Salli's in Hamburg

The Salli’s at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is a classic main-station kebab place, and to be honest, I actually really like the branding. The signs and the overall look of the place are quite nice, and it stands out compared to a lot of other spots in a main station. The staff were really friendly, talkative, and very service-minded. That made a big difference. The menu is large, and they offer this Ufo Döner, which I’ve had before in Hamburg at another place. I generally really like this plate-style döner, and it was tasty here as well. That said, I would have liked the bread to be roasted a bit more. Instead of being pressed like a burger, I wish it had been more grilled and crispy. They gave me chili, the seating was nice, and overall the experience was pleasant. Prices are on the higher end, but that’s probably because of the location inside the main station. Because I’ve tried better Ufo Döner elsewhere, I can’t give this a full score. The meat was okay, but there are places in the station with slightly better quality. Food-wise, it’s a 3 out of 5. With the friendly service, convenience, and overall experience, I’ll give it a 4 out of 5. It’s good, but not something to go crazy over.

The price/performance ratio is completely off. I had a small doner box, and the meat was extremely salty and gristly. Don't expect much from the atmosphere. The tables were dirty, and there were pigeons everywhere.

The lahmacun with meat is highly recommended.

Doner kebab is really delicious 😋

I came here for a meal and ordered a doner kebab plate. I told the employee who prepared my plate twice that I wanted a small plate. I also wanted a Coke. When I went to pay the other employee, he wanted €20.40 from me. I paid by card, so I can prove the amount. When I asked, he simply said my plate was "large." This confused me, but I paid anyway. Only later did I realize that the prices couldn't be right – €16.90 plus €2.80 doesn't equal €20.40. Unfortunately, the whole experience seemed very unprofessional and disrespectful. I would have appreciated clear communication and an accurate bill.

Had there an egg sandwich early in the morning before a train trip. The sandwich was very big, fresh and tasty. Not so easy to find a good egg sandwich in Germany.

Salli Döner is simply fantastic! The meat is always fresh and perfectly seasoned, the bread is crispy, and the sauces are incredibly delicious. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. One of the best kebab shops in Hamburg – highly recommended! 😊

I wouldn't recommend eating there, or you'll have to make do with something because diarrhea comes every minute.

I couldn't finish my doner kebab: the bread was soft/stale, the mix of side dish and meat wasn't good, and I encountered my first, even large, bone in 25 years of eating doner kebabs.

I've been there a total of 4 times. In my opinion, the service was unfriendly.

For €11.20, I expect significantly higher quality. The kebab simply wasn't worth the price. The cheese was served in cubes instead of grated, which didn't look right or taste good. Overall, the flavor was subpar – the individual ingredients didn't work together at all. Nothing came together, neither in terms of structure nor overall flavor. Unfortunately, for the price, it was a real disappointment.

Some of the meat was raw! When you tell them that this isn't acceptable, you're laughed at and told it's "normal"! 🤦 Are the stomach aches afterward also normal? You should actually bring this to the attention of the consumer protection agency.

We wanted a kebab in a flatbread (standard), but instead we got a UFO kebab with barely any meat, barely any sauce, and absolutely terrible taste. For that much money, it's a complete rip-off. I don't recommend this kebab. They don't treat their customers particularly well either. We won't be going back. You can make a lot of money with a UFO kebab like that, but it's very expensive. Never again....

Picked up two böreks on Friday at 4:15 PM. Unfortunately, the cheese and spinach börek was completely moldy inside. I have no idea how long it had been sitting there. It's literally a shame to sell something like that. The non-moldy cheese börek was anything but tasty either. I'll never go there again. The salesperson was stressed, but OK.

The most expensive kebab I've ever had: €20.50 for a kebab plate with a drink. I easily get the same thing twice for that. The meat, salad, fries, and sauce are standard, nothing special. Very disappointing for that price.

Worst kebab of my life!!!! We ordered two kebabs, one with meat, one with vegetarian, and both were bad: - overpriced (almost €10 per kebab) - the vegetarian one was specifically supposed to be without onions, but in the end, it had onions on it - the meat one tasted of fat and dripped with oil - seitan tasted like dry wood (even worse than seitan tastes anyway) - the staff was unfriendly!!!

We (four people, including a 75-year-old woman who has difficulty walking) had just arrived and sat down. As soon as we sat down, a very rude employee came over and immediately tried to evict us. When we told him we were customers, he went behind the counter and watched us from there. We wanted a drink and a portion of fries. As my brother and I went to the counter to place our order, the man—who had been watching us the whole time—said we could drink as we went and didn't have to stay seated. We then got drinks and a portion of fries with mayo. The fries were really bad: soggy, unsalted, and simply not tasty. While we ate them, we continued to be stared at. Other guests at the tables also complained—they had kebab plates or boxes—and also said that the food was not tasty and the man was very rude. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Excellent kebab. Really tasty. I had beef kebab classic. The sauces are also great. Quick tasty fix in central Hamburg. Very friendly staff too. The prices are also ok. I paid 12,90 for a döner and a Coke. I recommend!

I was out with a friend after a walk in Hamburg, and we thought: Why not quickly grab a Dürüm? It was 6:30 a.m. – we were hungry, the day was just beginning. Instead of a relaxing breakfast, however, we had a complete disaster. The meat in the Dürüm was completely raw – not just a little pink, but completely raw. I went to the police station alone because I didn't want to just leave it there. The officers were friendly, but said they weren't allowed to go inside with me – I should try again myself. So I went back to the store and calmly explained what was going on. The clerk immediately freaked out, showed me some other meat, and claimed I was lying. Then he started yelling in his own language and called a security guard to throw me out. And as a "solution," I was seriously offered a piece of raw onion. No joke. To be treated so disappointed and disrespectful at 6:30 a.m. – that was truly the lowest moment. The worst kebab shop you can imagine. Not recommended – expensive, rude, and terrible service. Better go to another kebab shop, like the one down in the passage from the main train station toward the city center. At least there you get something edible – and are treated like a human being.

I was just there with my daughter. We had a large doner kebab and a doner kebab with fries. The meat was incredibly juicy and the flavor was amazing. Everything was prepared quickly and was piping hot, just as it should be. I'll definitely eat here again when I'm back in Hamburg 😁😁😁

Dönerbox surprisingly good, but with 9€ for it it is a bit of a cheek price-wise

I came from Turkey 7 months ago with a work visa. I ate döner for the first time in Hamburg. It was delicious. Since I work in this sector, I don't like every place. From now on, I will always eat döner at Sally's. I hope I can meet the boss and congratulate him. Cafer Karatas Lüneburg.

I tried the chicken doner. The chicken taste is definitely more delicious than the chicken in Türkiye. The yogurt sauces were good. The sandwich in the picture is 8 euros. When you convert it to TL, the worst part is the price. The portion is filling.

We had doner kebab with feta cheese in bread. (1x chicken, 1x veal). Good taste, good service. The noise was acceptable for a train station.

I am 55 years old and I have never eaten such a good doner before. I recommend it.

Well, I think €20 for a doner kebab plate + Coke with dry meat is really excessively expensive. The meat was really dry, though. I find that really crazy. When I heard €20 I thought it was a joke. The portion is good. But still too expensive, especially for the quality. No gold leaf, no special extras. Okay, the salad was tasty and the rice was tasty too. But definitely too expensive. And I personally didn't find the men there that particularly motivated or friendly. So I won't be going back. I'm always for a fair price, but then everything has to be right. Despite the location near the main train station where everything is a bit more expensive. But no, even if I have to repeat myself, that's too much of a good thing.

The worst kebab I've ever eaten. Cold kebab, the meat so greasy that the fat/oil runs out. The sauces are tasteless. The bread is a disaster. The tables are dirty; no one cleaned them the entire time we were sitting there. A no-go.

For €9 you can get a kebab roll if the quality is right. But rarely have I eaten anything so bad. I'm actually from Hanover and I'm used to something different because I thought the store was full and it had to be good. Unfortunately it wasn't like that. Never again

Hygiene standard for my order: Step 1: Prepare Dürüm using a glove with holes Step 2: Wipe tables with dirty rag (glove is on one hand^^) Step 3: Handle and throw away old cups and cutlery Step 4: Use a hand brush to remove food residue and unrecognizable dirt from the station floor Step 5: (without washing your hands and with said gloves) empty the dishwasher Step 5: Serve new customers without washing your hands <3 Delicious! I gratefully threw away my overpriced 10 EURO Dürüm and hope I don't get any worms. ;)

When it comes to doner in Hamburg, Sallis kebab is an unforgettable taste, the meat is amazing, I recommend it.

No more The Salli's! For almost 14 euros, I had a UFO doner, a small mineral water, and 8 (!) fries. When I pointed out that although gloves were worn, it was unhygienic to touch both food and money with them, as was done, one employee explained to me that he only had two hands, and the other told me that if I hurt myself, I shouldn't eat out but at home. The chicken in the doner tasted vaguely like fish at times, and today my stomach is rumbling. UNHYGIENIC, RUDE, OVERPRICED

Falafel-Dürüm was all cold (I don't know that) and the service was very unfriendly (not just to me, others who were there were also treated very unfriendly)! Food was just slapped on the counter! Definitely not here again!

Doner meat was not freshly cut and was therefore cold. When we pointed this out to the salesman, he said that next time we shouldn't go to a restaurant that we didn't like. That was a disgrace.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. €9.20 for a Dürum is critical, but when it feels like there are only 20 grams of meat on it, I feel ripped off. The Dürum was so miserable that you must have noticed that you were ripping people off. In terms of taste, it wasn't that bad, but the price and performance are disproportionate.

This store isn't even worth 1 star! Today's staff is so overwhelmed with everything just discussing and shouting!! Simply disgusting behavior! Find normal staff with decency!

BEWARE FOOD POISONING!!! While eating I asked myself whether the meat was properly done, a few hours later I had the answer. The kebab put me out of action for 1.5 days with diarrhea and vomiting. Learn from my mistake and avoid the store.

DANGER! I got food poisoning after eating the chicken kebab! Shortly afterwards I had vomiting and severe watery diarrhea. My friend, who didn't eat there, had no complaints.

€4.20 is charged for a small portion of fries with mayo and you get a lukewarm load of fries that not even a drunk raccoon would find cool.

A classic “train station kebab”. I had a Dürüm (9.30) and it was only “edible”. The bread was bought out of the bag, warmed up briefly, a handful of meat and some salad. They're just aimed at the passing public. As I said, it was ok in an emergency, but not a culinary delight.

The vegetarian meat substitute “Seitan” doesn’t taste that good. The cheese wasn't my thing either. The tzatziki doesn't taste like garlic at all. Just yogurt with dill.

I ordered a haloumi and falafel box when I was really hungry. Of course, they're sparing with the falafel and haloumi, which is perfectly fine. But if the rest of the side dish consists entirely of sauce and leaf salad, how am I supposed to get full from it, dear Sallis team? Why don't you put some bulgur or something at the bottom for the carbs, and then add the salad and the rest. I'll have to get a filling side dish from somewhere now :/ The taste is top notch for me.

A kebab sandwich and a bottle of water cost 11€. The quantity and taste were quite satisfactory, but the price was a problem.

I've never actually come across this before, but judging by all the bad reviews here, the store should be closed down immediately by the authorities...

Rarely have I had such a bad Dürüm as I did last night. The price (€9.50) is so outrageous, but in combination with the taste it's just cheeky. The flatbread was somehow hard and tasted more like flour. The meat (veal) didn't convince me either. The sauces add to the overall flavor. Better get the kebab outside the train station

Doner tastes good, but is quite small. And I doubt whether 8.50 (what happened to kebab prices?) reflects the real value. At Tunneldöner a few meters further it is larger and costs "only" 6.90...😜

It is absolutely unacceptable that you pay €18.60 for 2 small kebab boxes (which were really relatively small). The quality was also disappointing: more than half of the box was filled with lettuce, and the whole thing wasn't mixed at all. The preparation seemed to be done carelessly and without care. Additionally, the staff seemed to barely listen, which made the entire visit very unsatisfactory. Really a disaster for the price. Absolutely not recommended!

Please don't eat there. Don't do yourself any favors with this. Doner kebab is expensive but has no quality. The seller insults you if you pay more than what is on the menu. Doner to take away costs €1.00 more, I didn't agree to that and then he would be rude and insult you. I'm not the only one who has had such experiences, according to reviews that he wants to get more than what's on the menu

Terrible, I was literally chased away with a sleeping baby in my arms and a toddler because my child ate a fruit cup, I ate Indian food and my husband was still in the food court and hadn't gotten around to ordering there yet. Never again! Then he wasn't allowed to order what he wanted because it was “not enough” to stay there. Absolutely unfriendly and unsuitable for families, even inhumane!

I ordered a kebab and he cashed in shortly beforehand and wanted to open my bread with the same unwashed ones. I then pointed out that I wanted different bread. Absolute Scammers, dont bother. We walked past and wanted a quick snack, they had some spinach and feta rolls on the counter, unpriced. They quickly took our €10 and gave €1 back. when we asked how much the rolls were after, they said €3.90. So we asked for the right change back, they then pretended to not understand and refused to give the right change back. They knew exactly what they had done and were happy to rob us. Nasty dudes, no respect for what they are doing. Do not go here

I've eaten in many kebab shops all over Germany. But this kebab snack bar is by far the most expensive of all. Offering a Dürüm for €9.30 is the height of impertinence. I won't eat there again in the future. PS: You can dig deep into your pockets for cheese ;)
