I can highly recommend the doner kebab at Saray Restaurant; it tastes delicious. The service was very quick and the restaurant looked clean.

A wonderful Turkish restaurant very close to Dusseldorf train station. For those who want to experience a true meat experience, I recommend this place. The döner kebab sandwich is practically enough for two. Mehmet, whom I met at the restaurant, is a wonderful person. Anyone traveling to Dusseldorf should definitely stop by; the meat döner is fantastic; the soups, homemade soup, and the meat are all excellent. By the way, the kunefe is highly recommended.

It needs a slightly larger space and some informative articles.

I was overcharged when I paid. After I pointed this out, they claimed my bank had overcharged me. As a German, I was treated badly there. My Turkish colleague, strangely enough, paid everything correctly. I will NEVER go there again. It's simply a scam. Be more careful to make sure you're paying the correct amount.

I recently dined at your restaurant. Shortly after my visit, I became very ill: I vomited several times and felt completely weak. Based on the symptoms, it felt like food poisoning to me, although I obviously can't prove what exactly caused it. I wanted to share my experience so that other guests are aware. I hope the restaurant reviews its hygiene and procedures to prevent this from happening again.

Excellent Turkish fast food with four types of kebab and a variety of meats cooked on large grills. It's always crowded, but the food is all delicious.

I couldn't find the döner I had in 2019. The place hasn't been renovated at all, and everything is very old. It's very popular, but the place is very cluttered, with tables crowded together.

We spontaneously tried this place before our theater visit at the Central, diagonally across the street. The three doner kebabs right by the entrance looked delicious. The same goes for the salad ingredients. The furniture is old and has definitely seen better days. On closer inspection, I got the impression it could be cleaner, including the kitchen area. The lentil soup was exceptionally good, and the doner kebab plate was decent. The clientele is quite mixed: travelers from the bus station across the street, regulars, and people just looking for a quick bite. The staff is neither one nor the other. They simply serve you, and it has to be quick because the place is packed. Perfectly fine for a quick bite.

A Turkish restaurant where I can find wonderful Turkish dishes and chotba. It's hard to choose between the four different types of döner kebab and Turkish kebab. They're all delicious. Despite the busy season, the staff is friendly and helpful. A must-see in Düsseldorf.

The food was great, but the waiters were rude and uninterested, maybe because we are Turkish. When we wanted to pay with a Turkish credit card, they took 4 Euros extra. They are taking the tax that they should pay to the government from us.

I went to Saray Restaurant and had a truly unpleasant experience. The fries in my doner kebab were clearly undercooked, but the employee insisted everything was fine. Since it was very busy, I wanted to have the plate packed up to eat at home. However, I was told they didn't do that – I could do it myself. Finally, I was even told I still had to pay, even though I had already paid his colleague. I had to wait until he returned before I was allowed to leave. Overall, the service was very unprofessional. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

I was there today at 7:30 pm. The staff were already annoyed when I took the order. They didn't listen to what I wanted. I wanted my Adana wrap without onions but with two sauces, and his response was that it was prepared over there and couldn't be done. I asked again until he rolled his eyes and asked me, "What do you want?" Many of us work full-time, no matter what, no matter where. With behavior like that, you'd be better off staying unemployed! We came from Duisburg because my husband likes to eat soup there, but I definitely won't be coming back!

The food is good, although the portions have gotten smaller due to rising prices. Unfortunately, sometimes people are served immediately after arrival, skipping those who have been waiting longer. Sometimes bread is forgotten, etc.

Went there spontaneously at 11:30 pm – the food was surprisingly fresh and really tasty! The grilled skewers and warm bread were especially great. The service was friendly, even if the atmosphere takes some getting used to. Overall, a solid 4 stars – a good place to go late at night!

It's unbelievable that they just can't manage to fulfill an order properly. Every single time, something's missing. After several incomplete orders, I was absolutely determined never to order from them again—but I was stupid enough to give them another chance. And what happened? Incomplete again! This time, an entire dish was missing. That was definitely the very last time I'll ever order from them.

We waited 45 minutes for a döner kebab when the place was half empty. When it didn't come, we said "What's the big deal?" They said we could wait longer. We left hungry :) It's like a joke. Don't come.

Hello, I haven't been to Saraj Restaurant in a long time, and I actually had to persuade my wife to take me there. We really regretted it! At the front, you have an employee put your food together for you, and then you pay for it at the register next to it. So far, so good. After that, it all started to go downhill negatively. There was nothing free in the seating area downstairs, and when we tried to sit upstairs with our tray, an employee told us we couldn't eat there unless we had a reservation. Where was that written down?! They couldn't tell me. After 10 minutes of putting the tray down and looking around, we finally found a table where we could eat. I'm 36 years old and have been to hundreds of kebab shops and restaurants, BUT this chicken wasn't just dry, it tasted like absolutely nothing (mushy/mealy). ... My wife's doner kebab, especially the lamb (long strips of skin with mostly a layer of fat), was UNBELIEVABLE and we left the shop speechless. We've never eaten such low-quality meat. We paid 32 euros and left almost everything. Unfortunately, I can't show you the photos, but you'd see from them how disgusting and unappetizing this meat is when it's sold to customers. The owner urgently needs to take this to heart and take appropriate measures to get this problem under control.

We arrived at 5 a.m., sat until 10 a.m. waiting for the bus, and had a meal. It was delicious, but noisy. You can drink tea for free, and you can get it at the end of the room. The toilet was dirty.

First of all, I don’t live in Germany, and this was my first time visiting this restaurant. If there are any specific rules for customers, you should inform them when you’re serving them. However, there was no real customer service at all. The place also has serious hygiene issues and feels quite disorganized. After getting my food, we went upstairs, but the staff member’s rude and disrespectful behavior was very disturbing. On top of that, he told us that we couldn’t sit there. The only positive thing I can mention is that the döner was actually delicious. But honestly, would anyone come back to a place like this just because the food tastes good, despite all the other problems? That’s up to you to decide.

When we arrived in the city in the middle of the night, right across from the Flixbus stops, we had dinner and they let us sit for a long time waiting for the city to light up.

I ordered a chicken skewer plate to go yesterday. The chicken was still raw, as you can see from the photo. Ridiculous!

We had the mixed grill plate for two people – unfortunately, the portion was really too small for that. There were no chicken wings, and the plate consisted of two Adana skewers, two lamb chops, four very small pieces of chicken breast, four small pieces of lamb, and two slightly larger pieces of chicken. Definitely too little for two people. Overall, the food tasted okay, solid, but nothing special. Some meats had flavor, others had none at all. I was particularly bothered by the fact that some of the lamb chops and the Adana were still raw inside – that's unacceptable. I'm pregnant and can't eat raw meat. I don't know if that was intentional with the chops, but I wish they had communicated that beforehand. The wait was quite long, and the tables were unfortunately not particularly clean – they seem to be a bit behind on cleanliness. However, it was also very busy. My husband ate the meat, but I preferred rice and salad. We eventually politely addressed the issue and even showed it, but the reaction was disappointing. They acted as if we'd done it on purpose to get something for free – but that wasn't the case at all. We were simply hungry and wanted to give honest feedback so they could do better next time. And of course, we paid for our meal as usual, as we had planned. I really would have skipped the Google review if they had responded more effectively to my feedback. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience for us personally. I wouldn't go there again – but everyone should form their own opinion, of course.

Ordered chicken doner, unfortunately taste was not so good. Chicken felt a bit raw, sauce also was weird. Also I ordered tea (Turkish chai), in a self service area - taste from the tea machine also was bad. In a nut shell, don’t recommend this place for dining in. But staff was quite friendly.

❌ Absolutely horrible and a disgrace! My mother and I ordered two small doner kebab plates with rice and salad – and what we got was a disgrace. The meat was ice-cold, as if it had been slapped onto our plates straight from the refrigerator. When we complained, the staff were disrespectful, rude, and completely unwilling to give us hot food. My mother brought her food back and clearly stated that she couldn't eat it like that – but instead of finding a solution, they simply fobbed her off. No new food, no accommodation, nothing! The taste was an absolute disaster – cold, bland, and simply disgusting. I couldn't even eat half of my plate, it was so disgusting. For a restaurant that's open 24/7 and has so many good reviews, this is a huge disappointment. I've never experienced such disrespectful and poor service. We will definitely never go here again and can only advise everyone against it!

The Saray Restaurant in Düsseldorf offers a charming showcase for Turkish cuisine with delicious dishes, friendly staff, and unbeatable value. The location and atmosphere complement the concept well. There are minor drawbacks regarding the cleanliness of the dining area and, especially, the inconsistent opening hours. At the very least, you should call ahead to check whether the restaurant is actually open.

I always thought Düsseldorf didn't have a good kebab. My opinion changed this year. Düsseldorf actually has two very strong kebabs. Today, another one was added, and in my opinion, this one is the tastiest. I'm sure many people don't have this kebab on their list; if it weren't true, no one would say that Düsseldorf doesn't have a good kebab. Saray Restaurant deserves a much better location; then everyone would know this kebab. I've passed this restaurant twice, and the skewer (photo: The skewer on the far right) caught my eye just today. You can immediately tell it's not a standard skewer. That's why I absolutely had to try this kebab. The meat is very crispy and perfectly seasoned. The rice is delicious, very buttery. The yogurt soup (Yayla Çorbası) is truly excellent (add a little lemon to it, it makes the soup even more delicious). The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. Saray Restaurant also has a very large selection. The restaurant is now one of my favorites.

We went in around 8am to have breakfast while waiting for the bus. We had a very bad experience, not only because of the rude waiter but also because the restaurant was really dirty. They cleaned it afterwards, but unfortunately, it didn't change our initial appearance.

I went to eat a kebab on the serious side, and the kebab is okay if you want a standard kebab. You just can't really taste the chicken, but the bread and sauces are okay. But a quick word about the staff: they're really not friendly on the serious side, and they don't respond to "hello" or "byee." The food is okay, but the hospitality is abysmal. Not recommended (only in an emergency when you're really hungry).

Nice Turkish restaurant, food was fresh cooked, service was fast and staff was nice. We enjoyed the food there.

I went to order at the cashier. I told them to order from the waiters, rudely, and then I went to order. They yelled, "There's a line, wait, man!" No one was there. If it's self-service, who cares? After such rude behavior, I naturally gave up eating. I'm not commenting on the food, but the staff definitely need to improve their tone. Respecting people is more important than making good food.

The place looks good and luxurious. But the food quality and looks is bad. At least worse than expexted. The rice and fries are dry and fatty which made me nausious. The meat was ok though. At the same time there is a football match on which is not only distracting people but also the staff. And if you are a fan no worries to miss the match in the bathrooms. You can still hear it there.

I usually like going to that place. 6.90 for a doner kebab is still relatively reasonable. Today, as usual, I ordered two doner kebabs with veal. The meat had, without exaggeration, the consistency of dog food. And in the end, I had to pay €8 per doner because it was suddenly "homemade steak meat." When I complained, I only got a disappointed look. Other customers also left their food.

The doner meat is high-quality. The bread tastes fresh and doesn't overpower the flavor of the doner. The service staff is always on duty. Behind the counter, people are also constantly grilling and serving. Unfortunately, some processes take a little longer due to the busy restaurant. The shift manager's passion for food is always evident in conversations. He points out the free tea. One thing to remember: downstairs is self-service, upstairs it's more of a restaurant and waiter service.

If you love authentic Turkish soups, you've come to the right place. We had dil çorbası and işkembe çorbası, and they were both amazing! I'll definitely be back!

I actually just wanted to buy a doner kebab. If you don't mind being ignored by the wait staff, Saray is the place for you. I didn't see any objective order in which to order at the counter. For me, the option to place my order was obviously based on the staff's subjective criteria. Perhaps they were just overwhelmed, even though it wasn't really busy. But that wouldn't have made it any better. I ultimately decided against ordering and won't be visiting the premises again. I wouldn't recommend it. However, at the Yede-Gör around the corner, the staff handled my order in a structured, quick, and friendly manner.

Four of my friends and I came for something to eat around 10 p.m. Looking at the menu, our expectations were high, but when the food arrived, they vanished. I ordered an Adana kebab with rice and salad. What arrived was an 8-cm-long skewer with about 50g of rice (but that was it). At least the salad was good. My brother ordered fries and got cold, unsalted fries. We were all shocked. There are definitely better options for that price. Given the good reviews, we weren't expecting a visit like this.

I had soup at Saray Düsseldorf – it was simply delicious! In my opinion, one of the best soup shops in Düsseldorf. The İşkembe Çorbası is especially recommended.

I used to enjoy this place, but my last visit was a shock. Unfriendly, dismissive, no greeting at all. Table and cutlery dirty, food lukewarm. When I asked them to pack up the leftovers, all they said was, "Do it yourself." That was it for me.

Ate something late one Wednesday: I ordered a veal dürüm and two lamb doner kebabs. On the positive side: the food came quickly, and the employee who made the food was nice. BUT: He obviously didn't know the difference between flatbread and dürüm. The veal tasted more like lamb than the lamb itself. The "cocktail sauce" tasted like a well-known spiced ketchup from a tube. When I complained at the counter, the response was that 500 guests would say it was the best sauce in Düsseldorf... sorry, but then Düsseldorf has zero taste! Definitely not a recommendation, no matter what time of day.

It was definitely worth the trip. The boiled lamb was truly delicious. The döner wrap was filling and much better than many döner places in Türkiye. The location is great, close to public transportation. Kudos to our chefs and staff, and I wish them continued success.

The place is quite central in Düsseldorf, so it's also very loud and crowded. The food was okay, but since it was very busy, the service was accordingly overworked, and we had to wait a while for our food. You can do it if you like; the food was okay.

We were just in Düsseldorf and wanted to grab something to eat before our long journey home. We went to the restaurant based on the reviews. We ordered 114 and 120 kebabs, plus a small extra portion of doner meat. It was such a mess ordering. We ordered at the front. We took the salad, bread, and sauces directly to our table. And we received a pager for the dishes to pick up. The doner meat was missing, so we had to go back to the front and only to the place where the doner meat is. The employee then put some of both types on our plates. The meat was great, as was the bread and rice. The tzatziki/yogurt didn't really impress me in terms of taste. We paid immediately after ordering. We wanted to take the leftovers to pack. I asked the employees to pack them up, but one employee told the others who were responsible for that. But they didn't bother. So I had to take a bowl and pack everything myself, since I didn't have time to wait forever. I found that very disrespectful of them, even though they saw me and looked over a few times. The service could have been a bit better, but otherwise the food was perfectly fine. The atmosphere is nice. You can eat inside and outside. You can also eat upstairs, where you have extra service and can order at your table, and it will be served.

It was the first time we had real döner kebab in Germany. We chose the 'leavened' döner kebab. There's also soup, which is quite good.

Saray is more of a cross between a kebab shop and a restaurant – a classic fast-food joint downstairs, and a somewhat dated seating area upstairs. Unfortunately, the whole place clearly shows signs of having seen better days. The decor is old, the furniture looks worn and unstable. The atmosphere simply doesn't fit in with today's Düsseldorf, which is full of modern, well-kept restaurants. About the food: I had the Adana skewer, which unfortunately wasn't at all convincing. The meat was dry, barely seasoned, and didn't seem fresh. My companion had the Iskender – the meat was also rather tough, the sauce watery, and the bread soggy. The biggest disappointment, however, was the appetizer. The appetizer plate looked like it had been sitting outside all day. The yogurt already tasted sour and "old" – definitely not a fresh impression. For me, that was a clear negative point right from the start. Overall, the Saray gives off an unkempt and outdated impression—neither the ambiance nor the quality of the food encourages a return visit. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

The doner bread wasn't crispy. The sauce was poor; you could still taste the bucket. The waitresses were completely uninterested in their work, and the customers weren't happy with the taste. It was a shame I didn't eat the doner and threw it in the trash.

Everything used to be BETTER! No more lamb, doner kebabs. Cheap, run-of-the-mill bread that everyone uses. That's exactly why I went to Saray every day for the flatbread and lamb. Now, cheap, uncooked veal is just thrown into the sticky bread, fried halfway through. And the salad felt like 90% of the doner. Cocktail sauce was the bomb back then, but today it's abysmally bad. I've never eaten a worse doner in my life. Disgusting. €8.50 is a joke for that.

The veal doner is particularly good, and they serve free tea. Simply perfect. Service is only available when clearing tables; otherwise, it's self-service, and it's quite crowded because many tables are usually full. I'd happily go back again 👍

We tried the döner kebab. The portions were huge and delicious. Tea was complimentary. The Flixbus stop was right there, which was a huge plus.

My stay was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and polite. And the food? I won't give it any more stars because there aren't any! Without a doubt, the best grill restaurant I've ever eaten in Germany. I recommend it 10,000 times!
