The food was delicious. The service was super friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

I discovered this restaurant via Google Maps. There I met J. from Kiel, a student intern who works here part-time. She does it with such heart and good humor that you'd almost think she owns the place. She has a smile for every guest. And not just when they arrive and leave, but with every encounter at the table. The food was excellent. I opted for a typical local dish: a farmer's breakfast. The portion was so large that even I, a big eater, had trouble handling it. Schweinske is definitely worth a 5-star rating and everyone should visit it at least once. If I'm ever in Kiel again, it's at the top of my list!

We've been regulars at Schweinske since its very beginning in 2007. That's why I can't understand the many 5-star reviews here at all! Unless the other guests have never eaten a schnitzel anywhere else before, and certainly not at the "old" Schweinske before Corona. Because here, we've always had excellent food and the food was excellent value for money. The service was also consistently friendly and good, and the ambiance was beautifully rustic. As for the food, however, we were extremely disappointed the last two times (January and May 2025). The schnitzels were almost cold and completely flavorless...!? The "XXL" schnitzel had shrunk to the size of a standard schnitzel at the time, but the price had almost doubled to €18.00 💶💶💶. That's a price increase of almost 400 percent! 😭😭😭 Unbelievable, and then almost cold, with virtually no flavor of its own. The argument that everything has gotten more expensive doesn't hold water here either, since I'm not getting a 400 percent pay rise anymore.... Unfortunately, 18 years of Schweinske are over for us now, and we've tried twice now. In vain; the place isn't what it used to be.... This also explains why the place was completely empty at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. It used to be almost impossible to even open the door....👌 Luckily, the Bergklause is still there in Holtenau, so we'll be going there more often now. What a shame about such a good restaurant...🥹😭 By the way, a proper "warm" XXL schnitzel costs from 15 euros here! Double the size. Everyone has to decide for themselves. We deliberately omitted pictures of the food; I think everyone knows what a schnitzel looks like, and unfortunately, you can't photograph the temperature of a schnitzel.

I was there once with my mother and her friend. We sat outside and were served very promptly and friendly around midmorning. The food was super fresh. Since I've known the restaurant here in Kiel almost my entire life, I would almost call it an institution. I can no longer imagine living here in Holtenauer without it.

Yes, outside on the terrace in the sunshine, it's really great. A delicious schnitzel with fries. I thought it was great value for money. Super fast and super friendly service. Great, I'll be back. As a small greeting from the kitchen there was a delicious roll with herb butter dip. Not important to me but the schnitzels could all be ordered vegetarian or made from turkey.

Every time we are in Kiel, we like to go to Schweinske. Delicious schnitzels and friendly service with good value for money.

Waiting here for breakfast. The rolls are delicious and not ordinary like at the bakery. However, cold cuts were nothing special. Had the little piglet. We liked the service and the ambience. Toilet was also clean.

Reservation didn't work (reserved 2 months in advance), the service was nice, but it all took forever. No matter whether order, drinks, food or dessert. That came even later. First coffee, then another 15 minutes later the Kaiserschmarrn. When asked why it took so long, it was probably because two employees were unavailable. The guest in front of us had their drinks taken over, we were not offered anything.

We were at Schweinske today around 6 p.m. The restaurant made a very good impression, very clean. The service was great! 😃 and so was the food. Definitely worth recommending. 👍

I had a puti, a dry roll with a 2 euro piece of meat and lots of mayonnaise. Inedible. When the waiter asked if the food was tasty, I said no and didn't want anything else from THE kitchen. I ordered another beer, which the waiter gave to his colleague, who he mentioned by name. Until then everything was fine except for the food. When I asked what the waitress's name was, the waiter completely freaked out and said she was still a minor and I would get in trouble if I didn't go to the restaurant leave immediately. Then I had to pay a bill with two extra beers (10 euros) that I hadn't drunk. So threat of a crime and intentional fraud. I will never enter a Schweinske store again.

The Schweinske is something I miss in Cologne. The food is simply delicious and the service is always friendly and attentive – exactly what you want on a relaxing evening. I like the Schweinske in Kiel even a bit better than the one at Hamburg Central Station. The atmosphere here is just more pleasant and it feels somehow cozier. And don't forget: the Udo beer is really tasty, a refreshing treat that goes perfectly with a relaxed evening.

The schnitzel was fantastic and the portions were well balanced. Our waiter, Philip, had a great view of all the guests, so there was no waiting time. All in all a great evening with good food :)

Service was great and there were also some meat alternatives on the menu, but unfortunately the vegan schnitzel wasn't my cup of tea. It's just the classic alternative schnitzel you get from the supermarket with a breading, it was even the same size, I ordered XXL and got 4 individual pieces. Everything else was really delicious, especially the bread with the dip which was included for free. Overall, definitely worth 5 stars for meat eaters, unfortunately only 4 for me as a vegetarian, but still great!

No, just way too slow for Systwmgastro and tavern! Times for schnitzel and currywurst are around 40 minutes. Others here can do that better. It was tasty, which was a little comforting this time.

I just ate a baked potato with pulled pork and I have to say it was very spicy and super tasty, with beer from "Udo", it also tasted delicious. In addition, the seating is quite comfortable and the service is very pleasant. I can only recommend it.

So this is a system catering that unfortunately can't do anything here, either in terms of service or logistics. Craftsmanship as a cook is not required when preparing frozen goods. Typical Tk schnitzel is bad to have with various dips and supposed sauces - everything is fries - absolute snack level - you can't go wrong with Tk fries. The quality is cheaper and better at the snack bar around the corner. A girl service here who can only grin - not good - and but can't remember 3 things - postponing the order would help with a system. The two ran haphazardly through the store, both of them doing everything but without knowing, like a long drink, for example. goes. Entered the store at around 5:15 p.m. at 5:35 p.m. after being informed that we would now place a drink order. Others at the next table got up and left because they couldn't place an order - they were there before us. At around 5.55 p.m. the first drinks arrived - we then placed our order for food, which after several inquiries and reports about what had just run out in the “kitchen”, our prepared frozen food a la Schweinske arrived at 7 p.m. We didn't pay for the meal due to the many breakdowns - the "boss" also noticed. Ambiente a La Fast Food - Dear people, they prefer to eat where they still have real schnitzel - freshly made - but not frozen food and hello “system boss” Question: Are you sure you have the right staff on board and that you are the “real boss” who has an overview and can do something else besides playing on your smartphone? Schweinske was way better in Hamburg, for example!

Ordered online, total failure. Ordered Schnitzel XXL with two eggs, small portion and you probably can't count up to two. Fried potatoes burnt and cold. Not recommended Addendum: I appreciate your reaction at this point, but I doubt that anything will change, so I will refrain from placing any further orders. Anyone who spends something like this obviously doesn't care about a satisfied customer and is not acting in your or the customer's interest. I decided not to call because experience (not from your company) shows that it doesn't lead to anything. We ate in a Schweinske restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere is similar to that of a snack bar. The tables hadn't been wiped down, the plant decorations hadn't been planted in the containers set up, everything seemed a bit dreary, the menus were dirty and stuck. There was baguette bread and a ready-made remoulade free of charge in advance. The first meal I chose on the menu wasn't there. Different selection made. We ordered a Jägerschnitzel and a veggie burger, both with fries. The food was carelessly presented on the plates and overpriced for the quality. The burger patty was unseasoned and soggy. The schnitzel was extremely thin; the breading is even thicker. The hunter's sauce was an over-seasoned ready-made sauce, the mushrooms came from a jar or can. The only waitress in the restaurant tried to be friendly, but she was very busy taking care of all the tasks at the same time. Our conclusion: the price/performance ratio is not right at all, the cleanliness and comfort leave a lot to be desired. Personally, we have rarely had such a bad meal and will not visit this restaurant again.

Quite simply: price/performance is right here. For example, rolls are great and schnitzel is good! Of course not a star restaurant, but in many supposedly good restaurants in Kiel the quality is much worse! In addition, you are not pressured to continue ordering at the table, you have time. Now to what matters: the food. I chose the classic – a schnitzel with fries – and was surprised at how excitingly simple good cuisine can be. The schnitzel was a masterpiece: tender, fried to a golden brown and coated in a crispy breading that was seasoned to perfection. The fries? A pleasure! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and they were obviously freshly prepared - a sign that nothing is left to chance here. The crowning glory? A homemade dip whose recipe is probably a well-kept secret. However, I would particularly like to highlight the staff: always attentive, unobtrusive and with an impressive ability to be there exactly when you needed them. Every wish was literally read from our lips. Conclusion: This restaurant offers not just food, but an experience. We were there with 3 people on December 28th in the afternoon, there were 2 rolls with a dip for the three of us. My chicken krossies didn't come with the two dips, my son's XL schnitzel was thick, almost black and had very little sauce on it. Nothing was seasoned, we even had to salt the fries. I often go to Schweinske's in Hamburg (Bahrenfeld and Am Stadtpark) and everything was always good there, but the three of us were disappointed in Kiel.

It was so delicious and happy that I forgot I lost my wallet. Thank you.

We had 5x schnitzel and a pulled pork bowl, 3x of which were XXL schnitzel (approx. 20-25cm "diameter"). None of the three XXL were eaten, but overall they were very tasty. Unfortunately one had stringy areas and overall they were cut quite thick. The bowl was tasty, but it was annoying that the coleslaw was mixed with the fries - this quickly made them cold and soggy. The picture with cutlery is the Jägerschnitzel, the one with egg is the Hamburger Schnitzel and the schnitzel with lemon is an XXL Fritz Schnitzel.

Had a spontaneous meal today using the neotaste app. Two schnitzels, very tasty and homemade and, most importantly, great service! Very attentive and friendly! Only recommended!

Went there for lunch with friends and had schnitzel. One with pepper sauce, which tasted rather watery and like maggi fix. Two Elbsässer style, which saved the taste of the unspiced schnitzel a little. And one with baked Camembert, which was just carelessly placed on the schnitzel. So Schweinske was better in terms of quality. Too bad

We were all thrilled about the delicious breakfast, the very friendly service and the price-performance ratio was more than just right. I don't eat pork, but there was other non-pork options which was great!

The schnitzels used to be better, I think they should be beaten more. Some of them are as thick as a chop. Schnitzels are thin and crispy.

Overall it's too greasy, the fried potatoes are very oily, the fried pork chops are too old, and the lemon juice doesn't relieve the greasiness.
