It's okay that a restaurant is unavailable due to a private party. But not posting this notice in the parking lot is mean! My almost 90-year-old friend struggles to get there, only to find out that she can't play. Not particularly thoughtful.

My first time there, I was blown away by the ambiance, the friendliness of the staff, and the friendliness of each other. The manager was even there, and you wouldn't have noticed a thing. The food was excellent, exceptional, nothing ordinary, and the cleanliness. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity. Unbelievable, you live around the corner and miss this wonderful spot. 5 stars with 🌟 🤩

Yesterday, I was disappointed for the first time in all these years. Both the pinchos and the chicken skewers definitely had turkey on them—not chicken. The meat wasn't particularly good and had a strange texture. The rest was, as always, very tasty. The food came quickly despite the crowds.

The wonderful view from the terrace somewhat compensated for the poor food. Since we were there with friends, we didn't complain in detail so as not to disturb the gathering. 3 x Shrimp Pan for €22 each!: A wobbly pan on a wooden plate that was almost impossible to eat from. About 5 small, completely dry shrimp, a large amount of briefly fried potatoes that covered everything else, briefly fried vegetables, some of them cold, all unseasoned and bland in taste. 1 x "large salad plate" with shrimp for €18.50: a few leaves of frisee lettuce, some of them wilted, also about 5 mini shrimp, very dry, and the "crowning glory": the same bland grilled vegetables as in the shrimp pan. What does that have to do with a salad plate? Okay, there were still two very thick slices of cucumber and a quarter of a tomato, and two untoasted slices of white bread... A friendly reminder to the young wait staff that we weren't satisfied was met with: we'd have to tell the kitchen... On the plus side, the carafe of mineral water with lemon, mint, and berries was a good start, giving us hope for a flavorful Mediterranean meal, so we were very disappointed, a shame. If you like mostly fried side dishes, this is probably the place for you.

I recently ate there. The prices were way too high for what you get. The waitress was very friendly. I had bread with olives as a starter, and it was very burnt and not tasty! The pork loins were far too dry and not the best. I also saw mice outside. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Nice location on the first floor with a view of the pond. The service was very attentive, and the food was very fresh and attractively presented.

A beautifully located restaurant, right on a small lake. A lovely terrace with both sunny and shady spots. The service team is very friendly and attentive. The food selection is good, with something for everyone. I had the pizza verdura and loved it. It had a delicious thin crust with generous toppings. We will definitely be back!

I can highly recommend this place

The ideal place for lunch in this sweltering heat! We enjoyed huge portions of pasta with shrimp and green asparagus. I've never had so many shrimp on my plate as here. Simply fantastic! Plus, the service was fast and super friendly. Absolutely recommended!

A wheat beer costs €6.90. Even the owner of the Sansibar on Sylt would be jealous.

A poor menu. I ordered a beef fillet. The waiter asked me how it was. I asked for it medium. When I ate it, it was bitter and tough. I turned it over and it was burnt. He had forgotten it on the grill. 🤣 I had another one prepared. But hunger and wasted time😁... It's a shame, the location is superb, the waiters are friendly, but the cuisine leaves something to be desired.

Salinas: Unique as a restaurant. The dishes vary in quality and uniqueness. The ambiance is beautiful. We recently discovered Salinas. Mistakes, whether made by the customer or simply happen, are corrected and undone without hesitation. The food varies in quality (as mentioned above). Some dishes, such as the unique burgers and sweet potato or steakhouse fries with garlic mayonnaise, are very good (4/5). However, we didn't like the pizza (1/5). There are certainly some yet-to-be-tried gems here that are worth trying. The service is also good, as mentioned earlier. But unfortunately, this too varies. Sometimes it's a 3/5, sometimes a 5/5. At Salinas in general (whether it's the kitchen or the service), it seems to depend heavily on the staff's performance. I debated for a while whether to give Salinas 3/5 or 4/5 stars overall. I chose four because it has more points to offer—not to mention the ambiance, which is truly unique. In general, I believe the entire motto here is "uniqueness": be it the location, the menu, or the drinks list. Hats off to the consistent implementation of this motto. We enjoy coming here regularly, and I sincerely hope that the coming season will see more of a manifestation of the quality and service, and that both will be more consistent.

Salinas is beautifully located in the Volksgarten park, right by the lake. It features a large outdoor terrace and an outdoor area with comfortable seating. A chilled atmosphere and an appealing menu.

This was our first time at Salinas and we were absolutely thrilled. We had a table with a direct view of the lake. The service was excellent and incredibly friendly. The food was also very much to our liking. The best part was the dessert, "The Chocolate Duet"...melt to die for 😀

A beautiful place to enjoy nature outdoors. Unfortunately, I found the cake to be mediocre and the slices too small.

The mom and her partner hosted their son and my daughter's wedding there. As a former LocalGuide I can only recommend this restaurant. I absolutely didn't expect that “Salinas” would conjure up such a great meal. All guests present were more than satisfied. I also ate all three dishes myself and everything was delicious. I don't even want to start chattering about dessert, I'm just going to lie down and munch on Exitus. Recommended and would come again at any time…

Spontaneously got a table on a Saturday with 6 adults and 4 children. Everything was great. Delicious food, nice staff and very friendly to the kids. Thank you very much, gladly again.

Hello, my dears. I can highly recommend Salinas Restaurant. You can have a good breakfast and drink coffee there, great food selection and also a very good selection, not to forget the delicious dessert. Snacks for in between, service also super friendly staff also child friendly. There is also a day ticket for children, a great selection. Price is good too. It's very cozy there. I can only highly recommend it. When I'm in the city again, I'll go there again, to Selina's restaurant in Mönchengladbach. All the best and best regards to all of you.

Most boring meal in a restaurant I've ever had. In order to avoid animals, we ordered veggie food for the group for Christmas: two peppers with a huge pile of couscous came😥 afterwards there was dark mousse au chocolat, which could have been vegetable, but there was milk in it - so we had other hard fruit salad for dessert.

Outdoor area could be a little more inviting. Of course it's still early in the season. We would have liked to have coffee and cake. The cake looked pretty sad in its display case, it was already a few days old. We then decided against it.

I would like to explicitly share MY personal experiences here. We were at the restaurant yesterday for the first time with four people. The restaurant was packed, and the acoustics were so loud that we could barely hold a conversation. A little more decoration or room dividers might help. The service was very friendly. I ordered the pork loin and asked if it came with a side salad. They said no, and I ordered a separate side salad. The food was served on a slightly larger breakfast plate. Therefore, the presentation of the dishes didn't look very appealing, and everything seemed to have been thrown together. I had three pork loins that were already overcooked on the outside and bone dry on the inside. They were accompanied by potato chunks and, lo and behold, a side salad, all on this small plate. As a result, the vinaigrette and the cream sauce crisscrossed in some places. I had to pay an additional €7.50 for the side salad I ordered separately. My friend had the pike-perch fillet with pasta and Mediterranean vegetables. The pike-perch fillet consisted of three small pieces of fish on a mountain of tasteless pasta. The Mediterranean vegetables were, quite frankly, a joke. Therefore, we will refrain from another visit in the near future.

Located directly in the park with a view of a small lake. There are seats outside on the terrace and inside in a beautifully decorated room. The menu was varied. There was a wide selection, from breakfast to various main courses, cakes, ice cream, and various snacks. The prices were reasonable. We had waffles with cherries and cream, apricot lattice cake, and steakhouse fries. Everything was delicious. The service was very friendly and quick. Even though all the tables were taken, we were served promptly and received our ordered food promptly. We'll definitely be back.

Inferior quality of food... Chicken skewers like rubber, "Mediterranean dip" was Aivar from a jar... The attentive waiters were positive. Still not recommended.

Sunday evening, a quarter to eight! We enter the restaurant and are turned away. The kitchen would have already closed. That's the biggest impudence you're allowing yourself to do. On the door it says kitchen until 9:30 p.m., open until 11 p.m.! NOT SO!!! In any case, I will seek a conversation with the managing director. If I could, I would add a few more points!!!

So, please do me a favor...I like your food and the service is good, BUT...this has happened to me twice now...kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m....please note on your website that there are only limited kitchen times, this creates clarity and the customer can orientate themselves accordingly! Thank you.

A beautiful little oasis in the Volksgarten in Mönchengladbach. I love it there in summer. It always reminds me of the island and is like a little short vacation.😊. There's great food and cool drinks. We always enjoy being here.

We were satisfied with the food and the service. However, the wine list is pretty spartan. The price is very high for a discounter sparkling wine:( 📍the current menu has not been adjusted to the new increased prices (+approx. 13%) on the homepage. Very nice deco... with a little dusting it would come across better.

We were there on Saturday for breakfast with 6 people. We had reserved and it was well filled. I saw 2 waitresses and a counter worker. The service was great, we got our plates at the same time and kept asking if something was ordered or missing. Everything was plentiful and the leftovers were welcome to be packed up to avoid waste. Afterwards we sat together over coffee and walked through the snow-covered park, which could be seen beautifully through the terrace windows.

Unfortunately not the quality we expected. The choice of food is very limited and the taste is not appealing. Quality of the meat from the burger grilled with saddle of beef was poor. The price is clearly too high for this quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. By the way: a Salinas currywurst with steakhouse fries and a little salad - the sausage doesn't taste good at all - 12.9o euros. A dream... right?

We were there yesterday as guests at a wedding and I was absolutely thrilled. Huge praise to the staff, I have never received such good, friendly and courteous service at a celebration. It was our wedding anniversary and I had reserved a table outside. Puppy cake, we could only sit inside. The service was okay and then the food came... The potato rosti could only be eaten with a hammer and chisel. We were then offered to prepare a new portion to take away. It's just stupid that the potato rosti had the same consistency as the first portion. My husband is a master chef and we both know how things can and shouldn't be. Make a little effort. Then something could come of it.

The food and customer service was really great. It's a shame that we couldn't pay with a debit card, it would have to be activated because we usually don't have that much cash with us when we invite 7 people to dinner. The price on the online menu is also not up to date.

Had breakfast there for the first time today, “breakfast for 2” 19.50.- without drinks. I can only say........ "MEGA delicious + GREAT" and it would easily be enough for three. From salmon, eggs to Nutella, nothing was missing!!!!!!!! Really great !!! gladly again

Meine Frau und ich waren zum ersten Mal dort. Wir hatten uns vom Ambiente mehr versprochen. Durch das Altersheim und den öffentlichen Garten wurde diese nicht erfüllt. Die Sitzgarnituren und Tische im Außenbereich haben auch schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Leider habe ich mir direkt einen Splitter eingefangen. Von den Mücken wurden wir zum Glück in Ruhe gelassen. Eins muss man sagen, die beiden Damen im Service sind echt super nett auf aufmerksam. Der junge Kollege kann sich dort noch einiges abschauen. Wir hatten als Vorspeisen den Salinas Teller, als Hauptgerichte das Lachfilet, und den Caesar Salad. Alles im allem alles ganz gut. Interessant war das Hähnchenfleisch mit den Pilzen in der süß/scharfen Sauce, hatte ich so noch nie gegessen. Was man dort verbessern könnte wären frische Pilze statt aus dem Glas/Dose und man schmeckt die typisch Asia Sauce heraus dort eventuell selber etwas entwickeln. Die Thunfischcreme und Schafskäsecreme sind sehr lecker. Das Dressing vom Salt ist ebenfalls sehr lecker, könnte etwas mehr sein. Das geröstete Brot ist eher langweilig im Geschmack, dort sollte man auf ein etwas geschmackvolleres Brot wechseln. Beim Lachfilet (große Portion) würde ein größerer Teller wünschenswert, damit man Platz hat und der Fisch nicht auf dem Gemüse angerichtet wird. Ich fände es ebenfalls schön, wenn der Lachs eine knusprige Hautseite hätte und ein wenig mit Salz/Pfeffer und Zitronenabrieb gewürzt wäre. Ansonsten war der Lachs, das gegrillte Gemüse, die Rosmarinkartoffeln und das getr. Tomaten Rellisch lecker. Der Caesar Salad war eine sehr große Portion, leider war das Hähnchenfleisch nicht gut gewürzt und eher langweilig aber immer hin nicht trocken. Der Salat war auch nicht angemacht, nur Dressing darüber geträufelt, ich finde es besser den Salat vorher in eine Schüssel mit dem Dressing zu vermischen und dann zu Servieren. Dasselbe langweilige geröstete Brot wie bei der Vorspeise, und die Tomaten/Salatgurkenscheiben und Ei-Scheiben kamen ungewürzt. Des Weiteren gab es schönen grob gerieben Parmesan. Alles in allem gut aber man könnte es ein wenig verbessern.

My wife and I went there for the first time. We had expected more from the ambience. This was not fulfilled by the retirement home and the public garden. The seating and tables in the outdoor area have also seen better days. Unfortunately, I caught a splinter straight away. Luckily the mosquitoes left us alone. One thing has to be said, the two ladies in service are really super nice and attentive. The young colleague can learn a lot from there. We had the Salinas plate as starters, the salmon fillet as main courses, and the Caesar salad. All in all, everything is quite good. The chicken with mushrooms in the sweet/spicy sauce was interesting; I had never eaten it like that before. What could be improved there would be fresh mushrooms instead of from the jar/can and you can taste the typical Asian sauce and maybe develop something there yourself. The tuna cream and sheep's cheese cream are very tasty. Salt's dressing is also very tasty, but could be a little more. The roasted bread has a rather boring taste, so you should switch to something more tasty. For the salmon fillet (large portion), a larger plate would be desirable so that there is space and the fish is not served on top of the vegetables. I would also like it if the salmon had a crispy skin side and was seasoned a little with salt/pepper and lemon zest. Otherwise the salmon, the grilled vegetables, the rosemary potatoes and the dried. Tomatoes Really delicious. The Caesar salad was a very large portion, unfortunately the chicken was not well seasoned and was rather bland but at least not dry. The salad wasn't dressed either, just dressing drizzled over it. I think it's better to mix the salad with the dressing in a bowl beforehand and then serve. The same boring toasted bread as the starter, and the tomato/cucumber slices and egg slices came unseasoned. There was also nice, coarsely grated Parmesan. All in all good but it could be improved a little.

Today for the first time in Salinas. Nice terrace. Super nice employees. The drinks and food arrived very quickly. The food was good. The pinchos could have been on the grill for a little less time. Poultry was very dry. But the beef was great. All in all a good restaurant. We'll be back ;)

Wow, that was great! We were here for the first time and were really excited. The restaurant is located on the edge of the Volksgarten directly on a lake. Very nice - you can also sit outside. The food was very tasty, the staff enjoys their job! You notice that, super attentive. Free parking is possible in a large parking lot nearby. We will be back!

The food was OK so far. Our waiter was very friendly and on the ball. There is still a clear need for improvement in terms of cleanliness. Cards and tables were stuck. Unfortunately it was also very loud (full restaurant), something that could be remedied.

The Salinas is a pearl in Mönchengladbach. We had a wonderful place outside with a wonderful view of the Weyer. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the food was great, the portions are huge. I had the halloumi citizen with steakhouse fries, aioli and barbecue sauce.
