Quaint restaurant, with very good food and a fun atmosphere (especially behind the counter.

We ate there for the first time today. The staff was very friendly and flexible. The service was very good at the beginning, but after the meal it left something to be desired. You had to wait a long time. The food was very tasty and the portions were great for the money. One or two side dishes were a bit too salty. It would be great if you worked on these points. The ambience is great. At some point we'll come back and test again.

It was bombastic! We were 3 people and a 10 month old baby. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service staff as well. The chef was also super nice. I ordered the potato and carrot pancakes for my daughter. They were served in advance so I could chop it up for her and let it cool and then she could eat with us. The knuckle - absolute madness!!! Juicy, crispy, simply mega. I don't know when I last ate such a good knuckle. Not even in Bavaria, I would say. The duck was great too. The only “drawback” was the roast pork. Unfortunately the crust was limp because it was in the sauce and a good half of the meat was just fatty. Unfortunately the person didn't like it that much. On December 23rd We'll be back and I'm already looking forward to it :)

Unfortunately it has become something of a tourist trap

Would not recommend as a tourist or when visiting. Food was pretty good, nice classy german look & feel. However, the (presumed) owner was anything but friendly and made us feel anything but welcome. We spent 4 nights in Berlin, and this was our worst dining experience out of all of them (and unfortunately also the last)

Been there for the second time. The ambience is iconic. Real original Berlin pub. The food was disappointing this time. Same order but loss of quality within a year.

We were lucky and got a table for two without a reservation. In the Turtle, the motto is "eat like a mother" in a relaxed Berlin atmosphere! Super.

Sitting here right now and being thrilled. The food was super delicious! The meat is tender and the portion is large! Price - performance is absolutely right! Gabi served us and was friendly, quick and can at least speak the authentic Berlin dialect! Absolutely fits here! But for the tourists at the next table, English wasn't a problem either.

As Berliners, we were looking for a place where it was cozy and didn't charge tourist prices. We found the turtle and were thrilled by the ambience alone. Unfortunately, we only have time to have something to drink. We'll be back soon to eat there too. The menu read deliciously. By the way, the dark beer is extremely tasty

Open since 1936, this is a small restaurant serving typical German food, and very good it is too. We visited twice during our few days stay in Berlin. If you get the chance, it is definitely worth visiting. You won't be disappointed.

Typical restaurant with stylish furnishings. Traditional and fairly large menu, excellent choice of dishes and high quality. Fairly efficient service, average prices. Definitely a good choice for a relaxing evening with great food.

The food was actually good. However, we waited quite a long time for the food and when I briefly used the toilet, my food was simply taken away. So once and never again.

The Turtle is probably one of the classic old Berlin pubs, right on Kurfürsten-Damm / Uhlandstrasse. Classic Berlin service, Berlin beer. Go in, sit down, take a break. Always recommended.

AMAZING food and great service. If you’re in Berlin you must come here. The apple strudel was the best I’ve ever had.

The staff is unfriendly. The food was not delicious. When clearing food or serving it, he would mumble to himself and shake his head left and right, making unpleasant plagiarism. Most of the customers in the restaurant were Asians and the staff was very unkind to us.

Very nice restaurant discovered thanks to internet recommendations. We had dinner when we arrived in Berlin. I had a breaded escalope with mushroom sauce and roasted potatoes, it was excellent. For dessert, I opted for the apple strudel, which was equally delicious. The service was impeccable, I recommend if you are in Berlin nearby!

No leadership quality, no assertiveness from the skilled workers at AGH and 16 i. They actually have to be given tasks. But don't get any tasks. Employees leave without tasks. It can't be. Or?

Authentic food at average prices and normal service, definitely recommended

At first the service was quite nice and quick but after the meal we weren't asked for dessert or drinks, we just sat there and at some point we asked for the bill. The food was delicious, I ate everything, the meat was very tender but the food was quite spicy. There are very few tables outside and it's a bit more rustic inside. Good German cuisine

A place with traditional German cuisine. The dishes are tasty and it is certainly worth stopping by for a sausage, pork knuckle, wine or beer. The only drawback is the service, which is a bit rude (of course, I must point out that not all of the waiters are there) - if the idea is to be like in an inn, where the innkeeper knows best what you want to order or how much you can eat, then it's ok - I don't like this style I buy. Still, it's worth taking up the challenge and jumping into the meatloaf.

A classic kitchen in an attractive old-fashioned environment (warm wood and signed photos of artists). The service was friendly and smooth. We ate a roasted half duck and it was excellent: the skin was crispy, the fat melted away, the meat was tender. Plus a hefeweizen. We arrived at 6 pm and found another table, if you want to be sure, make a reservation, you won't regret it!

We can only recommend this place for cozy hours with delicious food.

It was truly the worst experience of my life. There were 4 of us and the waiter showed uncommon rudeness as he was in a hurry to take the orders, repeating it in a grumpy way. In addition to the waiters, the rest of the staff, including the owner, proved rude and unbearable. We ordered the boiled shank and the horror was immediately clear to our eyes. The meat was completely raw and you could tell by the bright red color and the blood that came out. Furthermore, the shank was full of boiled fat which was inedible. Noting this to the waiter, he not only limited himself to making fun of us by saying that the meat was red and bloody due to the supposed red salt (which doesn't exist) but he wanted to convince us by showing us ambiguous photos of other shanks and tried to intimidate us by passing constantly near our table and slamming the bill on the table forcefully. What can I say, an absolutely negative experience made worse by the teasing of the waiter who thought we were stupid like him. Stay away from us and don't come here because you will feel bad and they will steal your money. A shame!!!!!!!! I will attach the photo of the raw shank for anyone who wants to see the disgust this place and its dirty employees are capable of.

The food was good, prices at Kudamm level, the homemade meatballs were cevapcici size. But the mustard was plentiful and good. Currywurst and schnitzel were perfect. Reply to owner's reaction: Make the meatballs bigger and I'll come back. Update: July 2024 The wife and daughter enjoyed a delicious currywurst, I enjoyed the very tasty potato soup. Since the terrines were apparently all in the dishwasher, the opulent soup was served to me in a coffee cup, so I had to leave the restaurant hungry.

I felt very comfortable. Good, typical food. Kind and punctual service. Berlin is generally very expensive (around €30 per person per meal), but in this case I spent it willingly. Nice and characteristic environment. Thanks for the welcome!

The Turtle is a nice little inn near Ku-Damm. The food is hearty and delicious. The Alster is more like a beer, but that's okay. The service is typical tavern.

Such great hospitality and delicious food, along with a huge selection of numerous types of beer - and at very fair prices. If you're looking for something really authentic and Berlin-like at Ku'Damm, you've come to the right place!

Ordered Wiener Schnitzel with fries and pork knuckle. The schnitzels were very small (both together at most as big as DIN A5) with soggy breading without bubbles and bland fries, some of which were only lukewarm. The knuckle had a good crust and was tender. Unfortunately, the knuckle was poorly seasoned and the sauce was a bit watery. The service was polite but unfortunately a little unstoppable, so we couldn't complain about the food. When we paid, the disappointment was so noticeable that we weren't even asked if we were satisfied. A pity

Rustic and nice. The restaurant has character and the wood accent is very appealing. Food: I ordered crispy pork knuckle because it reminds me alot of the crispy pata back in the Philippines. It was indeed crispy but too salty for my taste. Maybe the dish is supposed to be like that because it is perfect with beer. Service: Very friendly and attentive staff. They even gave our child a straw for the apple juice for easy drinking. Atmosphere: Smoking is allowed outside so if you get bothered by second hand smoke, sit a bit inside to avoid it. I will do this next time. 😅

I recently visited Schildkröte and was thoroughly delighted by the authentic German experience. The cozy, rustic decor and friendly atmosphere made for a welcoming environment. The menu features classic German dishes that are both hearty and flavorful. I enjoyed the “Original Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb”, which was perfectly crispy. The “Hausgemachten Suppen” was a delicious start, and the “Warmer Apfelstrudel” for dessert was the ideal sweet finish. Service was prompt and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. The selection of German beers added a nice touch, perfectly complementing the meal. Overall, Schildkröte offers a genuine taste of Germany with fantastic food and great service. Highly recommended!

The food has no flavor, the waiters are unfriendly, and for 3 pieces of bread they charged us 4 euros extra, I don't recommend it at all.

We visited this cozy cafe-restaurant on the recommendation of one of our colleagues, and it completely met our expectations. The interior of the establishment is shrouded in an atmosphere of antiquity and vintage, which gives it a special charm. Muted music adds coziness and allows you to communicate calmly. Even though the cafe had plenty of empty seats both inside and on the terrace, the service was prompt and polite. German cuisine deserves special attention: excellent beer, flavorful sausages, perfect schnitzel, juicy steaks - every dish was prepared at the highest level. And the strudel for dessert was the perfect ending to our visit. This place is definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy authentic German cuisine and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back here again!

It's a very romantic place. On the wall hang the pictures of celebrities who may have since died. The food from the deep fryer is rich and the price-performance ratio is right. The service is perfectly friendly. This is the ideal place for an after-work beer in wet and cold weather! This was our second time here this year and we'll be back.

What a great Berlin restaurant. You feel completely comfortable. A super friendly service person behind the counter, laughed a lot. No rush from service, even when the store is full to capacity. It's a shame we couldn't watch football. Definitely going back next time I visit Berlin.

Have been to this wonderful restaurant probably 20 times. Every single time I get so full I see stars!!! Could be a connection with the beer and the drams... Anyway, I'm going to Berlin in May and I'm looking forward to another visit!!! Stand on Turtles!!❤️❤️

Quaint restaurant, great service, very good food

I came with two friends together, in the very beginning the servant arranged a corner table which could be "just fit" for three people. Several minutes later, one of us went to WC, and the waitress came to us to ask us to move to a smaller table because we had only two seated at the meanwhile. I said "we have three, not two", but she replied us very rude "you are two, so move there!". I protested continuously and finally the servant came, told the waitress that we have three, then she gave up to ask us to move. What a terrible service here!

A historic place where you can eat excellent typical food and drink a good beer. Very recommended, but arrive early because it is not easy to find a seat.

On a side street from Ku'damm, excellent food, delicious KöPi, friendly and fast service.

Here you feel welcome and noticed as a guest. The food is not necessarily cheap but the price corresponds to the quality of the food and the service. I'm happy to give this 5 stars and give it a clear recommendation.
