A bit pricey, but otherwise pretty good! 😜😘

We've been there a few times since it opened. The food has always been very good and appealing, and the service very friendly and attentive. Last night, after about six months, we went again. Total disappointment! The food was barely cafeteria quality. The schnitzels are absolutely not recommended! Very thin and definitely from a pre-packaged catering kit. The breading was awful, the gravy a thick, tasteless mess straight from a packet. The French fries look completely different. I suspect that the owner has changed in the last few months, or that they've cut costs. As things stand now, I predict that the Schwabentroll, despite its promising start, won't last much longer.

Cozy atmosphere. The Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes was huge and delicious! They were very accommodating to requests. The food arrived very quickly. Overall, good value for money!

Finally, something good and authentically Swabian in the region! We went to Schwabentroll for the first time yesterday. The atmosphere is perfect for a cozy Swabian evening. Everything is lovingly and comfortably furnished. The food was really delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Parking is available in the parking garage directly below.

We went to eat at Schwabentroll with friends on a Saturday evening. The waitress showed us to our table right away and came back two minutes later to take our drink order. It took another five minutes to take our food order. We weren't ready yet. The waitress was completely understanding. We ordered, and after about 20 minutes, the food arrived. The three chicken breast fillets came with a side salad and a baked potato, as well as herb butter, which was only enough for one piece of meat. The quality of the food was okay. Due to its size, the ambiance is more like a large hall.

The medium roast beef with onions we ordered arrived cooked thoroughly. After we complained, a new one was prepared. When it arrived, it was completely raw inside and had only been kissed by the pan for a few seconds. My wife lost her appetite after that. Our daughter's schnitzel was too salty and completely overseasoned. When we sent the second roast beef back, there was a lot of whispering in front of the kitchen in the restaurant with the team and the chef, and then they pointed fingers at us and our table from across the restaurant (an absolute no-go). When we complained about what was going on, the waiter responded that the kitchen just wanted to know who was complaining and that the chef was there and was putting pressure on the kitchen to prepare and serve the food quickly. (Which is absolutely not acceptable; the kitchen is supposed to prepare good food and not send out something half-cooked under pressure.) The chef himself never felt it necessary to come to our table and apologize personally or offer us anything as a gesture of goodwill (also a no-go). Last but not least, the roast beef was also on the bill and was more or less reluctantly canceled when the waitress noticed that we looked a bit strange at the final total. When we asked for the bill, a waitress came over and threw a half-crumpled bill onto the table from a meter away, half over my shoulder and arm, before immediately turning around and walking away. When we remarked as we left that this was the absolute cheeky highlight of the evening, she just smiled. We will definitely not be eating here again!

The beer and the schnitzel with fried potatoes were okay.

Love the restaurant! My second time here! Great portions and VERY FRIENDLY staff! They have a see through open kitchen where you see your food cooked if you wish! A side note, upon my first night arrival from a long flight from Asia, I forgot my passport and wallet in the restaurant! Second day I returned and they kindly saved for me! They are angels !

The main course was delicious, but things got really unpleasant with dessert: My apple rings were coated in salt instead of sugar. My throat burned after the first bite – and of course, my drink was already empty. I did get a new portion after complaining, but it was significantly smaller. There was no apology from the kitchen, and the waitress seemed to find the situation rather amusing; there was no concession or compensation. After such a blunder, I would have expected at least a little leniency. For almost €40, I'd rather eat somewhere else next time.

I recently went there with my boyfriend. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and speed of service. The waitress who served us was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. The ambiance is old-fashioned and cozy. The food portions are huge and very tasty. Definitely recommended!

It was fine. However, it's a no-go if the veggie burger is cooked right next to the steak in the same fat.

We've always been satisfied, but yesterday was the first time we've been disappointed. On a Sunday, there was only one waitress and one assistant. We did get our table and the menu, but nothing happened after that. We waited over ten minutes, but no one came. We got up and left. I don't think that's acceptable on a Sunday. I actually felt sorry for the waitress.

There were three of us there, with our dog, and without a reservation on a Sunday. We received a very friendly welcome, and the dog was given a water bowl—without asking. The food was exceptionally good, and the wait was perfectly acceptable. The portions were very generous. The cheese spaetzle sushi was delicious; I had to try it. A cool interpretation of the Swabian classic! What I really like is the kitchen, which you can see into. The ambiance is classically rustic yet stylish. Even the restrooms are worth a visit 🤣 Bottom line: risk of repeat visit 😋😋

You should allow yourself some time when visiting Schwabentroll in Leonberg. On my last visit, I waited about an hour for my meal. The service was rather curt, and the food, although solid, doesn't really justify the high price. I had imagined the visit to be better.

We've been to Schwabentroll several times now – it's practically become our regular. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the menu offers many classics with creative and varied interpretations. The location is beautifully designed: cozy yet modern. It's always busy, but we've always managed to get a seat. It's also a great place for larger groups (e.g., corporate events). The service is fast, friendly, and prompt, and the food is usually on the table shortly after ordering. The central location with easy parking is also a huge plus. We always enjoy coming back, even with friends – and we'll definitely be coming back many more times!

It's more like mass processing here... there were 10 people there... the first person had finished eating when the last one got theirs... salad with a hint of sauce, meat completely dry, potatoes tasteless and dip more like bought than homemade... the service can't be blamed for that... completely overwhelmed with taking orders, bringing food and drinks... no, sorry

We went to Schwabentroll for the first time on Sunday and were thrilled! Very cozy atmosphere and great service. The food was excellent, the Sunday roast is highly recommended.

Our starter had moldy goat cheese on it. We immediately complained to the waitress, who initially told us it was the seasoning. Upon closer inspection, she also saw the fur and stains and took it back to the kitchen. We decided not to have the starter. The main course was quite good, the schnitzel very good, and the rest was nothing special. We were offered a free dessert as a gesture of goodwill, which we gladly accepted. Unfortunately, the starter was still on the bill, even though we had agreed otherwise. It's a shame, but we won't be coming back.

The food was served 67 minutes after ordering... When I asked why the food hadn't been served an hour later, after checking the system, I was answered with the following: "You didn't order an hour ago, but 52 minutes ago!" ...it took another 15 minutes after that! The food was completely inedible... although that probably depends on personal taste. I sent my food back after finding a hair under my schnitzel. The only good thing about the restaurant visit was that after finding a hair in my food, they offered me a new one (I politely declined)... so I didn't have to pay for the meal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the restaurant... keep working on it!

I was looking forward to Swabian home cooking, but it was more like mass-produced food in a perfectly fitting cafeteria setting. The food arrived 5 minutes after ordering 😕 Fresh preparation is hardly possible.

We like to eat good Swabian/traditional food here. We like the portion sizes, the quality, and the taste. The staff is friendly and efficient. When the restaurant is busy, the murmuring (the volume of other people's conversations) can be quite loud, and the acoustics don't absorb much sound. We still enjoy coming here.

From the outside you don't expect this cozy place and the food tastes really great fries which are really worth a sin delicious

If you choose something else instead of fries, you won't get any fries and you'll have to pay the full price for the side order.

Delicious food, the portions could perhaps be a little larger for good eaters. We felt very comfortable outside on a Sunday evening - spontaneously without prior reservation - in fantastic weather. We have been sitting at the table for 1 hour and 45 minutes. We haven't received the food yet. A steak just arrived. But it wasn't medium, it was done! Never again! At least the waitresses were nice!

Have been here many times and have always been very satisfied... however, something has been wrong with the kitchen for about six months... unfortunately Today a completely loveless Caesar salad for over 18 euros. A mountain of partly wilted lettuce with cocktail tomatoes and two chicken schnitzels... (just on top) Upon request, the kitchen now has to do it that way. I don't understand and I think it's a real shame... About 2 months ago another dish with completely wilted rocket in top...

You used to be a really good inn. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed twice in a row now. About today: The last toilet cleaning inspection was in April, today is May 4th. But lovelessness in the kitchen cannot be tolerated. Today it was Cesarsalad “a la Schwabentroll”. 😡Two chicken schnitzels and partly wilted lettuce leaves with cocktail tomatoes and parmesan slices. Oh yes, at €18.50. When asked, it was said that we have to do it this way now. It's a shame - maybe you should rethink the concept. Until then I'll go to other pubs.

I say I eat there often and I'm very happy with the quality there, the service was great as always. The food suffered a little due to the capacity... you can be forgiven for that. We'd love to come back, stick with it.

We had two children's meals and two main courses and were completely satisfied. The cordon bleu was excellent, the fries were super tasty and the “Troll iced tea” was really refreshing. The toilets were clean, the atmosphere in the restaurant is very large and spacious, but still beautifully decorated with lots of loving details, so that it still feels cozy. We were particularly impressed by the service: very attentive, friendly - and with great interaction with the girls, which made them both particularly happy. The food also came really quickly, so overall a relaxed, nice family visit. Ambience and service good, although you have to wait a long time for your orders. Unfortunately the food was not recommended at all. In addition to unseasoned, burnt fried potatoes, the schnitzel seemed like frozen and prepared in the deep fryer. Käsespätzle is also unseasoned and with declared 3 types of cheese you simply expect more. Unfortunately we won't be coming here again.

I probably won't visit this restaurant again. The food was ok, the salad had been in the broth for some time, just serving the soup was awesome, the spoon was in the soup cup, no saucer, completely careless. The only thing that impressed me was the ambience.

I was really looking forward to something decent Swabian; However, my colleague and I were very disappointed!!! Breaded schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and homemade egg dumplings. Instead of a side salad I used the potato salad because I love good potato salad! My colleague had the same schnitzel but with fried potatoes, gravy and a side salad. So far so good... everything was ok at the time. Then the food came. Looked pretty good at first glance. But: The breading on the schnitzel tasted strange. In addition, the schnitzels were not properly done! The homemade Eierknöpfle were then Spätzle which were certainly NOT homemade or they can't do that either...in good German they didn't taste like anything! Like the rest, the mushroom cream sauce looked really good at first glance. But it had zero point zero taste! It only tasted like butter! How you manage to do that despite the mushrooms in it is a mystery to me. So long story short: Each of us took 2 bites and then let the food go back completely! They offered to make new schnitzels...but we were so disappointed because nothing tasted good, not even the potato salad...it was also just 0815...that we paid the bill straight away and wanted to leave. It was also a shame that we had to pay for everything in full even though the plates were barely touched. So my summary !!! NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! ...is just a waste of money! p.s. Unfortunately, we were so shocked by the food that none of us thought to take pictures of it... although apart from the two half-raw schnitzels, we couldn't have seen much bad... because they actually looked good.

Hatte mich so auf was anständiges Schwäbisches gefreut; allerdings wurden Kollege und ich sehr schwer enttäuscht!!! Panniertes Schnitzel mit Pilzrahmsosse und selbstgemachten Eierknöpfle. Statt Beilagensalat nahm ich den Kartoffelsalat weil ich guten Kartoffelsalat liebe! Kollege gleiches Schnitzel allerdings mit Bratkartoffeln Bratensosse und Beilagensalat. Soweit so gut ...zeitlich war auch alles ok. Dann kam das Essen. Sah auf den ersten Blick ganz gut aus. Aber: Die Panade der Schnitzel hat ganz komisch geschmeckt. Zudem waren die Schnitzel nicht richtig durch! Die selbstgemachten Eierknöpfle waren dann Spätzle die mit sicherheit NICHT selbstgemacht waren oder das können die dort ebenfalls nicht...haben auf gut deutsch nach nichts geschmeckt! Die Pilzrahmsosse sah wie der Rest auf den ersten Blick echt gut aus. Hatte aber Null komma Null Geschmack! Hat nur nach Butter geschmeckt! Wie man das trotz der Pilze darin hinbekommt ist mir ein Rätsel. Also lange Geschichte kurz erzählt: Jeder von uns nahm 2 Bissen um dann die Essen komplett zurückgehen zu lassen! Es wurde angeboten neue Schnitzel zu machen...allerdings waren wir soo enttäuscht weil nichts geschmeckt hatte nicht mal der Kartoffelsalat..war auch nur 0815...das wir direkt die Rechnung und gehen wollten. Eine Frechheit war auch das wir alles voll bezahlen mussten obwohl die Teller kaum angerührt waren. Also mein Resümee !!! NIE WIEDER HIER ESSEN GEHEN !!! ...ist einfach nur rausgeschmissenes Geld! p.s. leider waren wir soo schockiert vom Essen das keiner von uns daran dachte Bilder davon zu machen...obwohl man da ausser den beiden halbrohen Schnitzeln nicht viel schlechtes gesehen hätte...denn gut ausgesehen haben die Sachen eigentlich.

Yes, it's a dream to go out to eat. Large portions and delicious. Unfortunately, there was a slight disappointment at the beginning when we arrived. A sweet little waitress with sexy tattoos was very attentive and very sweet and friendly. Then a new waitress came. Then it got a bit busier and you had to wait a really long time for drinks, up to 25 minutes. Then a second waitress came and it didn't get any better. Unfortunately, the waitresses talked to guests and you had to wait a really long time for drinks or even to order anything. But the highlight was the man behind the counter. He must have had a cold and was constantly coughing into his hands. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a mask and didn't wash his hands either. Seems unhygienic. I called after 25 minutes to order something, but there was only a very rude person on the phone who asked for the table. Unfortunately, they didn't have a number. Overall, the food was good. Service was poor and could be improved. With a turnover of over €100, I expect more.

Had dinner yesterday with eight people. We didn't particularly like that. Staff brought the wrong food. I expected more from the Swabian Troll. I can't recommend it.

The ambience is really very successful, the entrance area and the guest room are very nicely and appropriately furnished. The service is super nice, courteous and professional. The menu is colorfully mixed from classics to special dishes. Unfortunately, the food didn't really suit us and we can only give it a “satisfactory” rating.

Had dinner with 7 people yesterday. The food was ok apart from the potato salad. Service was friendly, but everything took a relatively long time because there wasn't that much going on at 5 p.m. The location itself is rustic, modern, cozy. We'd love to come back.

Yesterday I was there with a hiking group (had made a reservation) for a final stop. Everything was fine! The restaurant has kitchen all the time, which I really appreciate, especially on weekends. The drinks and food were served quickly. The food was very nicely prepared and was very well received, which in turn can be attributed to the fact that it was freshly cooked. Keep it up!! We'll be back.

I was here with a group of 10 people. The menu is very diverse and the selection is large. We all had different dishes and they were all brought to us at the same time so we could eat together. We all loved the salad dressing! Also from the meat dishes and the side dishes. The only thing we didn't like the taste of was the bratwurst on the tavern platter. But it's a matter of taste! Overall, great to eat here. The ambience is a cozy inn, just as the concept is intended - great. We will come here more often 👌

The Schwabentroll is located in the center of Leonberg. It is comfortably furnished and everything is clean and tidy. The quality and taste of the food is very good. Here we cook with love and you can taste it. The portions aren't exactly small either. There is also a great team here, very friendly and accommodating. You can really have a good time.

Das Restaurant befindet sich im Zentrum von Leonberg. Es ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es ist alles sauber und ordentlich. Das Essen ist qualitativ, wie geschmacklich sehr gut. Hier wird mit Liebe gekocht und das schmeckt man. Die Portionen sind auch nicht gerade klein. Das gesamte Team war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Hier wird man richtig verwöhnt.

Were received, advised and served very nicely by Mrs. Panagiota. The cuisine was unsurpassed, fried potatoes to my taste, unfortunately without bacon but that was explained to me nicely, but that's complaining on a very high level. Keep it up again.

A wonderful restaurant with authentic Swabian cuisine that I always enjoy visiting. The food is of excellent quality and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. I particularly like that there are new offers on a regular basis, such as special themed evenings, which provide variety. A place where you feel comfortable and always want to come back.

We ordered a Wienerschnitzel, a veggie burger and fries to take away. Around 50 euros for everything. The schnitzel had shrunk by 50 percent, all the breading was broken and dark brown, and the meat was almost impossible to chew in some places. You had the feeling that the schnitzel had been in the fridge for a few days and that it had been briefly warmed up in the microwave. Some of the fries are raw. Gravy terrible. Veggie burger... as well. It always used to be good. I can't understand how a chef can sell something like that to a customer. But I know that we threw away €50 in the trash can. Never again.

The food was solid but nothing exceptional. I had a tarte flambée that I enjoyed. My companion, on the other hand, had cheese spaetzle, which was less than convincing. However, it should be mentioned that we ate very late. The ambience, on the other hand, was absolutely impressive – a true dream and a special feel-good atmosphere.

We asked two friends on their birthday if there was anything. The waitress wanted to bring two candles. A long time after the main course (at least 30 minutes) two small desserts arrived, each with a candle. In the end these were charged unexpectedly (€8.50 each)

Service and ambience were very successful. The food didn't pick me up 100%. It wasn't anything special. The spice was missing. This has continued from the bratwurst to the schnitzel to the Maultaschen. The same goes for the cheese spaetzle. The beer was very tasty and the price was okay.

Beautiful entrance area and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately very big and loud. The food was lovingly prepared. But for all of us there were parts of the food that were cold. I had a pan of cheese noodles that were completely cold, as if I had forgotten to put them in the oven. Some things also seem to be industrially produced and not prepared in-house. E.g. the spaetzle and the fried onions. It was ok. But nothing more. I won't go there anymore.

Went there for dinner with the family (2 children). All in all a pleasant visit. The ambience is nice and appropriate, the volume is absolutely not disturbing despite the size. Service is friendly, but not the most attentive that evening. I often had to be actively called to the table in the evening to reorder drinks. Food (3x schnitzel with spaetzle with sauce, 1x potato dumpling + starters) was all in all okay, dumplings were very good, schnitzel mediocre. From our point of view, the rather tasteless gravy and the temperature control of the food were disturbing. On one plate the spaetzle and schnitzel were hot, on the next they were both lukewarm and on the third the schnitzel was hot and the spaetzle was lukewarm to cold. Food also arrived at a different time (and it wasn't just like this for us, some of the guests at the next table had already eaten their food when the rest of the group got their food). Too bad. But we will come again and try other dishes.

Hello Schwabentroll team. Unfortunately I have to give my review now. Was your guest, the first impression was average. The environment was far too loud. Unfortunately the food was just average for the price. I found the loud music from the kitchen to be very disturbing, and I also found the cook to be very intrusive and unhygienic. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend your establishment.

I was eating at Schwabentroll on Wednesday. Ambience is like that. The volume is definitely too much, but the worst thing for me was a fingertip of a black glove in my food. When I asked the, mind you, unsympathetic chef about it, all I got was a mischievous grin. This is not acceptable. Therefore I cannot recommend this location.

Were there on a Friday evening. There was a lot going on and therefore very loud that the sound had to be raised even when ordering. The food came on time. I've had worse side salads. We both had the Cordonbleu (Gfüldes). Me with fried potatoes and my companion with tavern fries. Both Cordonbleu were much too light. NO roasted aromas, not a bit crossy, just mushy - perhaps briefly turned in the pan and then finished in the convection oven? The filling consisted of a mixture of cheese, which reminded me very much of processed cheese. The meat was very thin, yes I know that's the case with real Wienerschnitzel, but it was a pork cordon bleu. After I had tasted the fried potatoes at lunch a few days before (I had a really delicious flatbread soup) and they were really great, I was really looking forward to them. Unfortunately this time they were almost unseasoned, monster thick (2-3 times as thick as the meat) and just plain bland. What we also noticed with meat. Thanks to the sauce we ordered, there was some spice to it. What should be emphasized is that the Wirtshaus fries were extremely tasty. Of course you wonder how such a stark difference can arise... possibly there are 2 chefs on different shifts... Oh yes, another tip: the entire kitchen staff should NEVER forget that it is a glass kitchen and that it doesn't work so well if you watch people eating from different containers... Conclusion for us, the price-performance ratio is not right at all

We were there with a small group to have something to eat. We called 30 minutes before and there was still space. The selection of food is good. I had the rump steak with baked potatoes. The meat was fried to perfection (medium rare) and was very tender. Really good meat, no tendons or anything like that. Just good. For starters I had a mushroom soup, which was also very tasty. My friends had Philly Chees steak, schnitzel and stuffed schnitzel. Everyone said it was delicious. The service was very friendly and the food came quite quickly. Highly recommended. What you should also know is that after 7 p.m. you can no longer get in through all the doors of the parking garage. You can only get in at A3. This door is directly in front of the restaurant.
