The food was excellent – ​​especially the "Crispy Pork Shoulder," which was served on a plate that looked like a shovel – a real eye-catcher and delicious! The wait for the food was pleasantly short, and the prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality you get. The service was very friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. It's especially great for families: There's a small playground for children, so even the little ones are kept busy. The beer garden is inviting, and there's plenty of parking. The location right next to the Obermain Therme spa is ideal – perfect for a good meal after a visit to the spa. A clear recommendation – we'd be happy to come back anytime!

We went there for dinner on Sunday with our friends and our two huskies. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the beer garden because the world had ended shortly before. The server was super nice. He brought a bowl of water for the furry friends without being asked. Since one of our dogs was very stressed, no one objected when he sat on the bench with us. <3 The food was incredibly delicious! Ambiance is ok The prices are higher than in Switzerland, but the food was better there. Unfortunately, 5 stars would only be given for the mushy answers from the owners, which are almost meme-like. Today we ate in the salt room for the second time during our holiday week. We already knew the restaurant from previous visits to Bad Staffelstein. Since there are apparently some bad reviews here, I would like to leave absolutely positive feedback. We have rarely experienced such friendly staff and our dishes were excellent both in terms of taste and value for money. Our extra request was also taken into account. As expected, the ambience is rustic - that doesn't bother you when you're eating *grin. The moss decoration is great.

We wanted to visit the salt room yesterday. We drove 50km and then closed. No information. Probably closed due to wealth

The food here is really excellent. We always enjoy coming here. A few pancakes would go quite well in the liver dumpling soup, but that only results in a minimal deduction from the B grade. The service is also very fast. The prices are not the lowest, but they are quite reasonable for the portion sizes. We have never left the salt room hungry.

We were skeptical at first because of one or two negative reviews, but we still wanted to see the salt room for ourselves, luckily! We really liked the great, rustic atmosphere right from the start. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and attentive. The food came just a short time after ordering and was really tasty. We had Camembert as a starter, which we shared between the two of us. In our opinion this was homemade and really tasty and beautifully presented. The same applies to the schnitzel - simply good! You can't really complain about the price either! If we come back to Bad Staffelstein, we will definitely eat here again! Thank you!

Nach einer Woche Urlaub in Bad Staffelstein & 6 x Abendessen, kann man sich schon eine Bewertung erlauben. Grundsätzlich ist die fränkische Küche toll, für den - der Fleisch isst! Wir waren auch hier Essen und es war rustikal. Als Knödel gabs Kartoffelbrei. Schnitzel der Durchschnitt ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Es war ein unerträglicher Qualm in dem Gastraum, so dass unsere Kleidung die ganze Woche stank, wie nach dem Besuch in einer nicht belüfteten Dönerbude. Dies habe ich per Mail an den Betreiber kritisiert - leider ohne Rückmeldung! Wir waren vor Jahren begeistert von der Gastronomie der Salzstube….. sehr Schade! Beschränkte Empfehlung unsererseits!

We were here on a recommendation. The furnishings are a little rustic, but the moss on the walls and the saltworks are absolutely remarkable. The schnitzels were buttery soft and simply good. I haven't eaten such good pork chop in Germany, my girlfriend ordered dumplings, she was delighted, a huge portion, perfectly seasoned, the service was wonderful and it happened to be in Polish, hehe, you can feel like in your own country. I recommend it with all my heart. P.S. Cheap for this country compared to to quality and quantity.

After visiting the thermal baths, we visited the restaurant. Attentive service, good Franconian beer and today a very good meal: Pieroggi (filled with cabbage) in an absolutely fantastically aromatic wild mushroom cream sauce. You can tell that people who know their craft are cooking in the kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

We were there for dinner on a Sunday. The dining room is nicely decorated, but it was very cold, so we kept our jackets on. The service was quick at the table. Unfortunately, he had to ask the kitchen for almost every dish if it was available. Although it was offered both in front of the restaurant and in the menu. There were two dishes not on the menu. The food was cold when it came to the table. It didn't taste bad, but everyone has to decide according to their taste. The service was again very friendly. We also had a problem when paying because there was no change. And paying by card is not possible there. PS: I also work on guests and cook a lot. My tip: Have a briefing with the staff before opening so that the waitress can point out any missing dishes straight away if necessary. And if you can't pay by card, always make sure you have enough change. And please only open the windows in summer temperatures, then the food might come to the table warm and the guests wouldn't have to freeze. Overall there is still room for improvement.....🫤

Ein tolles Restaurant mit rustikalem Ambiente und einem phantasievollen Dekor aus Salzsteinen und Moos. Originelle Idee! Gutbürgerliche bodenständige Speisen, echt gut zubereitet und manchmal einfach riesig! Wir waren schon oft da und es schmeckte jedesmal sehr gut.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Meine Fettucine mit Wildfleisch waren alles andere als lecker. Das Fleisch ungewürzt, zäh und flachsig. Als ich das sagte, hieß es nur, er gibt es weiter. Das war es. Für uns sehr enttäuschend. Zu den Preisen hätte ich etwas deutlich Besseres erwartet. Nie wieder.

First of all: the bad reviews here are incomprehensible to us! We were greeted right at the entrance, asked for our reservation (existing) and taken to the table. We were given the menus and knew relatively quickly what we wanted to order. Saturday=Hax day. So after about 15 minutes my husband got his knuckle and I got a caraway pork roast. Both came with Bavarian sauerkraut, a thick potato dumpling and dark sauce. We were completely satisfied. Highest rating = almost like you cooked it yourself! There was absolutely nothing to complain about and you can always order more salt and pepper if you are used to saltier food. For us it was perfect. The daily dessert “Pavlova” (meringue tart with cream and fresh fruit) was also very good. The portion sizes were sufficient even for hungry people and I couldn't quite finish dessert. The two of us were there on Saturday evening (October 5th, 2024) and paid €55 including 3 pints of beer/shandy. I think it's completely fine and appropriate. Both the landlord and the young waitress were very courteous, friendly and quick. The only disadvantage: the many steps to the basement restaurant. Not accessible for wheelchair users, very difficult for those with walking difficulties with crutches. Alternatively, sit in the beer garden in summer or take food home with you. It's definitely worth it! Clear recommendation!

The service was friendly and attentive. The food was prepared quickly. The quality was good, although nothing particularly outstanding, but what was offered was appropriate for the price. It was a bit unpleasant that we were the last guests and weren't asked out, but everything around us had already been tidied up and cleaned. This is absolutely understandable from the service perspective, but from the customer's perspective it is slightly unpleasant because you get the feeling that you should please leave now. Apart from that, the location is absolutely recommended.

Dieses Restaurant hat in Tambach bei Coburg eine „Filiale“ mit gleichem Namen. Es liegt direkt am hiesigen Golfplatz, das Preisniveau ist dementsprechend hoch. Ich war am Sonntag Mittag mit meiner Frau dort und hatte einen Kümmelbraten mit Sauerkraut und 1 Kloß. Für € 17 sollte man,wie überall in Franken üblich , 2 Klöße bekommen , hier jedoch nicht. Leider hatte ich den großen Fehler gemacht und nicht sofort einen zweiten Kloß bestellt…Bei Halbzeit des Essens bestellte ich dann einen weiteren Kloß. Nach weiteren 5 Minuten sagte die Bedienung im Vorbeigehen , dass der Kloß noch „einige Minuten“ dauert, nach weiteren 5 Minuten hatte ich dann den Kloß abbestellt, das Essen wäre komplett kalt gewesen, ich habe es dann ohne Kloß aufgegessen. Der Höhepunkt kam bei der Bezahlung, hier wurde mir durch die Bedienung + Küchenchef mitgeteilt, dass ich den „bestellten“ Kloß ( für immerhin € 2,50 !! ) bezahlen MUSS…Begründung: jeder Kloß wird „frisch“ zubereitet und das braucht „seine Zeit“… man muss wissen , das in jeder Gastwirtschaft in Franken alle Klöße immer in einem großen Topf fertig sind + nie einzeln „frisch“ zubereitet werden. Bei dieser „freundlichen“Behandlung verdient dieses Restaurant keine Gäste!

I've been eating here again and again for years. Always good. It's best to reserve space, as the basement restaurant is a bit smaller and cozy. When the weather is nice there is also a very nice beer garden.

After reading many bad reviews, we made our own opinion. We couldn't complain about the food. It tasted good. However, the service was terrible. The waitress didn't understand a word, so another colleague was sent. We waited a long time until they tried to take our order. Guests at other tables had the same problems. The food was taken in and not forwarded to the kitchen. So do the whole thing again from the beginning. But that also went wrong, so the guests left without food. And when I read that the boss is not open to criticism, but instead becomes cheeky and insulting instead of apologizing and looking for solutions to the problem, that's not possible in my opinion. We're definitely not coming back.

Waited 1.5 hours for food until the waitress came and said that the kitchen was no longer serving food. The waitress was nice (service 2 stars), hopefully she'll quit and go to a real restaurant! The owner of the restaurant, who was also present, could have at least delivered the message personally instead of sending the waitress ahead. Awkward.

We then got our drinks after about 30 minutes. Our food came 1 hour later after ordering, lukewarm. My husband had Jägerschnitzel with spaetzle and a side salad. Everything on one plate. The oil from the spaetzle (presumably heated in this way) formed in the Jäger sauce and the side salad sauce also combined. Taste disastrous. I don't even want to talk about my spaetzle, which was soggy and also soggy from the side salad sauce. One of the worst lunches we've ever had for 42 euros including drinks. NO RECOMMENDATION

Everything was great - I found the ambience too boring for 5 stars and the drink prices are steep - Seidla beer 4.50 euros - maybe normal for spa guests and tourists - rather less for locals - don't take more than one drink 💸
