Seebacher Wirt in Deggendorf

Nice. We were there on Sunday at 11:30 because Google said it was open – and found the door closed.

Things started out strangely when I tried to book a table: I politely introduced myself and was told, "Don't know us," and then the call was immediately disconnected. I called again anyway and immediately indicated I wanted to book a table. "Oh, my apologies..." We ordered a shrimp appetizer and a prawn appetizer. The prawns weren't peeled. Well, I received my appetizer with two peeled prawns. So, they were peeled after all?!? No big deal, but my table companion received her appetizer with a few shrimp and several prawns. One of which was unpeeled :-). We got the impression that they were just winging it in the kitchen and didn't know the difference between a shrimp and a prawn. Then the appetizer: we both ordered steak, but we weren't asked how it should be served. The plates weren't warm, so it cooled down quite quickly. My table companion didn't finish her steak; it was too dry. Furthermore, I had read some reviews beforehand, and it was often mentioned that the food was too salty. That's true, I can confirm; the food, and especially the sauce, was very salty. In short, the dinner was a bit disappointing. The dessert was good, though.

We often go there for breakfast. Amazing!!! Great value for money.

We were here for a small breakfast, which was very good. The scrambled eggs with ham were perfect, not overcooked, and the grapes were seeded, not seedless. I really enjoyed it. We'd love to come back! :-)
