried to apologize, i refused his apology and told him to go far away, because at this point , i was still thinking to stick that raw chicken in his nose and then throw him in the lake so he can swim with the ducks! Finally, cherry on the cake, he brings the desserts pudding, without a spoon.😒 Mr owner: your place looks beautiful, where on earth did you find that guy?! Even a head hunter paid 1 million euros would not find a guy like this! He should be happy to serve people, make money. If mr D 🫏, hates his job, he must have the balls and the dignity to resign and fetch for a job elsewhere. You cannot employ people like him, uneducated, miserable and agressive. Spain just won the euro in Germany, Mr D, your waiter won also a trophy: the WWW trophy: worst waiter in the world 🌎. I suggest you stick a picture of a 🫏 on his cup and let him hold it in front of his colleagues!! I suggest this guy should release his frustration, consider buying him a s… doll or let him watch an erotic movie before every shift he will do in your restaurant: that could be the reason why he is so angry at himself, at the world and at his paying customers!! If mr D🫏 has a bit of self respect, he should leave the job and do not work in hospitality business: you are a disgrace !

Positive: great location by the lake, 3 euro parking fee up to 3.5 tons for 2 hours, friendly staff Negative: I think the prices were almost immoral and the Obatzde was a disgusting industrial product in my opinion. Overall, we probably won't come back.

Difficult. Great location, lake view, in the middle of the English garden. Quite attentive and professional service, unfortunately the expectations of the food remained far below the desired level. Simply too bland, not really tasteful, at this price level you would expect more in Munich. The beautiful view and the good service couldn't save it. It's a shame actually. Who knows, maybe we just had a bad day. We will come back and give it another try

Wonderful place, lovely atmosphere on the lake, fantastic food, friendly staff. One of my faves.

Unfortunately we weren't that enthusiastic. Roast pork with dumplings and cabbage 24.50. This is tight. Especially on a wet, bumped plastic tray that wasn't entirely clean. And the justification that the other restaurants are even more expensive doesn't help much. At some point the landmarks of Munich will simply become a tourist trap. But it's about food. The sauce was straight out of the bag and deep black. Someone couldn't read the mixing ratio. In any case, the sauce was bitter. The dumpling is small. And the crust is not crispy. I didn't think it was good and it wasn't exactly top-notch in terms of cuisine. The ambience is great without question. It would be great if the food and the staff were too.

There was vegan starter and main course, and only sorbet as dessert. Soy milk is available for hot drinks. Unfortunately, unannounced garlic was in the main course. Otherwise very nice.

We are a family with three children The aggressive security at the entrance barks at us in a commanding tone to open our bags. We forgo, the lake house was once known as a family meeting place, an oasis on the lake. Now it seems to be becoming an aggro area.

I've never paid so much for currywurst with fries and a stale Radler Halbe. I think the sausage and fries were made hours ago and kept warm for ages. You could have driven nails into the wall with the rock-hard fries. The prices are way too expensive and the quality is subpar. That doesn't make up for the great location on the lake. Too bad. Other beer gardens do this much better. But the employees were nice and everything was cleaned up diligently.

Food great, parking too and not overcrowded during the week

I only visited the self-service area and can therefore only report on that. The garden is really beautifully located by the lake in the English Garden. The prices are, as expected, very high. The snack portions were quite generous. All in all, a tourist hotspot where you can definitely take a break but you don't necessarily have to...

The food and beautiful setting on the lake were excellent. Had the most amazing trout for lunch. Highly recommend!

Good public viewing in the beautiful beer garden by the lake. I can't rate the restaurant because I haven't been there yet.

The location is very nice, the food is good and expensive. What bothered us on our last visit was the hectic and uncomfortable atmosphere: tables were constantly being pushed back and forth, the service was hectic, and we were no longer able to order dessert. I have the impression that the Seehaus is becoming an "event restaurant", no longer suitable for a nice, stylish meal in a small group.

At the public viewing, the beer garden at the back of the lake is completely empty, there are a few people at the front at the screen and security doesn't let anyone in and a long queue is artificially created. Before and during the game, people are constantly saying that more people will be allowed in. After halftime, after the beer garden has emptied even more, everyone is sent home and no one is allowed in. Truly by far the most unpleasant experience at public viewing this year

Worst public viewing organization in all of Munich. Everyone sits in each other's way, no one sees the screen, crowds of people suddenly stand in front of people who have been waiting for hours in their seats with a good view. Total disaster.

Incredibly expensive and the food tastes like it comes from a cheap canteen. With 2 dishes + drinks you can quickly reach 60€. The atmosphere is nice, but it's better to go somewhere else to eat or bring something with you.

Actually, you should be able to give 6 stars for the ambience here - it's so incredibly beautiful on the lake!!! Super nice staff throughout, even when there's a lot of crowds. The food is simply SENSATIONAL!!! And quickly too. Exclusive inside with higher (but justified!) prices, outside beer garden with the usual menu and prices. Simply beautiful, please keep it up!!!

Very, very expensive for a self service restaurant!

We sat at the “Bar am See”. The service there was attentive, quick and friendly. Prices are average. Had Campari Almalvi, wheat and a snack board. Everything delicious.

They wanted to come in for a snack after the football match (they were with the flag of Ukraine). From the main entrance, we were told that there are no seats, everything is reserved and in 10 minutes everything will be occupied. Approaching through another establishment from the other side, we saw that it was practically empty, asked the waiter in English if there was a table for 4 people. We were told that there are tables, but it will be very expensive for you (it is not clear where they got it from, we looked decent). People are judged by nationality. Well, thanks for the hospitality :)

Just cheeky, we just (9) nine people came here to have a drink. Because the women had headscarves and didn't fit the Bavarian appearance, we were offered seats (third class) at the back even though almost all of the front seats were free. That's impossible! No thanks and never again.

It just fits. Self-service open beer is definitely priced rather expensive, but everything is clean and tidy.

We are in Munich and it is June. Maybe it's not the best time for asparagus, but the soup and fresh asparagus went very well with a small schnitzel and Paulaner beer on the side. We liked it very much.
