The best veal schnitzel just like my mum used to make, great salad and fries. I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

We were a group of four for dinner, and it was simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, piping hot, and beautifully presented. The service was extremely friendly and helpful.

A small, very clean restaurant with good food and a lovely, dedicated server (the owner). The tarte flambée with beef strips, ordered "spicy," could have been a bit spicier. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) with roasted onions, as well as the salad (starter), were superb. Excellent value for money. We were only there for the day, but we'll definitely come back when we're in Koblenz again.

We celebrated our wedding at the Saubar, and it was the best decision we could have made in every way. It was exactly as we imagined! The preparation and planning went smoothly. We were there with a small group of seven people on a long weekend (Saturday). The welcome was warm and friendly, the service was extremely attentive and excellent. We all enjoyed the food immensely. Everything was so good that it was striking, as it's becoming increasingly rare for everything to come together so well! Many thanks to the entire team, we'd love to come back! I would have loved to give it 6 stars!

Excellently aged meat, cooked to perfection, and seasoned to perfection. No overly elaborate plates, no gimmicks, just honest craftsmanship with a sense of flavor. The sauces were homemade, aromatic, and perfectly matched the meat. The schnitzel was also impressive. Classic, tender, golden brown, and cooked just the way you want it, not drowned in oil. You immediately notice that someone knows their craft. The Saubar isn't a trendy restaurant, but a place where good food is what it should be: honest, down-to-earth, and prepared with passion. After our holiday in Koblenz, I can highly recommend it because everything was perfect.

A cozy restaurant in Koblenz's old town, serving traditional German cuisine—from schnitzel to Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) to tarte flambée. You can sit inside or outside, and they also offer decent regional wines and beer. Friendly service and fair prices make SauBar a great place for a relaxing evening. 🍽️🍷🍺

Today we ate here for the first time. My companion actually wanted to have saumagen, but unfortunately, it's no longer on the menu. There were plenty of alternatives to choose from, though. We had a typical tarte flambée and pork belly, and both were delicious. To start, we were treated to a welcome drink from the chef. The waitresses were extremely friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed that. All in all, a definite recommendation if you want to go out for a delicious meal.

A culinary highlight of the highest order! From the very first glance at the table, it was clear: attention to detail is a top priority here. The Wiener Schnitzel – golden brown, crispy, and tender at the same time – could hardly have tasted better in Vienna itself. A fresh lemon slice with a fine anchovy garnish gave the whole thing an elegant, salty touch. The side dish? A creamy, perfectly seasoned potato salad with fresh radish slices – just like you'd find in the best restaurants. Crisp, refreshing, and harmonious in flavor. The colorful side salad was also a feast for the eyes and the palate: crisp leaves, vibrant vegetables, and a dressing that perfectly complemented everything. The whole experience was rounded off with a cool, freshly tapped beer, which not only quenched our thirst but also perfectly complemented the taste experience. The service? Simply impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and warm – without being intrusive. Empty glasses were noticed before you even thought of them, and special requests were fulfilled with a smile. In conclusion: If you don't leave the table happy, there's no help for you. An experience you'll definitely want to repeat – as soon as possible!

We were greeted by an incredibly welcoming waiter who immediately assigned a table to us, 2 adults, a child of 10 and a child of 1 + dog. Then we got a new waiter who rolled his eyes during our entire order when our daughter made noises. Her aura made us no longer feel welcome

I visited 10 years ago on my very 1st trip outside of the United States, and the food was so delicious I came back on my own without my group on my very last day in Germany. It was my 22nd birthday, and I only had a few Euros left before I went home the next day. The owners made me a small plate of side salad, bread, a small beer, and a pile of my favorite cabbage? dish I'll never know the name/secret of. (I've never been able to find anything like it since then, but it was almost like a creamy cabbage dish). It was the best lunch not only because it was delicious, but because a decade later I still remember their kindness and hospitality. This is a truly special place to visit with exceptional food and hospitality, and I hope to make it back one day!

Overall, I had a nice evening at the Saubar, but the food took way too long to arrive, so I deducted one star. The waitress, Inga, was excellent, though! She deserves at least 6 stars. Very accommodating and extremely friendly. The schnitzel was nice and thin, and the potato salad was delicious with a pleasant acidity. Personally, I found the schnitzel a bit salty, but I cook with hardly any salt myself, and definitely not in clarified butter, although very few people do. Overall, I can recommend the Saubar, but make sure you have some time on the weekend and don't arrive too hungry. The ambiance on the terrace is also very nice.

We had a great meal here! Delicious potato rösti, perfectly roasted pork fillet, beautifully presented plates, and perfect food. I especially want to mention the extremely friendly service. Everyone was smiling and very attentive and courteous. At first, there was no space outside on the terrace. As soon as a seat became available, we were immediately offered to move outside, which was incredibly sweet. Highly recommended!

Hier stimmt alles! Die telefonische Rervierung (unbedingt zu empfehlen) war nicht weniger herzlich als der Empfang im Restaurant. Die Speisen waren alle sehr lecker! Besonders hervorzuheben ist allerdings der tolle, persönliche Service. Wir haben uns wie bei Freunden gefühlt und wurden lieb umsorgt. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Liebevoll eingerichtet, regionale Produkte, ruhige Terrasse, saubere Toiletten und sehr netter sowie aufmerksamer Service. Das Essen hat nicht lange auf sich warten lassen und war wirklich hervorragend. Die Qualität der regionalen Produkte hebt sich deutlich von den „Touri-Fallen“ am Rhein ab. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier wirklich unschlagbar. Wir können es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

A nice location... The schnitzels are beaten with a schnitzel press, so to speak, which makes them very tasty. The asparagus was good and so was the hollandaise sauce (no Thomy taste). The potatoes were also very good. Inga and Eva were very courteous servers. Here you have to get a place first, good thing I was there alone.

A wine hidden in the old town of Koblenz. But if you look, you'll find ;-) The outside area is rather simple, inside it's ok, but the basement is just great. Menu is good, bourgeois, the drinks menu has a lot of surprises in store. Beforehand there was a greeting from the kitchen. Our food tasted very good, but there was something I didn't like very much. I had asparagus, potatoes, hollandaise - and ordered a schnitzel - the schnitzel (5€) was a joke... it was a maximum of 2-3mm thick, but relatively large - that means the breading was twice as thick and you only taste breading. I think it would be better to leave the schnitzel twice as thick and keep it a little smaller... it doesn't look like much, but you have the taste of meat. It was great that the hollandaise didn't pour completely over the asparagus, but just a little... the rest was in a small pot so that you could use additional sauce if you wanted. A big compliment to the service staff, she was always friendly, quick, always kept an overview and had the menu in mind.

Bei einem Tagesausflug sind wir durch Zufall hier eingekehrt. Wir haben es nicht bereut. Als Vorspeise Antipasti-Teller mit Garnelen. Top! Als Hauptspeise gab es Kalbsschnitzel mit Salat (sehr leckeres Hausdressing!) und Fritten. Top Qualität! Der Service war schnell, aufmerksam, freundlich und hatte stets ein Lächeln für uns. Danke Heike, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Tipp: Reservieren! Das nächste Mal wird bestimmt bald kommen, denn die Saubar ist saustark!

We ate here for the first time today and loved it! Super nice service and the food was a dream. My husband had the crispy pork belly and I had the pork fillet in truffle sauce. Both plates were completely successful and delicious. The next time we are in Koblenz we will come back!

Rarely have I experienced a restaurant where the service was so attentive and good. The same applies to the kitchen. Allergies and food intolerances were also handled very well. Price performance is unbeatable. Quality of food is excellent, had linguine with prawns in Perno cream sauce. I can only recommend everyone to visit this restaurant. I will definitely visit SauBar again on my next trip to Koblenz.

The service was fantastic, pleasant, and friendly; everything was quick, and the food was excellent with a good wine selection. The atmosphere was cozy and, above all, not too loud despite the full house, so we could have a normal conversation at the table. We'd love to come back.

We used to go to the Saubar more often. That's why I went there again today to buy a voucher for Christmas. Admittedly, I was there 30 minutes before regular opening and made myself noticed by the manager at the window. This was obviously too much. Rolling my eyes, the door was opened for me. When I apologized and politely asked whether it might be possible to issue me a voucher, I only got a curt answer that they "don't have anything to issue vouchers yet"...whatever you need to have to do that. My answer that I would probably have to go somewhere else was not even waited for and the door was slammed again. So far I have sent everyone in Koblenz to the Saubar for the “best schnitzel”. But obviously this is no longer necessary. It's a shame, it used to be a down-to-earth restaurant, but now some reviews here say something different.

De ontvangst was oké en uiteraard het eten was verzorgd. De bediening door de serveerster Inga was oké, de drank een wit en een rode wijntje waren oké, en het dessert een crème brule was lekker. Uiteraard mocht een synaps van mertillen of hazelnoten niet ontbreken.

First of all: I rarely write a review, but I have to for our visit to the SauBar! We went there for dinner with 3 people on a Saturday (with a reservation) and everything was really perfect! Upon entering the location there was a very friendly welcome, very attentive and friendly service (without being intrusive) and the various dishes were all great! The prices match the quality and are fair! An all-round very nice stay, which certainly wasn't my last at the SauBar!

Durch die Kritiken hier motiviert, schlenderte ich durch die Koblenzer Altstadt in die "Saubar". Es hat sich echt gelohnt und ist sehr empfehlenswert. Positives Zeichen, es ist voll dort. Es fängt beim super freundlichen und aufmerksamen Personal an, geht weiter beim tollen Ambiente weiter. Es gab ein Gruß aus der Küche, der schon mundete. Mein Sonderwunsch Rahmwirsing, statt Salat, zum Schnitzel stellte überhaupt kein Problem da und dann war der auch noch saulecker. Also wenn ich wieder in Koblenz bin, weiß ich, wo ich einkehren werde.

Zufällig dort gelandet und wir wurden in den Gewölbekeller gebracht. Sehr schön eingerichtet, gute Akustik, klasse. Die nette Bedienung versorgte uns zügig mit Getränken. Jeder Tiech erhält frisches Baguette mit belgischer Faßbutter 😋 Als Hauptgerichte hatten wir an diesem Schnitzeltag natürlich Kalbs- und Schweinerückenschnitzel mit Fritten und Champignonsauce. Alles super lecker und schnell serviert. Wir waren rund um zufrieden. 😊🤩 Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist super.
