Our Christmas party was lovely; we chose the food beforehand and then simply enjoyed everything in the evening. Delicious wine. The food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I felt a bit like I was on a winter holiday. I'd love to come again.

The food was delicious, the staff incredibly friendly, and the ambiance, especially by the fireplace, is very inviting.

We were a group of 12 for dinner, all ordering different dishes. The wait was 70 minutes, unbelievable for such a large venue. It felt like they were running a convenience food operation. The food was lukewarm, from the goulash soup to the Tyrolean hash, and they weren't even able to serve warm bread when we asked for it. Non-alcoholic wheat beer was served in bottles, which was fine, but when we ordered a second bottle, they just brought another one and asked if we wanted to reuse the glass. All in all, it was really disappointing, and on top of that, the high prices – this combination just doesn't add up.

When my husband and I entered, the waiter greeted us and let us choose our preferred table. After we had sat down at one of the tables on the terrace, the waiter informed us that we had to leave and go downstairs because the terrace was empty. This greatly annoyed us, as there was no sign indicating that we were not allowed to sit there. The waiter saw us leaving angrily but showed no reaction or apology.

The food is alright. The prices are reasonable too. But what I can't understand, and why I'm not giving it more stars, is the constant, loud music. If I want to go to a disco, I'll go to a disco. I brought this up, and they told me I was the only one complaining and that I shouldn't bother the staff. Got it! I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending it.

We went there for brunch last Sunday. The atmosphere was lovely, and we had a great spot with the family. Everything looked delicious and very good. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one or two stars. -1 star for the meat dishes. They really weren't very good. Some were quite dry. -1 star for the service. The drinks took a little longer than expected. Otherwise, everyone was very friendly. All in all, highly recommended. It's quite pricey at €75 for two adults and one child, but you can treat yourself once a year, right? ;-)

The food was decent, but nothing special. Unfortunately, it was generally a bit dry. For the price, though, it was okay. Regarding the service, while the waiters don't necessarily have to have impeccable etiquette, basic things like letting the ladies order first and not clearing the table until everyone has finished eating should be standard practice. It could just have been an off day. Hard to say for sure.

Last Monday we ate at the Bavaria Alm. Since we live in Heinsberg, it's quite a drive. But because we wanted to try something new and we enjoy Bavarian/Austrian cuisine, we spent our anniversary there. I can highly recommend the restaurant, from the food to the service. All the dishes were delicious, and the bread for the appetizer arrived warm and crusty. The main course was also very tasty and beautifully presented. The ambiance made for a thoroughly enjoyable and wonderful evening!

We visited Bavaria Alm about three weeks ago. We had reserved a table, and despite it being a weekday, it was very crowded. All tables were occupied, and some unreserved newcomers were even asked to leave. The welcome was very friendly. The ambiance was lovely, with a fireplace. A big plus was the Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake). You can order it with several combinations, choosing your own. It tasted delicious. It was something different and a new experience. Because it was so crowded, the noise level was correspondingly high. The drinks service was extremely slow. We waited quite a while and had to keep asking the staff to get more. The same thing happened when paying. It was very hectic, but it must be said that the staff were extremely busy and yet still remained incredibly friendly and polite. In conclusion: We will definitely be back to try another Kaiserschmarrn combination.

The food was very, very good. However, the drinks service was incredibly slow. We practically had to beg for more drinks. The waitress was completely overwhelmed. She said she only had two arms! We would have drunk twice as much otherwise. It was a birthday party! In an hour and a half, we each only had two drinks. 🧐😵‍💫

The food was good. Drinks weren't ordered very often, and our mayonnaise order was forgotten. Unfortunately, we couldn't order it again because there was no server around until we had finished eating. The atmosphere is rustic and Bavarian, just as we expected.

We were very satisfied with the ambiance, food, and drinks. Only the long wait times plagued our entire visit. It started when we placed our order, where we had to wait about 15 minutes for a server. Then it was another 35 minutes or so before the food arrived. When we said we were ready to pay, another 10 minutes passed before someone came to our table to collect the bill. When someone did come to us, they were incredibly friendly, but seemed a bit rushed. Despite this, we would definitely come again, as the food was really delicious 👍. P.S. The restaurant was only about half full when we visited.

Food too expensive, price-performance ratio not quite right.

Yesterday I met a client for dinner at the Bavaria Alm. I was a little apprehensive at first because we had a complaint there a while back, but I informed the management. A big compliment to the Alm team; they responded very quickly to my complaint and rectified the problem immediately. I must say, the evening was perfect. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our reserved table. Our drink orders were taken with typical Bavarian friendliness, and we chose our meals from a varied menu of Bavarian specialties. The appetizer, the homemade bread, was fantastic. Oven-fresh, hot, and perfectly crusty with the ideal spread. The main course consisted of a small selection of sliced ​​veal, a pork knuckle, and a schnitzel with wild mushrooms. Everything was of the highest quality and very tasty. In conclusion, I must say that the Alm offers its usual beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, and hearty Bavarian cuisine. A visit is highly recommended.

A really great place with good beer and delicious food.

The service was somewhat difficult, probably due to insufficient staff! We certainly would have needed significantly more drinks for our group of 18, and we could have ordered one or two more desserts or coffees.

We wanted to eat here on a Sunday. I'm vegan and specifically checked the menu online beforehand. I found: Small Morning Meal €4.90 Gouda cheese, Italian salami or chicken breast, butter, rose-shaped roll. Vegan option available upon request with vegan cheese alternative and vegan cold cuts. However, when we arrived, they told us this was only available during the week; on weekends, it's a buffet. I then asked if there was anything vegan on the buffet. Unfortunately, there was nothing, and I couldn't order anything vegan from the menu because that wasn't possible until 1 p.m. Thanks, that was my only free weekend...

I ate Weisswurst, and the pretzel I ordered with it was fresh from the oven (a store-bought pretzel). It was piping hot. But to charge over €3.00 for that is a rip-off. It's a shame, the price/performance ratio is completely off.

The food tastes just like Grandma's. Amazing!

We hope it was just a snapshot in time, but the food quality and especially the service weren't as impressive as usual during our last visit. They also seem to be experiencing staff shortages, which were particularly noticeable when taking orders, serving drinks, and paying. I don't want to have to ask for the bill three times before finally being able to pay after waiting more than 30 minutes. The quality of the meat in the goulash wasn't up to par, and the red cabbage was also under-seasoned. Unfortunately, just average!

Unfortunately, we had to change the high table (due to one of my guests' health issues). Initially (at the high table), the staff was very attentive, but when we were kindly assigned another table, the service became rather slow. We had to make ourselves known several times so we could order our food. Then, when we complained (the food was already cold), it was briefly microwaved and brought back. It's a shame; on our last visits, everything was simply excellent, but unfortunately, on this midweek evening, it wasn't. 🤷‍♀️

We went to Sunday brunch for the first time today!!! Great, friendly, and hard-working team!! The food was very good, plentiful, and delicious. They constantly refilled our drinks, so we never missed anything!! Great, we'd love to come back :-)

The Bavaria Alm is simply a place to feel good! I had breakfast there – and what can I say: everything was fantastic! From the first coffee to the last bite, everything was just perfect. Fresh, delicious, plentiful – and so much so that you'd want to stay there all day (which wouldn't be a problem given the cozy atmosphere 😉). The decor is rustic but stylish – it almost feels like you're in a mountain hut, only without the steep climb beforehand. Everything is clean, welcoming, and made with love. A special compliment to the waiters: super friendly, attentive, and with a touch of humor – exactly how I like it! As a guest, you don't just feel served, but truly welcome. In short: If you don't leave here happy, you probably forgot to eat 😅 I'll definitely be back – whether for breakfast, lunch, or just for a bit of coziness!

We wanted to go out for a nice meal. Unfortunately, despite the waiters' promises, you have to chase after the individual components of your meal. Just because you order something together doesn't automatically mean the staff will deliver it. They also lie to you when you ask where the leftovers are. If you want to get annoyed while eating out, this is the place for you. The food that arrived at the table was tasty, though.

Great atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the beer was very drinkable. The prices were reasonable, too. If I'm ever in Mönchengladbach again, I'd be happy to stop by again, so I highly recommend the Bavaria Alm!

Great schnitzel, attentive service

I had a wonderful time at the Bavaria Alm. If you're feeling mountain sick, you can soak up that alpine feeling here. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and prompt. I found the drink prices exorbitant.

I've never been there in all these years. I was totally surprised by how cozy the restaurant is. The Tyrolean goulash was excellent. I would have loved to order everything; there are so many delicious things on the menu. The young waitress was also super nice. I would definitely stop here again if I'm in the area.

Visited again today. It was absolutely fantastic again! We would describe the ambiance as cozy/rustic. We can already highly recommend the Molle wooden trough and the beef roulade. We don't stare at other people's plates, so we don't want to reveal that the food on the neighboring tables also looked delicious. 😉 We highly recommend the Almen in Garbsen, Herne, and Mönchengladbach. These locations are currently relatively few and far between. Hopefully, this will change soon.

The brunch buffet offers a large and high-quality selection. Everything is quickly replenished when something runs out. The service is excellent, even though the restaurant is full! It tasted delicious! The price for the sumptuous brunch buffet is absolutely reasonable. Highly recommended! Reservations recommended.

The breakfast buffet was very good. It was refilled promptly, and even though it was full, we didn't have to wait long. I just think it's a shame that the contents of the closed containers weren't labeled. This meant we had to open every lid. Otherwise, everything was great!

The food is always delicious when you get it! The service leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes it's excellent, other times they forget to deliver a meal when you ordered for two people. They forgot to deliver without apology, but then came back when we asked. Last time we ordered the vegetarian broccoli dumplings, and we were told it would take half an hour. We ordered at 5:15 p.m. and didn't get the food until 6:05 p.m.? When you order a non-alcoholic banana wheat beer, the juice is always poured into a wheat beer glass, and the wheat beer (alcohol-free) is brought in a bottle. It's important to note that the juice doesn't rise to the top on its own; perhaps the staff should be retrained on this!

We were there last Saturday with 15 people. At first, orders were taken and served quickly. After just the second drink, we had to wait for a waiter to come. After that, I had to go to the counter twice to find anyone. This waiter asked me if we wanted to pay or if we wanted more drinks. I then asked him if I should write it down and then take our orders to the counter. That's completely unacceptable. The same goes for clearing the plates, even though some people were still eating. They even took plates away from two people who were eating on the other side of the table. That's completely unacceptable. We've been there several times, even with several people. We've never had anything like this before. However, you could tell that the staff there aren't trained, just semi-skilled workers. That's no fun.

The waiters were all friendly, although very busy. The food came to the table quickly. On Sunday evening, they ran out of eggs, but you could order something else for your meal. One negative point is the wait to pay.

Hello everyone. I'd like to share my experience at the Bavaria Alm. We decided to stop by for a bite to eat. We received a friendly welcome and were lucky; it wasn't too busy (Saturday afternoon, 3:00 p.m.). We placed our order, and the employee was very polite and friendly (I've had very different experiences). We ordered an apple strudel and a pan-fried Kaiserschmarrn. Everything was warm, even hot. Very delicious. We'd love to go back.

A very nice place for a family brunch, a birthday dinner, or simply a few pleasant hours. The service was very friendly and accommodating, and even my disabled mother (who uses a walker) and her assistance dog had no problem having breakfast or brunch there. The price/performance ratio is absolutely excellent! There's plenty of parking right outside the door; all in all, there's nothing to complain about! We'd love to go back!

We happened to pass by on our bikes one morning (Sunday, brunch time) and spontaneously got a table on the terrace. Very friendly and attentive service. The ambiance was actually nice, but I would have expected the ladies' restroom to be cleaner, especially in the morning. The food selection was pleasingly extensive and beautifully presented, but unfortunately, the taste wasn't what we expected. It was too bland for us, and some of the dishes were simply overcooked.

This was my first time at the Bavaria Alm in Mönchengladbach and I opted for the Löwensteak – and I wasn't disappointed! The meat was grilled to perfection, wonderfully juicy, with a flavorful seasoning that perfectly complements the rustic cuisine. It was accompanied by crispy fried potatoes, beautifully golden brown on the outside and soft on the inside – just as they should be. The braised onions and a pot of herb butter rounded it all off perfectly. A fresh salad with cucumber on the side provided the necessary refreshment. The ambiance was rustic and cozy, typical of an alpine pasture, and the service was friendly and prompt. With a cold beer to go with it – a truly wonderful meal! Conclusion: If you love hearty, home-style cooking, this is the place for you. The Löwensteak is a real recommendation!

We were there with a group, and it was simply pathetic. The food was quite tasty but relatively small considering a simple schnitzel costs over €20. The service was disastrous. You're ignored and insulted. They could have easily earned three or four more rounds of drinks from us if someone had come along in between. The waiter himself was decidedly unfunny and simply simple-minded. He gave other guests the middle finger and was extremely annoyed by everything. What a shame

We went there for dinner with four girls on Sunday. The service was super friendly, even when we made the reservation over the phone. It only got better when we got there; we were served by Sinem, and we were truly delighted. She was kind, attentive, and absolutely charming. The food was absolutely delicious and arrived quickly. All around, I highly recommend it.

We had dinner here this early evening. We really enjoyed it. It's very cozy, despite its size. The noise level is pleasant. The food is fantastic. The portions are generous, justifying the price. And Mo is simply the best! You can tell right away how much he enjoys his job. It's always nice to see such a friendly person in the restaurant industry. We'll be back.

Today, seven of us ate at the Bavaria Alm for the first time. Service regarding the reservation was excellent. Staff friendly. The food, okay, we've had better. Quite loud, but we could still have a conversation. Unfortunately, this will be the first and last time we eat there. We have no reason to eat there again. The price/performance ratio was rather disappointing.
