Sahlenburger Grillhaus in Cuxhaven

We ordered food there, but the driver claimed he couldn't find us, even though we were at a very well-known holiday complex. The mayonnaise had leaked out, completely ruining the packaging. The schnitzel was barely lukewarm, and the Turkish pizza and croquettes were cold. For the price we paid, this is unacceptable! 😡

The doner kebab is great there, but you're better off getting the fries without mayonnaise. A small portion costs €1.50, while hunter's sauce or gypsy sauce are €4. A 1-liter bottle of Coke is €5. So keep your eyes open before you order.

We ate at the Grillhaus in Sahlenburg today and ordered two doner kebabs. The food was extremely tasty, the portions generous, and the value for money was excellent. I can't confirm any negative reviews – our visit was a complete success. Highly recommended!

We ordered three doner kebabs and a lahmacun. All the dishes were generous and well-filled. The sauces were delicious, the bread was excellent, and the meat was also excellent. Only the dough of the lahmacun was a bit hard in some places, but overall, that's overlooked. Everything tasted great, the service was very friendly, and they even threw in some free hot powder. Pleasantly surprised! I'll be back!

Today I waited 40 minutes, which is fine for a hunter's schnitzel with fries and chicken pasta. The schnitzel was really delicious. But the other one was a bitter disappointment. I got home and found doner meat instead of chicken, with strips of paprika. But not even pasta. Where are the pasta, even though I ordered pasta with chicken! And for €14, it's simply outrageous.

So 10 euros for fries with currywurst with mayo and half an hour waiting, once and never again pure rip-off

First of all! This review is for a fast food restaurant. The food was good, plentiful, and prepared quickly. The staff was friendly and brought the food to the table. Restrooms were clean and well-maintained. Prices were mid-range for comparable establishments. In short: it was tasty. It was good.

Ordered a 30 cm pizza that was too small, but only delivered a 28 cm one. After complaining, no insight. That's called fraud. The plate is 26 cm.

Even when there are problems, the customer is taken care of.

We got three pizzas and a kebab box. The kebab box was okay, but the pizza wasn't that good. The dough was oily and hard, and the flavor wasn't particularly good. We definitely won't be back. However, the staff were very nice and friendly.

We ordered a doner kebab and a doner baguette. Definitely a highlight in terms of both appearance and taste. In my experience, the portions are always better-looking in a styrofoam box, but it's difficult to present them nicely in a styrofoam box, unlike on a plate. Recommendation goes out again! 😁

Bottomless. The meal took 3 hours (with a 10-minute walk). We had to call twice, and the first time we were told the driver was on his way, and the second time we were suddenly told they had overlooked us and would now make and bring it back. We ordered two doner kebabs today. For the price, we received a really large portion, which was almost impossible to finish. The salad on the doner kebab was very fresh, and the sauce was delicious. The sauce could have been spicier, but it was really okay, and there was also salt and pepper and chili flakes on the sideboard for seasoning. We ate in; the restaurant is quite stylish and seemed very clean. The doner kebabs were served to us, along with cutlery. We were also very satisfied with the friendly service. We would gladly come back and highly recommend the doner kebab.

We were actually regular customers until the grill house was renovated. We hadn't ordered anything there in a long time. And we were truly disappointed. The prices increased, which is clear and understandable. The pizza was delivered completely inside out, yes, it can happen. But then maybe they should have mentioned that during delivery. There was hardly any topping on the pizza, and the pizza and calzone dough was twice as thick as before. And the driver was actually quite unfriendly. As I said, we are truly disappointed!

Overpriced. If you order through Lieferando, the sauces are missing, or if you order schnitzel with croquettes and hollandaise sauce, there's neither hollandaise sauce nor enough cheese. Five croquettes. Fries are unseasoned. The pizzas are good. Fries for a doner kebab... 2/3 fries and a few pieces of meat without sauce for €9.50. Simply overpriced.

Soooo, where do I begin?! I was surprised it was open; I was in the mood for shashlik. Unfortunately, at €9.50, I had different expectations. It was a small shashlik, a tiny one! Tasted good, but still small. I'm absolutely happy to pay for good service, friendly staff, and a clean atmosphere. Because I can't complain about that in the slightest; it was great. But I can't get over the €9.50, especially since it's not even close to the price of the other dishes.

Actually, it's quite okay. Naturally, the store is packed during the holidays, which unfortunately made coordination extremely difficult. One plus point is that they accept card payments and online payments via Lieferando, but the food was mediocre at best.

Cuxhaven's best kebab, super friendly service. I always enjoy going there.

The food is okay, and the portions are decent. Still, €9 for a currywurst with fries and €15.50 for a "meal" including schnitzel, fries, and a can of soda are quite steep. Especially since the schnitzel is frozen and fried with the fries. Card payments aren't accepted, by the way. We won't be back.

The grill house has apparently been renovated and recently reopened. We were here on a short vacation without a car. That's why we ate/got/ordered food here 4 times. It tasted very good every time! There was a lot going on at times. Work is done diligently and quickly.

My absolute favorite kebab grill in Cuxhaven. I'm really sad that this one just closed. I hope it just gets remodeled and reopens soon.

Honestly, I can't understand all the bad reviews. But since I saw live on site how some of the guests behaved, it doesn't surprise me. The fact that someone is still willing to run a snack bar and then has to deal with such "guests" commands a lot of respect from me! I stood in the snack bar with other guests, partly stunned, and had to watch how customers behaved. They probably go to the snack bar with the intention of causing a stir because they can't cope with their own lives. I've also heard this from the employees at a gas station, for example. Many people have probably no longer experienced respect, friendliness and good behavior. Was their parents like that? I have been living in Cuxhaven for 15 years now and, as long as I have known the Sahlenburger Grillhaus, I have always been treated very friendly and respectfully, just as I behaved towards the snack bar operator. The food was always delicious, no matter what it was. My absolute favorite snack bar in Cuxhaven. Unfortunately currently closed. I hope and wish that it will “just” be remodeled and that the snack bar will open again soon. I would miss something here in Cuxhaven if this snack bar no longer existed.

Very bad service, you have the feeling that you are a nuisance, you prefer to spend time with your colleagues and you sometimes wait half an hour for a shish kebab. In terms of taste it's not worth €8.50 either. Not recommended!!!

Very large and powerful portions.

The kebab is delicious, but what disappoints me is that the taste of the sauces doesn't come across as well. The meat was well done. The flatbread was a bit too hard for me (didn't bite into it very well). The kebab was definitely big for a price of €6.50. The employees are nice and friendly.

The Turkish snack bar in Sahlenburg! Tastefully good kebabs. Staff normally friendly and quick. The snack bar doesn't seem suitable to me for eating on site. The outdoor seating directly on the busy main road. Otherwise okay.

I can NOT understand bad reviews!!! The food is amazing, I've never had such perfect fries. The kiddy menu is better than some fast food restaurants. Fries and McNuggets in a nice little treasure chest, a drink packet and a small stuffed toy from Nici in the mystery pack, so no cheap stuff! I had the pizza with crabs and it was great, tasted great, had an incredible amount of crabs on it and after four pieces I was really full. The kebab plate is also highly recommended! The waiting time was long, but you have to say that the store is very small and there were around 15 customers in the store and the phone was just ringing. It's also in the middle of the holiday season. ;-) But the quality of the food is so incredibly good, it's worth it. Clear recommendation!

The food is quite good. If you order food and pick it up, you don't get what was ordered. If you then know that, the answer will be that what was written down is correct. If you then express your dissatisfaction you will be thrown out!! Criticism is undesirable. Like others in our family, we won't order anything there.

I was there for the first time yesterday and got Jägerschnitzel with fries The fries were good, but I thought the schnitzel was way too big and there was way too much breading on it, so it didn't taste that good. I would still eat there again because other dishes also deserve a taste test.

I can only rate the pizza. Dough too thick, topping average in taste. I've eaten worse, but I've also eaten better. Therefore only three stars.

Hello, I was there for the first time yesterday and I was very surprised/excited. I ordered fries with currywurst and fries with cheeseburger to take away. First of all, the most important thing is that the shop appears absolutely clean and tidy. Neither in the corners nor in the storage container in the cooling system does it look impossible, on the whole it makes an excellent impression. About the food: the fries were great and not too salty. The currywurst tasted good and looked the way I wanted/would like it to. The ketchup was sufficient and had a great consistency. The cheeseburger was a reasonable size and was topped with the right amount of ketchup/sauces etc. as well as lettuce and pickles. It also tasted really great, the waiting time for the food was absolutely fine and I would be happy to come back. Conclusion: I can absolutely recommend this shop/food and at the same time say: keep it up and satisfied customers will continue to come.

The meat from the kebab plate was inedible. Only one sauce can be chosen. Shortly afterwards I had stomach cramps and couldn't get off the toilet. Not recommended!

We're on vacation here and got some food here. Schnitzel the house style. Unfortunately it was completely over salted, making it inedible and I had to throw the food away. Extremely annoying for the price of €16.50. We also had two kebab plates that were completely over-seasoned. The tzatziki was just a yogurt sauce.

Nothing special. Ate there on vacation, but anyone who writes here that it is the best kebab has probably never eaten one anywhere else. Service was rather bad. It's ok, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Haben Pizza, Cheeseburger und einem Döner bestellt. Alles super, aber der Döner war wirklich super, viel Fleisch viel Salat viel Soße und hat super geschmeckt. Wir bestellen auf jeden Fall nochmal.

Wir sind derzeit im Urlaub und wollten einen Abend essen bestellen. Wir entschieden uns für jeweils ein Schnitzel und einen Burger. Maio musste für 1,50€ extra bestellt werden. Das Schnitzel mit latschigen Pommes bzw. Kroketten für jeweils 16,50€ (!!!) war nur noch lauwarm, obwohl der Imbiss lediglich 3 min mit dem Auto entfernt war. Das Schnitzel war zusätzlich komplett verbrannt und so sehnig, dass mein Partner nicht aufessen konnte. Die Portionen waren grundsätzlich sattmachend groß. Die Burger waren iO, allerdings auch nur aufgewärmte Fertigprodukte für den stolzen Preis von jeweils 7,50€. Insgesamt haben wir über 50€ für unser Essen bezahlt. Ziemlich viel Geld, dafür dass das meiste in der Tonne gelandet ist. Vielleicht selbst schuld, wenn man bei einem Imbiss ein Schnitzel bestellt... aber es sollte zumindest genießbar sein. Schade, leider nicht wieder.

Der Dönertelle war nach 5 min schon lau warm und geschmacklich ziemlich weit unten.
