Safran in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Almost the only small restaurant in all of Oldenburg. Many small dishes are or can be combined. From extremely hot chocolate sauce to game meat to sweet and other variations. Art on postcards from the boss is also available inexpensively in the restaurant.

We ordered a vegan pizza and vegan pasta. The pizza in particular was extremely tasty and the dough was something completely different! We'll definitely be back :)

Pleasingly different from Oldenburg's bratwurst, kebab and pizza menu, very tasty, fair prices and, despite the small size of the restaurant, you can always find a place.

What a fantastic lamb arabic rollo they served today... The lamb not too musty, full of cheese and artichokes and that delicious arabic sauce with cinnamon.

For me the most delicious food I have ever eaten in a restaurant in Germany! The Ghormeh Sabzi is so incredibly good! You have the feeling that grandma has taken a trip through the Orient and learned and perfected new cooking skills. Ambience a bit cramped, but totally comfortable. The operators are very nice and friendly. Here you can find super delicious food and spontaneous casseroles as well as surprise plates! We are excited! Always my pleasure! Thanks

Very, very tasty and despite the few seats, I always found a place. Pleasant, uncomplicated, authentic atmosphere and very friendly service.

Very nice, but also extremely small restaurant/restaurant. Pizza was delicious, vegetarian dish too, but this one was a bit rice-heavy. Saffron bread as a starter with a large selection of delicious dips. There are also outdoor seats opposite Madison, otherwise they fill up very quickly (outside) and inside you can basically only sit in the aisle. Service 3 out of 5, since you have to pick it up yourself, but extremely friendly, so it doesn't necessarily have to be taken as a negative, but somehow you have to differentiate the stars. Unfortunately, even years after Corona, no card payment, but in theory we could have paid next time, but still found a few thalers.

Food was okay, the barometer voucher was resealed on site, so you had to pay the full price for a main course. I wonder why they offer vouchers then! Service very unfriendly.

The operators are very friendly. The food is very, very good. Everything about the bread and dough is freshly made. Lots of extra sauces and toppings that you can put on your plate for free. The prices are great and the atmosphere is great.

Super delicious food! The spices are perfectly balanced in the dishes and the owners are very friendly. Unfortunately there are not that many seating options on site, but this creates a quiet and cozy atmosphere.

We went to Safran for lunch! A great location with very good food, a large selection and friendly service. The lunch table is perfectly sized for a normal eater Will not be my/our last visit. There is still a lot on the menu that you want to try.

No sooner had I crossed the threshold of the restaurant than a curious sensation enveloped me, a whisper of displacement in time and space. This was no longer Oldenburg in the year 2024; rather, I had stumbled into a quaint alcove that seemed to echo with the nostalgic essence of a Middle Eastern bazaar, a hidden gem frequented only by those with local knowledge. With a sense of adventure, I placed an order for a margarita pizza, only to be pleasantly surprised. The pizza boasted a unique ingredient – a yellow spice that hinted at the exotic luxury of saffron. Its presence lent an organic, special touch to the dish, a delightful deviation from the ordinary. The assortment of oils, rich with spices, caught my eye. I ventured to select several infused with piquant, hot spices, each adding a bold stroke to the canvas of flavors. This was not the original Italian pizza as purists might claim, but in its deviation, it found its charm. As I savored each bite, I realized that enjoyment doesn't always stem from authenticity, but often from the unexpected journeys that flavors can take us on.

A small and inconspicuous location with fantastic food and incredibly nice people who prepare the food. Just great!

Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly impressed with the lamb kebab pita In terms of taste, it's okay, especially because of the very tasty bread and the spicy sauces. Unfortunately, it's a disappointment that the portion size is the same as the meat, which is very dry and crumbly and only a few strips on top. In general, I think €8 for bread and salt is something Overpriced but maybe I will give the shop a second chance. The atmosphere and conditions are nice and I think that other food like daily offers might be worth the price

Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich, gibt gute Empfehlungen zb Vegane Überraschungsteller. Es ist für jeden was dabei , egal ob Fleischesser, Vegetarier oder Veganer. Das Safran Restaurant liegt in der Oldenburger Innenstadt und ist gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Es gibt eine Toilette für Gäste. Wenn man mit Größeren Gruppen dort essen möchte, dann darf man sich auch beim befreundeten Restaurant Madison direkt gegenüber hinsetzen.

Seit über 10 Jahren gehe ich gerne bei Safran essen. Das Lokal ist zwar gut versteckt, aber wenn man es erstmal gefunden hat, dann möchte man immer wieder kommen. Das Essen schmeckt immer gut, ist bekömmlich und etwas besonderes. Für mich ganz klar eine Instanz in der Oldenburger Gastronomieszene. Ich empfehle jedem mal vorbei zu schauen und wenn ihr nicht direkt wisst was ihr wollt, einfach einen Überraschungsteller zu nehmen!

Mega lecker Tolle Atmosphäre und Gastgeber. Vielleicht ein wenig eng, aber ist wie es ist.

Das Essen ist super lecker. Auch die vegetarischen und veganen Gerichte. Der Inhaber ist total freundlich, berät gut und macht auch individuelle Gerichte, wenn man nett fragt.

Sehr leckere Auswahl mit besonderen Speisen und Getränken. Hier ist für jeden was dabei egal ob vegan oder Vegetarier. Kaffee, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Espresso und Kaffee Crema, hier wird alles angeboten was das Herz begehrt. Süßer Laden mit Sitzgelegenheiten und sehr netter Bedienung sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Pizzen waren falsch belegt, die Preise okay und der Mitarbeiter tiefenentspannt.

Es ist ein winziges Geschäft mit richtig leckerer Küche. Wenn ich wieder in der Nähe bin komme ich wieder. Einfach nur um auszuprobieren was es sonst noch gibt.

Ein ganz unscheinbarer Laden. Auf Empfehlung eines Bekannten waren wir dort Essen und es war wirklich super gut!

Wirklich fantastisches, frisches und lecker gewürztes Essen! Schwere Empfehlung, wenn man Mal in der Oldenburger Innenstadt unterwegs ist. Bloß nicht von der Größe abschrecken lassen, klein aber oho!

Super leckeres Essen, sehr nette Besitzer. Es ist zwar räumlich recht klein, geschmacklich lohnt es sich aber sehr.

Niedlicher kleiner Laden mit tollem Essen (welches man übrigens auch gegenüber im Madison bestellen kann, wenn bei Safran selbst nicht genug Platz ist)!

Eigentlich seit Jahrzehnten total lecker. Auch Kleinigkeiten zu kleinem Preis. Heutzutage 2 lecker Rollo und 2 Krombacher für 32 Euro.... ich empfinde das als teuer....
