Großes Restaurant auf mehreren Ebenen verteilen sich die Plätze. Wir haben untern neben dem großen gläsernen Kamin gesessen. Das Ambiente ist in Anlehnung auf eine bayrische Almhütte gestaltet. Das Essen ist bayrisch inspiriert und gut. Auch das bayrische Bier im Angebot ist lecker. Der Service war schnell und freundlich.

Ate here again after 2 years. Everything used to be really great here, but this time it was a complete disappointment. From the beginning, the waitress tried to talk you into everything possible. ("The boss demands this from us.") We then ordered drinks. Passion fruit spritzer tasted like cheap syrup with stale water, the Bavarian Löwenbräu also tasted strange. As an appetizer, chili cheese croquettes were offered - completely untypical for Bavaria and an Alpine pasture. These frozen balls were fried beyond recognition. There was no chili to be found at all and the cheese tasted like it came from the soles of my feet. When the main courses were served, we all just looked at each other in surprise and silence. We didn't know such ridiculously small portions here in the past. The individual components in the “pans” gave the visual impression that they were all weighed to the nearest gram. The taste suggested that it was warmed up goods from plastic bags. That's not what I expect in a place like this! The prices were also significantly increased for the much smaller portions of very poor quality. You used to find mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise on the tables. This is also now only available for a fee. The men's toilet was also not clean, it smelled strongly of urine. I can only hope that people at least pay attention to hygiene in the kitchen. When paying with a card, you can then decide how much of a tip you would like to give. When the waitress asked whether the tip would ultimately reach her, she simply shrugged her shoulders with a wink. If I feel like Bavarian cuisine in the future, I'd rather book a flight to Munich and eat at a nice pub there, which will cost about the same. The Bavaria Alm definitely lost for me. To the owner: Please refrain from making any prefabricated standard comments on my review in which you completely regret everything and vow to improve. You can read that here in reviews - some of which are years old - so I couldn't take it seriously. My suggestion would be: just do it!

Long wait for someone to come to take the order. Then another very long wait to pay the bill. The pork knuckle is good, but the beef roulade and the Tyrolean Gröstl are both extremely dry. The ribs aren't warm enough either, I was pretty disappointed.

We spontaneously went out for dinner with 4 people around 8 p.m. and it was a great evening. Delicious food and friendly service. Even though it was quite busy, everything went quickly. A waitress also came regularly to order drinks. I can highly recommend Alm Spritz. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a vacation and we really liked it. Large menu at reasonable prices. The only small point of criticism: I had Kaiserschmarn as dessert. The portion was very clear. That could have been a little more, as it was very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Nice Bavarian style restaurant! When we want to go out to eat spontaneously, we often head to the Bavaria Alm in Mönchengladbach. A nice restaurant, especially visually, with reasonable food and good and very friendly service! I can recommend, among other things, the Viennese style schnitzel! Sitting inside and outside is very comfortable, although most of the seating is made of wood (without cushions), which isn't a problem if you're staying <2 hours, but should still be taken into account. The restaurant is busy - especially on weekends - so reservations are recommended for larger groups. There are plenty of free parking spaces and the connection to the motorway is excellent. We'd love to come back!

Hello, we have been coming here for years. Unfortunately, we also notice that the service is completely understaffed. Unfortunately, drinks couldn't be reordered because no one came. The mushroom schnitzel also leaves a lot to be desired. The sauce wasn't enough for me personally and I couldn't order more because no one came. The mushrooms also tasted very much like they had come from a jar and were not fresh. The salad didn't have enough dressing. We don't know it from previous visits. Unfortunately, a new visit is out of the question for now.

Meat was quite tough. Salad was great. Fried potatoes were tasty. Overall, the meat was disappointing.

Very attentive and friendly staff, but in my opinion this is absolutely not enough for the number of customers. So it was difficult to reorder drinks & quite a few glasses & our empty plates were on the table almost the whole evening. The food was absolutely not recommended.

After my visit to Bavaria Alm yesterday, I don't really know where to start. First of all, the staff (the only slightly positive point), this restaurant is unfortunately massively understaffed and it is sometimes really difficult to reorder drinks or anything else. Plates and empty glasses were not picked up during our entire visit (only towards the end, when dessert would normally have been ordered). In my opinion, the blame for this does not lie with the staff, because the young ladies who work here were really hard-working and very friendly, but there were simply not enough staff. To eat: The food was relatively expensive but, in my opinion, extremely bad. Here the cheapest frozen goods are thrown into the deep fryer. The Rösti had a consistency like a pancake and everything just tasted like (old) fat. The schnitzel was definitely frozen and also tasted almost exclusively of fat. The bread that came with the salad with salmon was extremely soggy and mushy. My mother had massive cramps all evening after eating the salmon salad here. I can't say for sure whether it was because of the food here. About the ambience: You try to achieve the ambience of an alpine pasture here, which actually works quite well. However, in many places you can notice that this location is getting old and that it hasn't been modernized for a long time. This is particularly noticeable in the almost 100% halogen lighting, which has defective bulbs in many places and lights up permanently, even in bright sunshine. Conclusion: I will never visit this restaurant again, the food was bad and expensive, the staff is absolutely overloaded because there are too many customers for too few staff. In my personal opinion, definitely not a recommendation.

Hungry, we stopped by there spontaneously last week. Ate delicious roast pork that was so tender that you didn't need a knife. I was sitting outside and the furniture could use a little freshening up. Inside it looks very quaint. The service was a bit slow, which could have been due to the shift change. But staff very friendly. Good value for money. So gladly again.

The atmosphere is nice, the food was good on the first and second visits, the service was always friendly but always overwhelmed. Now then third visit. 6 p.m., spontaneous, no reservation. At the entrance we were kindly asked if we could have a table outside. Yes, of course, choose one. After 15 minutes I go in and ask provocatively but friendly if there is self-service outside. No, I'm coming right away. Then a friendly young girl comes with a huge tray, places it on an empty table and first provides each table with individual drinks. At some point she takes our order, but doesn't clear away the previous guests' empty glasses. Food and drinks come “quickly” after another 15 minutes. The large bottle of water comes with one glass, but the second one doesn't come that evening despite asking. Both fried meats were bone dry, but the fries were good. After asking twice, we went inside to pay. Horrible. There is no 4 try.

Today for brunch with 4 people. Conclusion: mixed. The restaurant itself: cozy and appealing. Service: very friendly and attentive. Choice for breakfast: good, plentiful, tasty. Warm dish: Roast pork dry until no longer possible. Pollock: through. Plus dry rice. Peas/carrots: fresh from the can, unseasoned. Didn't try soup. The cold salads were well cut, tomatoes, cucumbers: everything bite-sized 😉. Dessert ok fresh fruit, yoghurt, quark and red jelly. All in all, the price/performance ratio doesn't fit at all, especially since drinks come on-top. In a Bavarian restaurant I would expect more Bavarian food in the hot dishes. Not again

The evaluation of a restaurant is usually subjective and individual... We organized a small birthday party in the Alm for 12 people. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the service was attentive and helpful with special requests 🤗 I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Alm team! Keep it up!

Unfortunately the food was cold (goulash and spaetzle) and with few guests we had to wait a long 1.5 hours for the second drink. Weak with only 10 people in the room. This is much better!

I like to use it for a coffee chat with my girlfriend.

This was our third time at Bavaria Alm for dinner and overall we were semi-satisfied. What we found good: The service is always nice, friendly and honest when it comes to recommendations. The ambience is really nicely decorated and the “Bavarian flair” actually comes across as authentic. The homemade lemonades are generally delicious, but it really depends on your own taste. What we didn't like: We were eating in a large group and got the long hidden table near the men's room. Hidden because we had to wait more than half an hour for service even though the place didn't look particularly busy. The chairs and bench were very hard and uncomfortable, and some of us had back pain after a short time. The food didn't impress us on our last visit, but before that it was okay. The schnitzel was very greasy and the breading wasn't crispy. The cheese spaetzle and the chicken slices were very bland and had to be heavily salted. The spaetzle were also very wet, which made the cream sauce taste watery. The biggest disappointment, however, were the Röstis or potato pancakes and the Kaiserschmarrn. The hash browns tasted like cardboard. Dry, firm and no shredded potatoes to be seen. The Kaiserschmarrn was also dry and not particularly tasty. Conclusion: The food doesn't live up to the price. The charm lies more in the ambience and the opportunity to spend the evening socially in large groups and drink a beer or two.

Unfortunately, someone seems to have unpacked their “greed is awesome” backpack. What was otherwise part of the usual cozy atmosphere on the Alm, that ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard were simply added, we now found these things on our bill without being asked / uninformed. When we asked, we were told “because of the VAT”. Please? Apart from the fact that the VAT is back to normal, it is absolutely unacceptable that no one informs about something like this, and there is no information anywhere, after all, that has always been the case. - just adding that to the bill doesn't work at all. It is also absurd to only write total items on the invoice and other items without individual prices, so that the customer has small additional costs such as: A tiny salad for EUR 4.50 obviously shouldn't attract attention. Yes, overall this new species annoyed us a lot. So much so that we will now offset the VAT provision with our absence.

We were in the Bavaria Alm in the evening on June 6th, 2024. We were thrilled by the ambience. You feel comfortable and it's a nice mix of traditional and modern. We had a nice place by the fireplace, but - and that's okay - it was out. When the young and friendly waitress took our order, we were in good spirits. We decided on the roasted bread burger, which I ordered, and the broccoli cheese dumplings, which my wife chose. The service staff kindly pointed out that the dumpling would take a little longer to prepare. When the food was brought to the table, I was very disappointed with the appearance of the roasted bread burger. It was a loveless, grumbled something. I would like to highlight the bread here. It was well toasted and tasted good too. But now to the rest...The meat was a disaster! A thin, pressed, half-warm substance that doesn't really deserve the word meat! A listlessly placed piece of lettuce and mmmhhhhhh...that was it!? The last time I HAD to eat such a mass was at Ballermann at 4 a.m. and only because hunger didn't allow it any other way. I also like it at Ballermann for €3.50! In such a cool hut, I feel cheated for €13.80. The spiciness we ordered for the burger - but it wouldn't have saved it either - never found its way to our table. The herb butter!? (where was it actually) The alpine spread (must have been completely lost), yes, the whole presentation and presentation was the lowest ballerman corner! The only positive thing to mention is the fries... but I can get them at any "Aunt Hilda snack stand" for less money. That's simply not possible for this price!!! The dumpling was really good! Everything was fine, but you can also discuss the price. When I was a little surprised about the (burger) and my pressed meat platter when I was paying, all I got was "Yes, we hear that a lot here, I wouldn't eat the burger that way either" at the end!!! No accommodation, no "We're sorry, can we offer anything to compensate" Nothing! And that's what tops it all off...I don't understand something like that at all! Conclusion: Even if we lived nearby, we wouldn't come back for such a performance - mind you, this is about the "burger", the dumpling was really very good! The 3 stars overall are thanks to the ambience. Please take this seriously and change something! It would be a great shame if resistance to criticism meant that what was actually a good concept would fail.

What's going on in the Alm? We were there for brunch yesterday. It started with no one coming to get drinks. Twice I went to the waitress and asked if we could order drinks. After 35 minutes someone came. Apologized and said a coffee was on him, ok. Then we noticed that nothing was being cleared away and that people had to stack the empty glasses at the window. We also put the empty plates on the neighboring table. When something was brought, nothing empty was taken with it. Furthermore, neither the cold cuts, nor Nutella, nor the rolls nor the soup were refilled. The soup was ice cold and there were only dumplings with no liquid. When the waitress asked me if everything was OK, I raised the points and was told, yes, did you let me know? Yes, I said the Nutella was empty, but that's probably not my job to say, please fill up with sausage, cheese, soup, rolls, etc. here. So what is that? We were very disappointed and we won't be coming back for a while.

You can do it, but it won't blow your mind. The portions are small and seem a little economical (especially with the usually cheaper side dishes) for hefty prices. The quality is quite ok. Basically, I think it's good to pay a reasonable price for a good piece of meat, but the side salad or fries/fried potatoes are very economical on the plate. Also other dishes such as: Käsespätzle are rather small portions and processed sparingly with cheese. When I order CHEESE spaetzle I don't want spaetzle with cheese😉 Why do you pay extra for a few fried onions on the pasta??? Will there soon be an extra charge for the lemon with the schnitzel? The atmosphere is nice and the staff are very quick. Reservation worked well. You can do it once but come back... I can do the dishes better at home! You have to know

The ambience is very nice. The waitress wasn't very attentive, she put the non-alcoholic drinks on the table without asking who was getting what, then she disappeared with the words: the beer is coming soon. Coming soon meant waiting around 10 to 15 minutes. The dishes weren't hot. There was exactly half a mushroom in my hunter sauce and if this sauce was homemade the cook still has a lot to learn. The sweet mustard was missing with the white sausages. The breading on the schnitzel was far too greasy for me. Overall, our food was much expensive for the quality.

I had ordered goulash soup and the pieces of meat that you would find in goulash soup were not there. There was something resembling flesh in it, undefinable. There were lots of potato cubes in it. Potato soup with goulash flavor would be perfect. The salad had a blob of dressing at the bottom of the bowl, but you couldn't get to it properly because of the small bowl. It was a small side salad, I wanted to eat something “healthy” with the soup. The drinks were good (ski water), the service was satisfactory, but there was still room for improvement, so we were completely satisfied. The food was just not right. The price performance wasn't right here. A pity.

We were here for lunch. We hadn't made a reservation, but we were asked about it, even though a maximum of half of the tables were occupied. It first had to be clarified whether a table was available. After we were at the table, we had to wait about 15 minutes before we could order drinks. Then it took another 10 minutes for them to be brought to the table. During this time the food order was taken. After the food came, which had deteriorated in quality, you can no longer speak of a good price-performance ratio. For example, the knuckles were very dry, although we had the feeling that one was from the day before. Almost everything lacked flavor (spices) and my sauerkraut was almost cold. There wasn't much going on, so I can't understand why you order a 0.5 glass and get a 0.3 glass. But the big thing is on the bill. The difference was deducted, but that's still not a service. Until now we were enthusiastic about the Bavaria Alm, but that has changed today. We won't be going here anymore for the time being.

Food and drinks took a very long time, guests who came after us had their food beforehand, Grana Pandano dumplings came without Grana Pandano, it was only pointed out when they were brought... Reservation requests (please not in the middle for a birthday party, rather at the edge) will be ignored or cannot be planned days in advance. I'm really surprised by the high score here. The evening started with the pre-order of the table not being in the book. We were seated at a table with seven people where conversation was hardly possible. Ordering drinks was slow. The meal took even longer. Other guests who arrived after us were served much more quickly. I had a Jägerschnitzel. The so-called mushroom sauce was watery and the mushrooms were shot. The salad was noticeably lacking in dressing. When I asked about lemon with the schnitzel, my bartender had to wait forever. Drink reordering was also slow. The staff skillfully walked past our table, ignoring the empty glasses. It was also relatively empty when we were there, around 4:30 p.m. We didn't experience the advertised friendliness and good mood. In any case, none of us will eat here again. It was particularly disappointing because it was a birthday dinner and two guests came especially from the Eifel.

I ate there today with my husband, I was always very happy there, but today it was a disaster. We both had a Jägerschnitzel in the sauce, there were 2 mushrooms in it, otherwise there were more savings on the sauce and I had mashed potatoes with it, which looked like If there were dry spots in it from the day before, like you know from mashed potatoes from the day before and you're asking for almost €21 for that, at the next table they asked if everything was ok. We didn't even ask. I always liked going there, but from now on I'll avoid going there to go (we were there around 4 p.m.)

It's really nice in terms of location. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, but hasn't changed in a long time, hence only three stars. The service is good, but when it's busy you need a little patience. The minus point is that there are now glasses with water on the buffet in which you have to put the serving forks and spoons. When I saw the broth in the glass, I politely declined. If so, please change them regularly or rather put out new cutlery regularly.
