Very nice and courteous service, the fish was presented and flambéed at the table - great cinema! We had prawns and tartare as a starter, bird wedding, sole and lamb fillet with Comte crust as the main course. For dessert we had flambéed crepes... and everything was very tasty. We'd love to come back... it was a wonderful evening... thank you!

Everything is just right here. The restaurant is pretty to look at from the outside and inside it's rustic and cozy. The staff is not only well trained, but also courteous, eloquent, knows a lot about the individual dishes and even has a casual saying on their lips. All I can say about the food is "excellent". The meat is cooked to perfection, the vegetables are perfectly steamed and the sauces are a poem. Everything is tastefully arranged on the plates so that the eye can get enough of it. For dessert we treated ourselves to Crêpe Suzette, which was flambéed directly at the table. Here too, the taste absolutely convinced us. An evening at Schaarschmidts is certainly not a bargain, but the quality of service and food is good and therefore definitely value for money. Thank you for the great evening, we'll be back.

A gem in a vibrant city, here you can escape from everyday life, listen to exciting stories, eat delicious food, feast mysteriously and pamper your palate. It's nice that there's something like this outside of fast food and flavor enhancers. Nice, courteous, just great... Gladly again. Thank you for the absolutely delicious goose.

Schaarschmidts is really something special. Exclusive dishes, fine wines and very professional and friendly service. The boss welcomed us personally and advised us on the choice of wines to go with the meal. In general, we were looked after very carefully despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked. And this or other sophistication is flambéed directly at the table. Spectacular! We also found the atmosphere very pleasant. We felt very comfortable and had a perfect evening. We will definitely visit Schaarschmidts again. It costs a few euros more, but it's worth it. Tip: be sure to reserve in good time, places are limited.

The atmosphere is very cozy and simply “different”. You have to see it to believe. The food was phenomenal. The restaurant is certainly expensive - but you just have to dig a little deeper into your pockets for something special. We'll be back.

Went to a practice lunch at Schaarschmidts a few months ago. A nice quiet atmosphere, perfect for us to chat. The interior is set up like a living room, you don't feel like you're in a restaurant but more like you're having lunch at your grandparents' house. That's really nice because I'm my grandparents. The atmosphere was great and the food was at the highest level. There is also a wide selection of good wine and other tastes

We went to Schaarschmidts for dinner with our one-year-old on September 7th, 2024. And what can I say? We have rarely been happier during and after a visit to a restaurant! From the first minute, the service was extremely attentive and charming towards our daughter. The food is definitely special and delicious. Not the uniformity that exists everywhere. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

Op aanbeveling van Michelin hier gegeten. Het heeft onze verwachtingen overtroffen. Allereerst qua eten maar ook qua setting (wij konden in de tuin eten) en bediening. Het eten was zeer goed van smaak en zeker bijzonder lekker. Alles paste perfect bij elkaar. Ook was er een mooie wijnkaart. Ik zou iedereen dit restaurant aanbevelen die Leipzig aandoet. Prijs kwaliteit is meer dan redelijk.

People wish there were more Schaarschmidts in this world. The kitchen and service know their craft. The selection of local dishes and the “beautiful” selection of wines delight visitors to Leipzig. The “parlor” is well-kept and cozy and creates the setting for a relaxed and restful evening. It's no wonder that there are so many regular guests here.

The food served was without a doubt excellent. The offer for vegetarian guests was somewhat disappointing. Unfortunately nothing could be offered apart from asparagus with hollandaise. We had to wait quite a long time to receive the drink order and the table with the food. The staff didn't respond to this in any way. Overall we had a nice evening. However, the overall experience doesn't quite match the price level

Spent 2 lovely hours as a couple. The duck was excellent. As a dessert we recommend the Gohliser Guller. The portions are normal size, which is why we “seniors” didn’t have a starter. We really liked the facility. There is a lot to discover. A thank you to the kitchen and the staff for the nice hospitality and the conversations in between.

My wife and I had dinner at Schaarschmidts on March 15, 2024. The food and service are absolutely impeccable. In our opinion, the price/performance ratio is on the higher side compared to comparable restaurants. The living room feel-good atmosphere described in many reviews was not possible for us. I would rather see the restaurant interior as a daring mix of bookshelves, stuffed ravens, Pierrot masks, high, somewhat outdated chairs (somewhat reminiscent of a knight's banquet) and tables that were too narrow and where I could hardly move my legs (I'm 180cm tall). describe. That diminished our enjoyment somewhat.

On the occasion of a private anniversary, my wife and I wanted to crown the evening with a visit to Schaarschmidts, which unfortunately we only managed to a limited extent. First of all, the positive aspects: the food is of excellent quality, the staff is neat, friendly and communicative, the ambience has that bourgeois comfort where you feel like you are in good hands. Unfortunately, this comfort is somewhat diminished when it feels like 90% of guests have to take photos of their food instead of consciously enjoying it. Of course the operator can't do anything about that, it's just the spirit of the times... We entered the restaurant for the first time and expectantly. We were assigned a table in the passage next to the counter at the foot of the stairs, with a panoramic view of the kitchen and all kinds of transit through staff and guests. It had the location and format of one Side table, popularly called the cat table. If you as a restaurant have the expectation of exclusivity, it is out of the question to expect guests to do something like that. After a quick consultation to make sure this place was serious, we decided to leave the place. Suddenly it was possible to get an acceptable table. The quality of the food is very good, without question, the arrangement on the plates can be described as quite clear, which means that the food can be photographed much better and can be shown completely on small displays... I admit that my wife and... I'm already a bit more knowledgeable about gastronomy and don't base exclusivity solely on the price label, but actually evaluate a price-performance ratio. There is still a lot of room for improvement here, which should be seen as a clear mandate. I then had numerous conversations with acquaintances and business friends who had known the restaurant for a long time to find out whether my experience was an exception. Unfortunately, to my surprise, not. Conclusion: This is the right address for people who like to photograph their food and post it on social media to promote their image. People who like to eat well but don't want to leave the restaurant with a growling stomach should perhaps look for their culinary happiness elsewhere. Of course, I sincerely wish the operators continued success. The concept obviously works wonderfully.

Starting with the naturally friendly service, which exuded a remarkable lightness even when the restaurant was full, through the unusual, family-like atmosphere to the excellent cuisine, which, with a gratefully small but very fine selection of regional, vegetarian and home-style food, also always offers alternatives, for example in the event of allergy-related restrictions has! The Schaarschmidts is designed in the style of a huge living room in an old manor house. What doesn't sound so inviting at first is a wonderful, cozy and very fitting atmosphere for the restaurant. The service was very warm and focused on the customer. Of course it was also time for a short explanation about Sperk :). What struck me positively was the friendly interaction with each other, which is anything but a given in the catering industry. The map is deliberately kept small and regional. Following a recommendation, I decided on a “Göschen” and was absolutely satisfied. I will gladly come again!

Was erstmal nicht so einladend klingt, ist eine herrliche, gemütliche und sehr passende Atmosphäre für das Restaurant. Der Service war sehr herzlich und hatte den Kunden im Fokus. Es war natürlich auch Zeit für eine kurze Erklärung zum Sperk :). Was mir positiv auffiel, war der freundliche Umgang untereinander, was in der Gastronomie alles andere als selbstverständlich ist. Die Karte ist bewusst klein und regional gehalten. Ich habe mich, nach Empfehlung, für ein "Göschen" entschieden und war absolut zufrieden.

Unfortunately our expectations were not met. We waited about 20 minutes until a waiter came to our table. Then waited over an hour for the food. There was only a small selection of food. The card that can be found online is not offered. There are no salads on offer and as a vegetarian you have to put together your own dish from the side dishes of the meat dishes. I expect a different service for this price range. The portions are very manageable, unfortunately no one was really full. The only good thing: the food was delicious. Price-performance simply doesn't match in this restaurant. You're willing to pay more, but then the overall package should fit - it's a shame

Neben dem Piccolo Steakhaus in Leipzig für uns das beste Restaurant in unserer Stadt, was wir bis jetzt kennen. Da wir hier 5 Sterne vergeben, muss ich nicht groß drauf eingehen. :-) Es ist nicht gerade günstig oder für Menschen gedacht, die richtig satt werden wollen mit einen Hauptgericht allein, aber es bleibt einfach etwas besonderes in Sachen Ambiente, Service und Qualität des Essen. Dafür was geboten wird, geht der Preis voll in Ordnung und wirkt nicht abgehoben wie irgendwelche Sternerestaurants die vom Namen leben. Wir sind die Tage schon auf das 6 Gänge Menü zu Silvester gespannt.

Toll, hier wird der Kellnerberuf noch gelebt, und noch echt gekockt.

Ich war das erste mal in diesem Restaurant zu meiner Geburtagsfeier und wurde sehr positiv überrascht von dem Flair und der hervorragenden Bedienung. Die Speisekarte ist auf einer Tafel sehr schön dargestellt und wird auch zusätzlich bei Fragen persönlich erklärt, ein doller Service. Das Zandergericht war in jeder Hinsicht hervorragend, wie auch das Lammgericht. Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich, man fühlt sich sehr wohl, kann ich sehr empfehlen, ich werde es auch wieder gern besuchen. Vielen Dank an das Team.

Exelenter Service und exelentes Essen

Ich persönlich bin wirklich sehr froh, dass es noch solche Perlen an Gastronomie in der heutigen Zeit gibt. Natürlich ist das Restaurant etwas überladen an Deko und Krimskrams, aber genau das macht es eben auch so sympathisch und liebevoll. Der Service war auffallend gut geschult und aufmerksam. Die Speisekarte abwechslungsreich und man merkt die Liebe des Küchenchefs zu seinem Beruf. Hier werden Gerichte angeboten, die man nicht in jedem zweiten Lokal findet. Und genau das gefällt mir sehr. Wir waren nun das Zweite Mal da und waren an beiden Abenden hoch zufrieden. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist in meinen Augen absolut gerechtfertigt. Ich wünsche mir, dass dieses Restaurant Leipzig noch lange erhalten bleibt und freue mich auf einen weiteren Besuch. Bitte weiter so!!!👍

Sehr leckeres Menü... Geschultes, witziges, lockeres und Service-orientiertes Personal in gemütlicher Atmosphäre...

Von einem Michelin geführten Restaurant habe ich mehr erwartet, meine Roulade war gut aber nicht aussergewöhnlich. Meiner Freundin ihr Steak war leider zäh und der Fisch war etwas trocken. Die Zeiten zwischen den Mahlzeiten recht lang. Personal war aber sehr freundlich. Die Auswahl der Karte war einfach antäuschend und Interessantes gab es dann nur für zwei Personen, sehr schade. Preis und Leistung für mich nicht im Gleichgewicht.

Wir haben einen 81 Geburtstag gefeiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden ausgezeichnet bedient. Es wurde auf unserer Wünsche eingegangen. Auch Veganer fanden etwas. Die Speisen haben Stern 🌟 Qualität. Das Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam und super höflich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Eine Reservierung ist erforderlich, somit bekommt man den entsprechend großen Tisch. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll. Am schönsten fanden wir (von der Einrichtung) die Lampenschirme auf den Musik 🎶 Instrumenten. Die Lampenschirmfirma ist super.

Das war ein toller Abend. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen Besonders und das Ambiente so, dass man noch hätte ewig bleiben wollen. Es gab einfach soviel zu sehen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Restaurant mit einer wundervollen Atmosphäre. Herzlicher Empfang durch den Chef und auch Stefan der uns bediente liess sich trotz grossem Andrang an diesem Abend nicht aus der Ruhe bringen. Für uns wurde sogar ein Dessert serviert welches wir uns wünschten und das nicht auf der Karte war an diesem Tag. Wir waren jetzt das dritte mal hier und werden immer wieder kommen wenn wir in Leipzig sind.

Nette Begrüßung, sehr gute Begleitung durch den kulinarischen Abend. Vorspeise gut interpretiert, Hauptgang klassisch (Roulade) und sehr schmackhaft, Nachtisch schöne Komposition. Auch Extrawürste wurden sofort erfüllt.

Having selected this restaurant for my husband's milestone birthday we were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome. This restaurant has a very cosy ambiance rather like being in the library of a grand old house and has lots of quirky features like the upturned clarinet which was used as a lamp base. The menu is short and an English translation and explanation of the each dish was given to us. We enjoyed stuffed boneless quail, the local speciality beef olive and Iberian pork all of which were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The portions are also very generous. We shared a dessert of the house surprise which was a light sponge filled with ice cream and surrounded by fresh berries which was the perfect end to the meal. There is an extensive winelist as well.

Great meal and great service! A cozy setting with old world charm. We had a party of 5, each having something different from the menu, and everything was great. The menu is written on a large chalk board and the waiter will explain it in English if you don't understand German. Is it worth the cost? Yes! Even during the World Cup, the waiter took the extra step and kept us up to date on the score of the game that night. While the overall seating may appear cramped, it is very cozy once you get settled and enjoy the experience.
