Bistro Vis-a-Vis in Deggendorf

Tested breakfast only. There are not many dishes on the breakfast menu, but it is a good selection. Most people will enjoy a good breakfast here.

The restaurant is visually very beautiful and inviting. The menu also reads quite well. Unfortunately, the food on the table is a disappointment, as are the drinks we ordered. In total we waited around 15 minutes until we were asked for drinks (it wasn't busy anymore) and then another 10 minutes until we could order the food. Regarding the drinks: A Cosmopolitan, which was far too sour and quite little for the price, and the refreshing "mint water", which was still water with a measly sprig of mint for a whopping 4.40 euros. I had to run to the bar to get the lemon and lime that was in the drink description. About the food: My husband wanted to order the New Year's Special (3-course menu including sparkling wine). It was said that it was no longer available as a menu, but you could order all the dishes separately. And you can't correct or reprint the page in the map instead of confusing the guest? This was one of four situations in this store where we didn't get what was on the menu. More about it here: The starters (soup & salmon carpaccio) were not very seasoned, there was no salt and the carpaccio had no acid. My husband had char with risotto as the main course, which he said tasted "OK". I chose tapas as the photos looked promising. Here too, everything was bland (falafel balls), the spare ribs with a lot of fat on the edges, breaded Manchego and bacon-wrapped dates were ok, but I've eaten much better. But dish number 23 really took the cake. I ordered the fried “Chipirones con Aioli piccante”. I got breaded anchovies. The waitress' excuse was that both dishes had the same number and that this happened often. And you can't change that so that food isn't wasted every time?!? Sorry, but that simply defies any logic. I then immediately got the fried calamari, which unfortunately was completely dripping in (old) fat. You could have let it drain on a paper towel first. I then asked the waitress if I could get spicy aioli with it, since it says "con aioli piccante" on the menu, which implies that it is served WITH aioli. Her “explanation” was no, the translation below in German would only say fried calamari. Huh?! When I then said that the Spanish addition "con Aioli piccante" should perhaps be removed from the menu, as it raises false expectations, she reacted visibly annoyed and mushy and then brought me a regular aioli, which, however, had hardly any garlic taste and more like Miracle Whip from the glass tasted good. In summary, one can say that the ambition is greater than the reality that is offered. The service was inattentive (dishes were left at some tables for easily 30 minutes) and annoyed. If you have to point out errors four times, that's not a good sign. It's a shame, because the shop is very nice to sit in and has a pleasant atmosphere. You should leave the tapas alone, focus on the rest of the menu in the kitchen, don't walk past the spice rack, but instead grab it and hire more motivated, less overwhelmed and more attentive staff, and not all the other service staff, except for one Send home at 8:30 p.m. A shop like this should generally employ a permanent counter staff so that the only remaining waitress doesn't have to do the bar work in addition to the regular service. Just a shame! There is no relationship between price and performance here.

The food was really good and reasonably priced. The store is very chic and modern and offers a pleasant, homely atmosphere. The service and friendliness were top and unfortunately you rarely find it in this form today.

Great service and a modern, playful atmosphere. The food was good and there is a large selection of tapas as well as many individual dishes. In general, the taste of the individual tapas was good, but not exceptional.

Today I met up with friends for breakfast. Because I messed something up, I was there at 8:15. Opening hours from 9 a.m. Nevertheless, I was allowed to sit down and was given a free cappuccino while I waited, even though it was my mistake. The service was super friendly and the breakfast was really tasty. Everything excellent!

The restaurant is under video surveillance and it is NOT advertised that the restaurant is under video surveillance. The restaurant doesn't have to deny it because I have a witness who also saw that there was a video camera between the liquor bottles. It must be signposted at the entrance that it is under video surveillance, otherwise everyone is committing a criminal offense (§ 201a) Everyone should still be able to decide freely whether they want to enter a restaurant that is monitored by video or not. It's not possible to do it secretly

Starter, wine, homemade lemonade, steaks, service, ambience, price/performance… a real pleasure across the board!! Absolutely great place ❤️❤️ keep it up!!

Very friendly service & delicious food

Price-performance ratio is not right here. I cannot recommend the restaurant. My companion ordered a steak medium rare and received an English (blue) fried one. My dish, the tournedor of beef fillet, was not to my taste. The components were not balanced. It was just too powerful. The beef tartare was okay. The price is not justified for this quality. Unfortunately, the service staff weren't very attentive either and so we couldn't complain about the meat, for example, and we didn't have anything to drink for a long time. With other guests, however, they sometimes stood and talked for a long time.

Disastrous experience - not recommended! Our experience with Matthias' Catering - Vis a Vis in Deggendorf, which is a must for weddings at Schloss Egg, was simply a disaster. Nothing was right from the start. Agreements were not kept, communication was a complete disgrace, appointments were not kept and the staff consistently seemed disinterested and unprofessional. During the entire event we had to take care of things ourselves that had been discussed several times in advance and firmly agreed to. The highlight, however, was the completely unacceptable situation in the kitchen: Guests repeatedly observed employees who preferred to smoke or play on their cell phones instead of taking care of the guests. There were also serious problems in the kitchen, which were obviously responsible for the long delays - an absolute no-go for us as a bride and groom! The behavior of the owner Matthias topped it all off. After he promised us compensation of €2,000 during a personal conversation, he suddenly didn't want to hear anything about it anymore. The agreement was later dismissed as banal and we heard nothing more from him despite asking for feedback to clarify how to proceed. Such behavior is unacceptable in the service industry and clearly shows that customer satisfaction is not the priority here. The quality of the catering was also far below what you would expect for this price. The filter coffee was undrinkable, the drink services were poorly organized, and many guests felt ripped off because they weren't sure what they could order without paying themselves. There was a lack of transparency and the staff was extremely unfriendly when asked. For the enormous amount we paid, the standard offered was simply an outrage. It almost borders on rip-off what was offered here. We feel betrayed and absolutely disappointed. An event as important as a wedding should never be overshadowed by such poor service. Our recommendation: stay away from this catering!”

A very stylish restaurant in my opinion. The food was very good and the service was top. We have often been asked if everything is OK. The outside area is as a terrace elevated directly on the street. If you don't like that sort of thing, you might be in the wrong place. But during three nights in Deggendorf we ate there twice.

Very tasty tappas and the rest of the menu is also impressive. Recommendation is the salmon! It's a shame that you always have to make a reservation. But actually speaks for the local. Otherwise sometimes not completely cleaned up (crumbs or leftover sauce at the table). But it is always cleaned after notice.

Very nice and well-attended restaurant. The waitresses are friendly and nice. The service is good. The food is highly recommended and the price is slightly upscale but fair. Food and drinks arrive in a reasonable time. It's worth reserving a spot, especially if you want to sit outside. Access is almost barrier-free. There is a curb-high edge to overcome, but everything inside, including the path to the very clean toilets, is at ground level.

We had an appointment there in the evening with a group of friends. It wasn't actually that hot that day, but the restaurant still heated up incredibly. The fans on the ceiling didn't help. Unfortunately, this restaurant does not have air conditioning. So that we sat in our own sweat. As the evening got later, we wanted to continue ordering drinks, but the service staff seemed to be tired of it. Orders were only taken if you went directly to the bar. The service ladies chatted happily with each other there. There was no response to our requests to bring us new drinks regularly. All in all, the food (salad, tartare, steak, goat cheese) was really ok, although the vitello could use more sauce. However, we would avoid this place on warm and hot days because the heat is simply unbearable. The service staff should be trained!

2024 birthday dinner with antipasti, tapas & Co 2024 breakfast menu is small but ok 2023 Vis-a-Vis always good. This time it was breakfast, after a year off from Vis-a-Vis it had to be. Breakfast this time for 2 was worth it. Do it again. 2020 The menu has developed, it's just a shame that the tapas are only served in the evening. From 4* to 5* because it's simply getting better and deserves it, although some of the service still needs training. The only criticism today is that the coffee used to be much better, Illy, as far as I remember. The CHAQWA kladeradatsch doesn't work at all. Ah, and the “Wuerschtl” in the risotto doesn’t really do the taste any good. 2019 We know this place for some 20+ years now and while it has changed management from time to time it was always quite ok. This time we went for breakfast. Service was good. Food portions were just about ok, although the plater for two is more like for 1.5. Presentation is almost overdone(platers and bowls), but then who will complain. Price is difficult to judge as we didn't pay. Orange juice is sub-standard. Tastes like HighC without pulp, nothing fresh about it. Coffee was ok. What's quite convenient, there is parking right opposite with free spaces most of the time.

Good place and accomodation. Order espresso, but like in other german bars, espresso is not special.

My daughter and I actually wanted to go to the burger joint, which was closed, but there was a notice on the notice about "Vis a vis", which we then followed. ...Without regrets!! ;-) Great ambience, super friendly and attentive service (without being pushy), the burgers, sweet potato fries and the dessert were excellent and very attractively prepared, drinks were also very tasty! Definitely worth a visit!

The burger is absolutely not recommended, it is big but doesn't taste good. Poor quality meat. It tastes at least the same as in a snack bar, or even worse. The price is way too expensive for that!

If you want to eat a perfect steak, this is the right place 🥩 Excellent service, very tasty side dishes and dips, we'll be back 👌🏻

Had breakfast on a Tuesday morning. The young brunette waitress greeted us with a huge smile and it turned out that she was just doing a great job. A courteous, attentive, not overly intrusive, warm service. Unfortunately, this is not the case everywhere. You can also have fun with someone. Big praise to you. She also told us that she always works the morning shift. In case the waitress reads the review, we talked about the beautiful plates at Vis a Vis.

We reserved a table for breakfast at 9:00. We ordered breakfast for two for €15.90 per person. Drinks extra. So two more cups of coffee for €4.50 each. After an annoying 45 minutes there was still no breakfast on the table. However, the landlord was so fair and didn't charge for the coffee when we left after 50 minutes without breakfast...

The food was very tasty and the service was simply top🤩. We'd love to come back. We had beef fillet with goat cheese, meat was tender. The very best😄

The menu's got something for everyone: pasta, burgers, steaks, tapas and salads. Went with the tapas and was not disappointed.

Everything was great from the friendly service to the food. Everything went great. I deducted a star for the ambience because we made a reservation two months ago and only got a not-so-good table. But the nice cellar lady took care of our concerns immediately and easily. Talking to each other in a friendly way always helps. It was a very nice evening with you, thank you!

Hatte ein Lachsfillet was ganz gut war und die Minz lemonade sehr gut. Personal sehr freundlich. Vielleicht noch 2 oder 3 mal öfter zum Tisch kommen und fragen ob man noch was zu essen haben wolle. Wartezeit aufs Essen auch völlig akzeptabel. Ambiente modern und sehr schön. Preise vielleicht bisschen hoch. Das Lachsfillet 22€ und war wirklich nicht viel auf dem Teller drauf. Ansonsten sehr gutes Resturant

Waren heute zu meinem Geburtstag dort essen. Waren sehr positiv überrascht, das Ambiente modern und ansprechend, der Service sehr freundlich, wenn auch manchmal bisschen vergesslich ;-) und das Essen war sehr lecker! Meine Frau hatte Thunfischsteak, auf den Punkt und ich ein grandioses Steak nur mit Knoblauchbrot. Hatte noch Soße dazu bestellt, aber die kann man sich bei der Qualität des Fleisches sparen :-) wir kommen ganz sicher wieder. 👍

Ein wunderbarer Ort für ein schönes Sonntagsfrühstück....absolut netter Service und schönes Ambiente....gute Parkmöglichkeiten und vor allem leckeres Essen...gerne wieder!

Wir waren dort vor einem Monat essen, leider schmeckte das Spiegelei primär einfach nur nach Fett. Nach der Reklamation erhielten wir ein neues Ei, was „besser“ schmeckte, aber trotzdem einfach nur Durchschnitt war. Auch das restliche Essen war leider nur Durchschnitt. Die Bedienung am Tisch war freundlich und hatte Verständnis, das restliche Personal schien richtig angefressen wegen unserer Kritik und zeigte großes Unverständnis: Unprofessionell. Wir können diese Location nicht weiterempfehlen.

Haben uns das Lokal zum Geburstag ausgesucht und sind rund um mit allem total zufrieden! Von Vorspeise bis zum Dessert hat jeder Gang sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service, den Tisch sogar einzudecken und bei Überraschungen mit zu gestalten ist überwältigend gewesen. Das Ambiente in dem Lokal ist sehr schön! Das Gesamtpaket hat also 5/5 Sterne !

Das vorbezeichnete Café ist in der Lateinschulgasse 15, in 94464 Deggendorf zu finden. Es ein Ort der Begegnung und der sozialen Kontakte. Hier kann man auch ausgiebig frühstücken. Darüber hinaus ist ein guter Kaffee und leckerer Kuchen auch zu empfehlen. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr wertvoll. Die Atmosphäre ist dort sehr angenehm Insofern kann einen Besuch nichts mehr im Wege stehen stehen.

Wir hatten das Vis-a-vis bzw. das Catering Unternehmen davon (AM-Catering) auf unserer Schloss Egg Hochzeit und was sollen wir sagen? es war rundum ALLES perfekt! ☺️ Der Service war spitze, das Essen absolut genial und toll angerichte und das ganze Personal war auch einfach so lieb und hilfsbereit. Sowohl wir als auch unsere Gäste waren sehr sehr zufrieden. ☺️ Wir würden zu 10000% wieder so heiraten.

Ein wirklich schöner Ort, um sich wohlzufühlen. In letzter Zeit bin ich öfter im Vis a Vis essen gegangen. Die Leute dort sind immer super freundlich und strahlen, selbst wenn es hektisch ist und viele Gäste da sind. Das Essen war bisher jedes Mal richtig gut, egal zu welcher Tages- oder Wochenzeit. Die Atmosphäre ist wirklich angenehm, und die Einrichtung ist ansprechend. Zusammenfassend: leckeres Essen, tolles Ambiente und ein super Service. Definitiv ein Ort, den man in Deggendorf kennen sollte und besuchen sollte.

Style, perfekter Service und tolles Essen. Das ist es, was ich von einem gehobeneren Restaurant erwarte und das ist es auch, was ich hier im vis-a-vis bekomme. Ich empfehle, besonders die Steaks und den César Salad. Das ganze am besten abends mit ein paar Cocktails garnieren. Wirklich toll.

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker 😋 😋 tolle Steaks!! Cocktails in großer Auswahl und der Barkeeper erfüllt einem Sonderwünsche. Preise angemessen da Qualität immer top ist. Sehr schönes Ambiente und ganz besonders möchte ich das Personal erwähnen super freundlich und kompetent aufmerksam man fühlt sich rundum versorgt. Ein echtes Highlight in Deggendorf!!!!

Die Vorspeisen (Tapas) waren gut, die Hauptgänge waren sehr gut. Der Rotwein war leider zu warm, haben aber auf Nachfrage sofort einen neuen temperierten bekommen.

Update: waren jetzt wieder dort und welch Überraschung: Nasti, die uns schon Super freundlich im Plan B Burger bedient hat arbeitet hier auch und hat uns wiedererkannt. Richtig kompetente Mitarbeiterin so wie es sein soll. Haben wieder Steaks und Nudeln mit Trüffel (könnten ein klein wenig mehr Soße vertragen aber kein Grund Sterne abzuziehen) gegessen. War alles super.

Wir hatten einen schönen Nachmittag in diesem Restaurant und möchten unsere Erfahrung gerne teilen. Das Personal verdient ein besonderes Lob. Sie waren äußerst bemüht, uns als Gäste bestmöglich zu betreuen. Ihre herzliche und aufmerksame Art hat uns sofort willkommen und wohl fühlen lassen. Das Essen war nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch blitzschnell serviert, was besonders beeindruckend war. Die Portionen waren angemessen und die Speisen waren fürs Auge schön aufbereitet. Besonders erfreulich war die moderaten Preise, die das Restaurant für seine erstklassige Qualität bot. Es ist selten, ein solch gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis zu finden. Das Vis a Vis ist definitiv ein Ort, den wir gerne wieder besuchen möchten. Wir empfehlen es jedem, der auf der Suche nach einem positiven Restauranterlebnis ist, in dem das Personal sein Bestes gibt, das Essen köstlich ist, die Portionen ausreichend und die Preise angemessen sind. Das Vis a Vis ist eine Top Adresse wenn man entspannt und lecker Essen möchte. Die Tapas sind der Wahnsinn, aber auch die anderen Gerichte sind super. Dazu ein freundliches und top organisiertes Personal. Was ich besonders hervorheben möchte ist die Kinder-Freundlichkeit. Überhaupt kein Problem wenn man mit Kinderwagen kommt oder auch mit mehreren Kindern. Immer wenn wir in Deggendorf sind ist das unsere erste Adresse!

Tolles modernes Ambiente und vor allem geeignet bei Zöliakie. Das Personal kennt sich sehr gut aus. Auch glutenfreies Frühstück möglich. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Der beste Grieche von Deggendorf

War hier schon sehr oft und es ist jedes Mal aufs neue ein Erlebnis. Service ist super. Kann hier nur die Tappas Gerichte empfehlen. Geschmacklich erste Klasse. Ambiente ist auch top. Ob Wintergarten oder auf der Terrasse. Eins meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants in Deutschland.

Waren letztes Wochenende hier. Hatte als Vorspeise einen Beilagensalat und Tapas (Scampie mit Mango Chutney) Beilagensalat ca. 5€ und Scampie Vorspeise waren genau 4 Scampie für 5,20€ finde ich fast zu teuer. Als Hauptspeise hatte ich eine Parella war gut aber mit auch knapp 15€ schon gehobener. Alles im allem ist es vom Preis schon gehobener vll. auch a leicht zu teuer aber Geschmacklich war es gut 4/5 - Geschmack. Und man bekommt Gerichte angeboten die man sonst so oft nirgends findet. Zu Zweit zahlten wir 70€.

Sehr schickes Restaurant das seinen Ruf auf keine Fall vorauseilt! Frühstück ist alles sehr lecker und man hat genügend Auswahl, für jeden etwas dabei. Die Semmeln wirken leider geschrumpft, waren vor ein paar Jahren mal größer. Zum Abendessen auch toll mit guter Auswahl. Service war bisher immer super! Ich würde eine Reservierung empfehlen!

So ihr lieben Leute, heute ging es Mal nach Deggendorf ins Vis a Vis. Ein sehr schickes Restaurant mit gutem Service. Ihr müsst aber sehr viel Glück haben um einen Platz Abends zu ergattern. Was doch einiges über die Qualität der Küche aussagt. Vorher zu reservieren ist zu empfehlen, nicht das ihr bös auf die Nase fällt. Bei der Speisekarte fällt die große Auswahl auf. Wir hatten den Fitnesssalat und der schmeckte genauso genial wie er auf dem Foto aussieht👌😃

Man wird immer gefragt, ob noch etwas gewünscht ist, jedoch ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das ist sehr gut. Auch die Toiletten sind sehr sauber. Was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat war der Burger. Das Pattie sah schon sehr stark nach Tiefkühlkost aus. Geschmackliche war der Burger zwar ok, aber bei den Preisen sollte man schon etwas anderes erwarten dürfen! Die Tapas hingegen waren gut. Preislich liegt man im oberen Segment, und das sollte mann dann auch am Essen merken. Das ist aber nicht immer der Fall. Alles in allem gibt's von meiner Seite 4 Sterne, Abzüge gibt's zum einen wegen dem Burger, was mich schon geärgert hat, und dem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Hier hat man noch Verbesserungspotential.

Zum ersten mal im Vis a Vis, aber ganz sicher nicht das letzte mal. Sehr ansprechendes Ambiente, vielfältige Speisekarte, sehr angenehmes Personal. Und das Essen? Hammer!!!

Hungrig darf man dort nicht Essen gehen. Winzige Portionen aber hohe Preise . Ambiente ist gut. War mit 2 Kolleginnen dort die haben das gleiche gesagt.

Pésimo servicio en la atención al cliente, no sé si porque no llegue con reservación, tardaron en atendernos más de 50 minutos.

Echt ein super Ort zum Frühstücken. Alles im allen immer ein Ausflug werd.
