This charming little restaurant is a true gem for lovers of delicious cuisine and impresses with its spartan, rustic flair. The changing dishes always surprise us every time we visit. We are thrilled by the sophisticated culinary combinations and variations that are served to us in bowls and plates. Here, every dinner becomes a new journey of discovery for the palate - a must for connoisseurs who are looking for something special.

Perfect evening with great food and wine

Went there with a party of 4 on April 20th. We loved the food, but: One in our party was vegetarian/non-alcohol. Three of us took the tasting food+wine menu, which is not vegetarian. I initially asked the waiter to come up with something synchronized with the 6 courses of the other 3, but there was little help coming from his end. Moreover, while the dinner proceeded and the courses and wine were served, not a single time did the waiter care for our vegetarian guest. No question whether another (non-alcoholic) drink would be needed, or another course. Even for the desert we needed to get active ourselves. I expect from a restaurant of this price category to come up with some suggestions and service for such a situation. This should be basic etiquette, which was not followed here. Therefore I can only give 3 stars. ADD (after reply from the restaurant): To clarify, I was the one having the tasting menu, not the alacart menu, and also the one who invited the guests, selected the restaurant (a friend did the reservation), and paid the bill. I act on the feedback I got from my vegetarian friend. I upgrade the review to 3 stars, but I'd propose a more conscious service. It would have been easy to match each of the tasting courses with a vegetarian option, duplicating some of them if needed (for example, your awesome Zucchini could be served twice). Someone should have asked the vegetarian guest if he'd like another drink, or a desert. At least bread could have been refreshed without us everytime asking for it. There are easy ways how this could have been addressed, please consider in the future.

We ended up in the tailor shop by chance and were pleasantly surprised: first-class food and extremely friendly service.

I went to the tailor shop for the first time on Friday and it was a fabulous evening with great service and the most delicious spring tasting menu. Seven lovingly prepared and sophisticated dishes, a perfectly coordinated sequence with an explosion of taste! I love good food and this menu can compete with a star kitchen. In the end you are happy, satisfied and comfortably full. What a shame that they are closing soon - but Liron Shnaider also runs the Esser in Kadewe in addition to the tailoring shop and so you can also enjoy his extremely delicious dishes!

Amazing ambience and a great place to dine in.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the new spring tasting menu with the wine pairing and I must say, the chef created something absolutely wonderful. The wines to accompany the meal were brilliant, clever and very enjoyable choices, all of them. The menu starts strong with the beautiful, marinated prawn and a delicious bisque sauce. Then you have the zucchini dish, like spring itself, fresh, happy and surprisingly complex. The following seabass confit with puff pastry is truly rich and indulgent, slightly sweet and extremely flavourful. Next came the bluefin tuna tataki, lovely and elegant, the combination with the celeriac and cucumber sauce works perfectly. Afterwards we had the loin of lamb, an other great dish, plated beautifully. That left only the dessert, sweetcorn panna cotta with white chocolate and tahini, smart and joyful, an amazing way to end the meal. It's difficult to pick a highlight since all of the menu is brilliantly thought out and very consistent, executed with obvious skill and care. However I can say that at least for me, the zucchini and the seabass confit are impossible to beat. I can wholeheartedly recommend this menu and restaurant to anyone hoping to enjoy a fantastic meal for a special occasion.

This is a great restaurant! I loved spending hundreds of dollars to still be hungry after and then I enjoyed staying for hours, drinking wine, and talking about myself and my wealth with my mistress. I love pretending I know whats in the dishes so my mistress is impressed and turned on. Come here if you are a pretentious wealthy art dealer you’ll love the vibe

We arrived at Restaurant Schneiderei on Friday at 18:00, right as they opened, hoping for a quieter dining experience, which turned out to be the case. Our evening began with a warm welcome from the enthusiastic host, setting the perfect tone. Seated at a window table, we opted for the Tasting Menu and engaged in a discussion about wine pairings. While the wine selection wasn't extensive, our host expertly guided us through the options, allowing us to sample different varieties. Our culinary journey commenced with starters of beautifully seared scallops atop a jus, generously adorned with caviar, paired with Welshriesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The following course featured foie gras in a creamy soup infused with raspberry vinegar. A standout dish was the expertly crafted pasta, enhanced with lemon, butter, and chili, crowned with a perfectly seared salmon, providing a delightful contrast with its slightly undercooked center. Transitioning to a fruity Grenache with balanced acidity and tannins, we savored the Wagyu meat, flame-torched to perfection, accompanied by glace and mushrooms, followed by a succulent tenderloin served with potato pave and béarnaise foam. We concluded our culinary adventure with espresso, a delightful panna cotta for my partner, and a hazelnut cream adorned with crumble and chocolate cake. We will come again :-D

Very good restaurant. The sauces, the venison, the scallops, the tang of the mashed potatoes were all perfect. I would appreciate more fresh vegetables and creativity in presentation, but others photos look promising. I would come again!

Food is nice but the price is too high for what it is. We ordered one menu at 85€ and could feel that the waitress wasn’t happy with only one of us ordering the set menu (Thursday evening). We added two main courses as we wanted to try different food. Overall, only the beef was interesting, other meals weren’t surprising.

I was there on Saturday evening and was really looking forward to the evening, especially because of all the wonderful reviews. The starters were very tasty. For the main course we had the vegetable lasagna. Unfortunately this didn't taste good at all. In terms of consistency, it was totally mushy/mushy and didn't taste like anything; except for one burnt note. When we gave the feedback to the waitress all they said was that it would be passed on to the kitchen. That's it. I don't usually write Google reviews because I prefer the personal conversation/feedback. In a restaurant of this type, I expect better handling of criticism. That was a very disappointing experience. I wouldn't come back. The ambience was ok. There was no background music at all and so all the guests whispered.

Almost Michelin star cuisine without being fancy. Imaginative (with) new combinations but always with an eye for the bigger picture. Very impressive, the tailoring simply makes you happy. Service unpretentious but with ethos and joy. Never experienced such a combination. Really very good!

Our visit for four took place on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was completely empty except for two tables. Despite a reservation and an empty restaurant, we were put in the farthest corner. I would like to see better coordination and responsiveness to guests making reservations. One person in our group didn't drink alcohol and unfortunately there was no alternative to wine, or he wasn't offered anything except water. In this price range and in this category of fine dining, I expect a dedicated and guest-focused concept. No alternative to wine accompaniment is a NoGo! Despite the restaurant being almost empty, the service was only mediocre. Very nervous service, too excited, stringy, poor presentation. You should definitely work on this! Here too, in this price category, I expect great, energetic, imaginative and always attentive service. We paid almost 600 euros for 4 people and I know many better examples in Berlin in this category. Price/performance is not right. The food was also just okay for the price. The prawns had a strange consistency - I would reconsider the dish - the mixture of tartar and bone marrow is not to everyone's taste. Overall, we lacked a little more dedication, attention to detail, no suggestions for the aperitif, no specials, not a good presentation, that certain something was missing and unfortunately it doesn't entice you to come back.

Me and my partner dine a lot and by a lot I mean traveling away just to eat sometimes. Rarely we’re left speechless with how incredible was a meal. The dinning experience at schneiderei was one of those times. Amazing 6 courses tasting menu (not including the most amazing amuse bouche) Wine pairing was so creative and interesting too. Hosted by the great restaurant manager/sommelier Pola. A must visit little gem.

The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed it. The zucchini starter was phenomenal- innovative and full of favours. Atmosphere was also nice and cosy. Unfortunately we had to wait more than one hour between the Appetizer and the main course…. The worst was how the manager was looking like she was having the worst time of her life. Not a single smile throughout the 3 hours we were there. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it really made us feel unwelcome. The young gentleman and lady were lovely though.

We were so positively surprised by this little place. The food is outstanding on the Berlin restaurant scene. I truly don’t understand how they don’t have more recognition. The service was amazing as well. We loved wine recommendations from our waitress, she really knew a lot about the wines! Decor and the vibe also on point. Wow!!! What an amazing little place. Had the spring tasting menu with 6 glasses wine pairing. As super foodies me and my wife agreed that that went straight up to our top 3 dinner experiences EVER!!! (Including Michelin star rated restaurants) A real must for dining and wining lovers. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in Berlin. Perfection.

Among the top 10 restaurants I’ve eaten at in Berlin, with that feel when you’re enjoying a delicious bite only to notice that there’s at least one other surprising taste hiding in it. I especially recommend the Norwegian scallop and white asparagus soup and the sweet corn panna cotta with white chocolate ganache. But if you miss the spring menu, try to catch them anyway, it’s worth your while!

Unser Besuch im Restaurant und das Probiermenü hat uns nicht vollkommen überzeugt. Die Weinbegleitung war hervorragend. Die meisten Gänge (fast alle waren vegetarisch) waren sehr gut, aber nicht alle. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war doch kühl. Unser Hunger war am Ende nicht gestillt. Insgesamt fand ich den Preis zu hoch.

Sehr gute gehobene und kreative Küche, freundlicher Service! Meine Frau und ich waren gerne dort. Portionen eher klein, aber bei solchen kreativen Restaurants ist das immer so und man muss eben 2-3 Gänge bestellen. Das Restaurant war nicht sehr voll. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass es laut wird, wenn es voll ist, überall sind glatte Wände, Decken usw., die den Schall reflektieren.

In der Schneiderei steht eindeutig der Genuss im Vordergrund. Während die Einrichtung eine karge Gemütlichkeit ausstrahlt, wird einem sehr freundlich ein kulinarischer Genuss auf dem Teller präsentiert. Hochwertig und in dem Kiez einzigartig. Im Gesamtpaket sehr entspannt und etwas Besonderes.

Mein zweiter Besuch in der Schneiderei ist mit dem Ersten leider gar nicht vergleichbar. Service und die Qualität des Essen haben leider extrem nachgelassen, was sehr, sehr schade ist. Wir sind gekommen wegen der guten Bewertungen und des Menüs. Die guten Bewertungen können wir nicht nachvollziehen. Essen und Weinbegleitung waren unterdurchschnittlich. Wir hatten im 2. Gang Languste, als Ersatz gab es 2 Mini-Shrimps, die trocken waren; ohne vorherigen Hinweis oder Entschuldigung für die Menüänderung. Die Atmosphäre ist in Ordnung, passt gut in den Prenzlauer Berg. Restaurant ist recht laut, die Kellnerinnen waren kaum zu verstehen. Insgesamt trifft das Restaurant nicht die Erwartungen, was das gute Marketing verspricht.

Ein super feines kleines Restaurant mit internationaler Besatzung und wirklich feiner Küche, raffiniert und mit hohem Anspruch. Leider zum Samstag fast leer.. Da wünsche ich dem Team mehr Zuspruch - es lohnt sich wirklich!!!

I had a lovely experience at Schneiderej last week. My boyfriend speaks German and I prefer English, the waitress effortlessly switched. We went for the tasting menu and got served swiftly without feeling rushed. A lovely atmosphere was honed through the candle light, dried flowers and Chet Baker. And now THE FOOD. Absolutely delicious and left feeling full. We took the 3 wine pairing, but it was quickly finished so would recommend the 6.

Przemiła międzynarodowa obsługa, doskonałe zorientowana w temacie podawanych dań. To wszystko przy dobrej, nienachalnej muzyce we wnętrzu trochę w stylu krakowskiego Kazimierza. Naprawdę warto tam zajrzeć i zjeść coś pysznego. Ode mnie 10/10 i tak trzymać!!🌛

Wspaniała restauracja, jedzenie rewelacyjne, obsługa bardzo profesjonalnie opowiada o każdej potrawie, jest miła i uprzejma. Klimatyczne wnętrze z oryginalnymi, klasycznymi krzesłami. Świetna muzyka, głównie jazz i jego okolice. Polecam ten lokal i na pewno będąc w Berlinie będę go odwiedzał.

Wat een lekkere plek. Aan (fijn) eten geen gebrek ik dit deel van de stad... maar als het net iets beter en verfijnder mag zijn dan is dit de plek. Hoogstaande moderne keuken met klassieke invloeden en hier en daar een Oosterse en Mediterraanse twist... echt lekker... kundig en vriendelijk personeel... eenvoudige wijnkaart maar uitgelezen selectie die bij het eten past... kortom: top. Met talentvolle kok die eigenlijk een klinkende referentie verdient in elke gids en overzicht van culinair Berlijn... Prijsindicatie krijg je pas nadat je je hebt laten verleiden door het aanlokkelijke menu op de borden buiten, maar dat is muggenziften na een heerlijke avond...

Also wir waren heute Abend in der Schneiderei essen . Als wir ankamen wurden wir freundlich empfangen leider nur in Englisch aber ok. Die Vorspeise war geschmacklich in Ordnung frisches Brot mit Kräuterbutter . Wir bestellten den Fisch / das Lamm sowie den Kohl . Das Essen kam in ordentlicher Zeit . Jedoch was uns präsentiert wurde sah eher aus wie eine Vorspeise…. Nein es waren die Hauptgerichte . Der Gedanke wo ist der nächste Dönerladen …. Das Essen war lauwarm bis kalt und kam nicht in einem Flow . Wohlgemerkt waren wir die einzigen Gäste …. Geschmacklich für diesen Preis nicht wirklich das Was ich erwartet habe . Nachtisch hab es auch noch Ja es war tatsächlich größer als die Hauptgänge … Als die Rechnung kam waren es 170 euro . Wth habt ihr euch gedacht ….. Also gebt euer Geld woanders aus …. Definitiv nicht überzeugend und den Preis nicht wert . Preis Leistung stehen in keiner Relation.. und noch was die Toiletten sind naja …. Renovierungsbedürftig … in so einem hochpreisigem Restaurant ein no Go . Deshalb einen Stern ….

Wir haben ein wirklich schönes Abendessen mit einer Gruppe von Freunden genossen. Das Tasting-Menü war sehr lecker und spannend, mit reichen Aromen und interessanten Kombinationen. Guter Service. Tolle Stimmung. Ich kann diesen Ort wärmstens empfehlen.

Wir haben das Menü gewählt und dazu eine Flasche Wein bestellt. Das Essen war wirklich gut und ansprechend angerichtet. Aber das darf man bei dem Preis des Menüs auch erwarten. Die Speisekarte war auf englisch, die Mitarbeiterin an unserem Tisch sprach kein Deutsch. Ich weiß, das ist nun chick in Berlin, doch meinen Erwartungen entspricht es nicht. Der Service als solcher war freundlich, passte jedoch nicht zum Preisniveau. Ich erwarte z.B. den Wein zu probieren, bevor er eingeschenkt wir. Ebenso erwarte ich, dass die Espressomaschine nach dem Essen noch eingeschaltet ist und nicht um 21 Uhr der Stecker gezogen wird. Ich denke nicht, dass ich hier noch eimal Gast sein werde.

Probiermenü: Höchste Qualität der Produkte, optimale Abstimmung im Geschmack, freundlicher, schneller Service, 3-Gang-Weinbegleitung sehr harmonisch, Preis angemessen, wir sind begeistert und kommen definitiv wieder.

Wir haben reserviert, doch das Restaurant war zu. Irgendwann später am Abend kam die Stornierung der Reservation an. Das geht gar nicht.

Großartiges Service, Essen exzellent. Endlich ein Lokal in Berlin in dem für das Geld auch angemessene Dienstleistung erbracht wird. Tolle Kellnerinnen mit Humor, freundlich. Spitzen Weine. Schönes Ambiente. Wenn man jemanden schön ausführen will ideal. Tasting-Menü mit Weinen. Einziger Minuspunkt: es war sehr kalt in dem Lokal.

Eine große Enttäuschung. Mehr als durchschnittliches Essen für unverständlich überdurchschnittliche Preise. Karte und Service nur englischsprachig, Ambiente bemüht, Stühle und Tische erstaunlich ungemütlich.

First impression of the decor is very Berlin. Rustic. I've rarely been to a restaurant where all the chairs are not matching and tables are wobbly and old BUT, again, totally charming. Service was great. Friendly and professional eventhough it was one waiter for the whole floor on a busy Saturday night. We tried the tasting menu for 68 euros per person for 6 courses since it was our first time and we wanted to not fuss over what to over a la Carte. It was delicious! It's European style but with some fusion influences. The menu was a great mix of soup, fish, meats and veg. Portions were great. Not too small and not too big. We left satiated. The wine list isn't too extensive but the waiter is more than happy to offer you to try before purchasing if you aren't sure, which was nice. Prices for the wine by glass and bottle are pretty fair. Definitely will revisit.

The atmosphere is nice and the food is good, but a bit overpriced. Especially the starters that are really tiny are quite expensive for what they are.

I’ve had one of the best dinners I’ve had in this town at SCHNEIDEREI. We treated ourselves to the six course tasting menu. Unlike what it says online, it’s €68 not €58, but for the quality of the cooking that’s still good value. The food isn’t complicated, but has incredible depth of flavour, there wasn’t a single dish that was ‘meh, every ingredient was treated with care, everything was delicious. The dining room is simple and cozy and the service was lovely. It seems like they change their menu regularly, which is great, but because I can’t wait to go again and try more dishes from this creative kitchen. I’ve had so many meals in this town that were instantly forgettable, so this place is a real gem.

Went for NYE and their 5 course plus wine pairing menu. Loved every course, especially the sirloin and venison, which just melted in the mouth. The wines were amazing, too, and were perfectly paired to each course. Great atmosphere with changing art on the walls, and the friendliest and caring staff. Looking forward to coming back!

We spent New Year's Eve in Schneiderei and what an end to the year it was! Extraordinary five course menu, friendly and welcoming service, great atmosphere in general. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home. Check it out if you’re looking for casual vibes with amazing, refined food!

We went for the NYE prefix menu & we’re fairly disappointed. The portions were so small & we both were so hungry after the meal we had to get kebab. Maybe the regular menu is better, but we were pretty disappointed.

We had the tasting menu. Every dish was enjoyable except the prawns were too spicy. At times it was hard to see the food since the lighting is so dark. The waitress was very distracting as they set new napkins and cutlery each time and had to move around my chair also her nails were distracting. Wine pairing was pretty good and I liked the wine glasses.

Das ist besser , leckerer , ideenreicher , vielseitiger als es auf den ersten Blick scheint. Besser essen geht kaum .

Haben nur sehr seltenen Berlin so gut gegessen. Haben uns für das Menü mit der Weinbegleitung entschieden. Und jeder Gang war ausgezeichnet. Ausgezeichneter und sympathischer Service. Ein echter Geheimtipp (noch), da es versteckt in oberen Teil der Dunckerstraße liegt. Wir haben es nur durch Zufall gefunden. Unbedingt besuchen!!!

Hatten einen schönen Abend in der Schneiderei. Entschieden haben wir uns für das Tasting. Essen war super lecker und der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Ich freue mich bereits auf den nächsten Besuch.

Eine 24€ Wurst, zwar selbstgemacht und lecker, aber satt wird man hier definitiv nicht... Personal ist freundlich aber auch ein bisschen verpeilt. Und der Raum ist super laut, Unterhaltungen sind anstrengend. Auf der einen funktionierenden Toilette gibt es kein Desinfektionsmittel... Beim dritten Stern ist viel guter Wille dabei...

Ein Restaurant, welches durch durchläufige Exzellenz, begeistert. Ich hatte heute die Ehre in dem Feinrestaurant "Schneiderei" ein Tasting Menü, welches ganze sechs feinsäuberlich ausgearbeitete Gänge beinhaltet, zu probieren. Dazu gab es fantastischen Wein. Dieser wurde uns sogar von der Bedienung empfohlen. Auch sonst sind Service und Chef ausgesprochen freundlich und haben definitiv Ahnung davon was sie tun. Das wird nicht mein letzter Besuch gewesen sein. Einfach perfekt.

Leider war der Besuch in der letzten August-Woche in diesem „Restaurant“ eher unterirdisch. Einige Mitarbeiter waren durchaus freundlich. Keine Prüfung nach der 3-G-Regel. Die Wartezeit, bis das Essen auf dem Tisch stand, betrug ca. 100 Minuten. Einige Gerichte der Karte waren aus. Die Portionen waren äußerst mikro. Einige gingen total hungrig wieder heim und hatten am nächsten
Tag zudem noch Verdauungsprobleme. Die Akustik hier steht einer gepflegten Unterhaltung deutlich im Wege. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis: Kleinste Portionen und hoher Preis. Ein weiterer Besuch in diesem Lokal wird eher nicht geplant.

Wir waren sehr begeistert von den Abend in der Schneiderei. Das Degustationsmenü war fantastisch und die Weinbegleitung dazu hat gezeigt, das dieses Restaurant in der obersten Liga Berlins mitspielt. Noch dazu eine sehr nette, persönliche Atmosphäre. Kurzum: Ein riesen Gewinn für den Helmholtzkiez!

I was lucky to find this restaurant during a recent work trip to Berlin. Every detail was considered and the entire experience was a pleasure for my senses, from the food (we got the tasting menu) and wine to the music, ambience and helpful and knowledgeable staff. I have some dietary requirements and they went above and beyond, not just to accommodate me, but to share insights into all of their food providers and farms! It's tastefully decorated with a fabulous selection of ceramics and it was really good value for money. Can't wait to go back!

Das Ambiente ist typisch für Prenzlauer Berg: leger, aber nicht unbedingt schön. Der Innenraum ist extrem laut, dass es schwer fällt, dem Gespräch des Gegenübers zu folgen. Wir wurden beim Betreten nicht nach 3-G gefragt, was uns stark wunderte und auch etwas Unsicherheit hinterließ. Die Gerichte sind geschmacklich gut, aber nicht herausragend. Es fehlte die Variation (Salat-Marinade war stets ähnlich). Die Präsentation ging leider stark unter, da die Teller eine intensive Musterung haben. Schade. Die Portionen waren recht klein und machten trotz 6-Gänge nicht satt. Die Zeit zwischen den Gängen war definitiv viel zu lang. Das Service war leider unterdurchschnittlich. Eine junge Dame reichte stets über den gesamten Tisch, obwohl sie nur einen Schritt auf meine Seite hätte machen müssen. Weinservice war gänzlich nicht vorhanden. Für den aufgerufenen Preis eine Kleinigkeit, die man erwarten dürfte. Auch wenn sich (vermutlich der Restaurantleiter) mehrfach für die lange Wartezeit entschuldigte, war es in Summe ein Abend, den wir so nicht wiederholen.

Kurz gesagt, Essen zum Teil gut (Rib-eye Steak sehr gut), jedoch deutlich überteuert. Service freundlich, aber unerfahren und etwas ungeschickt. Ambiente mit Berliner Kneipen Interieur. Sehr dunkel und extrem hellhörig bzw. laut, eine Konversation ist in diesem Umfeld sehr anstrengend. Die Portionen sind klein (Amuse Gueule Größe, z.B. die Lasagne bzw. alle Vorspeisen), sodass man am Ende hungrig nach Hause geht. Leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Ansich ein hübscher Laden. Service aufmerksam, Ambiente typische Berlin. Das Essen war okay, aber nicht ansatzweise den Preisen gerecht. Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen viel zu lang. Kann man machen, muß man aber nicht...

Das war ganz gut, aber nicht mehr. Service nicht schlecht, nicht gut. Spricht kaum. Im 58€-Menu möchte ich zumindest einen Besteckwechsel zwischen Fisch und Fleisch, eine vernünftige Serviette und einen bequemen Stuhl, aber vielleicht bin ich zu spiessig. Speisen: erst einmal: insgesamt zu wenig. Auch alles was teurer ist besonders wenig, einzige Sättigung erfolgt durch Brot in verschiedenen Varianten. Zwei Gerichte zu säuerlich, Crostini verbrannt, zu vorsichtig gewürzt sodass eher Langeweile eintritt, dafür zu teuer und zu wenig. 25g im „Hauptgang“ etwa (Kabeljau). Lasagne kalt. Wein mittelmäßig und AB 28€/Flasche…. Problem: wenn man die Karte liest, wird ein Spannungsbogen und eine Erwartung aufgebaut, auch bzgl. des Preises. Und dann ist man enttäuscht, dass „nur“ oberer Durchschnitt kommt, der nicht mal sättigt. Manchmal ist weniger mehr, aber mal ist weniger auch weniger….

Nette Bedienung, nett angerichtet, jedoch stimmte das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis überhaupt nicht.
