Beautiful castle setting with a very cozy atmosphere. It's popular, so reservations are recommended. We managed to find a spot for two for coffee and cake. The cake was delicious! :) There's plenty of parking. In summer, the lovely beer garden is highly recommended. Checking the opening hours beforehand is advisable.

Following a funeral in the woodland cemetery, we went to the inn. The service was very friendly, the drinks arrived quickly and reliably, the location was unique, and the atmosphere was outstanding. However, the braided yeast bread we had ordered beforehand was rather bland. The bakery that supplied it should really reconsider their recipe for this traditional pastry.

Today there was an Advent market in the castle courtyard. The Hummelwiese Hirschau stand was fantastic, and the food and drinks were delicious.

I was just there for coffee. Okay, it was 4:30 pm and they're open until 5:00 pm. But not offering any cake half an hour before closing is outrageous. And only accepting cash is so outdated these days.

Very expensive for a beer garden

Unfortunately, there was nothing at 3:30 p.m., probably because of the nice weather.

Delicious food and fast service...even though it was busy, everything was on the table within 15-20 minutes.

Hohenentringen used to be a great destination where you could quench your thirst and hunger at a reasonable price. It's still a great destination, but the affordable fare is a thing of the past. That's a shame, because the location and atmosphere would be suited to down-to-earth, inexpensive snacks. You don't need a roast beef for €33, and you don't need a bratwurst to cost almost €18. Add to that an unfriendly sign in the beer garden stating that bringing food outside is prohibited. It's a shame, and it shouldn't be that way.

Swiss sausage salad looks quite good but unfortunately with little taste no salad dressing and no oil

The food tasted OK, but nothing special. The portions were large enough to fill you up. The prices are a bit too high for my taste (about 10%). I wouldn't drive here specifically to eat, but if you're in the area, you can stop in without hesitation.

Unfortunately, at many tables, you can now only view the menu via QR code and pay by phone. This makes it impossible to ask questions, get recommendations, or quickly reorder. It's very impersonal, like McDonald's. Plus, a liter of water costs almost €10. This development is a real shame, as the food and the location are great.

Very nice beer garden and friendly service. We sat at a table where you can only order online. The ordering process was straightforward, and we paid with PayPal. The drinks were brought really quickly, although the food took a little longer. We enjoyed the food. The only drawback was that there was no filling side dish included; you have to order that separately, which, of course, is reflected in the price.

Our cycling efforts were rewarded. A beautiful destination. Kudos to the food and service. Finally, a salad without pre-made sauce. Restrooms were impeccable despite the crowds.

Very nice beer garden and restaurant. It was really fun to eat and have a drink there. Unfortunately, it's very expensive. The food is delicious, but charging €21 to €23 for simple dishes like meatballs with fries or pork neck with fries is outrageous. A €5 bottle of fruit juice is simply unacceptable.

A lovely destination, with a great view and good food. But: poor service with opening hours and payment systems. Some only accept QR codes and credit cards; no debit cards or cash payments are accepted. There have been no bike racks for years, but there are signs indicating where bikes should not be parked.

We were seated at a table, ordering only by phone, and we didn't have a credit card with us, so we couldn't order! We couldn't order manually because we were at the wrong table. Staff were unfriendly and unable to complete our order. I won't be visiting this restaurant again. I don't recommend it.

Great location with a beautiful view in the heart of the Schönbuch region. Depending on your seating, you can order drinks and food using a barcode (via smartphone or with the staff). A barcode order for just two coffees and two cakes (a whopping €20) was not possible due to sudden technical problems on the part of the restaurant staff. They assured us that the ordering issue would be resolved immediately. After waiting for almost an hour without any information, we decided to move to a vacant table with waitress service, where the service was prompt and friendly. However, there is much room for improvement in the communication during the ordering process.

A beautiful courtyard with a stunning view. We were there for coffee and cake. Very delicious homemade cakes. Reasonably priced. However, the prices for the main courses are extremely high. A meatball with a side dish for €25?? You can order directly at the beer benches and also pay in cash. In the area with the tables and chairs (the nicer part), everything is only possible via app and credit card.

It was too cold, and unfortunately, you could only eat outside. But the food and service were very good.

Very nice place to stop after a visit to the Friedwald

Unfortunately, there's no food outside. I understand the distinction between the restaurant and the bar, but at least red sausage or fries would be a welcome addition and would certainly keep customers coming back. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the restaurant doesn't offer good value for money. The food is okay, but the prices are rather high. The restaurant is very noisy when it's moderately busy. The beautiful view could certainly be made much more effective.

A very nice beer garden with a great view. I can't say anything about the food. Unfortunately, the owners are a bit inflexible. We wanted to hold a memorial service there (because of the proximity to the FriedWald). Since it was lunchtime, they declined and told us we could only eat à la carte.

Great view, but disappointing concept. The beer garden area only allows QR payment via smartphone – neither cash nor cards are accepted. In the rest of the area, all the tables were empty, but supposedly reserved. When I asked, employees explained that I could only pay with my phone or sit down at one of the few already occupied tables. No consideration, no welcome. I left frustrated.

Every time I’ve been here the food was excellent. The only downfall is they don’t accept credit cards. Only cash or ec card. The surrounding area is great to go on a trip and the views are phenomenal.

I can't say anything about the food. Drinks are ordered via mobile phone and paid for directly by credit card. Despite the beer garden being full, we were served quickly. The view is great and the area is great for hiking.

Very nice service! The food is delicious and the portions are large, unfortunately you have to pay extra for ketchup and mayonnaise, which I found a bit strange! Orders are not stored reliably and then you don't have your own table when you arrive, so always order by phone! Unfortunately, this doesn't always work online! Oh yes and there are no Maultaschen on Sunday either, what a shame!

You can park directly in front of the castle. The economy is on the first floor, without an elevator. The atmosphere is quite rustic, the service is very attentive and the food is delicious. The location of the castle and the beer garden are great. It's worth making a reservation. We'd love to come back.

Beautifully located, with a great view of the valley. We had reserved a table in the beer garden for 8 people, but were there almost 3/4 hour early (after visiting the Friedwald)... it wasn't a problem at all, but we were still able to take a seat and order. From onion roast to meat cakes, lentils with spaetzle and vegetarian spinach dumplings, everything was very tasty and plentiful, the outdoor kitchen (very good idea!) was quick, the waitresses were also very nice! And there was also cider or cider spritzer, what more could you want 👍🏻

Wanted to eat at Hohenentringen Castle today. We called in advance and wanted to reserve a table for 8 p.m. We were told on the phone that we didn't need to make a reservation for two people and that we should come along. When we arrived at 8pm we were told the restaurant closes at 8pm. We drove there from Reutlingen and felt offended. We are a little surprised why a restaurant closes at 8 p.m. on the weekend.

Nice location but the prices are not for normal people. A packaged ice cream that is available in a pack of 5 in the supermarket for the same price is always cheaper than water. Unfortunately, that's just because the water is so expensive. The portions won't fill you up and then you don't need to make a sausage salad so expensive that I could buy three kebabs of it. Sure, the ambience is nice, but once you've seen the few square meters, there's no more. Unfortunately more disappointment than anything else as I didn't inherit enough for it

Nice restaurant in a historic castle. The beer garden directly in front of the castle offers a large number of seats and plenty of shade in summer. The food tasted good and the wait wasn't too long. The only problem was the "simultaneous serving" of the food for five of us, but that was bearable.

Oh well. In terms of price, you have to be a high earner to be happy here. At least there was a small dish that was affordable for the student budget. The cake is also affordable. The beer selection is extremely limited. The must tasted like vinegar and wasn't good at all. The wild potatoes and especially the dip that went with them were excellent. There are a lot of staff and you are served quickly.

Beautiful castle with ambience. Great outside seating area with garden tables and a beautiful view of the valley. Interior rather rustic but also authentic in the design of 1900. A touch of the past but still with a charming style and not full of old utensils. I find it very pleasant. The food is good, home-style with good portions and very tasty. If you want to combine it, there are beautiful forest paths and field paths.

Great food, even though it's such a big restaurant. There were six of us there and we were all thrilled. We were in the beer garden and actually expected less good food. There was no warmed-up ready-made food, as is unfortunately so often the case in beer gardens, but rather lovingly prepared food. 😄

A super nice location with a great beer garden and always worth a visit. But: in my opinion the prices for the food are too high - also for the fact that some of the food tastes bland. Swabian food like Maultaschen should at least have character, but they don't taste like anything. No spice, no hint of spinach or the sausage meat have a home there in terms of taste. The salad dressing and green salad are very tasty. The potato salad prepared without passion. The lentils aren't even Swabian lentils and the taste is rather bland. Why I emphasize this: for the prices that are charged there for such a meal, I personally expect passion and culinary art, otherwise you feel ripped off... The service was good and friendly.

Here you can sit outside very nicely

No heart for children: we arrived completely wet after a bike ride with 4 small children and the dining room was pretty empty, only a group of older people were there. Our children were not allowed to do anything and we were asked several times to keep quiet. We felt very uncomfortable. Even outside in the rain when the children were playing in a puddle, we were looked at unkindly. Well, really no stopping for our little one.

I can only recommend it was great there is a lot going on there you have to wait a bit for a seat. Will definitely come back
