Nice and attractive tent, in South Tyrolean style. Delicious food and a very enthusiastic owner. He proudly showed us the beautiful layout.

The food was delicious. But we waited forever until we could order anything and then until something came. The young man apologized for the wait because it was so busy. But that wasn't the case. Others were waiting just like us... maybe it was an exception... otherwise it would be a shame, the ambience and the food were good

Were rudely expelled from the house because you can only come with a reservation. (Inn was almost empty). However, it doesn't say anywhere that you have to make a reservation. Very disappointing…

Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately no card payment possible.

Visited based on recommendation and good reviews, but received an impersonal response when I tried to make a reservation online and then no response. Luckily we were able to get a seat when we visited directly, but were completely ignored by the innkeeper when we entered. Chicken nuggets with black corners from the oven, cheap thin fries from the wholesale market, ready-made herb butter not even from a good brand, salad dressing edible, gypsy sauce stretched with corn and water and schnitzel breaded with virtually no reduction. Waiting 15 minutes for the bill when there are few visitors, setting up tables and taking drinks is probably more important. You also wait in vain for a thank you when paying and a farewell. The 2 stars are only for the beautiful location, the medium fried rump steak and the schnitzel was at least tender.

Two very tasty meals, friendly employees and a very fair price for what you get. The only thing you have to take into account is that you can only pay with cash, not with a debit card or credit card. This is indicated in the restaurant.

Very rustic, tasty, but small menu

My Jägerschnitzel was a mix of Jäger and Wienerschnitzel. Far too little champion sauce. The schnitzel was only 1/4 covered with champion sauce. Next time the order will be returned immediately. Good taste.

A really very nice restaurant! Everything is beautifully done in the style of an alpine hut, inside and out! The food and the service were "quite good" but not as great as would be fitting for this great restaurant!

Found this quaint restaurant near the Twistesee motorhome parking area (approx. 1 km). Nice and attentive service with good home cooking! Definitely recommended! wasn't here for the last time!

Tasty at reasonable prices, fast service

Our first visit was a few days ago. We ate very well and tasty and were satisfied with the price/performance ratio. We'll be back tomorrow and assume things will be fine again. 👍🤗

Very decent location with good overnight rooms. newly renovated) Very friendly and uncomplicated host, nice service. Lots of moderate schnitzel variations and very cozy furnishings in South Tyrolean style. Be sure to try the 54% Saustall Spirit. He can do something. Reservation situation was a bit difficult as it was quickly booked out on the terrace, but something was always possible for house guests.😉 Recommendation!

Even though we didn't reserve, we still got a spot. That was very nice. The food was very tasty, baked with cheese - schnitzel and pork medallions. The meat was very good. The cheese wouldn't be necessary. Next time without cheese if possible. Fried potatoes were very good. Specials were good. The waitress pointed out to us that the plates were very hot, which was very attentive. The atmosphere was very nice. Should be reminiscent of South Tyrol. Definitely worth a visit, but you should make a reservation otherwise you risk not getting a seat, especially in the evening.

Very good economy. The food was very tasty, although I didn't get the Swiss (loin) with spaetzle I ordered because the waitress noted pork steak. Listen, understand, write... 🤭. But the pork steak was also very tasty, unfortunately with fried potatoes instead of spaetzle. But overall everything was very tasty and the drinks were fresh. Very good service except for the wrong order. But we'll be back.

I ordered cola with soda, unfortunately there was no carbonation. I ordered schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries. It would be better if you served the sauces in a separate bowl so that the breading of the schnitzel doesn't get soft and the bottom fries don't get soggy. But the schnitzel was very soft 😀.

The service was very friendly, the food was solid and the outdoor area was completely fine. We had a schnitzel and a steak. Steak was really well cooked and there is nothing to complain about. The side dishes were nothing special and the sauce tasted more like it was in a bag than homemade. But that's not reprehensible. We will definitely be back on our next vacation!

We ate very tasty asparagus. The service is helpful, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautifully designed and we felt very comfortable here. If we are nearby we would like to come back.

Friendliness of service, well Schnitzel, asparagus with hollandaise sauce and swanked potatoes. There is no demand for fried potatoes 🙈. There are no vegetarian Maultaschen 🙈 and there are 2 vegetarian dishes. The ambience is very nice but doesn't go well with just a few dishes. So if you want to eat schnitzel and nothing else, this is the place for you.

We wanted to eat there and had been sitting there for 20 minutes when the waitress came and said that she was alone and that she could only accept guests who had reserved because they were having a golden wedding anniversary. Well, I'm of the opinion that if you're having a golden wedding anniversary then you already know it beforehand and you make sure that you have enough staff. Everything was empty and you could have served two people. For us it's never eaten again. I'd rather go to the cowshed.

We ate there based on a recommendation. We had reserved, but it wasn't recorded correctly. After a 10-minute discussion, we were finally able to take a seat. The waitress was completely annoyed. Brought a schnitzel to our table, which was not ordered. The waiter's comment: Now they don't even know what they ordered!! In the kitchen it turned out it was for another table. Since we didn't particularly like the food we ordered, we won't be coming back here.

We were there for the third time and, like the first time last summer, we were again annoyed with the service staff. In the summer she was so annoyed because of the busyness that we hardly dared to order a second drink with our meal. Today the sign said the daily meal was roast beef, dumplings and red cabbage. Without a word, I was served boiled potatoes instead of dumplings, which I was really looking forward to. When asked, they briefly said sorry, I wrote that wrong on the board, otherwise no apology to me or the question if I could instead, for example. B. would like croquettes. The colleague came to collect later. At that point at the latest I would have the question of a small compensation, such as: B. expected an espresso or something. But nothing. A pity. Such a great restaurant, but this waitress will never serve there again for so long.

Very good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

We stayed in the Saustall for a long (motorcycle) weekend. Our large room had a beautiful view and was super clean and with a great bed. Spacious bathroom with wonderful shower. Delicious breakfast. In the cozy bar area you can drink a delicious beer from the tap and the menu contains tasty dishes that are also quickly served. We will definitely come back. It's that you can only give 5 stars...

Excellent steak, nice service and ambience

We ate there twice. The first time it was really tasty and the service was great. We then made another reservation for Saturday. We were then received unfriendly there. The reservation was recorded incorrectly. The nice man didn't even let you finish. The food wasn't that good either. The cordon bleu was dry and had three croquettes on the side. The Jägerschnitzel was also worse than the first time. You shouldn't go to the same restaurant twice in a row.

The ambience was good. The rest was nothing. The food was really just ok. The service was unfriendly after we complained about the food. Criticism is probably not welcome! We were here for the first and definitely last time.

We were at the RV park and had made a reservation. We received a friendly welcome, everything was very nicely decorated. Food came quickly, even though there were several groups there. There are also bottled wines, although it's not on the menu - just ask. Food was delicious. Since we don't live far away, we will come here for dinner in the future, even without a motorhome. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, EC payments have not been possible for years. Surprising but you can adjust to it. We really like the atmosphere and the food tastes good. We came especially from Kassel

After initial misunderstandings, to which the condition reacted very harshly, it still turned out to be a great evening. Food was okay as were the prices. The conditions were very friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere, but you should know how big the group is, because there is little flexibility with the seats here.

Ein sehr schöner Abend mit guten Essen!

Nettes Lokal, aber ca. 1,5h auf ein Schnitzel gewartet. Lokal voll, 2 Bedienungen und 1 Koch. Inhaber sitzt derweil am Tresen. Sollte sich besser um mehr Personal oder seine Kunden kümmern. Qualität war durchschnittlich.

Der Service sollte sich nur um die Bedienung kümmern, nicht um die Motivation der Gäste zu bleiben oder nicht länger zu bleiben. Wir hätten gerne noch ein Bier getrunken, aber die sehr stark parfümierten Gäste vom Nachbartisch haben uns vertrieben. Vielen Dank für das Angebot, dass wir im WoMo auf ihrem Parkplatz übernachten dürften, erwünscht waren wir wohl ehr nicht.

Steak kann ich nicht empfehlen. Die Bedienung konnte mit meiner Bestellung als "well done" für das Steak nichts anfangen. Ich bestelle medium. Das Fleisch kam als viel zu dicker Brocken, war in der Mitte Medium, ansonsten viel zu durch gebraten. Nach drei Schnitten war der gesamte Teller mit Steakflüssigkeit (Wasser) gefüllt, so dass die Pommes anfingen zu schwimmen. Das sagt alles über die Qualität des Fleischs. Die Kellnerin bemerkte meine Unzufriedenheit und befragte mich dazu. Ich schilderte den Misstand, mitten in meiner Bewertung drehte sie sich um und ging weg. Wir sahen uns am Tisch an und konnten es nicht fassen. NIEMALS WIEDER FÜR MICH!

Alles prima. Bedienung nett, Ambiente urig, Essen hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Das Zigeunerschnitzel war groß, wenig paniert und sehr zart. Die Soße sehr schmackhaft und die Pommes sehr lecker . Der Salat war ebenfalls sehr schmackhaft. Preis Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Gerne wieder.

Ich war das erste mal dort mit meiner Family und das Ambiente finde ich echt klasse. Jedoch werde ich die nächsten Zeit dort nicht mehr einkehren, da wir ein kleines Baby haben und ich vergeblich eine Wickelkommode gesucht habe. Schlussendlich habe ich mein 3 Monate altes Kind auf dem Fußboden der Damentoilette gewickelt und es kam noch nicht mal ein Hinweis der Servicekraft, dass sowas nicht vorhanden ist. Leider hatte meine Maus keinen guten Tag und hat viel geweint als das Essen kam, da ich beschäftigt war die kleine zu beruhigen, hätte ich von der Servicekraft schon erwartet, ob sie wenigstens mal fragt, ob sie das Essen noch zurückhalten sollte. Nein nichts, die Suppe stand noch ungerührt auf dem Tisch und dann kam schon der Hauptgang. Natürlich kann die Servicekraft nichts dafür, dass die kleine geweint hat, aber die Situation hätte schon erkannt werden können. Natürlich würden jetzt viele sagen, dann bleiben sie doch mit ihrem Baby zu Hause…. Das Essen war leider auch nichts besonderes, es war okay, aber geschmacklich leider nicht mehr.

Die Location ist schön. Das Essen leider das Gegenteil. Besuch mit 4 Personen. Alle waren unzufrieden mit der Qualität. Das Steak war gut. Die Pfeffersosse sowie die Championsosse waren so dickflüssig wie ein Pudding. Ohne jeglichen Geschmack. Die Pommes waren hart und das Schnitzel war dick und wässrig. Das ganze Essen war lieblos angerichtet. Die Bedienung war nicht freundlich und die Getränke wurden einmal erfragt und danach kein zweites Mal. Die bitte zu bezahlen wurde ignoriert und man musste zur Theke gehen und erneut darum bitten. Das Lokal war recht leer bei unserem Besuch. Gut uns keine Aufforderung erneut dieses Lokal aufzusuchen. Essen mit Genuss sieht anders aus. Sehr schade.

Gemütliches Lokal im uriken Ambiente. Waren mit unseren Eltern am Freitag Abend zum Essen dort. Servicepersonal freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Speisen mega lecker und "riesige' Portionen (besonders die Schnitzel), Steak auf den Punkt gebraten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
