SAKURA Asiatisches Buffet & Sushi Bar in Hermsdorf

We were at Sakura on November 22nd, 2025 at noon with 24 other guests. The service was very disappointing this time. I had booked a table online for 20 people in advance and increased the number to 25 by phone 5 days prior. However, this wasn't communicated internally. The staff didn't seem to care. No reaction whatsoever! No extra chairs were offered, nor was any other arrangement made. Guest and children's requests were completely ignored. The service staff was very sluggish and unenthusiastic. The food was varied, but already quite cold. Furthermore, it wasn't replenished, even though there was plenty of staff present. The restrooms weren't clean. I didn't expect Sakura to be in such a deplorable state.

At 9:20 p.m. we were asked if we wanted anything to eat, as she wanted to clean up... but what? The buffet was already dry and practically empty by 8:30 p.m. In the end, we were paid almost casually without a receipt.

Disappointing Visit – Quality and Service Significantly Deteriorated We spontaneously decided to go to Sakura again the other evening, as we've always had good experiences there. Unfortunately, this time our visit was anything but pleasant. We were in the restaurant from 7:30 pm until about 10:00 pm and discovered that over half of the buffet was missing or hadn't been replenished. We were particularly dissatisfied with the water in the ice cream counter, which was already quite dirty. When we asked if it could be changed, we received a curt response instead of the staff addressing the problem. There were also serious issues with the hot buffet: parts of the chicken were still pink and therefore not fully cooked, which is completely unacceptable. When we finally spoke to the waitress about the situation and explained our dissatisfaction with the limited selection and overall quality, we were simply told: "We don't have many guests – otherwise we'll have to throw away too much." There was neither an acknowledgment nor an apology for the obvious shortcomings. When a buffet is advertised, one expects it to be presented in a complete and hygienic manner – regardless of the number of guests. Overall, the visit was very disappointing, and we probably won't be returning anytime soon. For the price, one should expect significantly better quality, selection, and, above all, customer service.

Since it's a buffet restaurant, there should be something for everyone. I can't comment on the prices, as we were invited. The food was cooked through and delicious. There was a good selection of drinks, especially the homemade sodas. Parking in the area is okay. In the evening, if you can find a spot, it's open until late; otherwise, it's limited to two hours with a parking disc.

The food was absolutely not outstanding! Unfortunately, when we went back for seconds, we noticed that the fried chicken was raw in the middle, and we had already eaten some of it. The lighting at the table wasn't very bright, so we missed it! Be careful! There's a significantly increased risk of food poisoning. We'll see if we stay healthy. We definitely won't be coming back. We will, of course, inform the health department if necessary!

There's plenty of food, and it's constantly being replenished. From sushi to chicken, rice and noodles, to ice cream and desserts, everything is available. There's something for everyone. The price is reasonable for the wide selection. The food tastes good, and the atmosphere is also fine.

A very pleasant ambiance and very friendly staff. Eating here is truly something special. You get a lot for the price. From typical dishes like boiled rice, noodles, and sushi, even meat lovers will find something to enjoy. Fish, liver, chicken, and much more are available. For dessert, a fruit plate or some raw vegetables and ice cream are also available. All in all, a very great restaurant! Cash only, just to mention.

I was here for my birthday for the first time in a long time. It's always been great here. Because of the all-you-can-eat buffet, I chose that with almost 10 people. This time, I was really annoyed with myself and my guests for even coming here. The food was cold, old, and two salads were sour, so bad. The food was all gone and nothing was refilled. I was very sad 😢 that it was such a disappointment for my birthday. We won't be back anytime soon, if ever.

Really good. You can try a wide variety of Asian cuisine here. Not all of the dishes are available after opening, but that's okay, as there are so many other delicious options. They're regularly restocked. From the appetizers to the ice cream, they're delicious. Very friendly service, and the cocktails are delicious. It's a shame that you can only pay in cash.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food. We'd love to come back.

On Sundays and public holidays, you pay €19.90 for the lunch buffet instead of €12.50 as on other days, even though nothing special or different is offered. The holiday/Sunday surcharge is worth it. I reserved a table for 11:30, and by 12:00, not all the dishes were served on the buffet. The Peking soup was almost cold, and there was no sushi at all that day; that buffet line remained empty. The staff is friendly, and the homemade drinks were delicious. The food was also generally delicious.

09/2025, Update Due to the higher prices and the bland tasting vegetables, even the calamari rings were inedible, as all you could taste was a hard coating. If you pay €19.90 per adult plus drinks as a family, the four-person meal quickly comes to €100, so points are deducted. Great Chinese restaurant with a large all-you-can-eat menu. The interior is very attractive and cozy, and the winding layout and the different seating levels never give you a train station feel, even though it's very large and offers space for larger groups. The food is varied and delicious, the buffet was constantly refilled, and attention was paid to cleanliness. The staff was friendly, but their German skills left something to be desired. Parking is nearby, but you can use a parking pass. Points deducted for the lack of sushi at the lunch buffet. Otherwise, I recommend it.

A nice idea, simple and well suited to family celebrations. However, the food is not hot; much of it is lukewarm to cold, even after the restaurant has opened. What we find extremely inappropriate and unfair are the prices for children. For children aged 10 and over, you have to pay full price. A child of that age is not yet an adult; they will never eat the price. This should be reconsidered and the prices adjusted. Full price for those aged 14 and over would be fine and appropriate. We have eaten here several times when we have had a family celebration. Overall, it is nice and easy for us to eat here; everyone can eat what they want, as much and as often as they want. The service is very good and friendly. However, the temperature of the food and the prices for children over 10 are not okay. Our grandchildren are not good eaters; the waitress would not listen to reason, but we still had to pay the full price for the three girls!

Yes, I can recommend it. The food is delicious, there's a wide selection, and it's not too expensive. A good selection of drinks and good service.

So, of course, the menu is aimed at filling a lot of people quickly. I personally didn't like the sushi at all! All the sauces contain 100 percent MSG, and unfortunately, not everyone can tolerate that. Unfortunately, the restaurant only accepts cash payments. And you don't automatically receive an invoice when paying; you only get one upon request. I asked for one so the tax authorities can get their share.

All-you-can-eat at the Asian restaurant Sakura in Hermsdorf. The ambiance is more reminiscent of a waiting room. The food was rather bland. The staff was quite friendly but rarely came to the table to clear used dishes. The visit to Sakura was not a highlight. That's my personal opinion. Perhaps other visitors will like it.

Clean restaurant, nice staff (although there was very little interaction since it’s a self service buffet) but the buffet was extremely limited and some of the items were truly lacking flavor. While the lunch buffet costs 12.50€ so not extremely expensive, I truly believe that it should cost no more that 8-9€ based on the quality of ingredients and prepared buffet meals. For lunch you cannot order al la carte, so the buffet is the only option. All in all: very limited buffet, non existent flavor. Big bummer as the reviews led us to believe otherwise. The restaurant itself is big with quite nice interior.

Only one star because our dog was allowed once, but three days later, it wasn't allowed anymore?!? Strange, incomprehensible behavior.

Quiet location with plenty of parking in front of the building. Friendly staff. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. The large buffet is particularly good value for money and is particularly good for lunch. Refills are suspended after a certain time in the evening. The food is varied. There's also sushi and an extensive selection of desserts, including ice cream, fried pineapple and banana, jelly, fruit, and sauces. Also suitable for groups of up to 15 people.

Average buffet. Second time there this year. Nothing great, just average. I would not say it's bad. For 19,90€, I would expect better stocking of sushi on the buffet line and better service. One waitress for about 60-70 people. I would go again but as this is the only Asian buffet in the area.... where else?

I've been to these places several times. If you love Asian food, you've come to the right place 🍜 The sushi 🍣 gets extra stars. All the dishes are delicious 😋. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet-style layout of the food is very attractive and well-executed. Thank you very much for that and keep it up. Today (July 12th) I visited you again and I have to say the food was great again.

Great all-you-can-eat buffet, especially in the evenings. The sushi is really delicious and highly recommended for the price. The service was also really great. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

I'll leave the previous review for now, but I have to write a new one today. We spontaneously went to Sakura on Sunday, arrived at 8:15 p.m., and it's open until 10 p.m. All the food was cold, and the restaurant was barely busy. The meat, which was cold, was so hard that we couldn't eat some of it. Even the rice was hard... The cold dishes were almost just leftovers, except for one bowl, which was still full, but it was also cold and the meat was hard. Some bowls were empty. When I asked for sea sambal balls, they were made fresh, and that was the only fresh, delicious, and hot meal that evening. For almost €20 per person, that's just not acceptable; I expect decent dishes! When paying – €95 for four people, including one drink per person – I told the waitress how we felt, and she replied that we could have let them know if we wanted anything. However, I think the staff, who are also walking around, should be able to tell for themselves when the bowls are empty or just empty. The meat was also clearly rock-hard, and they probably know when they last refilled it. We were full, but only because we were really hungry. Why do I have to go to the trouble of asking the staff about every dish? I can just order from the menu. Unfortunately, I have to change my previously positive review after experiencing another rather disappointing experience there today. The blonde waitress was quite unfriendly, and quite a few things were already empty when we arrived at 8:30 p.m. (they're open until 10:30 p.m.). Exactly one hour before closing, the buffet was cleared and the tables were cleaned all around, making you feel like, "Hey... don't you want to leave..." I asked around 9 p.m. if I could have some more lychees. The answer was, "They're all gone and we're not restocking them." It's a shame, because they were already empty when we arrived, as were one type of fish, and the meat was cold. The counter was also dark, and the light provides the warmth. But cold food for €13.50 per person and then only leftovers or nothing left is simply not something you can recommend. We've been to Sakura quite often, but soon we'll probably drive a few kilometers further to another restaurant. It's a shame. In between, we've also had a few pleasant visits with delicious hot food and a large selection. Unfortunately, the table reservation didn't work out, so we were squeezed into a far corner for our birthday. It's sometimes very loud, and when the restaurant is full, you unfortunately have to wait a long time for drinks. The staff, however, are very friendly.

Unfortunately, you could tell from the food that they had been waiting for customers for a long time. The roast duck was completely dried out and so was the chicken, as was the sushi. The remaining dishes were only moderately warm and the selection was limited. I have experienced much better Asian buffets for a little more money, even with freshly prepared dishes. Unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I've heard from several people that they've contracted illnesses here. I didn't believe it and experienced it myself. The hospital stay wasn't pleasant. Even the health department has received numerous reports that others have experienced the same thing after visiting here. I can't and won't recommend it to anyone.

We would have loved to have another drink, but unfortunately, the service had "disappeared." No matter... this time, unfortunately, it wasn't quite as delicious...

Very tasty, everything fresh, and very tidy, which was a bit disappointing—we arrived at 7 p.m., and the vegetarian sushi and fried shrimp were unfortunately sold out and not refilled. It's a shame that they could have handled this differently. The cool drinks were also great 🍸. I'd love to come back; the value for money is great.

We ate at the buffet. The taste was okay, but the Asian snack bar around the corner was just as good. The atmosphere was pleasant. The room was large with many tables of varying sizes. The buffet was manageable. No card payments. For dessert, you can help yourself to jelly, fruit, and ice cream. The ice cream, however, had severe freezer burn and wasn't tasty.

Had dinner at Sakura today. Unfortunately the food was already cold and the quality was outrageous. The restaurant was nicely designed but the rest was really one absolute impudence. When I went to the toilet I was massively disturbed, which made me very uncomfortable. The staff extremely unfriendly. The air in the room was very bad and I had to take a break outside every now and then. I was about to leave the restaurant early because of the bad air!!! Conclusion: Not worth a visit!

Food was cold and tasted like frozen food. The duck at the buffet was tough and brown. The ambience was okay but there was a pipe wrench on the sink in the toilet, which was a disgrace. And the service was poor, we had to wait 10 minutes to pay. Also, the air was worse than I've ever experienced and the staff didn't do anything about it, it got so bad that we had to leave the restaurant to get some air. Conclusion: once and never again!!!

There were 7 of us there today and we were initially greeted in an unfriendly manner, but this didn't get any better over time. So very unfriendly. The food was actually OK overall. We also felt very disadvantaged and badly treated. It felt like they were prejudiced against us because we are teenagers. Another miserable thing was that we were disturbed by employees in the toilet.

We were there at 8:15 p.m. and unfortunately we didn't find all of the food and some of it wasn't hot anymore. But what was still there was very tasty and the service was really quick and friendly. We'll definitely come back again

You always get a seat (even without a reservation) and the food tastes really good. The service is very friendly. However, this could slip through the tables more often. The local is okay but nothing special. Pretty warm in there. All in all, worth recommending!

I ordered fried noodles with chicken because I know this dish. It was exactly what I always get at a Chinese snack bar in Saalfeld next to today's Moses. And it tastes exactly the same bad, only the portion is larger and the meat is dry. In addition, the waitress doesn't seem to get along with disabled people, because my companion waited in the restaurant until I came back from the toilet and didn't respond to "Hello? Hello?". By the way, you are not allowed to use the toilet if you don't order anything. It was urgent and I had appointments.

The service is super nice. But the food tastes like it comes from a wholesaler, it doesn't taste homemade, you can taste the acidic preservatives in the sauce. Looks the same as any other store, I'm convinced it's just thawed food.

Extremely crowded on Saturday evening. Service staff seemed overloaded. There was enough food in quantity. Quality has room for improvement. Tables and chairs crowded together.

Compared to 12.2024, the selection of dishes has fallen from 10 to 2. The staff was nice but hardly on site. The service suffered greatly as a result. There are probably internal hurdles. In autumn 2025 we will drive through Hermsdorf again and would like to visit Sakura again. ;)

Food is super tasty. But unfortunately there is little choice. And sometimes a long waiting time when something runs out.

The food is good, crispy and tasty. The drink was poorly mixed, a lot of soda, tasted a bit stale. Service is due to the stress, drinks are placed at the table without beer mats. There were no opportunities to order a second drink. Paying took forever, after waiting 30 minutes, we looked for someone and asked them to collect. Then someone came within the next few minutes. Pretty loud, but it had gotten pretty crowded shortly after we arrived. Saturday evening. Music would have been nice. For a relaxed, quiet evening, I would think about something else soon.

Well... We were hoping for more based on the many positive reviews here. The service was asleep. Was at the table 3 times within 1.5 hours - the first time to take the drink order, then to bring the drinks and then again when we wanted to pay... I would definitely have ordered something else to drink if someone had asked in between. Large selection of food. It tasted fine. Only the temperature of the food was only worth 1 star - everything was only lukewarm... I know, the buffet is difficult to keep everything warm, but if it's only that lukewarm when freshly refilled, then I don't know... Ambience is nice, although relatively loud. The price at lunchtime was unbeatable at just under 13 euros. You can do it, but you don't have to.

Yummy Yummy Yummy! And all-you-can-eat is so worth it for the price. The staff quickly assigned us to a table and the food was always replenished. Always fresh and sometimes new food (e.g. colorful sushi). I'll definitely go there again. !!!

A table reserved for December 25th, 20240. The place is totally overcrowded. The guests stood in two rows at the buffet. Of course there were also people with two plates that were piled high with a mountain of food. But we have never experienced anything like today. After almost an hour we left the restaurant because it was unreasonable to get something to eat there. It is hoped that the concept will be revised. It used to be very nice but unfortunately not anymore. It has slowed down a lot. Too bad.

The buffet was always replenished. “All you can” is cheap for the offer, of course you will have to add one or two euros to the drinks. The service was very friendly and not intrusive.

We were there for lunch today with 14 people. Ten of them are children. The welcome was unfriendly and that didn't get any better. The food from the buffet was almost exclusively cold. There wasn't a nice word. Conclusion, once and never again!

Were guests again today for a long time. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the quality because it leaves a lot to be desired. So the price increase is not justified. Cold plates, meat hard and vegetables carelessly made.

Been there again for many years. Saturday evening, no parking spaces available, over full restaurant, all drinks have to be paid extra, you have to wait on condition, the selection of food is not that big. Tables and benches are not very clean and you shouldn't even look at the floor.

It was a nice experience in this all you can eat restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and there is space at the table, including between the tables. Service very friendly and service too. Unfortunately NO CARD PAYMENT!!! You can eat and drink really well for two people for a maximum of 80 euros. We will come back!!!

It's been a long time since I've been out to eat and I was actually looking forward to it, but I was a little disappointed. The buffet had a large selection again, but in my opinion everything tasted the same. The service wasn't very friendly either. Sorry, but that was it I think it's the last time.

It was our first time here (due to recommendations from friends) for the all-you-can-eat buffet and we were a little disappointed. The food (buffet, ambience, service) had something of a company canteen. The food was tasty, the bowls were full, but the presentation was less stylish. The service staff (1x waitress, 1x bar) were hopelessly overloaded, the drinks we ordered only came after the first round of food, we had to wave for the second drink order and we preferred to clear away the used plates ourselves. Conclusion: OK to fill you up, less useful for a nice evening with friends.

Went there on Sunday evening where it opened. Reception with "pay in cash only"... it's nowhere on the internet or I couldn't find anything about it... free choice of table because the assigned table was too narrow for 6 people... selection was manageable, not everything yet as some bowls were still empty, that changed but then little by little...food only lukewarm...in my opinion too few vegetables in the salad area...drinks very expensive...everything a bit bland...

The food was hot but everything tasted the same. Except for the spicy dishes, it was bland and untypically (un)seasoned. The sushi was good but there was little choice (about 5 types) - when we arrived the sushi plates were almost empty and weren't refilled at all, not even 2 hours later. We were looking forward to everything because of the good reviews and were very disappointed. So we can't understand the good reviews and won't eat here again.

Here, lovers of Asian cuisine will find everything their heart desires. An overwhelmingly great buffet. Where it is constantly refilled and fresh cutlery and plates are quickly available. Very friendly staff and a harmonious ambience rounded off the evening nicely for me and my friend.

Four of us went there for dinner on a Saturday evening. It was overly crowded, the service was completely overwhelmed and absolutely terrible. We had to wait forever for the drinks we ordered (they weren't included in the buffet) and then what we ordered didn't come. We ordered a glass of still water - we received a large bottle of sparkling water. At least a third of all food containers were constantly empty and refilling was slow. The bucket that you're supposed to use to clean the ice cream maker was full of such dirty suds that I almost vomited. I then went to the bar with the bucket and insisted that it be cleaned now. The floor stuck like crazy and it was incredibly loud. Really not nice. As in school meals, you put your dishes on the serving trolley yourself, scrape the leftover food off your plate beforehand, sort cutlery, rubbish and plates. Seriously, that would have nothing to do with service today. We won't come here anymore!

Nice atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat, which we used. The buffet could be bigger. We were there in the evening and specialized in sushi. We missed Makies with the sushi. The "in and out" rolls contained, among other things, sour cucumbers, which makes me wonder if they ran out of ingredients. You actually expect more from an evening buffet, hence only the 3 stars. There was a large television next to the buffet where children could be entertained, but this television was far too loud even when there were no children sitting there. Service was nice though :).

Oh come on guys…stop complaining. Were there last week with 6 people from the workforce over lunch for the standard “all you can eat”. With drinks we were just over €100. That's really more than fair for a very full belly in 2024.
