SAKURA Sushi Cafe in Frankfurt am Main

Super bad! Sushi rolls were only partially freshly prepared, fried sushi rolls came cold and not crunchy - seemed old and from the day before. When asked, the only answer was that it depends on when the roll was fried. Funny, exactly our sense of humor. Apparently not fresh, because cold and inedible. In the case of three kinds of fish, the tuna was served in inedible quality (it was gray and didn't taste good) - leaving one left over in the case of three small fish fillets and not asking if you didn't like it is the icing on the cake of poor service. We pointed out that the tuna didn't taste fresh... he didn't take advantage of his chance to bring a new tuna, on the contrary - the restaurant manager seemed uncomfortably stressed and confused. In general there is not a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, the light is far too bright and the hectic atmosphere means we will never come back. It's surprising how the good rating has come about so far - the restaurant is disappointing across the board.

Went only for the Matcha Tiramisu as my boyfriend loves it - he was not disappointed again. Service was very attentive and quick! We sat in the back "yard" with a heater and it was really cozy.

Sakura Sushi Café here in Frankfurt offers a pleasant atmosphere with delicious, attractively brewed coffee. The sushi selection is fresh and satisfying, but could be more varied, especially with the fish sushi options. The prices are slightly above average. Overall, it's a nice place for a casual sushi meal, although the menu is more limited compared to other sushi restaurants in the area.

Great Japanese restaurant with extremely attentive and friendly service. Sushi, wine and dessert were delicious and the atmosphere is cozy with atmospheric music. We would love to come back - even for special occasions :)

2024年8月11日（日）に夫婦で夕食でお邪魔しました。フランクフルト2日目でしたが、ホテルへ戻る時に通りかかって、ドイツ人で一杯の奇麗な和食店に魅了されて、事前にその晩の予約をしました（英語で予約に入ったのですが「日本人お方ですか？」と声をかけられ、ほっとしました）。予約時間に再度訪れ、ビール、赤ワイン、枝豆、カラマリ、ナス田楽、エビマヨロール、お寿司を頂きました。海外で日本食を食べることは何度も経験していますが、「SAKURA」さんの和食のクオリティーはとっても高く、とっても美味しかったです。店長さんもとても気さくでお優しく（色々なお話を聞けました）、素晴らしいお店です。知人がフランクフルトへ行く事があれば必ずお薦めします。ドイツ人が枝豆を食べながらビールを飲んでいる姿には何故か微笑んでしまいました。本当に有難うございました！

Lovely sushi restaurant with an outside area which is shared with the dim sum place next door. The food was delicious (between us, we ordered 2x mixed platters of sushi, some starters and drinks).

Decent sushi and dumplings with a food price. On the downside, there's no variety of beer (only small portions of Asian beer). Also, the terrace roof was leaking in the rain

Very nicely made and very tasty if you like Japanese food. If necessary, just let it be a surprise. 👍 The menu has changed a bit (bowls and curry were added), we ate the multi-course sushi/sashimi menu. Requests for changes were responded to very nicely. Tea also tastes very tasty. Very modern interpretation of (vegetable) tempura Map changes again in September

Lovely cute place with nice outdoor seating in the backyard sharing with the Chinese restaurant next door. Sushi is tasty but not authentic enough… sushi price is ok, however the drinks are more expensive. Maybe I had too high expectation on food from the high rating and therefore a little disappointed, but overall good experience, friendly staffs, good location and cozy atmosphere.

I came to Frankfurt with friends to eat sushi. I can't believe how happy we were that we chose Sakura. The sushi is incredibly good, almost the best I've ever had and the decoration, ambience and service were really great. Gladly again!

Few places in Frankfurt have such an amazing Japanese offering. Best part is that the chef, and the staff are native Japanese so the quality is superb.

Great Japanese bistro, absolutely delicious. We had sushi menu’s, miso soups, vegetable tempura, tamaki’s and great dessert. Service was very good. We will definitely come back.

Since it was a dinner menu, there was no gyudon type. I can't say the food is much better than other restaurants, but the atmosphere and service are good. I visited during dinner time. First of all, the staff were very friendly. Seeing the people in this neighborhood who only respond with chewed-up faces every day, meeting people smiling brightly makes me feel welcome?! lol Thai friends having a birthday party were buzzing at the table next to us, but I felt generous and everything seemed fine. Haha the bathroom is also clean. As for the food, everything else was just ok, but the fried eggplant and warm sake went really well together and was worth recommending. I ordered fried eggplant, salmon sashimi, a dreamy salmon sushi set, gyoza, vegetable gyoza, ginger tea, and sake. In general, the amount of rice is large and the seasoning is not salty.

This spot is good for a casual dining. A fair price for the food. We ordered a bunch of diffrent types of sushi. They were okay, but it did seem like they were not freshly prepered. The staff was nice. The place had great tables and you could sit outside aswell. All in all probably would return, but it would not be my first choice in Frankfurt.

The perfect lunch spot! I had the salmon lunch special and it was what it said on the tin. The servers are nice and they accommodate gluten free guests. And…they accepted Blue without a problem!

We got there kinda late (around 8pm) and without reservation, but got lucky and were seated and it was a very cute experience with the best sushi both of us ever had! The waitress was very helpful, nice and kind, switching effortlessly between English and German, we were charmed by the atmosphere and winter garden and really impressed with the food! Highly recommend 😊

Sushi wasn't tasty at all: the special rolls were too salty, salmon maki were too small and all of it cost too much in my opinion. The lemonades are too sweet. Furniture in the restaurant is quite old and the chairs are not at all comfortable to sit on. At 1:30 p.m. on a sunny day it is too dark despite the black walls and furniture. But the staff was very friendly and quick, that's the only thing I liked. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I just had dinner there with my Japanese wife and we both loved it. We both had a sushi mix platter and agreed it wouldn't be the last time we'd been there. ___ Yesterday we were here again and, like the first time, we were absolutely thrilled. We again had the set for two people and again we agreed that it is one of the tastiest sushi restaurants, at least in Frankfurt :-)

We spontaneously decided to eat here last night. Online reservation worked without any problems. The service staff were very nice and attentive, the sushi was very tasty and fresh. Small downer: 0.2 liters of red wine for €15 was greatly overpriced given the quality of the wine.

Been here several times and already ordered. By far the best service and food. You feel comfortable here. One is wanted. The service is great and you won't get better sushi anywhere else. And all that with a great price-performance ratio. Even things like the miso soup are just great here. Always my pleasure.

Bad sushi in the chicken coop Unfortunately, the restaurant did not meet the standards of a good sushi restaurant in all dimensions: 1. The quality of the salmon was more reminiscent of supermarket sushi (no grain visible and not fresh) 2. The ratio of rice to fish was also insufficient (significantly too little fish) 3. You were seated like chickens on a perch (we sat 30cm away from the neighbors and inevitably had to listen to their conversation at a completely higher level). 4. The interior of the restaurant is completely careless and haphazard, with us staring straight at a wall with sockets 5. The sushi shown on the card does not correspond to the sushi brought to the table (ingredients are missing, although it is then explained that these are not included in the description) 6. The staff forgets the drinks 7. Price-performance is not right. Although the restaurant's prices correspond to the upper average for sushi restaurants in Frankfurt, the service is really inferior.

Sushi is really nothing special in terms of quality… but quite expensive

Very rich variety of Sushi’s and Sashimi - one of best Sushi 🍱 that I’ve had in Frankfurt am main. We were lucky to find a table Saturday evening without any reservations. Service was relatively fast and kind.

If you are looking for sub quality sushi and rolls then come here. The first time in my life I ate a spicy tuna roll where it was made with canned tuna. Waiter took away the plate and still charged me the full price. Back customer service.

A very nice casual sushi place! Very suitable for a quick dinner with a friend. This restaurant differentiate itself from other Japanese restaurants with a good set of appetizers. The appetizers are mainly fried but worth trying. The sushi is just fine with some of the rolls not holding together. The service is very good and very friendly from the moment you step in to the moment you pay.

Richtig leckeres Sushi, sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Durch Zufall heute entdeckt, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder….

Wir hatten hier einen kurzen aber sensationell leckeren Sushiabend. Im schön eingerichteten Restaurant gab es einen sehr freundlichen Empfang und wir konnten für eine Stunde den letzten Tisch erhalten, was zeitlich genau gereicht hat. Sehr zuvorkommender Service ( dem Kellner fiel proaktiv auf dass die Himbeer Zironenlimo zu dünn war und brachte kostenfrei Ersatz, sehr freundlich beim Empfang etc.), sehr leckeres Sushi in großen Stücken (klare Empfehlung, die größte Sushiplatte für 48 Euro/ 2P.). Die Vorspeise ("Aubergine Miso") war auch lecker umd besonders. Wahrscheinlich mit das beste Sushi was wir seit langem gegessen haben, dazu nette Atmosphäre. Empfehlung: Reservierung und diese eher im hinteren Bereich des Restaurants. Wenn euch die Rezension bei eurer Urlaubs- und Essensplanung gefallen hat, freue ich mich über ein like oder follow. Ich bewerte regelmäßig Campingplätze und Restaurants sowie Freizeitaktivitäten auf unseren Reisen und im Alltag.

The best sushi place I’ve tried in Frankfurt. The staff is super friendly and comes often to ask if everything is fine or if you need something additionally. The amount of fish vs rice in the sushi is very well proportioned. The atmosphere of the place is also just lovely and cosy

Das SAKURA Sushi Café liegt direkt neben einem chinesischem Dim Sum Restaurant. Beide Restaurants nutzen sogar einen Teil der Tische im überdachten „Garten“ gemeinsam: Das SAKURA verwendet lila Tischsets, das Dim Sum-Restaurant blaue. Die Bedienung im SAKURA war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns bei der Auswahl der Gerichte sehr gut unterstützt (nachdem klar war, dass wir nicht zum Sushi-Essen gekommen waren). Das Essen war durchweg sehr gut. Wir hatten den Kaisen Salat, die Misosuppe, die frittierte Softshell Crab, Kalamar und Kräuterseitlinge, das Gyudon und zum Schluss das Matchaeis. Das klingt erst einmal nach sehr viel, aber bitte im Hinterkopf behalten: Die Gerichte sind klein aber fein. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Wenn man schon europäische Waffeln zum ansonsten sehr guten Matchaeis serviert, dann sollte man statt der weichen, pappigen Waffeln doch besser dünne, knusprige Waffeln einsetzen. Alles in allem aber ein sehr erfreulicher Restaurantbesuch, der Lust auf ein Wiederkommen gemacht hat.

Отличный ресторанчик, цены как везде по Германии. Только тут есть роллы с сыром Филадельфия и это прекрасно. Лучшее место и я сюда обязательно вернусь. Персонал отличный, видя этих японцев, захотелось в Японию. Таких приветливых людей еще надо поискать) Удачи и процветания вам.

We loved our sushi and this was such a great dining experience. The staff is hospitable and the food is delectable. This was out last night in town and we wanted something a little different from the common affair of Germany. If you like sushi, you must go here! Bonus points to the chef for his character and interaction!

The makis were way too salty, I was so disappointed. But the lemonade was good. Special makis are a bit expensive. It’s too bad because the place is very nice.

Lunch set price between Euro12-18 I had the salmon dream 17.9, food serve pretty fast. And the resturant seems joint with next door that Chinese resturant, which mean you can order Chinese food and sushi at the same time.

Ich habe hier das erste Mal Sushi probiert und das Essen war unglaublich gut. Auch der Service war sehr gut, weil wir schnell bedient wurden und die Bedienung sehr sympathisch war. Ich würde jedem, der gerne Sushi isst oder Sushi probieren will, dieses Lokal weiterempfehlen.

Went solo for dinner after a long day - they were booked out and made it work (gave me a table for 30 min which is all I needed). So helpful, great food. Even if it had t worked out, they just really tried which I very much appreciated!
