The Sunday brunch at the Opera Restaurant was once again outstanding. My personal highlight this time was the carrot salad from Jules, the chef with the braids. Many thanks to Jules and the entire Opera team. We'd love to come back. Best wishes, Bianka

On the occasion of a birthday we stopped at the Opéra restaurant. The waiters were very accommodating and the food tasted good. In my opinion the main course is not worth €44 per person. The fact that we saw a mouse running through the hall clouds the picture a bit for me personally. One of the employees also noticed the animal and just rolled her eyes, even though she saw our looks about it.

Sorry, anyone who writes here about good food has objectively no idea about good food.

A very nice dining room, great ambience. We got a very nice table, the service was very friendly and - although she was still in training - she was very competent and motivated. The wine went very well with the food. The timing of the subsequent concert worked out perfectly.

Excellent food in a wonderful atmosphere - highly recommended both in the evening and for brunch. Ideal for special moments.

We had made reservations for 4 and although there were plenty of nice tables available and remained over the course of the evening, we were seated right in the middle of the room. The bread that was served was dry and had been cut for a long time. You don't want to assume that it was thrown together from bread that came back. The dishes you ordered were probably better and cheaper elsewhere. None of them blew us away. The service staff was great, attentive and clever. The ambience was very nice, but that's what you pay for.

We actually wanted to have brunch on Christmas, but mid-September was too late to reserve a table. That says a lot. And we weren't disappointed. Great starters/breakfast buffet that was always replenished. The main courses were also very tasty. The goose breast was juicy and delicious. Dessert buffet rounded everything off. The ambience is very nice and the service was friendly and attentive. Next year we will reserve earlier!!

There were three of us eating, but we were charged for 6 covers. This is strange and absolutely incomprehensible.

My starter bread was hard and I thought my meal was overpriced. Basically 4 raw minced meat lumps and toast, but that's just steak tartare. The young gentleman was very attentive, friendly and personable. I wanted to highlight that. The room is really nice, almost too nice for the restaurant furniture.

Honestly I had a very nice experience in this place. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly, he even tried to speak to me in Spanish, which was very lovely from him. My boletus soup starter was warm and tasty. And my main dish perfect cook. I forgot to take pics because was in a business meeting.

The breakfast buffet on Sunday morning was excellent. Also suitable for vegetarians. Drinks were ordered at the table. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a bit difficult at times. I would have liked more attention from the staff. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend the buffet!

We accepted an invitation for brunch. Were warmly welcomed and shown to the table. The ambience is nice, the service was very nice and personal. The Secco (included in the price) was stale and had a musty note. Coffee (also included) was ready to be tapped in a large container (like in a youth camp); nice thermos flasks would be better suited to the beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the buffet was disappointing, no labeling of the dishes (you don't know or recognize everything). Many hot dishes were only lukewarm. The selection of dishes is large, but seemed somehow "stuffed together" and rather difficult to put together, especially without signs. It's a shame, we were hoping for more class instead of quantity.

Every time I visit, I am satisfied with the service and food. It is also a great place to entertain guests.

People go here primarily because of the ambience. The restaurant is located in the historic foyer of the Alte Oper, which has been rebuilt true to the original. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful historical environments in Frankfurt. The food is excellent, but the price can only be justified by the ambience. The service is very good. What I like is that you can eat here before the concert and just leave your clothes hanging. This way you avoid the crowds in front of the cloakroom in the Alte Oper. You can also have dessert during the break or after the concert. The service reacts very flexibly here!

We were really looking forward to brunch at the Opera House, but we quickly sobered up. The location itself is of course impressive, the food is fresh and unusual... the service and the way we were received, however, was more like an overbooked long-distance bus. Unfortunately, even the fake friendliness of the waiters could not improve the space in the passage with a temporary (and dirty) side table to the desired standard. The food was fresh and unusual, but quite limited in its choice of bread and cereals (neither black/gray nor grain bread). Conclusion: If you like a nice atmosphere and unusual food (e.g. fish, frozen yoghurt, etc.) and want to enjoy the opera flair, this is absolutely the right place for you. Unfortunately, in our case the price/performance ratio in terms of service and selection did not do justice to the long wait for a table. The review only describes our personal experience and this does not have to be the case in every case.

It's a shame that there are no individual pots (hot dishes) and what kind of food that should be and if the buffet were clearer, there wouldn't be too much traffic between warm and cold dishes on the path between rows of tables that already has enough space I can't ask for something like that if a restaurant runs an upscale ambience.

Good restaurant with a nice atmosphere, when the weather is good you can sit outside with a view of the Frankfurt skyline and the Alte Oper. The food was very tasty and the service was also satisfactory.

We had a really nice time at brunch in a great atmosphere. The offer was very diverse and delicious, leaving nothing to be desired. The food was of good quality, attractively decorated, very good value for money. The service staff is just great, attentive and very friendly, we will definitely be back!

Went for brunch, good food and service

I went to BRUNCH with friends at the old opera and I can't complain about the service and the ambience, but the food.... The warm dishes were actually all overcooked and pretty bland (I'm sorry, it was hard for me reminiscent of mediocre canteen food). Desserts were delicious, but even then I would have preferred seasonal fresh fruit - why no strawberries in the middle of strawberry season? And what's not possible: blueberries where the mushy or rotten ones haven't been picked out. That should be really standard considering the price and the ambience! Equally disappointing that there was no sapphire in the middle of asparagus season (the last time I was there for brunch a few years ago, it was different and it would definitely have improved the whole thing). There was no oat milk either, although that is now the most common and popular milk alternative. We were all disappointed: we really expected more for the price!

Best restaurant I've been in for a long time. Great service, excellent food, lovely wine. Can recommend. I'll be back again to try other dishes

Very good food with upscale service. The atmosphere in the Alte Oper is excellent. The only drawback with brunch: the drinks are unfortunately not included in the brunch, which only becomes clear at the end when you check the bill.

The young waiter with black/dark brown hair flirted with me inappropriately. I just wanted to be in peace and drink my wine. I felt very harassed and he didn't stop either. Then when he billed me for my wine it suddenly cost 2.50 more, then he just added: Yes, those were the old prices on the menu. You can't put cards on the table that don't reflect the true price ratio. But I definitely found the pushy behavior more disturbing and very unprofessional. I definitely won't go there again and I'll advise my friends against it too.

It was a delicious lunch with very attentive service

Friendly service, relatively small menu, high priced. But very good quality. The Wiener Schnitzel and side dishes were very good!

The food is correctly categorized with three stars in view of the price level. Of course the quality is very good, but a fillet steak for €55 is already a statement. The room is great, probably the most beautiful place in the old opera with a view of the fountain and the banks skyline. So they seem quite suitable for making an impression. The service was okay, but does not come close to the personal and quality standards of a restaurant in this price range. The right place for a business lunch/dinner, I wouldn't go here privately

The old opera is really worth seeing

The interior is really something else and the food tasted well, but the service was a huge disappointment. I had a steak which was really cooked to perfection and wife had the Asian tuna dish which was ok. However, the lady serving us was very inattentive making the whole experience very disappointing. We expected much better service from this establishment after reading the positive reviews.

Nice Sunday brunch in a nice atmosphere. Only the service deserves improvement. You're offered a welcome glass but that's it. Only later, when we were almost finished, did it occur to us whether we wanted to order anything else. Furthermore, you ask for a toilet with a small child and you are sent to a floor where there is no changing table or something similar.

Amazing food and the location is just stunning

Unfortunately not recommended. The two stars go to the hard-working service staff and the beautiful rooms. The main courses were disappointing in terms of taste and were not prepared as requested and requested (medium-well instead of medium-rare and truffles on the spinach were missing, but were added later). Overall, price and performance don't match at all. Even the beautiful presentation of the food cannot make up for this, which also explained the many empty tables on Friday evening. In the emptiness, a mouse felt safe enough to browse along the hall.

Came for Christmas brunch with family. Greeted by a hostess that overwhelmed by reservations and guests. No one really showed us the table until we asked for it. Drinks weren’t served directly. Staffs at buffet were nice. Staff on the floor were not professional for the festivities. Food quality and presentation can be better. Location and the room are nice.

Was ein Ambiente! Man kommt rein und ist total beeindruckt, so ging es mir zumindest. Im Zuge einer Weihnachtsveranstaltung konnte ichs dort vor und nach dem Musical ein drei Gänge Menü essen. Das Appetithäppchen vorweg, die Vorspeise und das Dessert waren super gut. Das Hauptgericht war eine Gänsebrust mit Klos und Apfel-Rotkohl. Eigentlich auch ein Sößchen, welches aber etwas zu spät an den Tisch gebracht wurde. Die Gans selbst, bei mir zumindest, etwas zäh und schon leicht trocken. Lag aber mutmaßlich auch daran dass das ganze Restaurant (evtl auch wegen des Musicals) sehr gut besucht war. Der Service am Tisch war meist sehr zuvorkommend und bemüht die Wünsche schnell umzusetzen.

Schade um die schöne Ambiente, das würde sich gut eignen für ein gutes Restaurant, allerdings war nahezu keiner am Tisch mit seiner Hauptspeise zufrieden. Ich hatte einen Kalbsschnitzel der ungenießbar war.

Sonntags Brunch in "klassischem" Ambiente. Sehr nettes Personal. Das Buffet gibt leider für Vegetarier nicht viel her. Ein paar Vorspeisen, ansonsten die üblichen Beilagen. Das Nachtisch Buffet war sehr vielfältig und auch qualitativ hochwertig.

Esst die traditionelle deutsche Küche dort. Der Lachs war asiatisch gehaucht, aber trocken anstelle von glasig innen und hatte wenig Geschmack.. Das Schnitzel oder Tartar sind dagegen gut. Preise sind dem exklusiven Ambiente angemessen hoch.

Großartiges Ambiente. Super freundlicher Service. Meinen Hirsch-Ravioli fehlte etwas Pfiff (nur sehr mild gewürzt, fruchtig dekoriert).

Es ist zugig, Terrassentür steht auch abends noch offen, wenn's schon zu kühl ist und meine Bowl war eiskalt und ging daher zurück, anstandslos ohne Bezahlung.

A beautiful venue inside the opera in Frankfurt. The inside reflects the elegance of the Opera while the terrace provides an exclusive view on the skyline. The food was impeccable, full of flavours and fresh. The St. Jacob scallops are a must try.

Hab einen Kunden dort hingefahren und muss sagen, dass der Kunde glücklich war, dass ich Ihm dieses Restaurant empfohlen habe. Es ist ideal für ein Geschäftsessen mit Kunden!

Wir kommen extra regelmäßig aus Wiesbaden, da es Kuffler und Co im Kurhaus dort leider nicht mehr gibt. Fantastisch das Wiener Schnitzel, auch der Preis stimmt . Genauso wie früher bei uns.

Hatte gestern meinen Geburtstagsbrunch für die Familie im Restaurant Opera gehabt. wir waren mit 6 Personen dort. Die Begrüßung war sehr nett und der Sitzplatz auch. Ich kannte den Brunch schon sehr lange, war das letzte Mal vor Corona dort. Ebenfalls war einigen Familienmitgliedern der Brunch bekannt. Leider musste ich feststellen, dass der Brunch in keiner Weise mehr dem entspricht was es einmal war. Des Büffet ist jetzt maximal noch 1/4 so groß wie es einmal war, die Preise gestiegen, die Auswahl an Speisen entspricht absolut nicht mehr dem, was für für fast 50 Euro pro Person erwarten darf. Langes anstehen am Büffet, wenn man dann dran ist sind die Dinge teilweise leer, nur zögerliches nachfüllen was zu erneuten Wartezeiten führt. Die Speisen selbst teilweise nur aus einer Verpackung entnommen (z.B. diverser Käse, Salami und Schinken). Es gab einmal Zeiten wo dies frisch aufgeschnitten wurde wie ebenfalls auch Roastbeef. Eine absolute Enttäuschung und nachdem ich den Brunch jahrelang sehr gelobt und weiterempfohlen habe, kann ich dies jetzt leider nicht mehr tun. Das Personal war Anfangs noch aufmerksam, mit der Zeit jedoch stapeltete sich jedoch das leere Geschirr an den Plätzen und auf der Terrasse teilweise auch auf der Mauer.

Sagenhaftes Ambiente! Die Gerichte überzeugen. Der Brunch ist sehr empfehlenswert, aber man sollte einige Wochen vorher reservieren. Die Qualität und die Auswahl lassen keine Wünsche offen!

Top aber Brunch mit 48 € etwas übertrieben

Waren mit fünf Personen zum Brunch, Alle Speisen sehr lecker und schön präsentiert. Teile der Hauptspeisen erst ab 13.00 Uhr freigegeben, unverständlich! Sauce Hollondaise zu den Spargel zu spät bereit gestellt. In der Organisation noch Luft nach oben. Trotzdem sehr schöne Location.

Das Restaurant ist sehr hübsch, wie die Alte Oper an sich. Das Essen (in unserem Fall der Osterbrunch) war wirklich gut, aber nicht phantastisch.

Uma volta no tempo. Restaurante super aconchegante, comida deliciosa.

Das Ambiente ist großartig. Leider kommt der Sonntagsbrunch nicht mit. Vielfalt und Qualität der Speisen und Getränke waren mäßig. Z. B. einfacher, lauwarmer Filterkaffee im Warmhaltebehälter , Rühreier und Hühnchen trocken, Lachs fade. Der Service war sehr bemüht. 94,- Euro für 2 Personen machen bei dieser Leistung einen Wiederholungsbesuch eher unwahrscheinlich, auch wenn die Räumlichkeiten, wie bereits erwähnt, fast einmalig sind. Nachtrag: Tut mir leid, aber es war der Sonntagsbrunch am 19.01.23 ab 11 Uhr.

Fantastic experience. Food is delicious and well served, good selection of wines, the staff keeps eye on the time when they are aware of you are going in a event in the Opera and also usually guesses what people are going to order in advance. Not cheap but affordable prices. Higly recommended.

My top choice for steak tartare in Frankfurt. Great location, decor and service.

Am Tisch zubereitetes, ausgezeichnetes Steak Tatar, reizvolle, neoklassizistische Architektur, gelungener Dry Martini nach Rücksprache. Service agiert angenehm verbindlich.

Waren dort zum Brunch. Das Ambiente ist toll. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist groß und vielseitig. Für den Preis sollte auch Wasser inkl. sein. Eine Flasche Mineralwasser 0,7 l ist mit fast 9 Euro überteuert.

Wir waren zu viert essen. Wir kennen die Alte Oper / Opera schon länger und waren immer zu Highlights dort essen. Es hat sich nach den guten Erfahrungen leider zunehmend in die andere Richtung entwickelt. Der Service gab sich Mühe und war nett. Leider war unser Kellner nur Mal kurz da und wieder weg. Der Rest, fehlte komplett. (OK es sollte sich nicht reimen aber auch ok) Leider waren unsere Gäste mit den stark abgebrannten "Brot" als Beilage nicht wirklich einverstanden, reklamieren war aber nicht möglich, da der Kellner sehr spät, und wenn, auf Zuruf Mal zu sehen war. Der Rest des Abends lief ok. Essen OK aber nichts wo man sich bei doch gehobenen Preisen noch wohl fühlt. Alles in allem, Preis Leistung 4/10 Punkten. Ich werde meiden, mit Gästen hier her zu kommen. Die Fragen im Nachhinein möchte ich mir ersparen. Nach zukünftiger längeren Abstinenz werde ich versuchen, es erneut allein zu versuchen. Schade. Es war immer eine schöne Location für tolle und besondere Anlässe für uns.
