We were pleasantly surprised when we ate at Schweinske on Tuesday evening. We received a very friendly welcome, and the staff were very attentive. Although it was a bit busy, we were served quickly and were extremely helpful. The food arrived promptly, was piping hot, and tasted delicious. Even my daughter's special requests were easily accommodated. The portion sizes are excellent, and the prices are absolutely fair. I was particularly impressed by the relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Deep-fried schnitzel was unacceptable, the fried potatoes and cucumber salad were okay...but no more Udo beer on Friday evening...unacceptable.....

I would have given it more stars in the past, but unfortunately the food has declined, even though the prices have increased. I eat in occasionally, but I also like to get takeout. Unfortunately, the fries are often a bit stale and the portions smaller when I get takeout. The schnitzels are also usually quite tough. I thought it would be better next time, but sadly, it hasn't. I even mentioned it to them in person, but nothing really changed. It's a shame, really, but what else can I do but politely point it out?!

Excellent food at fair prices in a stylish setting

We were last here about a year ago and were very disappointed, but we were all the more thrilled today! The service was extremely good, everything was clean, customers were greeted at the door, etc. Our drinks and food arrived very quickly; everything was there about 10 minutes after we ordered. The food quality has also improved significantly, and there's now plenty of cold cuts for everyone. We are completely satisfied! The only downside was the owner, who we found unpleasant, both in customer service and towards the female employees (who were touched by him without their consent, which was clearly uncomfortable for them). He also walks around in street clothes.

The food was definitely too salty (kale), and the service was inattentive. We waited about 20 minutes to order, even though the restaurant was empty. The two of us paid almost €50 for a regular lunch with drinks. That's definitely too much for a place like that. We won't be back.

Ordered for delivery this evening, November 11th, 2025. After almost two hours, the food still hadn't arrived. I couldn't reach them by phone. I went there in person, and they said they were having technical problems with their Wi-Fi and so on. They didn't offer to take down the order and prepare it. Of course, I've already paid via PayPal and will be requesting a refund. If orders don't arrive and you're having problems, you should either cancel your Lieferando account or find another way to get your orders. Never again... I hope PayPal refunds the money!

Our visit was unfortunately a series of disappointments. Although it was very quiet, we had to wait 5-6 minutes before a server even attended to us. The worst part: the table was dirty and wasn't wiped down during our entire wait. We then waited another 6 minutes or so for our drinks. The absolute low point was when, after an additional 10-minute wait, the server came to our table and informed us that she had forgotten to take our food order. Disorganized, inattentive, and questionable in terms of hygiene. Absolutely not recommended.

Unfortunately, it wasn't so great this time. We ate there for the second time. But it's nothing like it was in March 2025. It all started well. Friendly greeting. "Please sit wherever you like, there were only six guests." And then suddenly we were completely ignored. Other guests arrived, tables were cleared, glasses and the bar were important. After about 20 minutes, I went to the bar and asked if I should leave. "No, where are you sitting?" Of course, with four tables occupied, that's a good question. We ordered the Braumeister Schnitzel, which tasted awful. So greasy with the breading. Like a fried fish. The schnitzel had even absorbed the grease. "Well, complain, that's how it is," said the server. "Okay." And the house dip was also forgotten. "Oh, that can happen, the dish is new." Right. Unbelievable excuses. We paid and left. It's a shame, but we won't be coming back.

We waited an hour and a half for our food. The excuse given was that they were overwhelmed with Lieferando orders. Our food then arrived, and it was cold. Thanks for nothing.

Not quite as rustic as you'd expect in Hamburg. Clean. The food and breakfast were classic pork-cheese fare. Service was attentive, prompt, and friendly.

Due to dental problems, I could only eat soft foods. I chose fried potatoes and a fried egg. It was really well-prepared.

We got there for breakfast (Monday 11:40). We were trying to order and the waitress was so rude and we left immediately. She ruined the experience and very disappointed as we were looking forward to the restaurant.

It was really bad. I wanted to try out the restaurant with my family after a long trip in the countryside. We didn't even get a chance to order. The waiter was obviously very annoyed that we waved him over to order. He then made us wait extra long, which we didn't realize at the time, and when he finally came, he told us that we could order when he thought it was right. So we got up and left. It's a real shame because the restaurant itself was nicely decorated and the food sounded really delicious on the menu. But we could have easily spent 100 euros or more at the place and after such treatment, it really wasn't worth it. To be honest, that's never happened to me before. I was really astonished when I realized how he talked to us. If that wasn't the boss, then I think the owner should look for new staff.

I was back here after over 10 years. Fair prices, attentive service. The Becks BLUE is an excellent non-alcoholic beer. I don't understand the bad reviews. I'd be happy to come back.

After we wanted to order and had also drawn our attention, a waiter came after about 30 minutes – the place was moderately busy, but maybe there was too much to do next door. Of course, the restaurant business can be stressful at times. Just hearing the male waiter tell us he'll come when he feels like it and has time, before he's even had a chance to say hello, is incomprehensible. Instead of first saying hello to customers who were willing to spend a lot of money and then apologizing for the long wait just for our drinks order, the nice man decided to approach us without greeting us and tell us he'd only come when he felt like it and had time. Since I work in the restaurant industry myself, I find that statement really questionable 😅😂. He then said we could leave if we didn't behave the way he wanted. The restaurant business is stressful, but "greeting" customers like that in a moderately busy restaurant on a Sunday is just not acceptable. The food at least looked really good on the menu, but you don't want to spend money on service like that, so we left. Anyone can have a bad day, and if this waiter behaves like that often, he should reconsider his career choice. By the way, we had a reservation...

I've been waiting for my food for over an hour, and nothing's happened. The waiter seems to have completely given up. The food is okay for the price. If you want to eat there, you should plan on spending the whole day.

Just like in Hamburg, Schweinske in Kiel didn't disappoint. Very friendly service, we made a reservation for five people in the beer garden, and everything went perfectly. The food was delicious and the price/performance ratio was top notch. When we left, the kids got a free dessert. Schweinske is always a must for us when we're on vacation here.

Whenever I'm in Kiel with my children, this place is a must. The breakfast, in particular, is fantastic! Always fresh, always perfect, always friendly staff, always busy. There are always free seats – but still very busy.

We had booked a table online, but arrived 40 minutes early, but that wasn't a problem, and we could choose whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. Our order was taken quickly, the bread and dip (free) arrived shortly after, and then the drinks immediately afterward. The food arrived on the table after 15-20 minutes. It was very good, and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. But I would like to highlight the service; it was very, very friendly and very efficient. We were greeted and farewelled very warmly. We will definitely be back.

Saturday, an unplanned, inextinguishable craving for schnitzel, and lo and behold: there's a Schweinske near me. They were actually quite OK back in the 90s when I was living in Hamburg. So, we grabbed the teenager that evening, without any great expectations other than an okay schnitzel, and bored him with old stories on the way. Anyway—I have no idea when I last said this about a restaurant—we were THRILLED: We were able to pick a nice table right away, the service was friendly, fast, attentive, and helpful. Drinks arrived immediately, and to start with, this fabulous bread with dip. Then the schnitzels: both perfect, silky-soft, juicy, but with just the right bite. Breaded to perfection, hunter's sauce, and fried egg each with the perfect pepperiness. The best schnitzels in... ages. Fried potatoes like Mom's used to make, and everyone else should take a page from their fries, along with a generous portion of ketchup and mayo. Even the coleslaw side dish was a treat. Then, just in time for the large portions to fill me up, I ordered dessert: cookie crumble and Kaiserschmarrn. The perfect ending! The whole experience couldn't have been better. Thank you again, and please keep up the good work!

5-star rolls that would make even the toaster jealous! Let's be honest: If you have breakfast at Schweinske in the morning, you've already won the day. The rolls? So fresh, they probably only found out they were baked shortly before. The taste is simply amazing – it even lifts your mood. The service is so friendly, I briefly thought I was at my mom's for dinner. Fast, warm, attentive – you immediately feel welcome. And the ambiance? Truly chic! You eat with your eyes, and that's saying something if you only came for the rolls. And seriously: The prices almost make you feel guilty – almost! Because you get a lot of quality for your money here. Some establishments could learn a thing or two (from their bread). Conclusion: Schweinske rocks – and I'll be back. 😄🥖✨
