Rührberger Hof in Grenzach-Wyhlen

I stayed here from September 20 to 21 and paid €140 for a room. Sleeping was impossible: the hotel’s chef hosted a private party with a DJ on the ground floor. The bass was so loud that rest in my first-floor room was out of the question. I went downstairs twice to ask for the volume to be lowered. Each time, the music was briefly turned down only to be cranked back up within minutes. This shows complete disregard for paying guests. The most basic duty of any hotel is to provide a quiet environment. Here, that obligation was completely ignored. Would not recommend.

Family celebration, great location. The owner and staff were very professional, clean, and accommodating. The food was excellent; quality and taste are second to none. Highly recommended for any occasion.

Our wedding in June at the Rührberger Hof was simply perfect, and we owe that above all to the entire team, and especially to Felix. The service was absolutely excellent from start to finish, and the cuisine far exceeded our expectations. Every dish was a true work of art, and our guests are still raving about it today. Felix supported us with advice and assistance during the planning process and helped us choose the perfect wedding menu. He truly took his time with us and supported us in every way. The Rührberger Hof is not only a beautiful location, but a place where you immediately feel at home and in good hands. We highly recommend this farm and would celebrate our wedding there again anytime. A thousand thanks to the entire team!

As a regular business guest, I'm always delighted by the good hotel and the even better food. As a hotel: Good breakfast with everything you could need. The rooms are also good; I can only speak for the Alpine View rooms, but a little more attention would be needed, for example, with the curtains; they've looked the same for a good two years. Otherwise, there's nothing major to complain about. As a restaurant: Very tasty food, never disappointed! I can single out the Zurich schnitzel as a personal favorite.

I was in Basel for one day and I wanted to get good value for my money. I decided to stay on the German side, and I absolutely can recommend this hotel. The rooms are big, spacious, minimalist design, family run business. The food and drinks were so good... Perfect value for your money, I can only recommend it (car is a must to get there, but parking is free and lots of it).

Not really. On Sunday, August 10, 2025, four of us were very embarrassed just before the shift change, when the store was just reopening. It's a shame. We won't be coming back.

A wonderful, family-run hotel that has recently undergone extensive renovations – everything is modern, stylish, and furnished with great attention to detail. You immediately sense that the work here is done with heart and true passion. The entire staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and always strives to ensure guests have a thoroughly pleasant stay. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent cuisine: the dishes are not only delicious but also lovingly prepared. The service in the restaurant is well-organized and leaves nothing to be desired. An all-round successful stay – we will definitely be back!

A well-deserved 5 stars. The facility is modern and spotlessly clean. The service was impeccable, and the owners and staff were very friendly and eager to accommodate any requests. We also stopped for dinner at their restaurant: the food was delicious.

I only spent one night there, and I noticed the following things. Parking is a bit tight. You might have trouble with a large car. But there is an electric charging station. There's not much in the village itself. However, you shouldn't sleep with the window open, as there's often noise in the middle of the night. The door to my room always made a bang when opened, which seemed to be coming from the hinge. Otherwise, everything you need for an overnight stay is there (towels, soap, shower gel).

Did not sleep here just had dinner. Was invited for supper here up on the top of mountain looking onto Switzerland. Food: the food is tasty however the spaetzle was over cooked and mushy like. This was for both dishes. Schnitzel is made with good ingredients but lacks presentation. Salad: small portion for 8€( expensive) Prices: far too expensive for what you get. Bottle of water almost 7€!! Service: ok, but man what an unfriendly waitress ! Order white wine, got red instead. Took for ages to get the correct wine which was warm. When we commented on this was told the wine bucket with eventually cool it down. Hello why not ensure that it is kept cold before serving! Person just had an aloof and arrogant approach to the work at hand. Took for ages to get eventually get the bill. Fir such an establishment would expect service considering the prices , average of 32€ for a standard meal. Was very disappointed as i had expected better things from this place

Top-notch hotel and restaurant. The hotel offers immaculate rooms and apartments, superbly equipped, and very good value for money. Breakfast was also very good, with a good selection, fresh, and delicious. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed delicious spaetzle with chanterelle mushrooms and a crème brûlée. Top-notch, this was our second time there and we'd love to come back.

Very quiet surroundings. The carpeting in the room is worn, but the room is clean and nicely furnished. The restaurant serves excellent food.

We (only) ate there. GREAT! One negative thing we noticed, however, was that despite temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, we had to order ice for our mineral water and a wine cooler for our white wine separately and wait for them. Ice in mineral water is fine, but a wine cooler for our wine should be a given.

We were a large group. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was very good. I knew the restaurant well—this was my first experience with a large group. I highly recommend it.

A fantastic hotel and restaurant! A bit out of the way, but easily accessible, and of course very quiet! The rooms are first-class, immaculately furnished, and very clean. The restaurant in the evening and the breakfast in the morning were fantastic, very tasty and plentiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!

The food was great. I've been there several times. Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice for vegetarians at first glance. But you can put together something. I would like it if that were more obvious on the menu.

We were invited and had the pleasure of dining at the Rührberger Hof. The food was outstanding! The excellent soup was a perfect start. This was followed by the Chateau Briand, served in two completely different courses, each with its own sauce and different side dishes – a true delight. For dessert, the senior chef treated us to homemade zabaione, the best I've ever had. It was accompanied by very good wine. Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend this restaurant. Welcoming, clean, and excellent food!

Went for lunch for a birthday. Unfortunately the meat was badly burned on one side. The kitchen had turned it to the burnt side. Otherwise everything was delicious but at a fairly high price. The restaurant has been very nicely reserved.

A very good upper class restaurant, with corresponding prices. However, definitely in line with the performance. Very good food, extremely decorative, imaginatively presented and still decent portions. A very nice wine list with a wide selection of delicacies from abroad, domestic and regional. The staff is extremely friendly, well trained and very competent.

We spent 2 nights in this charming hotel. The family room we occupied was perfect. Beautiful large bedroom with shower and bath. A large sofa bed and 1 double bed. Excellent breakfast and warm, welcoming staff. The evening meal at the restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed the tranquility of this small village 10 minutes from Basel. Address to advise.

The maisonette apartment was very nice, modern, very spacious, functionally furnished, clean. Everything you needed was there. You are quite high up on the Schüttberg, a very nice area, quiet. You can get to Basel quickly.

We were here as a Restaurant visitor a group of 8 persons. The service is super nice and kind. The portion were big and it was a good quality. The invironment is super amazing with a lot of wood. Booking via booking is easy. Rooms well air conditioned. Clean. Bathroom okay. Breakfast buffet, possible on the terrace. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs we ordered never arrived. Too bad. Otherwise everything is okay

We stopped in as a stopover on an overnight trip. Reception by senior boss and boss personally on the property; we announced each other by telephone. Room check-in was easy, the bureaucracy was handled on the second train, completely in peace. Perfect rooms that are very harmoniously furnished and of a very high standard. Afterwards dinner of the highest quality, mega!🤝😊. Very good meal, very good drinks and an attractive atmosphere. Here, we also value conversations with the family. We slept very well and had a really good, filling breakfast to round it off in the morning. Thank you to the family and the whole team for a perfect stay with you. Keep it up, you're great🤝👍😊

Room was clean, spacious and had everything you need. Unfortunately, at dinner in the hotel's own restaurant there was very little choice and very high prices. Even if it's the border with Switzerland, 30€/schnitzel with fries without salad is a lot ;-). Unfortunately, the breakfast was also very “okay” for the price. You're used to something different there. The hotel is surrounded by greenery, so it's in a very nice location. Service was nice too! There are enough parking spaces available.

Restaurant: We can highly recommend the restaurant! - The service was extremely pleasant, not intrusive but always present. - The rooms inside, very well maintained, tastefully decorated. - The only critical note: With this type of restaurant, you would expect fly screens on the windows. We had around 27 flies as partners at the meal...

Our family room was very good size, modern and very clean. Breakfast -great variety of food to choose from-everything fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere.

Very nice and super spacious family room, with a large bathroom, located in a quiet location. Wonderful for an overnight stay after a day of driving and much better than such a large hotel chain. On the way there we spent the night at the Mövenpick 4-star hotel Egerkingen. There the family room was much smaller, and without air conditioning. This is much more 4 stars as far as I'm concerned. Sleeping for the children on a sofa bed was no problem. Breakfast included and good attention to not too much waste and healthy products. Also had dinner in the restaurant, excellent dishes and ample quantities. Very attentive staff and service overall!

It's a very nice hotel, perfect for a family stay. The breakfast and cleanliness are meticulously maintained. The hotel is run by a husband and wife, and the staff is warm and friendly. You won't regret staying here. I want to thank them for their hospitality.

We stayed at the Hotel Schütterberger Hof for one night, very comfortable room, air conditioning in the room and balcony. The view was great. The breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. Check in and out very easy.

For the third time we stayed at the Schüttbergerhof, and this time too everything was perfect. The room and bathroom were clean, the breakfast and dinner rounded off our stay positively.

Short break at the Schüttbergerhof: We arrived on the rest day “Monday” and were warmly welcomed by an employee. The senior manager cooks personally on the rest days for its hotel guests and in top quality - 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Breakfast buffet the next morning with everything that goes with it including scrambled or fried eggs - perfect - so the day can start. The next evening we had guests from Switzerland and the menu more or less tried almost everything: every dish freshly prepared and one star each ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There were also great wines We will come again and enjoy the great hospitality Thank you for the 3 days

Lunch. Good cuisine, generous portions, reasonable prices. There's nothing to complain about there. The product concept with home-made dishes and end products that reach the guest is truly noticeably good on the palate. Service is friendly.

As always, the food was excellent. However, the mood of the service staff was not. Already yawned through the phone when making the reservation. Took the order incorrectly and rolled his eyes and groaned at the complaint. I'm actually used to it differently here.

Great hotel, looks recently refurbished all décor is modern. Room was comfortable with air conditioning and a comfortable bed. Evening meal was excellent and the restaurant seems to be used by locals as it was quite full. Location is very quiet and away from the larger towns which is exactly what we were after.

The room is perfect—it's spacious, loft-style, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, from pots and pans to dishes. It feels just like a home. I'm not sure what type of room it is, but at 138 euros per night, it's definitely worth it and highly recommended. It's a tranquil place, but you'll need a car to get around as the hotel is located in the middle of the mountains. The hotel owner is incredibly nice and friendly. When my friends and I needed to catch an early Sunday morning flight, and the bus wasn't running, they even drove us to the airport. It was such an amazing gesture, it almost brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Germany!

Nice hotel with super delicious food. We had a lovely holiday apartment directly opposite the hotel. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast in the hotel was very good and left nothing to be desired. The dinner (Zürcher Geschnetzeltes) also tasted excellent. The boss was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

Room and especially bathroom, a bit small for two people. Very clean, beds good. Slightly noisy, typical of a hotel. Seems remote, but in a good location both in terms of scenery and traffic.

We really enjoy coming there very often. At our wedding a few years ago, when we stayed there overnight, we were able to get to know the Schüttberger Hof. Since then we have enjoyed coming there every now and then, despite the long journey, because the restaurant is simply beautiful. It's very quiet, the food is fabulous, the service is top, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here. :-)

We always enjoy the delicious food. Have never been disappointed. Every now and then we spend the night there even though we are from Basel, it doesn't matter. Everything is always great. A big compliment to the Düster family, you're doing everything right... next time we're looking forward to Easter Sunday...

The food was very tasty and came very quickly even though it was very busy. The ambience is also very tastefully and harmoniously furnished. I would give a full 5 stars for that. Unfortunately some of the deer was tough and I had to bury it in the napkin. This is not a bad thing at all and can happen from time to time. Since I didn't want the waitress to have to pick up my "dirty" napkin with the chewed meat, I put it in the plate. While clearing up, an older lady called my attention to me in a very didactic, almost condescending tone: “I shouldn't have done that” and made me feel very bad as a guest. In principle you are right, that cloth napkins do not belong on the plate, but in such a didactic tone towards the guest who leaves a lot of money for food is not appropriate for me and it wouldn't have surprised me if the napkin was left on the invoice would have appeared.
