The food is delicious. So is the beer.

We had two single rooms and one double room. The first negative experience was that there is no parking at the hotel, which isn't mentioned on the homepage, but should be included. Whether we were wearing hiking boots or carrying a backpack and shopping, we had to walk 300 meters because the street was closed one weekend, and on the second weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, there was a fair and it was closed again, which was a real nuisance. On Friday, there was loud, heavy music until 1:00 a.m., and no one sleeping on that side could sleep because of the loud music. On Saturday, the loud music continued until 3:00 a.m. We could have been given advance warning, but they didn't. The hotel is very dated and in need of renovation, and the dead mosquitoes were still lying on the windowsill after a week. One morning, there weren't enough rolls for all the guests, no eggs, and no tea water. Upon request, more were provided. A very one-dimensional breakfast with few fresh items. Too expensive for what it was. I would not recommend this hotel

I've eaten there twice. Excellent, down-to-earth Franconian cuisine. Delicious beer. Excellent service. Absolutely fair prices.

Very good food, great service, great beer

I walked in feeling like a complete mess and ordered beer for myself and my German wife. We waited forever for it to arrive. Anyway, I drank a quarter and it tasted like soap... but I ordered a short one and it was good! So if you want to drink beer, don't go there unless they don't put anything in it. This place needs to be checked out!

We were there for dinner, it was very cozy outside. For starters, we had a delicious horseradish soup, amazing, but it could have been a bit spicier. The main course was horseradish meat and a shoulder of pork with two dumplings and delicious cabbage. The staff was super friendly and very attentive, fine dining as it should be, so full marks. I'd love to come back. Please keep up the good work.

Absolutely worth every penny. Top-notch service, top-notch food, top-notch drinks, and, above all, top-notch prices. All in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. We'll gladly come back because the Schäuferle (pork shoulder) were perfect!

A first choice in Ebermannstadt - always a happy guest at the Hotel Restaurant Schwanenbräu. Great attention to detail - excellent and attentive service with a selection of food that has consistently delivered excellent quality over many years. You can feel the family atmosphere - always a kind word and a very present senior manager who is attentive to her guests and has a heart and passion for her business. The beer from the junior brewer - especially the wheat beer - is a delight.

Six of us ate there. The service was friendly and helpful when we had any communication problems. The food was plentiful and very good. You can sit inside or outside; I would recommend reserving a table. The location is very nice, quiet near the market square. There's no parking directly there. I can't comment on the rooms; we only ate there.

We went there with the family, and unfortunately, it was obvious that they were cutting corners everywhere. The portion sizes weren't particularly large; the ham platter consisted mostly of cooked ham, the fries were unsalted (although there were salt shakers on the table), ketchup came in packets (avoidable plastic waste), and the fruit juice spritzers were outrageous. The juice ratio was about 1:10 for the apple, currant, and grape juice spritzers. The food was otherwise delicious, but the vegan schnitzel, for example, came with neither sauce nor lemon, which gave the impression that they were simply trying to cut corners. The staff were nice, but they didn't really understand us when we asked questions :/. The vegan salad dressing was very tasty, though—it was delicious :).

I stayed overnight on my motorcycle. The rooms were clean, and we had everything we needed. The location is centrally located on the market square, very nice. Dinner was also very good; I highly recommend the roast beef with onions, and of course the beer too 😉🍻 Breakfast was sufficient, and we were well-fortified to continue our journey the next day.

The Franconian food is always excellent. If you like horseradish, you'll love the horseradish soup as a starter. And if you come here during carp season, I highly recommend the baked carp. The beer is also excellent. Top-notch service and a very nice interior. I give it a rating of 5 swans (I mean 5 stars, of course).

The food here was incredibly delicious. However, the service wasn't so good: we got our food about 10 minutes before our drinks. We also found the portion sizes quite small; we would have preferred to pay more and get more.

Definitely. I'm staying at the Schwanen Guesthouse. It's very nice, and the food at Schwanenbräu is highly recommended. For example, the Franconian Sauerbraten.

During our last vacation in beautiful Franconian Switzerland, my wife and I visited the Dotterweich family's restaurant three times. Our little dog was greeted just as warmly as we were. The food—we chose Franconian specialties—was delicious every time. An absolute recommendation, with a harmonious ambiance and exemplary service.

I ate bratwurst with cabbage, although there was very little cabbage. But it was still tasty.

Six of us were there on a public holiday (it was really busy). Our table was reserved for 1:00 PM (it couldn't be made any earlier). We wanted to continue our journey on the museum train at 2:00 PM. I briefly explained this to the very friendly and cheerful waitress. She said she'd let the kitchen know. Our food arrived incredibly quickly. It was truly delicious. The beer was amazing. Everything went perfectly. Thank you so much 😘

Ein uriges, fränkisches Wirtshaus mit eigener Brauerei und tollem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Küche überzeugt mit bodenständigen Gerichten und regionalen Bieren, die frisch gezapft werden. Zwar ist der Service manchmal etwas unkoordiniert, aber die herzliche Senior-Chefin gleicht das mit ihrer persönlichen Betreuung mehr als aus.

We've eaten at Gasthaus Schwanenbräu several times, including for family celebrations. The food is always excellent and the service is excellent. The staff is always friendly and competent. Thank you very much, and we'll be happy to come back.

Simply recommended! Delicious food, delicious home-brewed beer, world-class service, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, clean rooms, you sleep like a baby here. There are many great outdoor activities in the surrounding area. If you're nearby, stop by or use the location for a trip to the beautiful Franconian Switzerland. I'm here regularly for work.

It's a lovely restaurant, and the service is very friendly. Those are the two reasons why I gave it two stars. My meal was truly inedible. It was a salad with an inedible vinegar dressing and fish strips that were dry and oversalted. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it at all, and I won't be going back again.

Went here spontaneously for dinner. Schäuferle and sauerbraten were perfect. Beer from our own brewery was also delicious.

In April 2025 we went to Ebermannstadt for a short trip and spent three lovely nights at the Hotel Schwanenbräu. Then in the evening to the restaurant. The service is first class. I actually had to put on a tie for the various waitresses we encountered to emphasize the friendliness and care. The food was tasty, the portions were just right and the prices, as they say, normal. Something new for us, the Franconian pepper carp. To get straight to the point: the highly praised English fish and chips are nothing compared to this. (I experienced this on a tour of Bristol and Tunbridge Wells in England last year. That was quite different). Here tender carp in a pleasant breading. The other hotels and restaurants in Ebermannstadt are certainly also good, but we mainly experienced the Schwanen's cuisine. By the way, praise to those responsible for the hotel: the booking form for the rooms is perfect, you don't need Booking.com.

We were there for lunch. The service is friendly. The food was very tasty and wholesome. Fresh and seasonal cuisine. Gladly again.

The hotel is clean and you are greeted in a friendly manner. Unfortunately it's a bit difficult to park there, but if you call ahead it's possible. Also, 2 obvious employees were smoking right outside the hotel. Not so cool if you eat breakfast outside.

Really good Franconian food from Schäuferla to schnitzel with beer brewed by Hannes (i.e. in the house). It tastes good and the waitresses are always nice and accommodating. Always happy.

Mal wieder bei den Dotterweichs in EBS gewesen. Nach dem Tod des Seniorchefs vor einem Jahr geht wieder alles seinen gewohnten Gang. Sonntag Mittag 2 Schichten voll. Derzeit überwiegend deutsches Personal. Die Chefin sieht nach dem Rechten. Es gibt neben Pils und Dunklem auch einen Hellen Bock, allerdings nur aus der Flasche. Die Speisekarte wie immer sehr groß, was wohl den Gästen im eigenen Hotel geschuldet ist. Klassiker wie Sauerbraten und Schäufala, Entenbrust und Krenfleisch stehen dort wie eine Karpfenseite und diverse für Kinder und Vegetarier. Wie wir hörten, ist der Koch aus Indien nun schon 9 Jahre im Dienst. Nicht alles gelingt, aber das meiste. Leberknödelsuppe war lauwarm und die Hauptgerichte kamen schon, als die Suppe noch nicht gegessen war. Schäufala ein Gedicht, Wirsing zu sehr eingedickt. Der Service war sehr freundlich und verständnisvoll, auch nach unserer kritik. Da uns alle Bier gut bis sehr gut (herbes Pils) geschmeckt haben, gibt es insgesamt ein Plus. Win gelungener Besuch. Wir empfehlen das Schwanenbräu gerne weiter.

The food was definitely delicious, that's why it's still 4 stars. But the service could be better and more attentive. We also had the feeling that there were "important" tables that were treated better than you. We would rather eat somewhere else next time. I can't rate the rooms.

I just want to rate the restaurant here. There were four of us there and the reception was really very unfriendly. The restaurant looks very classy at first glance, but if you take a closer look, it's not that professional. When we were escorted to our seat we were only given 2 menu cards instead of 4. We found that very unprofessional. About the food: We had the Franconian Cordon Bleu twice, which was still bloody inside. The side salad still had sand in the lettuce leaf and was carelessly prepared. 1x the grill plate, which was the biggest disappointment, 2 mini Nuremberg sausages completely charred, a leathery pork belly and meat with lots of tendons. Really a disgrace for the price.

Ich möchte hier nur das Restaurant bewerten. Wir waren zu viert dort und wurden wirklich sehr unfreundlich empfangen. Das Restaurant sieht auf den 1. Blick sehr edel aus, aber wenn man genauer hinschaut, ist es doch nicht so professionell. Als wir zu unserem Platz begleitet wurden bekamen wir nur 2 Menükarten statt 4. Das fanden wir sehr unprofessionell. Zum Essen: Wir hatten 2x das fränkische Cordon Bleu, das innen noch blutig war. Der Beilagensalat hatte noch Sand im Salatblatt und war lieblos angerichtet. 1x den Grillteller, was die größte Enttäuschung war, 2 Mini Nürnberger Würstchen völlig verkohlt, ein ledriger Schweinebauch und Fleisch mit vielen Sehnen. Für den Preis wirklich eine Frechheit.

Actually, I don't want to praise the restaurant here too much, because it's always well filled ;-) We ate there three evenings last week and were once again thrilled. This is how we imagine Franconian cuisine, and the Wiener Schnitzel shouldn't be forgotten either. What we particularly notice at the Schwan are the friendly employees, including the boss. We would be happy to come back.

Food great but incredibly expensive. The prices on the menu were different than those on the bill at the end... for an omelet with chanterelles 19.80 euros instead of 15.80 euros as in the menu. If prices change, you must communicate this in advance and not leave any comments. Also: almost 20 euros for an omelet??? A simple and admittedly small schnitzel was in a similar price segment. Despite inflation etc., I have no understanding whatsoever for a 20 euro omelet or schnitzel. Certainly this could have been addressed after receiving the invoice, which unfortunately we did not do.

So the waiter today, the slim and slightly younger one, was absolutely top notch. Always with the guests, really on the ball. Today I left a 20% tip for the first time in my life. Respect!

Das Restaurant ist für mich in fast jeder Beziehung ideal. Gutes, selbstgebrautes Bier, sehr guter Service, im Außenbereich hat man einen schönen Blick über den Marktplatz von Ebermannstadt und das Essen ist auch sehr gut. Ich persönlich kann die Käsespätzle, das Schnitzel Wiener Art sowie den Zwiebelrostbraten empfehlen.

We were here with a group of around 20 people and were served in an absolutely courteous and friendly manner. We were accommodated in a side room that perfectly suited our group size. The food tasted excellent throughout and was perfectly priced. As a nice gimmick, every now and then the boss would ask about our well-being and also provide us with one or two jokes. We'd love to come back when we're in the area!

When I stayed 4 nights in Ebermannstadt, I didn't really want to go to the same restaurant twice. However, the sauerbraten was so good that I couldn't get it out of my head the following day and treated myself to it again.😂

During a vacation in Ebermannstadt we had dinner at Schwanenbräu twice. Everything was great here: attentive and friendly service, excellent food, a delicious home-brewed beer. The ambience is getting old, but still seems solid. The outdoor seating is also highly recommended on a cozy summer evening.

I can't say anything about the rooms, we only come to eat and always stay in the guest house.

Arrived shortly before opening at 4:55 p.m. There were already drinks at the next table. Sometime well after 5 p.m., “Reserved” cards were distributed to all tables. It didn't bother me at first. But then a waiter came and made it clear to me - you are not welcome here - you are sitting at a reserved table. I then followed instructions. I assume there was a “no show” at my table. Food not as promised - sometimes hash browns instead of croquettes - meat in homeopathic quantities, chanterelles completely tasteless. The salad with that old-fashioned dressing that I've never liked wasn't very filling either. Every season the quality and quantity decreases and the price increases. The star is for the good beer. But the feeling of not being welcome puts this restaurant on the sidelines.

Reservation was a bit difficult, but we were able to enjoy a delicious meal on Sunday. Staff on point, food served quickly even though the restaurant was completely full. The boss also looks into the rooms and asks if everything is okay. She has everything in view. Tasty & inexpensive

If you go out there in the evening in summer/autumn you will be served late and treated unfriendly by the waitress. Can't recommend. Then the food burned too.

We ate and drank at the Swan twice. The Schäuferle was good and rich. The cheese noodles and the bratwurst on sauerkraut as well. In the starter soup there were no pancake strips but baking peas. We really liked the house beer and bought a carton of it in the restaurant. On the first day the service was excellent, attentive and friendly. The young lady had everything well under control. The employee was probably off on the second day and things were a bit uncoordinated. Unfortunately, there wasn't a drink as an excuse, as was supposed to be the case. The ambience is typical for the region, cozy and somewhat old-fashioned. But it fits. The prices are reasonably fair. And we liked it and would come back again. Recommendation.

We took a seat outside and planned to try the Schwanen dark. After we spoke to a service person rushing past and she put us off for a moment, 10 minutes passed until another person appeared to serve the two neighboring tables. We spoke to them too and the same thing happened as before, namely nothing. Quite disappointed, we got up after 20 minutes and left the place.

Today we were guests in the next room with 18 people. We were all thrilled by the very friendly and flexible service, the quality, taste and portion size of the food was sensational (at really reasonable prices -> correctly "inexpensive") and the rooms were also wonderful. The icing on the cake is the boss who acts everywhere, communicates cheekily and charmingly and sees the guest personally. Today it was also a full house at this time - respect! Thank you for the wonderful and delicious time in your house!

Short-term arrival because other accommodation was canceled at short notice during a hike. Therefore, arrival very early and spontaneously and without a shower. The welcome was unbeatable in terms of hospitality, warmth and, above all, pragmatism. We were offered a free room and a coffee beforehand (with the opportunity to look at the room beforehand to see if it was suitable). Check-in was possible immediately. So also a shower. The rooms are very well maintained and clean. The dinner (and the house beers) were the highlights of the hike. At this point, a big thank you to the staff! Everyone I came into contact with was professional and very accommodating. Conclusion: A real recommendation as a starting point for hikes, good food and hospitality.

Das Haus kann man nicht weiterempfehlen, da weder der Wirt noch das Personal jemals etwas von Flexibilität und Gastfreundschaft gehört haben. Wir wurden vom Wirt des Wiesentgarten hierher empfohlen und angemeldet mit der Aussage, wir wären hier mit unserer Gruppe von ca 22 Personen sehr gut aufgehoben. Als wir das Lokal erreichten, fragte ich ob es möglich wäre draußen zu sitzen. Sofort erklärte mir der Wirt, die Aussenmöbel wären von dem Regen 2 Stunden zuvor noch nass und ausserdem würde er jetzt kein Personal nach draußen abstellen. Nicht nur diese Aussage, sondern auch der Ton waren mir gegenüber unverschämt. Die Tische und Stühle kurz abzuwischen und eine Gruppe von mehr als 22 Personen zu bedienen hat nicht jeder nötig. Dieser Gastronomiebetrieb scheint genug Umsatz zu generieren um auf zahlungskräftige Gästegruppen verzichten zu können. Wirte, die mit einer solchen Arroganz den Kunden gegenüber auftreten haben ein Haus das auf den ersten Blick eigentlich einen positiven Eindruck vermittelt, nicht verdient. Ich persönlich werde all meinen Freunden und Gästen diese Erfahrung weitergeben und davon abraten sich in diesen Gasträumen bedienen zu lassen, damit sie ihre positive Urlaubslaune nicht verlieren.

Very nice restaurant...in the middle of the city. A good service and a good food. The ambience is also very appealing. However, toilets are not barrier-free and are located in the basement. If we are in Ebermannstadt again, we will definitely come back. I can absolutely recommend this restaurant!

We spontaneously stopped in on a bike ride and sat outside. The staff was very attentive and nice. The food was also very good and, above all, finally a chef who uses salt!!!👏🏻Of course it's a matter of taste, but otherwise you get bland schnitzel everywhere. Not so at Schwanenbräu. Changes to supplements are also possible at NO extra charge. Really completely recommended!

Best house in Ebermannstadt! The operators are now like family. Every wish is fulfilled here. We have enjoyed coming here every year for around 35 years! The food here is great! We recommend!

We went there for lunch after a bike ride. The location is central and easy to reach. I had the veal cordon bleu. The Cordon Bleu was incredibly delicious! Quality 1A! The taste was excellent, perfectly seasoned, tender, the cheese was super melted on the inside and rounded off the overall taste. Absolute recommendation! The atmosphere is rustic and middle-class. We felt super comfortable. Thumbs up! If I end up in Ebermannstadt again, I/we will definitely come back.

Centrally located in the town center, this family-run hotel is number 1 in Ebermannstadt. Newly renovated rooms, tasty Franconian cuisine (carp!) and, last but not least, charming, professional service. We'll definitely come back.

Good home cooking, very good beer and nice staff

The grill plate with salad was a bit sparsely stocked. The salad included a leaf of lettuce with tomato. The pieces of meat were very thin. A steak should probably be at least 1cm thick and not schnitzel thin. Only the friendly service earns the 2nd star.

Went to dinner at the inn. It was very crowded, it was the spring market. Nevertheless, it was very comfortable. The service was very friendly and quick. The menu is plentiful. You can always find something you want to eat. The food (duck with dumpling and schnitzel with cream chamingon and button spaetzle - unfortunately no photo) tasted excellent. I can say that I would eat here again and again and can recommend it with a clear conscience. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the hotel room. But these are definitely recommended.

Seit Jahren ist das Hotel mit dem Brauereigasthof für uns eine Anlaufstelle, um uns eine Auszeit zu gönnen.Neben dem Die Servicekräfte sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich; stellen somit den Gast in den Mittelpunkt. Das ist heutzutage außergewöhnlich. Zusatzwünsche werden berücksichtigt und stellen für die Betreiberfamilie kein Problem dar. Hotel und Gasthaus sind rundherum sehr zu empfehlen. Wir haben und wieder sehr wohl gefühlt.
