It was too cold, and unfortunately, you could only eat outside. But the food and service were very good.

Unfortunately, there's no food outside. I understand the distinction between the restaurant and the bar, but at least red sausage or fries would be a welcome addition and would certainly keep customers coming back. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the restaurant doesn't offer good value for money. The food is okay, but the prices are rather high. The restaurant is very noisy when it's moderately busy. The beautiful view could certainly be made much more effective.

A very nice beer garden with a great view. I can't say anything about the food. Unfortunately, the owners are a bit inflexible. We wanted to hold a memorial service there (because of the proximity to the FriedWald). Since it was lunchtime, they declined and told us we could only eat à la carte.

Great view, but disappointing concept. The beer garden area only allows QR payment via smartphone – neither cash nor cards are accepted. In the rest of the area, all the tables were empty, but supposedly reserved. When I asked, employees explained that I could only pay with my phone or sit down at one of the few already occupied tables. No consideration, no welcome. I left frustrated.

Every time I’ve been here the food was excellent. The only downfall is they don’t accept credit cards. Only cash or ec card. The surrounding area is great to go on a trip and the views are phenomenal.

I can't say anything about the food. Drinks are ordered via mobile phone and paid for directly by credit card. Despite the beer garden being full, we were served quickly. The view is great and the area is great for hiking.

Very nice service! The food is delicious and the portions are large, unfortunately you have to pay extra for ketchup and mayonnaise, which I found a bit strange! Orders are not stored reliably and then you don't have your own table when you arrive, so always order by phone! Unfortunately, this doesn't always work online! Oh yes and there are no Maultaschen on Sunday either, what a shame!

You can park directly in front of the castle. The economy is on the first floor, without an elevator. The atmosphere is quite rustic, the service is very attentive and the food is delicious. The location of the castle and the beer garden are great. It's worth making a reservation. We'd love to come back.

Two pieces of cake, a cappuccino and a bottle of water cost a total of €19. Price performance ratios are not necessarily great. Cakes are at normal level

Beautifully located, with a great view of the valley. We had reserved a table in the beer garden for 8 people, but were there almost 3/4 hour early (after visiting the Friedwald)... it wasn't a problem at all, but we were still able to take a seat and order. From onion roast to meat cakes, lentils with spaetzle and vegetarian spinach dumplings, everything was very tasty and plentiful, the outdoor kitchen (very good idea!) was quick, the waitresses were also very nice! And there was also cider or cider spritzer, what more could you want 👍🏻

Wanted to eat at Hohenentringen Castle today. We called in advance and wanted to reserve a table for 8 p.m. We were told on the phone that we didn't need to make a reservation for two people and that we should come along. When we arrived at 8pm we were told the restaurant closes at 8pm. We drove there from Reutlingen and felt offended. We are a little surprised why a restaurant closes at 8 p.m. on the weekend.

Nice location but the prices are not for normal people. A packaged ice cream that is available in a pack of 5 in the supermarket for the same price is always cheaper than water. Unfortunately, that's just because the water is so expensive. The portions won't fill you up and then you don't need to make a sausage salad so expensive that I could buy three kebabs of it. Sure, the ambience is nice, but once you've seen the few square meters, there's no more. Unfortunately more disappointment than anything else as I didn't inherit enough for it

Nice restaurant in a historic castle. The beer garden directly in front of the castle offers a large number of seats and plenty of shade in summer. The food tasted good and the wait wasn't too long. The only problem was the "simultaneous serving" of the food for five of us, but that was bearable.

Excellent service despite maximum ownership. Well organized, food impeccable, drinks quick. It's a pleasure.

Oh well. In terms of price, you have to be a high earner to be happy here. At least there was a small dish that was affordable for the student budget. The cake is also affordable. The beer selection is extremely limited. The must tasted like vinegar and wasn't good at all. The wild potatoes and especially the dip that went with them were excellent. There are a lot of staff and you are served quickly.

Beautiful castle with ambience. Great outside seating area with garden tables and a beautiful view of the valley. Interior rather rustic but also authentic in the design of 1900. A touch of the past but still with a charming style and not full of old utensils. I find it very pleasant. The food is good, home-style with good portions and very tasty. If you want to combine it, there are beautiful forest paths and field paths.

Super beautiful garden restaurant

Great food, even though it's such a big restaurant. There were six of us there and we were all thrilled. We were in the beer garden and actually expected less good food. There was no warmed-up ready-made food, as is unfortunately so often the case in beer gardens, but rather lovingly prepared food. 😄

A super nice location with a great beer garden and always worth a visit. But: in my opinion the prices for the food are too high - also for the fact that some of the food tastes bland. Swabian food like Maultaschen should at least have character, but they don't taste like anything. No spice, no hint of spinach or the sausage meat have a home there in terms of taste. The salad dressing and green salad are very tasty. The potato salad prepared without passion. The lentils aren't even Swabian lentils and the taste is rather bland. Why I emphasize this: for the prices that are charged there for such a meal, I personally expect passion and culinary art, otherwise you feel ripped off... The service was good and friendly.

Here you can sit outside very nicely

No heart for children: we arrived completely wet after a bike ride with 4 small children and the dining room was pretty empty, only a group of older people were there. Our children were not allowed to do anything and we were asked several times to keep quiet. We felt very uncomfortable. Even outside in the rain when the children were playing in a puddle, we were looked at unkindly. Well, really no stopping for our little one.

I can only recommend it was great there is a lot going on there you have to wait a bit for a seat. Will definitely come back

Nice beer garden with unfortunately not so friendly staff. Okay, admittedly, we as a group of 10 people looked around for a free spot and found it. Two tables pushed together. Taken a seat. The service lady did not greet us. Just who allowed us to do this? Then the additional statement: I'm not coming to your house and just moving the furniture. Could have been discussed differently. Plus water for €4.80. Thanks for nothing.

Went there on a tour with our bikes, service was very friendly. The ambience and the beer garden invite you to have a nice coffee or something cool to drink. Unfortunately the prices are a bit overpriced (mineral water 4.80 euros) and juice horle 5 euros. We'd love to come back, but we'll only have one drink. To eat there is delicious warm food and snacks. Portions are sufficient, but unfortunately they are a bit overpriced. Sorry, I had to write that now.

Nice place for a rest during hiking! They also have hund water bars for dogs!

8€ for 0,3L Aperol is too much. The food was moderate at best, yet 5€ is more than one would pay at the Spa in Konstanz for double the portion. Honestly not worth it. Also, when one has limited space, maybe allow customers to take a drink away from the tables when those are occupied but one has already paid for the drinks. Apart from that, the view is amazing :)

Whether it's an outdoor terrace in spring/summer or indoors, it's a nice place to linger. The food tastes excellent, the service is friendly.

Were there for the first time. With our son, who is currently in a wheelchair. The weather was so nice and we wanted to have a drink outside. Because our son doesn't comes up the stairs We offered to get the drinks ourselves and bring them back, if necessary for a deposit. It is not possible was the answer. Despite understanding the lack of staff, it's not possible to be so inflexible. Inn should come from hospitality. A pity...

We were in the restaurant with our baby. As soon as she started crying, my husband took her out the door. A staff member rudely told (not asked) my husband to go into the courtyard because the baby crying would disturb the guests.

I think it's very nice there, especially when you park and go below. Even the dog is allowed in. It is very nice to visit this location with friends too. Very clock and cozy, you are served courteously. The food is delicious. It's always worth it.

Food service ambience - can't comment on that. Our visit failed because we had a reservation. The time was recorded incorrectly and we were told it was our problem. With 3 hungry children! Thanks for nothing.

It would be nice if the internet entry were updated regarding opening times. Then we wouldn't have driven there through the forest for free, like some other disappointed guests... Sorry, but that was really annoying

We stopped here in the afternoon after a hike and were very positively surprised. Great food, large portions and attentive service.

Went there for dinner with 6 people on Christmas Day. A small special menu for Christmas. Selection manageable. Good food at very reasonable prices. Extra requests not possible. Very unfortunate.

Beautiful old castle restaurant with good cuisine

Rustic, cozy and clean restaurant. Very nice atmosphere inside and outside the castle. Large portions of the food. I was there for a funeral in Friedwald, but I would come back at any time.

Schloss Hohentringen Ammerbuch ist ein beeindruckendes Schloss, das im 16. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde. Es befindet sich in der Gemeinde Ammerbuch im Landkreis Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg. Das Schloss ist von einer malerischen Landschaft umgeben und thront auf einem Hügel, wodurch es eine imposante Erscheinung hat. Es diente einst als Residenz der Grafen von Hohentringen und ist heute ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Touristen. Besucher können die gut erhaltenen Innenräume des Schlosses besichtigen und die Geschichte der ehemaligen Adelsfamilie erkunden. Immer ein lohnendes Ziel...auch gutes Essen, uns gefällts

Das beste am Schloss ist die Lage und die Aussicht über das Ammertal. Im Sommer kann man im schön angelegten Biergarten speisen. Im Winter sind die historischen Räumlichkeiten geöffnet, die gut im Schuss sind und echt was hermachen! Das Essen ist okay, der Most in Ordnung. Vor allem bei gutem Wetter ist das beliebte Ausflugsziel überlaufen und es ist schwierig direkt vor Ort einen Parkplatz zu bekommen.

Leider keine veganen Gerichte, keine pflanzliche Milch. Pommes waren gut, Salatsoße ist auch nicht vegan da sie mit fertig Pulver angerührt wird. Grüne Blattsalate mit Essig/öl waren immerhin frisch. Kartoffelsalat enthält Fleischbrühe, Karottensalat enthält Sahne. Nette Bemühte Kellner.

Arrogantes Personal - vermutlich Inhaber! Wir wollten für unseren Familienausflug einen Tisch reservieren. Haben zwei Tage vorab versucht immer wieder telefonisch anzurufen. Wurden immer vertröstet wegen zu viel Arbeit und dass man keine Notiz machen kann und man deshalb nochmal anrufen solle. Plötzlich war dann keiner mehr erreichbar obwohl lt. Öffnungszeiten noch offen. Am Folgetag dann Ruhetag. Haben es trotzdem tel. probiert und wurden auf eine arrogante Art und Weise darauf hingewiesen dass Ruhetag ist und auch die E-Mail-Reservierung nicht beachtet werden würde, da 3 Tage Vorlauf besteht. Wo gibts denn so was? Ich war schon oft dort aber sicher kein weiteres Mal!!!

Unfreundliche Chefin wollten bloß ein Kaffee trotz genügend Platz kein Angebot zum Sitzen Angeboten .. kinder haben ihr Eis bekommen ind auf nimmer wieder sehen !!

Sehr schöne Lokation mit gutem Service und lauschigen Plätzen unter Bäumen. Leider am Wochenende in der Regel sehr voll und dadurch weniger lauschig.

Bei herrlichem Sonnenschein die große Terrasse genossen. Wir sind durch den Schönbuch gewandert, es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit bis kurz das Schloss auf den Parkplatz zu fahren. Mostschorle oder Mostbowle sind hier Kult. Auch die Speisekarte ist nicht zu verachten. Von Linsen mit Spätzle und Saiten über Rostbraten bis zu Knödelvariationen wird hier viel leckeres geboten. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und fix.

Leider war das Wetter nicht ideal um draussen zu sitzen gemütlicher wäre es sicherlich drin gewesen. Leider gab es weder zum Kuchen noch zu den Pommes Frites Servietten.

War leider noch geschlossen als wir da waren.....aber Terrasse maChte einen guten Eindruck und man hat eine tolle Aussicht in die Umgebung 😄
