Zum wiederholten Male wurden wir sehr entnervt vom Chef bedient. Weil meine Freundin sich nicht schnell genug entschieden hat, wurden sogar die Augen verdreht. Unser letzter Besuch, echt schade. Location, Essen und Kaffee sind richtig gut.

Very cool café with an excellent breakfast. Rarely have I had such a good breakfast outside as I did here today. The breakfast Mona, Royal Highness and scrambled eggs with goat cheese was fantastic.

We had Kaiserschmarren and Käsespätzl. Both were super tasty👍🏻The staff was really very friendly! The atmosphere is really nice over two floors with comfortable seating. It was very busy on Saturday afternoon and therefore the waiting time was a little longer. The cleanliness in the toilets could be better.

Great local. Very stylishly furnished. The food is very tasty. There is both hearty Bavarian cuisine and meat-free cuisine - a lovingly created selection of dishes that covers a wide range and offers variety. The homemade lemonades are also great. There is a delicious selection of cakes if you just want a drink. In summer it's nice to sit outside. In winter it is very cozy, especially at the top. A highlight in Wuppertal.

I ate the Eggs Benedict here and unfortunately it was just okay - unfortunately the homemade hollondaise didn't taste like anything. The employee didn't seem to be in a particularly good mood that day either. As a first impression it was rather mixed.

The Bistro Schimmerlos is a real asset to our neighborhood. Since we live very close by, it is of course particularly great for us to have such an attractive location right around the corner. We love coming here, especially because of the food, which impresses us every time. The dishes are tastefully and attractively prepared – a real pleasure. The ambience of the bistro is also very inviting: cozy and just right for spending a relaxing moment. Unfortunately, the service keeps spoiling our visits, which is a shame. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff often leave something to be desired. An example of this was a visit where we had reserved a table for four people. When we arrived, a table was prepared for us that only had three chairs. According to our advice, an additional chair was brought, but the table was clearly too small for four people, which spoiled the experience a little. Such details give the impression that guests' needs are not fully taken into account. Other situations, such as forgotten orders or an unfriendly approach, also leave a negative impression. Precisely because we like the bistro so much, we think it's a shame that the service can't keep up with the quality of the food and the ambience. We hope that this criticism will be received as constructive advice. The Bistro Schimmerlos has great potential and with friendlier and better organized service could become a real favorite place - not only for us, but certainly for many other guests. As neighbors, we are happy to have such a beautiful bistro in the immediate vicinity. A very nice atmosphere to go out to eat. The architectural style in particular is pretty good. Nice and friendly employees. I can warmly recommend everyone to eat there in Wuppertal.

I had a very hearty breakfast here with a friend. The choice of food leaves nothing to be desired. The service was good, the staff very friendly. We'll definitely be back! A table reservation is recommended.

So nice there. Schimmerlos is my favorite deli. The location was formerly a shop from the 50s or 60s and many of the style elements have been preserved. The kitchen is modern home cooking, everything is delicious. You can also have a very good breakfast there. I love it.

Der Erfolg scheint den Angestellten und Inhaber zu Kopf gestiegen zu sein. Um etwas bestellen zu können, muss man nachdrücklich auf sich aufmerksam machen und bekommt noch unpassende Kommentare. Wir waren schon öfter hier gewesen, doch weitere Besuche kommen nicht in Frage.

We weren't directly in the Schimmerlos but "2 doors away" in the adjacent room as part of a small birth celebration. This room, but also the brief impression of the cafe itself, is quite spartan but comfortably furnished, and there were also various tables outside that were well attended (end of October!). The breakfast buffet was very good. Delicious rolls and a selection of bread, cheese, sausage, fish, spreads, Bircher muesli, scrambled eggs & bacon, there was really something for every taste. The hot drinks were also delicious, but some of them had to be brought over from “2 doors down” by the service (see above). But it worked fine. All in all a recommended location!

The food and service are A with stars. It's just that the volume is a little loud at times. The store is always full and the sound insulation is probably not the best. But there is always something. :-) All in all 🔝

Had breakfast here yesterday. I can highly recommend “Hearty”, the onion jam was perfect. Super attentive friendly service. We didn't make a reservation and were lucky to get a table 😄

On the positive side! I found the ambience very appealing, but that's about it for the positive side. I found the menu to be a complete disaster. 🫣 Far too much text, so that a mere mortal like me is overwhelmed by what he ordered. Maybe I'm slightly overwhelmed by the (....😏 ecological) concept of this gastronomy. The fact that only a certain fringe group can cope with it. My conclusion. This location was absolutely nothing for my family and I. But that's just me personal opinion.

Super nice café with outdoor seating, rustic furnishings and a very well thought-out breakfast menu. The prices are rather high for Wuppertal, but reasonable. The coffee was excellent! The only negative point: No card payment with Visa possible. Honestly very surprising in 2024.

Prices are alright. Perhaps a bigger portion would be great! The waiters are mostly youngsters without any experience in the service industry.

You can have a good breakfast here and the restaurant has a positive atmosphere. Price-performance was a bit too high. We paid around 50 euros for our breakfast with drinks.

Had breakfast yesterday and unfortunately it was very disappointing for us. The food was delicious, a bit expensive in comparison, service unfortunately not good at all. Food (breakfast) only came after half an hour. Later they forgot to bring anything else that had been added. It seemed like some of the waitresses were overwhelmed. There was also no apology for not bringing the forgotten item when we brought it up. Unfortunately, a friend of mine had similar experiences with the service. What a shame! Ambience and quality of food otherwise great. It's just a shame if you leave a lot of money there and the service just doesn't work. :/

Everything here is made with great attention to detail. The decor, the service and of course especially the food! You see, experience and taste it and feel very, very comfortable here. What Babsi & Michael and their employees have created here is a real gem and simply a gift for all of us. Thank you, dear ones! 😘

We were sitting in a little area on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, which was very nice! The food was delicious and of high quality. The staff in general is very friendly, however the waiter that day wasn‘t unfriendly but not very communicative. Thanks for the great food!

The food was very tasty. Price/performance is right. I had a broken jam jar with glass in the jam. Luckily I noticed it, otherwise it could have been very dangerous. Can happen. You have to do something about risk management ;) Put jam in a bowl instead of in sealed jars. Ambiance. A little noisy, but normal with a good crowd. Service could be a little quicker, but everyone was very nice. Unfortunately you can't tip electronically? It's a bit of a shame. Luckily I still had a few euros in my pocket.

The fried chicken was excellent and was almost topped by the cake... Nice atmosphere, very nice service. Price-performance ratio for the quality of the food offered is absolutely top. It's an hour away, but we'd love to come back.

This was an amazing surprise. We were looking for a nice place that served vegan / vegetarian options to have a diner with a group of 7. While strolling around Wuppertal we stumbled across Schimmerlos. The warm light, authentic interior and live music gave as a very pleasant welkom once we entered the restaurant. The menu is comprised of different traditional “German” dishes mixed with new style cuisine. There are enough options for each and everyone. Everything from burgers, currywurst and schnitzel to vegan options like cauliflower wings. The ambiance is very cozy, it feels as if you’re sitting in your grandparents living room but with mix of medieval castle and a botanic glasshouse. The day we were there they had a gentleman playing live music on his guitar that really added to the experience. And to finish off: The prices are very reasonable! Don’t miss out while and visit Schimmerlos while in Wuppertal. I know we will if we ever come back!

Ein sehr alternatives Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Konzept, das die typisch deutsche Küche, vor allem aus dem Süden, hervorhebt und aufwertet. Viele überarbeitete Gerichte mit einer sehr häufigen Rotation der Speisekarte. Das Konzept der Hausmannskost ist dennoch in jedem Gericht präsent. Die Qualität der Speisen ist immer gut und gleichbleibend. Die Einrichtung ist sehr speziell und das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Meine Frau und ich sind treue Kunden geworden und wissen die Arbeit der Jungs sehr zu schätzen.

Eins der besten Cafés und Restaurants in Wuppertal - top mit extra Stern, update, noch ein Extra Stern für eine unvergleichlich schöne Ambiente und mega gutes Essen. Ihr seid ein Highlight in Wuppertal.

Ein schönes und vor allem gut besuchtes Lokal. Die Tische finde ich zu klein für 4 Personen und sie stehen eng beieinander. Die Preise würde ich als gehoben bezeichnen. Wenn die Ware wie beschrieben gekauft wird angemessen aber nichts für den kleinen Geldbeutel. Das Ambiente hat was jedoch war es einfach kalt. Es wurde zu wenig geheizt und wenn die Tür aufgemacht wurde kam ein richtig kalter Wind. Wir haben dort gefrühstückt und mussten doch sehr lange warten bis uns unsere Bestellung gebraucht wurde. Das Service Personal war jedoch durchgehend freundlich.

Sehr nettes Café im Zentrum von Wuppertal. Wir waren an einem warmen Tag da und konnten im Schanigarten unter der Markise sitzen. Es gibt verschiedene sehr gute Kuchen und eine interessante Getränkeauswahl. Andere Speisen haben wir nicht probiert. Es sah aber sehr gut aus auf anderen Tellern. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und was mir besonders gefiel, war die Innenausstattung. In dem Gebäude war früher ein Haushaltwarenladen und Teile wie das Treppengeländer sind noch erhalten. Superschön. Die Preise fand ich fair. Lage perfekt. Vegetarisch kann man sich hier auch ernähren. Von mir 10/10 für das Schimmerlos.

14.40 Uhr - Nochmal die Karte checken: Frühstück bis 15.00 Uhr. Top. Beim Versuch etwas zu bestellen, erstauntes Gesicht: "Frühstück? wieviel Uhr haben wir denn? Oh, mal sehen. Personal ist schon "weg"..." - "Oh, ja ok. Alternativen? Gibt es das hier denn noch.?" Belächelndes Nein. "Das hier?" Selbes belächelndes Nein. Uns wurde das Gefühl gegeben, als ob wir stören. Als ob wir uns die Frechheit rausnehmen, nach etwas zu fragen was da vor uns auf Papier gedruckt steht. Keine Kommunikation. Anstatt zu sagen: "Es gibt X und Y nicht, aber was ich euch anbieten oder empfehlen kann, wäre..." Aber nein. Wortkarge Verneinungen die uns nur weiter stochern lassen in den offensichtlich sehr eingeschränkten Möglichkeiten. Manche Menschen sind einfach nicht für den Service gemacht und der Typ mit den langen Haaren, in seiner ganzen Träg- und Blindheit, seinem zu leisen Sprechen und lethargischen Antworten ist privat bestimmt ein super Typ um 'nen Dübel zu rauchen und über Sun Ra zu reden, aber Talent um Menschen das Gefühl zu geben, willkommen zu sein und einen Laden mit eigentlich so viel Potenzial zu repräsentieren, ist leider nicht vorhanden. In meinem Laden wäre der Kollege nach 15 Minuten Probarbeiten wieder zuhause. Eigentlich mag ich den Laden, bzw. hab mehrmals probiert ihn zu mögen. Die Preise sind krass. 2 Weißwürste mit Brezel für 10 Euro. Keine Ahnung, aber meine bayrischen Freunde würde hier bestimmt nicht hingehen. Warum es in Wuppertal so schwierig ist, einfach mal frischen und cleveren Service zu erleben, da bleibe ich schimmerlos. Für Frühstück an einem Sonntag dann doch lieber Muluru. Der Serice ist da zwar auch Käse, aber dafür ist das Essen super.

Wir waren mit Freunden hier frühstücken, für normale Esser war es absolut ausreichend, alle sind satt geworden, ach ja, und lecker war es natürlich auch. Sonntags gibt's keine Mittagskarte, das ist etwas schade, aber gut. Und die Website ist sehr marginal aufgebaut, wenn man mehr Infos möchte, muss man anrufen. Ambiente ist cool! Service dauert manchmal etwas, aber ist noch nicht schlimm. Insgesamt sehr gemütlich und lecker, gerne mal hingehen! Es gibt auch vegane Gerichte ;-)

Meine Freundinnen und ich waren begeistert. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Das Frühstück einfach köstlich, die Auswahl so groß, dass ich mir ein bereits zusammengestelltes Angebot bestellt habe. Alles war lecker und ist definitiv nicht aus der Massenherstellung. Trotzdem sind die Preise human und absolut bezahlbar. Wir haben draußen gesessen, drinnen sieht es ungemütlich aus und alle Tische waren belegt. Ich freu mich jedenfalls aufs nächste Mal.

Der Service war top, das Essen ein Traum (selbst gute Esser waren zum Teil mit der Größe der wirklich sehr guten Portionen überfordert 😅) und die Location an sich ist überhaupt wunderschön! Habe bei der besten Kellnerin der Welt, nen Kaffe im Schimmerlos bestellt. Leichter Gang und flotte Sprüche, so eine Frau gehört nicht in die Küche. Guten Tag der Herr darfs noch etwas sein, warum schauen sie so verliebt drein? Gute Frau, der Service, ihr Geschäft, ist was mich gerade träumen lässt. Werter Herr, einen edlen klaren? der Wirt schenkt ein, deutet wortlos mein Begahren. Wünsche werden von den Lippen abgelesen was arbeiten hier doch für tolle Wesen. Als ich den Laden glücklich verließ, der Himmel türkis, ist es Paris? Ob nun Wupper oder die Seine, Schimmerlos est purement boheme.

Absolute Weiterempfehlung. Leckeres Essen (sowohl Frühstück als auch die Mittagskarte), toller Kaffee und freundlicher Service! Wir sind fast jede Woche da :)
