San Marco in Viersen

I was just there with six friends. One of them ordered the same dish as me. Everyone except me got their food. Mine was about to arrive. I waited and waited. The restaurant wasn't full. When four of us had finished our food and two had almost finished it, I canceled my order. Five minutes later, the manager wanted to serve it to me. I declined because I was eating alone. They told me the food was freshly made, which is why it took longer. Oh, so my friend got old food—see above—I assume my order was forgotten, which can happen. I was missing honesty here, a simple apology, or the comment: Out of stock, it'll take a while. Nothing. A shrug. The service was not good at all. None of the communication was there. So I can't rate the quality of the food. We also accidentally overpaid for two large bottles of water. We noticed it right away. She (the boss) was still standing at the table, she wasn't interested in it any further, she just left. Terrible!

Last but not least, it's important for me to mention that I'm neither a restaurant reviewer nor a family member. I'm just a very happy and satisfied customer and I want to let the world know that you'll absolutely get your money's worth at this wonderful restaurant. After the owner, Concetta, conjured up an absolutely dream buffet (catering) for our wedding, and our eyes popped out when we saw how many beautiful dishes and what special and high-quality food San Marco provided us, I really wanted to express in a review how worthwhile a visit to this restaurant is and how grateful I am for every special moment and the people who work there and strive to make every guest happy.

Not a proper takeout operation. Orders must be placed in the restaurant. There are no takeaway drinks or disposable cutlery. It's a shame. But the pizza and salad are very good.

It was great again. We were able to sit outside in the beautiful weather!

Friendly staff and cozy environment

Absolutely disappointing – never again! Our visit to this restaurant was a bitter disappointment. The pasta was a disaster—carelessly cooked with cheap frozen vegetables that tasted more like a cafeteria than an Italian restaurant. I could have easily made a better dish at home, and for a fraction of the price. The service was chaotic and inattentive. We waited forever before anyone even bothered to come to our table. The drinks took a long time to arrive, and when we wanted to pay, we had to ask two different waiters for the bill. Nothing happened. Finally, we went inside (we were sitting outside) to let them know again—and even then, it took another 10 minutes before someone finally came. An apology? None. Interestingly, an older couple at the next table had the same problem. Although the outdoor area wasn't overly busy and there were several waiters serving the tables, they too were ignored for ages. When they finally paid, they were charged a whopping €38 for an appetizer and two drinks—which, they said, didn't match the price list. The staff's explanation: "It's part of the service." It's a disgrace. The icing on the cake was our own bill: three single Cokes for €18. We didn't receive a bill until the end, just a verbally stated amount. To make matters worse, they only accepted cash payments—a fact we only learned when paying. The value for money and service were abysmal. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this place at all.

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. When we sat down outside at 8:30 p.m. the day before yesterday, on Mother's Day, the waitress immediately told us it might take a while. We stayed anyway, as only six tables were occupied. At around 9:00 p.m., the drinks finally arrived, and we forced our food order to the waiter. When the clock struck 10:00 p.m. from the church tower, our food was still there. In the meantime, there were complaints from several quarters about the extremely long wait. Our next table had repeatedly told the waitress that they should pack the food, as they preferred to eat at home after such a long wait. The food was then served on plates, returned for wrapping, and then left sitting on the counter inside because no one felt responsible for bringing it to the table. The next table then picked it up so they could finally get home before it got completely cold, as they had already paid. Oh yes, our food arrived shortly after 10:00 p.m. If the lights outside the restaurant hadn't been constantly off—the flickering was very distracting—you could at least have seen the food on your plate. This way, it was more of a hunch. In the past, it was already packed outside, with every table taken, but the food still arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, this restaurant is no longer recommended, and we won't be able to welcome you back.

Nice family-run restaurant with a nice selection of dishes and very friendly service. We'd love to come back.

Cozy restaurant with lots of Italian flair. Food is good and reasonably priced.

The atmosphere is like an original Italian restaurant, as you would like it to be. The olive oil is awesome. Food is great and service is excellent!

Hospitality and courtesy seasoned with tasty Sicilian dishes, in an intimate and familiar atmosphere. The menu is extensive, a series of appetizers, salads, from pasta to meat to pizza and fish, let yourself be advised by the waiters and the chef's ideas. Absolutely worth trying are Mrs. Concetta's handmade desserts with love.

Unique experience. Food, staff and hospitality of great elegance. We immediately felt at home. Great Chef.

The food was great and definitely recommended for the price. Very quiet and relaxing even at lunchtime.

I'm very sorry but San Marco used to be good years ago. All I can say is that I have never eaten such bad tortellini alla panna. The sauce was like water and tasted like nothing. I let it go back. I wasn't even asked if I wanted something else or apologized. It was deleted from the bill but again not a word was said about it. Never again!!!!

A nice restaurant...Unfortunately the food has nothing to do with Italian cuisine. I haven't had such a bad Italian meal in a long time. The pizza was small, hard, dry, cold and totally bland. More sticky like a baked pizza. The filled pasta was of such poor quality. The pasta was overcooked and in a sauce that was mostly broth. No spices, fresh herbs or anything like that. In addition, there is neither fresh garlic, spicy nor draft beer. There were relatively high prices for this poor quality.

I tried it again today and failed tremendously. Nothing has changed. I've been here since 7pm and have time to post. Food isn't there yet. By the way, it's 9:00 p.m. right now. At least drinks were brought to us after a short time. Unfortunately not recommended. Only after about 30 minutes were drinks available. Other guests who came later already had the starters on their plates. Poorly organized service. It tasted good but the portions were very small. Even with two starters and a main course I wasn't full. Luckily, my children's eyes were bigger than their stomachs.

Always something special yesterday Elvis evening super better than last year, you can always recommend it. As long as you're still here, keep it up!!!!

We ordered four pizzas and were disappointed. The quality corresponded to a baked pizza. It's a shame, we remember San Marco very differently.

Nice operation and good service

Heel erg lekker gegeten, had zelf de dorade, erg lekker. Ook de lever viel in goede aarde. Zelfs de broodjes vooraf met aioli en olijfolie waren zeer smaakvol. Zeer nette prijzen. Vriendelijke bediening. Bij de rekening glaasje marsala wijn.

We were there for the first time and very satisfied. The food is good and so is the service and the ambience.

Landed in San Marco by chance for the first time today. The welcome was very warm and the atmosphere was very nice. Menu very extensive. Very nice conversations with the owner. First there were pizza rolls and our food came promptly and fresh and we enjoyed it. The dessert and espresso were also delicious. I found the prices absolutely okay compared to other restaurants. And the service was really extremely friendly! It was a bit unpleasant when we wanted to pay with a bank card and we found out that only credit cards or cash payments were accepted. Okay, anyone who can read has a clear advantage; it is written outside and on the door. But I thought it was very nice that we were offered to pay tomorrow or another time. And this with guests who were there for the first time. Respect! Conclusion: Today was the first, but certainly not the last time in San Marco! We will be back!

Am frühen Abend, im Außenbereich, mit guten Freunden: • Essen - sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Geschmackvoll angerichtet, nicht nur für den Gaumen, sondern auch für's Auge. (Meine Pizza war einfach nur gut!!) • Preis / Leistung - ok!! • Service - perfekt, dank kompetenter, freundlicher, offener u. kommunikativer Mirarbeitenden. • Ambiente - mit Blick auf den Marktplatz und das, an diesem Abend überschaubare (Feierabend)Leben eine angenehme Bereicherung. • Facit: Empfehlenswerte Gastronomie!

Wir haben draußen gegessen und waren erst etwas stutzig, wegen dem moderaten Preis, aber für 10-12€ bekommt man eine sehr leckere Pizza. Die Kellner sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, Mal so am Rande: die Chefin kellnert mit! Einfach Toll.

Essen war ok. Wir haben fast 2 Std aufs Essen gewartet und waren nicht die einzigen. Hätte vorher gesagt werden müssen. Bedienung war nett.

Sicuramente appena arriverete al ristorante o in pizzeria verrete accolti come in casa. Ambiente, personale, cibo e proprietari possono avere solo un voto "10" . Consiglio a tutti di provare le loro specialità di dolci sempre freschi, fatti e decorati con amore dalla proprietaria che vi accoglierà in modo amorevole e sempre attento. Il proprietario che si trova in cucina con la sua maestria vi saprà fare provare dei sapori che ricordano la Sicilia. Consigliatissimo!!!

Wir waren zufällig an einem Samstagmittag hier essen. Die Preise sind vergleichsweise hoch aber wir dachten, dass wir dann umso hochwertiges Essen erhalten werden. Was wir als Scampi Spieße bestellt haben, kam als einfachste TK Garnelen...( 6-7 Stk für 26 Euro!! ) Auf meine höfliche Nachfrage was das denn sei, sagte die Chefin, dass Sie dies seit 20 Jahren so machen... naja so viel dazu. Leider wird fast überall die Garnele als Scampi deklariert. Wir dachten nur das es bei dem Preis auch Scampi wäre haha! Der Grillteller war eine Zumutung Jedes stück Fleisch so dünn und klein das es unmöglich ist hier was medium zu grillen... alles war well-done...Außer die Lamm Koteletts, diese waren englisch und mussten nochmal zurück und kamen schwarz zurück... Das Hähnchenfilet in Rahmsoße war noch das beste, wo bei die Soße sehr sehr wässrig war.. Die Salate waren frisch und knackig. Es har nur gestört das überall ohne das es geschrieben stand Rucola drauf war.. Am ende haben wir ca. 75 Euro bezahlt und wissen bis heute nicht was passiert ist... Mit EC Karte konnten wir nicht zahlen , da Sie nur Master Card nimmt, was ok ist aber sollte man zumindest ausweisen. Für uns ist das nichts gewesen außer gutes Geld aus dem Fenster zu schmeißen...

Das essen war sehr lecker, aber die Preise meiner Meinung nach nicht gerechtfertigt. Preis Leistung stimmt nicht überein. Weder der Service, noch der Komfort rechtfertigen die hohen Preise.

Esse gern ihr. Bin haber mit meine Partnerin essen gewesen wollte mit meine Karte bezahlen und bekomme die Antwort das die keine Sparkasse Karte annehmen. Mir wahr das peinlich. Das meine Partnerin Geld bei hatte und das Essen bezahlen konnte.

Sehr freundlicher Familienbetrieb mit leckerem Essen. Hier gibt es originale Spezialitäten und ein wechselndes Angebot. Ich esse bei der Familie schon über 40 Jahre und bin immer zufrieden gewesen.

Sehr lecker zubereitete Speisen auch „jenseits“ von Pizza (die ebenfalls typisch italienisch ist)! Absolut freundliche Inhaberin und gemütliche Atmosphäre! Preis-Leistung top!

Zum 1. Mal mit der Enkelin im Restaurant. Das hat Spass gemacht. Da man hier mit einem 8 Monate alten Kind gut aufgehoben ist. Auch das Essen war gut. Immer wieder gern.

Ein gemütliches Restaurant mit freundlichem Personal und leckeren Speisen. Empfehlenswert!

Das beste Lokal wenn es um Pizza geht (habe bisher nur Pizza probiert, seit mehreren Jahren). Moderate Umgebung mit bezauberndem Personal und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten sind hier auch gegeben. Nur zu weiterzuempfehlen.

Durchschnittliche Pizzeria mit überdurchschnittlichen Preisen. Wir waren dort (samstags) wegen einer Veranstaltung "Mediterrane Nacht" in Dülken und weil das gastronomische Angebot dort am Platz sehr übersichtlich ist, entschiedenen wir uns mangels Alternative für das San Marco. Für uns nix besonderes zu überdurchschnittlichen Preisen. Eigentlich schreibe ich lieber positive Bewertungen - wenn diese berechtigt sind. Aber hier mache ich mal eine Ausnahme, weil sich ein paar Dinge einfach häuften. Wir ergattern z.B. einen der letzten freien Tische, d.h. die meisten Plätze waren belegt oder reserviert; was ja eigentlich für das Lokal sprechen sollte oder an der Veranstaltung auf dem Alter Markt Dülken lag. Im Laufe des Abends bekamen wir mehrere Beschwerden mit, weil sich Gäste darüber beschwerten, dass Sie vorher reservieren wollten, aber angeblich keine Reservierungen erfolgten. Umso überraschter waren diese dann aber, dass 1/3 bis 1/2 der Tische reserviert waren. Offensichtlich wurde für eine gewisse "Dülkener Prominenz" eine Ausnahme gemacht und Gäste bevorzugt. Ohne uns zu fragen, wurden durch die Chefin 2 weitere Gäste an unserem Tisch platziert (wir hatten einen 4er Tisch weil kein anderer frei war). Es war für uns o.k. aber üblicherweise fragt man vorher. Das Essen würde zügig vorbreitet und serviert, aber es dauerte recht lange bis die Getränke kamen (Bier, Wein). Erst nach 2x nachfragen, kamen diese dann. Das Essen war schon fast zur Hälfte verspeist. Und dann wurde noch 1 falscher Wein serviert. Insgesamt ein recht hochpreisiges Angebot. Z.B. 14 € für eine (geschmacklich und von der Größe her) durchschnittliche Pizza Mista aufzurufen, ist schon eine Hausnummer. Auch die Nudel- und Salatgerichte (als Hauptgericht) lagen in diesem Preissegmet. Nudeln und Salate sahen sehr lecker aus (Salat war tatsächlich auch sehr lecker), aber für den Preis hätten m.E. die Portionen größer sein können. Wein wurde nur zu 0,25 l für 8 € / 0,5 l zu 16 € angeboten. Für uns passte das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis daher nicht.

Sehr leckere Pizza und Pasta gibt es hier. Im Sommer kann wunderschön draussen sitzen.

Bedienung nicht an Service interessiert. Wir waren an einem Samstag auf der Terrasse auf dem Marktplatz um etwas zu Trinken und zu Essen zu bestellen. Die Mitarbeiterin wollte unseren Namen auf den Bestellschein aufschreiben, worauf ich fragte, warum der Name notiert werden müsste! Die Mitarbeiterin hatte darauf keine Antwort und wollte ihre Chefin schicken. Keine Chefin kam und wir wurden auch nicht mehr bedient! Sind dann äußerst freundlich von einem benachbarten Restaurant bedient worden.

Wir haben dort kürzlich bestellt, das Essen, geliefert, war eine Frechheit. Die Nudelgerichte waren zusammengematscht,hatten nichts mehr mit Pasta, wie man sie beim Italiener erwartet, zu tun. Teilweise wurde falsch geliefert, Pommes statt Bratkartoffeln. Der Beilagensalat war zunächst nicht zu finden, mit Phantasie kamen wir darauf, dass wohl die spärlichen Ruccolablätter unter den Calamares dieser sein sollte. Die Preise bei San Marco sind eh schon relativ hoch, aber für das, was geliefert wurde war es die erwähnte Frechheit. Im Restaurant sitzend hätte ich mich geweigert diesen Preis zu bezahlen. Finger weg von dem Laden!

Wir wollten abends wie schon öfters im San Marco essen. Weil wir unseren Hund dabei hatten wurden wir sehr unfreundlich aus dem Lokal verwiesen. Es ist sicher eine nachvollziehbare Entscheidung keine Hunde ins Lokal zu lassen, die Unfreundlichkeit war jedoch überflüssig
