Incredibly unfriendly to customers with children present. We left the restaurant early because the waitress present indirectly and disgustingly made us understand that we weren't welcome. Used to be a happy customer here, but not anymore. Find decent and friendly staff. Disgusting.

Nach einer schroffen Begrüßung der gestressten Chef-Kellnerin bediente uns eine freundlichere junge Servicekraft und brachte drei leckere Gerichte und leckere Getränke. Halt am Wochenende doppelt so teuer wie die Mittagskarte, die aushängt. Aber das Ambiente ist gut, und die Speisen gut gemacht, mit frischen Zutaten. Ein gemütliches Restaurant, vielleicht noch netter und entspannter während der Woche. Tip: Die günstige Mittagskarte am Wochenende aus dem Kasten nehmen...

My daughter invited me there before an event at the Ostseehalle. I thought the ambiance was fantastic 😍. A lot of thought went into it. You really felt like you were in that country. I've never eaten sushi outside before and probably won't eat anywhere else, as the atmosphere was just right. That's why I don't understand why some people only gave the ambiance 4 stars. I give them 5 stars everywhere. You can even watch the sushi rolls being prepared. And the way they're presented is simply wow. As we were about to leave, an employee came to a table for 6 or 8 with a sailboat full of sushi. It looked so beautiful and spectacular, far too good to eat. I had a bowl. Super delicious and not exactly small. The price/performance ratio was right. When I didn't know one or two of the vegetables and asked about them, they kindly told me. I'll definitely be back. I was there a few months ago, but I've been there twice already. It was a bit loud, especially with screaming children, but otherwise quite nice, and the seating was comfortable. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and all in all, I highly recommend it!

Lovely Asian restaurant with amazingly low prices 👍😊 crispy shrimps with vegetables and rice -🥢🍛 and beef with ditto 🙏🍀 the curved wooden bridge in the middle of the room is an atmospheric detail 😀🏆 it is busy at lunch and serving therefore took a while. It was a bit loud due to the busyness. However, tips are well deserved for the smiling and friendly female waiter 💪🤓 thank you very much for a lovely lunch 🙏

We spontaneously reserved a table on Saturday evening and enjoyed a delicious meal there. The staff is very friendly. The selection of Japanese dishes is extensive, and there are also several vegetarian options. The atmosphere and ambiance were cozy. There are tables of various sizes for groups of 2 to 6 people.

At the moment, I can only give it a well-intentioned 3 stars, as the curry now tastes completely different and not as delicious as usual. This time I had beef, which was prepared more in the Chinese style (slimy on the outside, apparently marinated in baking soda, not enjoyable) 😒. This style of preparation is the reason why I no longer go to Chinese restaurants, but to Vietnamese restaurants instead, because this doesn't usually happen there, as Vietnamese friends (restaurant owners) have assured me. Presumably, the new chef used to work in a Chinese restaurant. The sauce was also different, with less coconut milk than usual.

We were thoroughly impressed by the excellent cuisine and the friendly, attentive service. We particularly enjoyed the koi area and the attractive lighting. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. If we return to Kiel, we'll definitely be back.

Regular customer; extremely satisfied for years, even compared to other Japanese restaurants... This restaurant is primarily distinguished by its dishes. They are not only served with an artistic look, but also stand out for their fresh and wholesome ingredients (especially for customers with sensitive stomachs). Accordingly, the dishes are very reasonably priced, and the lunch menu is especially worthwhile... The staff is courteous and precise; waiting times are rather short, but still commensurate with the number of customers. The only drawback: orders are sometimes taken incorrectly. If visited at the right time, the restaurant has a pleasantly quiet atmosphere with a classic Japanese style. During peak times, the mood changes from pleasant and stylish to loud and lively; unfortunately, this ambiance no longer corresponds to what I personally expect as a guest from a Japanese sushi restaurant. A little insider tip in this case are the sunken tables on the second floor... Overall, even after numerous comparisons, the sushi restaurant is my personal favorite for the reasons mentioned, especially in terms of the quality-to-price ratio... A visit, even for a first glimpse into Japanese cuisine, is highly recommended. Recommended dishes: Spring rolls, sake tempura roll, sake set, sake aburi, crunchi roll, sashimi, sakura grilled chicken (large platters and lunch menu in general)...

17th Apr 2025 feedback: Booked table for 7.30pm, went there 10 min before still waiter is searching where they can fit us in :( Food - the system is full messed up. Lisbon Sakura is way much better than this one in Kiel. They give you paper to fill, and there is no assurance that you will get all the order you requested for. Service - really really bad. Please go to Lisbon Sakura (all outlets) and experience the service yourself. Waaaaaaay much better than here. Atmosphere - not that great but doable. I will save my SAKURA craving until I go back to Portugal 🤣 never coming here again!

My second visit to Sakura was perfect. The soup was delicious, the sushi was excellent, the staff were all very friendly. We'd love to come back!

Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die eine angenehme Zeit mit der Familie oder Freunden suchen.👍 Ein Tipp vorab: lieber einmal mit der Speisekarte bzw. dem Thema Sushi auseinandersetzen um zu verstehen, was man bestellt. 🚪Erstmal zum Einlass: die gesamte Bar ist faszinierend kunstvoll und authentisch nach der Kultur eingerichtet und dekoriert. Selbst wenn man nicht zum Essen käme, würde für mein Empfinden alleine die Einrichtung dazu einladen, dort Zeit zu verbringen. Wir wurden direkt an der Tür höflich begrüßt und auf einen Platz hingewiesen. ⏱️Service und Wartezeit: Kurz nachdem wir Platz genommen haben wurden uns die Speisekarten überreicht. Nach ca. 5-10 Minuten fragte man uns, ob wir unsere Bestellung aufgeben möchten. 🍙Zubereitung(sdauer) und Essen: Den negativen Bewertungen kann ich mich in keinster Weise anschließen. Wer schnelles Essen sucht, sollte nach einem kleineren Lokal suchen. Wir waren das erste Mal hier und was wir wahrgenommen haben, ist dass sich für ausnahmslos jeden Gast die benötigte Zeit genommen wurde - vor allem bei der Zubereitung. Natürlich kann es an hektischen Tagen mal zu Fehlern kommen, natürlich muss auch ein Preis/-Leistungsverhältnis gegeben sein. Aber man muss eben auch ein gewisses Maß an Verständnis mitbringen. Die Bedienung war angenehm aufmerksam und kam immer dann zu uns, wenn sie das Gefühl, hatte wir brauchen etwas. Wenn einem das Essen dann serviert wird, versteht man, warum die Zubereitung Zeit braucht. Innerhalb von 30-40 Minuten wurde uns das Essen vollständig serviert. Jede Bestellung war unfassbar liebevoll hergerichtet und so frisch, wie sie nur sein konnte. Das schmeckt man auch raus.👍 Für Besucher, die regelmäßig Sushi essen ist es vielleicht nicht mehr so besonders wie für uns, trotzdem können wir nur durchweg positiv sprechen. Für mich war der Abend als Geburtstagsgeschenk für meine Schwester gedacht und wird auch so lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Ein kleiner Tipp noch ans Restaurant: die moderne KPOP-Musik konnte der Schönheit eurer Bar nicht gerecht werden, hier würde ich, vor allem, um die Ruhe der Gäste zu bewahren eher auf klassische Musik setzen. 11/10, wir kommen wieder! :)

The prices are average, I thought it would be more expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised. It tastes very elegant. I ate soup, and the guy ate sushi, we were very pleased, the cocktails were also delicious

Food great, speed great, staff great, drinks great, toilets clean! Due to the narrowness of the tables, one star was deducted, the coziness was somewhat lacking. We will be back and would be happy to recommend it!

The sushi is good and you can't complain about the price-performance ratio. However, it is best to make a reservation on the weekend to avoid waiting.

Great restaurant, great service. Unfortunately it was a bit noisy due to the high number of visitors. But that also shows its high popularity. I chose the sushi buffet for €27.90 and two homemade iced teas for €5.90 each. Sushi was very tasty and there were new variations that I didn't know that also tasted very good. The staff was very quick and friendly. I'm no sushi expert but this is one of my favorites so far.

A top sushi restaurant. Always super tasty and great. Everything on the menu is recommended. The absolute eye-catcher are the ships that come to the tables filled with sushi.

We have often been here to eat sushi. In the meantime we like to prepare a starter soup. Everything is always beautifully prepared and very tasty at the same time. A very nice atmosphere can be found on the 1st floor.

Such a failure. Ordered food to pick up, including a Sakura Sushi Bowl with crispy duck meat. The menu says “Rice bowl with edamame beans, crisp lettuce, avocado-tomato topping, soybean sprouts and sesame” I got dry rice, duck and a simple small salad with no sauce/dressing. Avocado, edamame, tomato and sesame were completely missing. Then we went back specifically to get 20g of edamame and a few slices of avocado in my hand. Never again

Delicious Asian food in Kiel city center.

A few days ago I ate salmon with cream cheese and ebi tempura. My salmon smelled pretty bad and the shrimp were raw too. I got a stomach ache that same day and the next day I vomited 14 times with fever and everything. Sakura was my favorite restaurant but I guess I won't set foot there again.

A great restaurant in the middle of the city. The restaurant is on two floors with plenty of seating! Sushi is all you can eat on two days! Highly recommended but definitely make a reservation and possibly be prepared for longer waiting times! Very friendly staff and the sushi is delicious! 👍

Best quality at a normal price with the best ambience. Unfortunately no more ramen noodle soup, these were the best ramen in all of Kiel.

Like every year on New Year's Eve, ordered a large platter to pick up. This year it was Sakura Mix. With the request that the maki be made without fish if possible, i.e. only vegetarian. When I got home I noticed that all the maki with fish were sake or tuna. The evening had already progressed so far that the restaurant was already closed. An annoying experience, as the taste has deteriorated over the years. The fried pieces of sushi were quite soggy. All in all, the price-performance ratio was not justified in my stay. It's a shame, but I'll be ordering my sushi somewhere else in the future.

Éramos 3 personas almorzando con 3 platos diferentes y en todos ellos fueron bastante decepcionantes. Teniendo visiteret 50 + diferentes restaurantes de sushi en muchos países diferentes, este fue probablemente el más flojo y de peor calidad entre ellos. La camarera era bastante antipática. El tiempo de espera y la habitación estaba bien, aparte de las moscas del plátano. Pero no era caro... normalmente recibes lo que pagas pero en este caso tenemos menos.

Unfriendly service, banana flies everywhere, the tuna in my sushi was a mysterious tuna mousse, the sushi was tasteless and the seaweed was tough.

At Sakura you can get very tasty all-you-can-eat sushi at a fair price. You can easily order using the tick cards. Practical; On a separate sheet you can see all available types of sushi and other delicacies (e.g. gyoza, edamame or spring rolls) at a glance in clear pictures. The service is good, clears empty plates quickly and takes new order slips quickly. However, this sometimes depends on the seat. In the back of the restaurant it sometimes takes a little longer to get rid of your new order slip. Unfortunately, it is sometimes very loud, which is due to the open room concept. When the place is busy, it's hard to have a conversation. Still a great restaurant, I come here regularly and enjoy the old and new sushi variants.

Very nicely furnished, especially the "fish pond" is impressive and creates a great ambience. The waitresses are nice, but difficult to find if something is missing from the table. The lunch menu is delicious and plentiful. It was great when a juice spritzer was included in the price. . .

Certainly the best Japanese restaurant in Kiel, maybe even in Schleswig-Holstein. Service is great, the food is exceptional and pricing is fair. If you want good sushi, this is the place to go in Kiel.

We have really liked Sakura for a long time. We particularly often visit the all you can eat. The sushi tastes very good and the selection of accompanying food (starters and desserts) is also large. The employees are always friendly and keep an eye on all guests. The atmosphere is cozy and designed for different group sizes. We'll always be happy to come back, thank you very much!

Solid service in an okay atmosphere with good food.

Leider waren wir nicht begeistert. Musik aus dem Lautsprecher zu laut und von der Musikrichtung unpassend. Suppe war viel zu salzig. Wokgemüse in der Bowl war nicht knackig und bissfest sondern zerkocht. Am Ende doch ein eher sehr ernüchternder Abend.

Service was exceptional, all friendly and so kindly hardworking. Young gentleman offered to help package my meal, with additional broth. It wasn’t quite there but importantly the thought was very sincere and genuine as I wasn’t expecting at all regardless.

Nice restaurant and the sushi was delicious. The portions were enough for us but certainly a little small for really good eaters (we had a plate for 2 people). Service was top. Priced in the upper average range. It was fun and tasty, but we wouldn't go there again, but there are plenty of more interesting alternatives.

Wir hatten unseren Girls day& richtig Hunger auf Sushi .(wir essen gerne und oft Sushi) Von außen wie innen sah alles sehr einladend aus. Die Bedienung wirkte leider recht genervt&unfreundlich(aber sicher hatte sie nur wieder einen schlechten Tag ) Klar sind alles Menschen, aber auch ich arbeite mit Menschen & an einem schlechten Tag muss man einfach auch da professionell sein. Trinken bestellt, es kam geliefert & schon aus 2 Meter Entfernung sah ich das ein Glas mit 3 !!!Lippenstiftabdrücken versehen war. Habe direkt gesagt das ich gerne ein neues bekommen möchte. Ohne eine Entschuldigung dafür zu bekommen ( denn wenn es einem wichtig ist, würde man dies tun)wurde es getauscht. Dennoch tranken wir unser Wasser lieber aus der Flasche . Vorweg haben wir Edamame mit Meersalz bestellt (Meersalz suchte man vergeblich)Ich habe noch nie so aufgeweichte & schlechte Edamame gegessen (vermutlich vorgekocht& lange im heißen Wasser gelagert oder in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt) Ich wollte mit Stäbchen essen(es gibt dort wiederverwendbare Plastikstäbchen)… diese waren ebenfalls nicht sauber & mit Essensresten vom vorherigen Gast versehen. Meine Tochter hat ihr Sushi dann mit den Fingern gegessen, da sie sich sehr geeckelt hat. Wir hatten vegetarisches Maki mit Avocado & Gurke,Lachs& Garnelen Maki. Der Seetang war sehr gummiartig. Die Gurke war bereits angetrocknet. Mein Maki mit Lachs war ebenfalls geschredderter Lachs.(wie bereits in einer anderen Bewertung geschrieben) Kurzum gab es um 16:00 Uhr für uns vermutlich bereits lange im Voraus vorbereitetes Sushi. Das Sushi von Edeka ist da ungelogen tausend mal frischer und leckerer!!! Die Toilette sieht auf den ersten Blick recht modern aus, auf den 2. Blick spiegelt sich die Sauberkeit auch dort nicht positiv wieder. Bei der Zahlung mit ec Karte wurde mir nur die Seite zum kontaktlosen bezahlen hin gehalten. Ich sehe gerne was auf dem Display steht, immer!!!Wo auch gesagt wurde ich brauche keine Sorge haben das da was falsche steht. Bin der Meinung, es kann immer aus Versehen passieren das man eine Zahl zu viel eintippt.Daher checke ich immer das Display … aber auch da fühlten sie sich auf den Schlips getreten. Klar wir waren um 16 Uhr essen, aber gerade dann, wenn nur 3 Tische besetzt sind ,erwarte ich frisch zubereitetes Sushi( & es war mehr als genug Personal anwesend, welches hinterm Tresen am Handy beschäftigt waren) Meinem Bauch ging es am Abend ebenfalls nicht wirklich gut!!! Ich kann mich den anderen Bewertungen von vor 2-3 Wochen anschließen& verstehe die positiven Bewertungen nicht! Für uns kein 2. Besuch wert. Und negative Bewertungen werden sich hier anscheinend nur online zu Herzen genommen.

We were really hungry for sushi on our girls day. (we like to eat sushi often) Everything looked very inviting from the outside and inside. Unfortunately the service seemed quite annoyed and unfriendly (but I'm sure she was just having another bad day) Of course they are all people, but I also work with people & on a bad day you just have to be professional there too. Ordered a drink, it was delivered and from 2 meters away I saw that a glass had 3 !!!lipstick marks on it. I said straight away that I would like to get a new one. Without receiving an apology (because if it was important to you, you would do this) it was exchanged. Nevertheless, we preferred to drink our water from the bottle. First of all, we ordered edamame with sea salt (we looked for sea salt in vain). I have never eaten such soggy and bad edamame (probably pre-cooked and stored in hot water for a long time or warmed up in the microwave) I wanted to eat with chopsticks (they have reusable plastic chopsticks)… these were also not clean and had leftover food from the previous guest. My companion then ate her sushi with her fingers because she was very disgusted. We had vegetarian maki with avocado & cucumber, salmon & shrimp maki. The seaweed was very rubbery. The cucumber was already dried out. My maki with salmon was also shredded salmon. (as already written in another review) In short, in the afternoon we probably had sushi that had been prepared well in advance. Edeka's sushi is, without a lie, a thousand times fresher and tastier!!! The toilet looks quite modern at first glance, but at second glance the cleanliness is not reflected positively there either. When paying with a card, I was only shown the contactless payment page. I like to see what's on the display, always!!! Whatever it says, I don't have to worry about something being wrong. I'm of the opinion that it can always happen by mistake that you type in one too many numbers. That's why I always check the display... but even then they felt like they were being taken for a ride. Sure we were There in the afternoon, but you can expect fresh sushi to be served within opening hours, especially when only 3 tables are occupied (there were more than enough staff present who were busy behind the counter on their cell phones) My stomach wasn't feeling really well that evening either!!! I can agree with the other reviews from 2-3 weeks ago & don't understand the positive reviews! Not worth a second visit for us. And negative reviews seem to only be taken to heart online.
