"Das Seehaus Pforzheim", is a very nice restaurant located by a lake with beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding area. The dining rooms and beer garden are comfortably furnished and very clean. The food is excellent and of very good quality. A bit more expensive, but appropriate for the quality and freshness of the food. The service is competent, friendly, and attentive. Every request was me! This location is highly recommended. 👍

We were a group of nine at the Seehaus today and were completely satisfied. The food arrived quickly and at the same time for everyone, and it all tasted absolutely delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and also very child-friendly. We would gladly return to this cozy restaurant.

Today I made the mistake of asking for a vegan dish at a traditional restaurant. Not for molecular gastronomy. Not for tofu foam. Just for something edible without animal products. The reaction was remarkable: less service, more lecturing. The tone was somewhere between "How dare you?" and "Then go somewhere else." They could have simply said, "Sorry, we don't have that." Instead, I felt like I'd committed some kind of ideological provocation. In a country where you can serve schnitzel without breading, a vegan dish still seems to be considered an outrage. "Traditional" here apparently doesn't mean polite, but stubbornly backward. The food was fine for others at the table. The service to me: unpleasant. Conclusion: If you eat meat and don't ask questions, you'll probably feel comfortable here. If you politely ask for alternatives, be prepared for ideological resistance.

Unfortunately, a disappointment :;) It's 2025 and not a single vegan dish on the menu, and when we asked, we were met with a rude, "Sorry, we don't have anything for you"... Unbelievable! Our daughter wasn't offered anything to eat—the chef probably didn't have any olive oil or vegetables in the kitchen, or perhaps he hadn't heard how many people are vegetarian or vegan...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious and the price was perfectly reasonable. I had the onion roast beef, cooked to perfection yet wonderfully juicy, not at all dry. It was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was also beautiful, lovingly and festively decorated for Christmas, making you feel instantly at ease. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The service was incredibly friendly! We will definitely be back!

I was there for lunch. The food wasn't anything special. The taste could be better. I ordered duck leg with red cabbage and dumplings. The price was €25. The service was quick and friendly. The decor is very rustic, with lots of wood. You have to like that style. The Christmas decorations added a cozy touch.

Despite the positive reviews, I found the drink prices simply too high.

Solid Food, but Disappointing Service I recently visited Seehaus Pforzheim and, based on its beautiful location and good reviews, was hoping for a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't quite live up to my expectations. Ambiance & Location The Seehaus's location is truly beautiful – situated right on the lake, with an idyllic atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, and you feel comfortable there at first glance. I imagine it's particularly pleasant in the summer. Food – A Mixed Bag The menu offers a good selection of dishes, and the presentation of the food was appealing. Unfortunately, my venison goulash was disappointing – the meat was dry and not as tender as I had hoped. The side dishes were okay, but nothing special. Other dishes ordered at our table were acceptable, but also unremarkable. Service – Needs Improvement Unfortunately, the service was the biggest drawback of the evening. The servers seemed unmotivated and unfriendly. There were hardly any smiles, and inquiries were met with annoyance. It's a shame, because attentive and warm service often makes the difference between a good and a mediocre restaurant experience. Conclusion The Seehaus Pforzheim has a great location and offers solid food, but the dry venison goulash and the unfriendly service spoiled the evening. Perhaps the team was simply having an off day, but overall, it didn't impress me. If the service improves, the restaurant could truly be a highlight.

At the end of a hike, we spontaneously decided to stop for a bite to eat, as the cheapest daily special is offered until 3 p.m. As a complimentary starter, we received herbed quark with radishes and two kinds of bread. I really enjoyed this: delicious, healthy, and refreshingly different. The daily special also exceeded our expectations; it was not only attractively presented and tasted wonderful, but it also came with a little extra sauce and a surprising garnish. We recognized our friendly waiter from a previous visit. When staff stay on, it speaks volumes about the establishment, especially considering that the drive home late at night after work in winter can't always be comfortable. Incidentally, we were far from the only ones who felt at home here on a weekday afternoon.

Best roast beef with onions within a 100 km radius (personal experience 😀) Also available on the lunch menu.

A good restaurant with a lovely beer garden, and the location by the lake for a short walk is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, it's showing its age a bit.

Cozy, lovely restaurant. We were there for lunch. The food arrived quickly. Service was very friendly and attentive. Portion sizes were absolutely sufficient. A bit on the expensive side, but they also offer venison and beef dishes, which are worth their price. Cakes are also available on-site.

The Seehaus Pforzheim is simply gorgeous! Its location right on the water creates a wonderful atmosphere—ideal for relaxing or enjoying a special meal. The food is always fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious. The service is attentive and friendly, and you feel completely welcome. Especially in summer, sitting on the terrace is a real highlight. Rating refers to the beer garden: No matter when we come and at what time, the potato salad offered at the tables has unfortunately run out. Guys, then wipe the offer off the board, it can't be that difficult.

The food was very good, with a balanced flavor and generous portion sizes. The staff was courteous and attentive. The ambiance could be a bit more modern, but it's cozy. Children are welcome, and it's easy to chat at the table; the noise level is low. The tables are decorated according to the season, not too subtle. Now in autumn, a candle is lit right away, which is cozy and invites you to linger. A cozy restaurant; we'd love to come back!

We visited the Seehaus twice in the last few days. Once on an e-bike tour in the self-service outdoor restaurant, and once inside with family. Both times were wonderful. The service was very friendly, and the food was beautifully presented and delicious.

As we often do, we concluded our husky hike in Hagenschiess with a get-together in the beer garden. Everyone, both humans and dogs in our family, was happy there. Today we opted for lunch: Maultaschen (ravioli) with onion juice and potato/carrot/coleslaw. The best Maultaschen we've ever eaten! The rest was also good, and at a very reasonable price. Add to that the friendly staff—nothing to complain about! And the rain today isn't your fault!

A real day trip highlight: The Seehaus is close to Pforzheim yet surrounded by nature – right on a small lake, with plenty of space to sit and relax. It's ideal for hikers, cyclists, and families with children thanks to a playground and spacious bicycle parking. The food is deliberately simple to accommodate a large number of guests quickly. Don't expect culinary refinement, but you'll find classic beer garden fare like fries, sausage, salad plates, potato salad, tarte flambée... and a changing daily special – solid, tasty, and something for everyone. We found the Maultaschen (swabian pasta) to be exceptionally good ;) It's great that places like this still exist: uncomplicated, friendly, self-service without stress – perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside.

We visited this location during a hike. They offer both a restaurant and a snack bar. We opted for the latter. The food was delicious, and the service was just what you'd expect from a good snack bar. Located in a green area, with a large children's playground... but also well-connected with plenty of parking. I would definitely go there again!

With such an unfriendly waiter, both on the phone and in person, you don't really want to be a guest.

I haven't eaten there yet because I have celiac disease and am lactose intolerant, but the food looked really good.

The food was nicely presented but unfortunately not very well prepared. The pan-fried gyro had probably been seared and then reheated briefly, meaning it was dry. The fries could have been thicker so they wouldn't get bony so quickly. The potato wedges with herb dip were good. The beer garden is beautifully situated with great, large, shady trees. Whether we'll come back is questionable. But we'll definitely stop by for a drink.

We were in the self-service area of the beer garden. The classic water was barely carbonated, our tarte flambée took 25 minutes to cook and was still raw inside. The service was quite unfriendly. We won't be back.

In the summer, the beer garden is a great place to sit, right by the lake. The restaurant, on the other hand, is much more expensive.

Yesterday, I was in the beer garden with seven people, which is completely self-service. I ordered the sausage salad with a roll. It wasn't entirely clear whether you had to wait for your food at the counter or get a pager, as the staff member in charge didn't communicate. I decided to wait and finally received my order. The colleague at the drinks counter was friendly and competent. The cashier was the usual moderately friendly. We sat right next to the beautiful lake, which is the highlight. The portion size was very small, so we weren't sufficiently full. It was also noticeable that the preparation of the food with the pager took a relatively long time. The ambiance was great, but the food was rather below average.

Employees (m/f/d) have some communication difficulties when it comes to German. It's not a big deal. However, you should be patient if you're not understood the first or third time. Example: you order a wheat beer, but you get a Coke 🙃

We were in the beer garden today in glorious sunshine, and the ambiance will definitely make us want to return. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food. Despite the lack of customers, or perhaps because of that, it took forever at the bar to even acknowledge us and serve us. The food simply wasn't good value for money... spaghetti was overcooked, the white sausages had some dry spots, and overall, for the price, everything was a bit too much like a snack bar and not enough of a traditional beer garden. It's a shame... because we've always been very satisfied with the restaurant.

Very good food and a higher price range. The beef carpaccio on the appetizer menu is particularly recommended. The prices are reasonable for the first-class quality. The staff is also very friendly and extremely attentive. However, the price for an espresso is quite high at €3.40.

I was at the Seehaus for the first time yesterday, and I have to say, for the price, I expected better quality. My wife and I had roast beef with spaetzle. The roast beef wasn't that special, and there wasn't enough sauce. The spaetzle weren't the best either. We've been to restaurants where the food was better, and they checked more often to see if you had enough to drink.

Always happy to go to the Seehaus beer garden. In my opinion, it's the nicest in Pforzheim. Unfortunately, the staff serving food are unmotivated and unfriendly. They'd rather fiddle with their phones than take a customer's order. And this has been the case for quite some time. Unfortunately.

Nice but so small, 300m walking place only. Doesn't deserve to travel to. Maybe if you are near to it you can stay for 1 hour bedside the lake. The view is nice but still smaller than expected.

This evening we were in the beer garden. I had ordered a rump steak. I would not have expected that such top quality would be available in a beer garden. It was perfectly cooked, medium rare, top job by the chef. Best rump steak I have ever eaten, thank you very much for that😊

Whether in the restaurant or the beer garden, the food is simply excellent. The staff in the beer garden, in particular, are very attentive; they recognize you and know how you like your roast beef. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and equally attentive. Highly recommended.

Today at lunchtime we were with a group in the beer garden, we went to order food, the two friendly young men served us very nicely, very nice staff, we had two rump steaks which were amazing, perfectly medium as ordered, as well as the other food that my colleagues had which was very tasty and nicely presented

I was pleasantly surprised: The dish of the day – Allgäu onion roast – for €18.90 was of a quality you wouldn't necessarily expect for this price. The "medium" degree of doneness was perfect – a substantial, approximately 3 cm thick piece, presumably rump steak, excellently prepared. A nice detail up front: Fresh bread with herb quark and crisp radishes was served in one piece – not a given and very appealing. The side salad was also significantly higher quality than usual: various fresh salads, already carefully dressed with a harmonious dressing and garnished with crispy croutons. The food arrived quickly – which isn't so important to me personally, but is definitely a plus, especially at lunchtime when I'm heading back to the office. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and professional – unobtrusive, but present. Conclusion: A consistently harmonious experience at a high culinary level – definitely more than "just" lunch. I'd be happy to come back.

You can sit outside comfortably, there are enough parasols.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food in the beer garden today. I ordered a large salad for €10.90. I got an XXL lettuce leaf, a potato salad from a bucket, and a coleslaw from a bucket. The dollop of radish salad and the carrot salad, on the other hand, were delicious. I can't say whether the dressing, which came from a bottle, was homemade, but I've had better tasting ones. The atmosphere, as always, was nice to cycle there; the service staff weren't particularly friendly, but it was okay. Of course, I can make a salad just as well at home, but in my opinion, a salad isn't rocket science for a restaurateur. It's a shame the salad is so expensive for what it is.

Beautiful terrace and very good food

Since I only visited the beer garden, I can't comment on the service. The view of the lake is really beautiful, and you can sit comfortably, with a beer garden feel. There was no alternative milk for the coffee, and when I asked, I was looked at a bit like I was from another planet. The cake was delicious, and the dog was allowed to join in, too.

Not for dog owners! No opportunity to take your four-legged friends to the water. The lake is very small, nicely designed, but you can't walk all the way around it. The self-service restaurant was okay. Surely no one would have minded if there had been a small dog area without having to walk across the "bathing lawn." What a shame...

Elegant restaurant with a large terrace and beer garden. Very good food. Whether you should charge €7 for a bottle of local mineral water, however, remains questionable.

Nice restaurant and good, nice, friendly staff, although I've been served differently there before, which has disappointed me. But I like eating there and always reserve a table because otherwise there might not be one available. The prices are in line with the quality.

A great place on the summer terrace to drink beer and eat potatoes and sausage. We stop there all the time when we ride our bikes. Beer costs 4-5 euros. A portion of potatoes and sausage costs 9 euros. Very calm and atmospheric. There is also a restaurant, it is also highly praised. There is a playground for little ones.

The restaurant has excellent food and excellent service. Great atmosphere. Everything is delicious. The aroma can be smelled from afar. Great service for parties. Unfortunately, the food wasn't to our taste. The dumplings were completely raw, hard, and over-seasoned. The red cabbage was extremely sour. The roast veal was very tender, which was the only good thing. The venison stew, on the other hand, was practically inedible. It was a stringy cut and dry. The sauce, unfortunately, had an unpleasant flavor. We didn't think the price/performance ratio was good. This was our second time at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it wasn't good the second time. The last time, with schnitzel and spaetzle, was better, but again, the price/performance ratio wasn't good. Service was excellent. Everything was clean and very well-maintained. For a restaurant in this price range, however, I expect a different kind of cuisine. Yes, I'd be happy to sit in the beer garden—nothing else. For customizing the dishes, you would have had to pay an extra fee (a side salad instead of red cabbage).
