Best Vietnamese restaurant around. Friendly and helpful staff and very good food. Vegetables are fresh and crunchy, meat is always perfect.

Too expensive, drink only came in half an hour, no spices and not properly fried!!!

Relatively high price hence the 4 stars but otherwise it was good and plentiful.

We saw a Vietnamese restaurant by the funicular which appealed to us, but it was closing as we arrived, so to find the Saigon Sonne whilst looking elsewhere was serendipitous. Seeing a party of Vietnamese people eating there and looking happy was a good sign. We enjoy Vietnamese food, but kept it quite simple, rice noodles and tofu and udon noodles and prawns. The plates were very large, maybe more than we needed for lunch, but like the troopers we are we finished it. Overall, very nice, and we recommend.

Very tasty food. We reserved a table here, only looked at the prices later and were a bit put off by it. But the food was worth the price, fresh vegetables and the tofu were also absolutely delicious. Every dish is also offered as vegan, which gave me a huge selection. The homemade lime soda was also very good. I can only recommend this restaurant and we will definitely eat there again next time we are in Heidelberg.

For our first evening on our kids-free short vacation, we wanted to eat out abroad. We didn't regret it, the food was great, the service was friendly. But we waited quite a long time (approx. 40 minutes) for the food. All in all, it was super tasty.

Lunch special offers excellent value. We ordered the Pho and yellow curry with chicken the first time. They were both good. Two days later we went back for the duck and the chicken with cashew. They were excellent.

This restaurant was a great find! I was really impressed with the food. The taste was something I wasn't familiar with and that's exactly why we chose this restaurant. The rice was great, the vegetables were great and I have never eaten tofu like this before. Local vegetables and meat are advertised. Even though I can't verify the seriousness of this information, I think it's nice that emphasis is placed on something like this. You can also find many vegetarian dishes. The location in the old town is nice but unfortunately most of the tables are inside. This is already a more expensive restaurant. Many main courses cost over €20 but you can also find cheaper meals that will fill you up well.

I ate soup noodle pho, fried spring rolls, and fried food set. The portion was so plentiful that even three people couldn't finish it all. The soup was delicious with plenty of coriander, and the fried spring rolls were hot, chewy, and delicious. However, what was disappointing was that there was no fresh chili, which is common in Vietnam. Chili sauce was provided, but the taste was completely different. It would be nice if they had a little more variety of beer.

Food is excellent, the interior is not intrusive(normal local). English and Deutsche Menu. Staff also speak in English. There is no problem to adjust food on demand (I take noodles instead of rice). Small soup as aperitif+main food portions are making all day good. We will comeback here.

Very good restaurant. The location is nice and rustic and the food is very fresh and plentiful. Unfortunately, we felt a bit sorry for the waiter because some guests took out their frustration on him due to waiting. He was just the only waiter.

We ordered a Saigon menu for 2 people, very tasty and plenty to eat.

Lunchgerechten: lekkere wokschotels met kip en eend. Daarbij bao buns met kip en eend. Verse producten en lekkere kruiden. Een aanrader!

It didn't come 20 minutes after ordering, and it didn't come 30 minutes after asking again, and the service attitude was very indifferent.

My family and I ended up here while walking down the main street and the vibe looked good along with some open seating outside. We were allowed to sit wherever we wanted and our orders were taken promptly. We ordered drinks and a starter with spring rolls and summer rolls and they were all fantastic. If you can get anything with duck in it, do it. I ordered the lemongrass red curry duck and it was incredible. My wife's red curry was also very tasty but on the less spicy side which was totally okay, but don't expect this curry to blow you away with heat. Overall, a surprisingly wonderful Vietnamese experience here in Heidelberg. Would definitely come back again.

Really great dinner. We arrived late and only had about 50 minutes to dine, talked to the waiter about it who gave us some recommendations for the meals…. 35 minutes later we had dined and it was super delicious. Highly recommend!

Service took a long time - both when ordering and when the drinks were delivered. Ordered the wrong dish with glass noodles and tofu - it wasn't to my taste. Objective minus points for the following points: - Vegetables were not cooked through - Tofu fried too well, a bit soft and oily - too much cilantro Otherwise it's great here, if you like the dish then that's your opinion.

I happened to sit down while passing by and it was like sweet rain in a drought.. ㅠㅠ Whenever I feel grumpy, I come here and eat rice noodles with red pepper. It's digested right away. It's so delicious.

Die Saigon Sonne ist ein klassischer Asiate mit all seinen Vor- und Nachteilen. Das Essen wurde zügig gebracht und entsprach dem was man in einem solchen Lokal erwartet . Es war lecker, wenngleich die Haut der Ente leider nicht knusprig war. Die Portionen waren groß genug und die Preise fair. Insgesamt kein Erlebnis aber ein guter Spot um Mittags schnell essen zu gehen.

The Saigon Sun is a classic Asian with all its advantages and disadvantages. The food was delivered quickly and was what you would expect in a restaurant like this. It was tasty, although unfortunately the skin of the duck wasn't crispy. The portions were big enough and the prices were fair. Overall, not an experience but a good spot to grab a quick lunch.

The food took a long time to arrive. The seat was a bit dirty. The food tasted mediocre and could be better. Too greasy and the rice was dry. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very entertaining and seemed sad and not very enjoyable about the job. The ambience was very dark and the music was very quiet. My family wasn't very enthusiastic about everyone.

We tried the duck with red curry sauce and chicken with lemon grass. Both were really great and food was enough. The service was a little slowbut that is understandable. The only issue is the prive. I think 18 euros is too much for this dish. I know now a days everything is more expensive than before but I think 14 would have been enough.

Decided to go there for lunch. Food was quite balanced. And gravy had perfect thickness. I ordered SA ỚT with chicken. And i loved it. It had slight lemon grass hint with sweet and sour taste. Besides there was a lot if chicken, perfectly justifies the price. Just keep in that day the service seemed veryyy slow and we had wait for Around an hour. We were okay with that but if you are in hurry better to ask them about the approximate time. Unfortunate they dont serve báhn bó with tapioca dessert anymore.

Very unfriendly staff. I was just at the counter to ask if I could order takeout. The man simply ignored me and ran away. When he walked past me again, I tried to talk to him again, but was ignored again...apparently he knows a little German. And he knew that he was being spoken to but unfortunately I only got an unfriendly look. I've been there a few times. Food was good but a bit expensive compared to other Asian restaurants. The location is great – right in the heart of things. You can enjoy the outdoor seating on sunny days or cozy up indoors. Although it was pretty crowded inside with lots of reservations, the outdoor vibe was lively and enjoyable. We started with some tasty summer rolls. The shrimp ones were a hit, with fresh mint and delicious sauces. The chicken version was decent but lacked a bit of excitement. Moving on to the mains: the chicken pho was alright, though it leaned a bit too much towards a beefy taste for my liking. But the curries stole the show! Both the green and red curries were fantastic. The veggies were perfectly cooked, and that red curry? Spicy perfection. The shrimp were OK, though I might skip them next time and stick with the veggie curry. Despite the service being a bit slow, the food totally made up for it. Can't wait to come back for more!

Foods are ok, not outstanding or bad. We ordered phon und Vorspeise Plate. In it Fried spring roll tastes much better than the other one. It is located in the walking street, busy at lunch time. Parking in public parking lots and takes around 5 minutes to walk.

It says restaurant without taste enhancer, four of us ate but unfortunately none of us were satisfied and it tasted like Gemach's enhancer.

The 1/4 portion crispy duck and rice is the best, with all the sauces served, they all have nice flavors. Halb portion is a little too much. The 8T and 15T in the appetizer menu are also good.

Ein kleines, feines Lokal in mitten der Hauptstraße von HD. Einrichtung evtl. etwas rustikal aber zweckmäßig. Alles sauber und ordentlich. Essen super lecker. Servicepersonal freundlichen und aufmerksam. Portionen völlig ausreichend. Wir kommen wieder. Macht weiter so.

Tolles Restaurant, gemütliche Atmosphäre, nettes Personal und richtig gutes und frisches Essen. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist toll. Von mild bis sehr scharf ist alles dabei. Wer Gemüse liebt, für den sind die meisten Gerichte ein Paradies. Selten so toll knackiges Gemüse gegessen. Auch das Fleisch ist immer toll gegart und sehr lecker.

Mal sehr gut, mal sehr schlecht. Ein und das selbe Gericht kann an 2 unterschiedlichen Tagen ausgezeichnet oder ungenießbar sein. Die Qualität scheint davon abzuhängen, wie voll es ist und wie viel Zeit und Sorgfalt die Küche aufbringen kann. Also vielleicht besser nicht dort essen, wenn das Restaurant voll ist.

한국인 입맛에 완전 잘 맞는 베트남 음식점이에요. 독일에서 먹은 쌀국수 중에 제일 맛있었고 오리밥? 요리도 Hoisin소스랑 먹으니깐 정말 맛있게 잘 먹었어요

We arrived at 11:30 and the door was locked, lights were off, and we saw no one inside. We almost left but I called and someone answered, and then they opened up the store. We were craving Pho and it was delicious -- I'm used to adding my own veggies and herbs but everything was already in the bowl. I felt he exaggerated in saying the appetizer pho was the size of the candle holder on the table, so I ended up ordering the full size and was unable to finish. The summer rolls are pricey but tasty.

We ordered Saigon Menu and it was really delicious. The portion was good for 2 person. They bring us first soup and then one big plate with all foods. I just thought price is a little bit higher but I guess it is normal because of the location. It is in the center. If you want to eat Vietnamese food in Heidelberg I definitely recommend it 😊👍 Edit: we visited second time and learned that the menu also has a dessert. So don't forget to ask for dessert 😅 everything was really delicious.

Das Restaurant ist in 2 Hälften geteilt. Leider hat die eine Hälfte mehr liebe in der Gestaltung bekommen als die andere. Das Essen hier ist sehr Fleisch lastig. Die Portionen sind groß genug jedoch hat man das Gefühl das es sich hier eher um fertigessen handelt statt das es frisch gekocht ist. Der Geschmack könnte authentischer sein.

This got to be a great pho in the city. The broth is balanced yet clear and light. The sirloin beef is tender. The noodle is al dente as well.

Das Essen ist vorzüglich, absolut zu empfehlen!! Das Ambiente erinnert eher an eine rustikale Brauereigaststätte, da ist noch Luft nach oben und unsere Getränke dauerten ewig obwohl nicht viel los war. Der Service sollte also, nicht nur deshalb, noch etwas an sich arbeiten. Die wunderbar schmeckenden Speisen machen die kleinen Mankos aber allemal wett.

Wir waren heute zum Abendessen vor Ort. Die Bedienung war super freundlich. Getränke und Essen kamen schnell - es war aber auch wenig los - und war super lecker. Die Portionen waren absolut ausreichend. Wir waren froh, keine Vor-- und Nachspeisen bestellt hatten. Die hätten wir nicht mehr geschafft.

Ich habe noch nie eine Bewertung bei Google Rezensionen verfasst, aber Saigon Sonne hat meine Erwartungen dermaßen übertroffen, dass ich gerne eine gute Bewertung hinterlasse. Ich habe seit 3 Jahren in Heidelberg selten so gut zubereitetes Essen erlebt wie bei Saigon, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist herausragend. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Absolute Empfehlung, meiner Meinung nach das beste Restaurant mit fairen Preisen in Heidelberg.

Das Interieur des Restaurants ist durchschnittlich, die Lage an der Einkaufsstraße ist natürlich genial. Das muss man bedenken, wenn man dann die Preise auf der Speisekarte sieht. Es ist alles ein wenig hochpreisiger wie bei anderen Asiaten. Der Service war sehr freundlich, das Essen war lecker. Mir persönlich war in der Fischsuppe ein wenig zu viel Ananas enthalten.

Seit langer Zeit am Samstag wieder hier gegessen, toller Service und die beste Ente weit und breit. Immer wieder einen Besuch wert!

Sehr leckeres Vietnamesisches Essen Die Vorspeise war super lecker und das Hauptgericht wir hatten beide Ente ebenfalls. Der selbstgemachte Thai Eistee sowie der Guave Saft war auch sehr lecker.
