A top-class doner kebab! Can you be that enthusiastic about a doner kebab? Oh yes!!! I travel a lot all over Germany and have tried many restaurants, but I've never eaten a doner kebab like this. They use real fillet meat here. No joke: tender, high-quality fillet meat! The meat is buttery soft, almost like cotton wool in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to perfection. The restaurant itself is functionally furnished and spread over two levels. Downstairs, things are fast and uncomplicated, while upstairs the atmosphere is much quieter, perfect for a relaxed meeting or longer conversation. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and down-to-earth; you immediately feel welcome. Conclusion: If I could award 10 stars, this place would definitely deserve them! My clear recommendation: If you haven't tried this doner kebab, you're really missing out on something culinary!

My colleague and I drove from Neuss to Düsseldorf after the gym to get a kebab. When we saw the kebab shop, our hearts leaped; the place looked really good. The bread was completely fresh, probably from the bakery or homemade; in any case, it was absolutely delicious. Now for the meat: We ordered the kebab with just meat, and even though we didn't get any sauce, the meat was juicy enough that we hardly felt thirsty. Overall, top quality! Even though it was already 4:30 in the morning, the place was super friendly and attentive. We'd go back anytime!

Catastrophe, I ordered a mixed grill plate and my colleague ordered kebab. We have total stomach cramps, nausea and really bad bowel movements all night and all day. The meat was also raw and tasted really strange so I had to throw half of it away. In any case, there's something wrong with the meat that's cruel. Back then the store was really good, I don't know if there are new owners.

I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The place was really clean the staff was very friendly en the food was really nice we got free salades free turkisch sauces and free chai.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant looked promising, but the service was shockingly bad. Our waiter was rude, inattentive, and acted like we were bothering him just by being there. He got our order wrong, didn’t check in once during the meal, and practically threw the bill at us without a word.

The service was downright rude. We weren’t greeted at all—no “hello,” no smile, nothing. The staff just dropped the menu on the table without saying a single word. It felt cold, unwelcoming, and completely unprofessional. We felt so uncomfortable that we actually got up and left to dine elsewhere. No one should feel that unwelcome in a restaurant.

Disgraceful service - never again! We should have turned around as soon as we entered the restaurant: no greeting, no eye contact, nothing. Instead, the menu was slammed onto the table without a word – as if we were a nuisance. I have rarely experienced such disrespectful and disinterested “service”. Anyone who behaves like this towards their guests should perhaps consider whether gastronomy is really the right industry. Absolutely disappointing and definitely not a second time!

I previously gave this restaurant 5 stars but the quality has shockingly dropped. For a kebab plate (€12.9) I now only get kebab meat with fries. But where is the salad, bread and the rest of the side dishes (peppers etc.) that you used to get? The Iskender doesn't taste as good as it used to either. The staff and the ambience are great.

The owner Nurullah Bey personally took care of us and made a presentation. We ate meat döner and it was delicious. The appetizers, treats, services and tastes were very good despite being very crowded. The prices were very reasonable for the taste. If we come to Düsseldorf again, we will definitely eat here.

We've eaten here a few times. It's completely okay considering the proximity to the main train station, nothing earth-shattering, but always solid and you can eat without hesitation. Unfortunately it's not comfortable at all downstairs, but even more so upstairs and there's even a separate prayer room!

I recently visited Saray Restaurant and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we placed our order, things started to go wrong. First of all, they added extra items to our order that we didn’t ask for. When we pointed this out, they insisted we had ordered them and forced us to pay, which was incredibly frustrating. We ordered one dish with garlic and chili, but they ended up adding it to all of the dishes without our consent. Moreover, they told us to sit upstairs, which we refused. Later, we realized that they charge more for those who go upstairs—a sneaky and unfair practice. We ordered 3 soft drinks but were charged for 4. When we brought this up, instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake politely, the staff became rude and argumentative. It was shocking to see not one but two staff members ganging up to argue with us rather than addressing the issue professionally. The quality of the food was equally disappointing. The rice was undercooked, and when we asked for bread, it was old and far from fresh. We also requested lemon for our fish as it was missing, but instead of accommodating us gracefully, the staff responded with more attitude and defensiveness. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience with unprofessional service and subpar food. I definitely would not recommend Saray Restaurant based on this visit.

If you want very good lamb, this is definitely the right place for you. Doner meat is okay, there are better ones, but there are also worse ones. Service is attentive, but if you go upstairs with a larger group of boys, you notice and it is made clear again and again that you are not wanted. Hello, I have been a customer of this restaurant for years and today was the last time I visited. This is the second time that I haven't been treated well as a customer here. An employee, presumably of Syrian origin, wearing a cap, tells me I've been working here for 5 years and I said that. It was just about the fact that I wanted a plate with Adana and chicken skewers and why he charged me €22.50 for a plate instead of the mixed grill plate for €17.99, I was out of luck and had to accept that. As if I asked him to call his boss, one said he was upstairs, one said the boss wasn't in the house. So I can only report from my experience and I won't set foot in it again unless the boss takes care of this matter and fires this unpleasant guy.

Perfect place to eat a kebab and drink chay, even with friends. The staff is very nice and always in a good mood and I really like that tea is free. The opening hours couldn't be better, you can get delicious food here even at 3-4 a.m. on a Wednesday.

I visit this place often, every time the spoons look disgusting. I hope they clean it up one day. I won't come by as often anymore. The only reason I go there is because it's open at night.

When I asked that I didn't order that, I was told that that was the correct bill and that dishes were DECLARED as MISCELLANEOUS...REAL RIP-OFF. The prices that were below were simply added 3-4 euros just like that. BEWARE OF FRAUD AND THE FOOD WAS OK NOTHING SPECIAL Paid just under 50 euros for 2 dishes and 2 drinks. According to the employees' polo shirts, the restaurant has been around since 1979 - a reference to its long history in Düsseldorf. The Saray is busy and correspondingly loud. The upper area is a traditional sit-down restaurant, while the lower area is more like a fast food restaurant. The menu offers a wide range of Turkish grill specialties, making it interesting for fans of Turkish cuisine. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is rather average - solid, but not outstanding. The service also leaves a lot to be desired. You have to be prepared for a level of self-service à la McDonald's, but that's perhaps not surprising given the number of guests. Conclusion: If you are hungry and looking for a quick bite, you will find it here. However, for a special culinary experience or a leisurely meal, there are better options in Düsseldorf.

Back in 2020, I always drank çay there before and after school and ate something... I came back after 4 years and things have developed very positively, still really tasty kebabs and other, still delicious çay and, as always, very friendly staff. When I'm back in Germany, I'll definitely come back! Recommended :)

Six different meat dishes were ordered and not one of them was edible. The big problem here is that the meat is not cooked properly. We immediately declared this to the waiter. The interest and friendliness were not there. The food gave us all massive stomach cramps and diarrhea the following day. Not a recommendation for anyone looking for healthy food.

Brazen and extremely unfriendly staff, don't speak German and only make mistakes when ordering. Ordered to be picked up over the phone, the wrong order was taken on the phone and I only noticed it when I was cashing out after giving the money. I wanted to get out the door and then looked at the card and noticed that too much had been charged. Went back to ask why that was the case and it turned out that the person on the phone (no German) misunderstood the order but it was my fault. I didn't get any money back either. Not recommended, food was sometimes better there.

The location is great, but for this price you expect better quality. Quantity: 4/10 - A bit low, to be honest. For that price you expect a plate that is a little fuller. Quality: 5/10 - The food was fine, but nothing special. Some dishes were tastier than others, but overall quite basic. Cleanliness: 7/10 - The restaurant is neat and clean. Tables are cleared quickly and everything looks neat. Wait time: 4/10 - Really slow. It took a while before you could order and before the food arrived, and that could really be improved. Atmosphere & Ambiance: 6/10 - The decor is modern and comfortable, but lacks that little bit of atmosphere to make it special. Location: 9/10 - Ideal, in the middle of the hotel and close to some nice spots in the area. So easily accessible. Staff: 6/10 - Friendly and professional, but sometimes the service felt a bit rushed or disinterested. A little more warmth and attention would be good. Food variety: 5/10 - There are some choices on the menu, but it remains somewhat limited, especially for people who want to try something different. All in all, the hotel restaurant is fine, but for the price it could really be better. With some adjustments it would be a lot cooler.
