Unfortunately, the food was not as good as the reviews said. The meat was too dry, rice pudding was not appetizing. And for that, I paid almost 90€ for the buffet.

Spice alert! Just had dinner at Royal Indian Bonn Restaurant and wow — 10/10 would eat again. Everything was bursting with flavor, from the creamy curries to the fluffy naan (which we shamelessly used to scoop up every last drop). Bonus: I brought my Turkish friend who had never tried Indian food before — he’s officially obsessed now. Pretty sure he’s planning a second visit without me. Friendly vibes, amazing food, no notes. If you’re in Bonn and craving something with soul and spice, this is the spot.

We were there today around 2:30 p.m. and wanted to order something from the menu. The friendly waitress recommended the lunch buffet, which offers two types of rice, four different vegetables, three chicken specialties, as well as salad and a dessert. We really enjoyed it!

After university, I often meet up with my sister here to enjoy and relax together. The buffet offers something for every taste: crisp salads, hearty soups, various types of rice, delicious chicken dishes as well as delicious vegetarian and vegan alternatives. As soon as you enter, you feel completely at home - the culturally inspired ambience is warm, stylish and inviting. A place to arrive and enjoy! The team is particularly noteworthy: The employees are not only attentive and helpful, but also warm and friendly - you immediately feel like you are in good hands.

Royal India is somewhat hidden in Bonn. Through a colorful hallway with paneling depicting various major cities you reach the main room and it will be India!!! Whether all you can eat from the buffet or a la carte you can be impressed by the Indian culinary art, my adventure began with a chai & an excellent selection at the buffet delighted my taste buds!!! Whether vegetarian or vegan, everyone will find happiness here!!! On Sundays and public holidays the choice of food is very large, there is even an event room so that you can enjoy your birthday and wedding in an Indian atmosphere!!! Favorite Indian, check ;)

We went there because of the positive reviews and an exceptionally high rating, but were very disappointed with the quality of the food and value for money. We both had a chicken mango for €16 per dish. We waited about 40 minutes before being served, and how disappointed we were to discover the quantity of food for this price: only 7 pieces of chicken in a sauce that tasted bland and industrial like curry, with a vague taste of mango. Quite an unpleasant experience: not only was the food not good, but also the waiters seemed bothered to serve us.

Spontaneous visit on a holiday evening. Friendly reception, unfortunately it was only explained late that there was only a buffet. After that everything went smoothly: huge selection, lots of vegetarian options, everything was very tasty - from pani puri to butter chicken. Buffet was a bit used but ok. Prices fair (€25 per person), service friendly, but could have been more attentive. Open, clean kitchen, authentic ambience with many Indian guests. Recommendation from an Indian friend – and rightly so! We'd love to come back.

We spontaneously went out for dinner on Friday evening. Because of the holiday there was only a buffet. We ate the small buffet, where you go to the delicious and very varied buffet once. We were very full and tried a lot of dishes. The service was great and the price was also very good. Any time. Thank you for the great evening

We can only agree with those who have eaten there and who cannot understand the many good reviews here. Went there in the middle of the afternoon without a reservation and had classics, including butter chicken. Definitely the worst thing I've ever eaten in an Indian restaurant, and comparatively expensive at that. Can you save yourself...

So I thought it was bombastic!!! The staff is just nice and if you ask you can get it. It varies in spiciness.😀 You can see the kitchen! It's beautifully designed! Also beautifully designed for Easter! The mango lassi is nice but nice is not an expression, it is perfect!!!😎🎊🫶🐭🙈

We followed the positive experiences and were absolutely disappointed. First of all, the lady from the service was unfortunately not informed about what vegan meant, even though the entire menu I was referring to was vegan, so she almost served a non-vegan drink, despite being assured that it was vegan. (Any further questions were of course not answered) In general, every request degenerated into a “discussion” because the lady unfortunately didn't quite speak the language and then served us something we didn't order, but also showed no willingness to receive support from colleagues. In our opinion the food was absolutely mediocre and very bland. So: The ambience was ok, the play area for children was a huge plus (although very, very unclean), but the food wasn't great and the service was subpar (resignation due to a lack of communication instead of expression of wishes is the order of the day on the part of the customer). Not worth another visit for us.

The Bufay is absolutely amazing with lot of dishes from north and south India varieties. Must try is Punjabi chicken curry with rajma Pulao..

I was asked to come back on a Sunday to take pictures for the restaurant as a photographer. In addition, I still had at least two hours of travel time, and the manager also knew this. The managing director then wanted to offer me an insignificant double-digit fee. In his opinion, you don't get more than €50 for 6 hours of on-site presence and 1-2 hours of follow-up work. Under no circumstances should you fall for the scam club! Don't do any work for them without already getting a hard advance otherwise you'll end up leaving with nothing 😌👍🏼

Unfortunately, I wasn't all that impressed. I didn't like the ambiance; it seemed very kitschy. There was a set of cutlery on our table without a napkin; it wasn't cleared away; they just replaced it with a napkin. I found the cutlery a bit unpleasant, and my hands smelled strongly of metal a little later. We ate from the buffet, but there wasn't anything there that I really enjoyed. I like Indian food, but unfortunately, this restaurant didn't win me over. There's a restaurant with the same name in a neighboring town, and I really like the food there.

I went to this place with a friend of mine about a week ago. We decided to go there due to the positive reviews it had. But what a disappointment we ended up having. We ordered two plates of chicken curry mango and since we were very hungry we expected something big. Very few portions, the food was also very salty, and when we finished eating the waitress literally threw us out of the restaurant. Definitely not recommended. We felt robbed and mistreated from the staff since the moment we got in. Please do yourself a favour and go somewhere else!

Great friendly service. We went for "all you can eat". Taste of the food was good. Non vegetarian ,all 3 dishes were chicken. Another option could have been better. Mango lassi met my expectation.,,👍

Excellent Indian lunch with family. We had lunch here as a family with our one-year-old daughter and absolutely loved it! The selection of food was completely sufficient and the taste was a real treat for the palate - a wonderful insight into Indian cuisine and culture. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly, so we felt completely at home. We were also impressed by the ambience – cozy and inviting. We will definitely come back and can only recommend this restaurant!

We have been guests at the Royal India several times. The food and service are always very good. Recommended!!!

We came spontaneously on Saturday evening without a reservation and the five of us still got a table. We received a very friendly welcome and the staff were generally very friendly and attentive. A large selection of vegetarian dishes too. We enjoyed all the dishes very much and the Garlic Naan is particularly recommended! Unfortunately, my drink wasn't brought at the end and I sat there dry for a while, which I found a bit of a shame. Otherwise, we were happy with our visit and will definitely come back again!

The sauces are thin, and the restaurant feels very DIY and improvised. The butter chicken tastes vaguely like a Vienna sausage, and the sheer number of good reviews is inexplicable to me. Interestingly, only the most recent reviews are negative.

Good food and nice waiters, but be sure to ask for the bill! I ate for 36 euros and paid 47 euros (plus tip, of course). Unfortunately, it was only discovered afterwards based on the online menu.

The food wasn't tasty. The meat wasn't cooked through. Service wasn't nice and just said that it can be that way and is normal because of the way the chicken is cut. I exchanged it after questions. Then another vegetarian dish came without asking, even though we wanted to exchange it for another chicken dish. Unfortunately we didn't like it. We also paid the 'normal' price. The reviews here are therefore incomprehensible to me. We went because of the good reviews. There are definitely better places.

This is not how real Indian food tastes.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Good reviews, but not consistent with reality. The chicken was undercooked and therefore unfortunately not edible. We wanted to exchange it but were told it was normal. Afterwards we got something else with lentils without being asked if we wanted to eat it. Not recommended.

I went here because of the good reviews and location. Had a chai, vegetable samosas and chicken korma. The chai was probably the highlight of the food I had that evening 8/10. In terms of consistency and other aspects, the samosas were most likely convenience or deep-frozen and simply warmed up somehow. But they were still okay with the sauces that came with them. So a 6/10. But I was most disappointed with the chicken korma. It mainly tasted like cream with a bit of spice, but not as particularly aromatic as you would expect from Indian cuisine. Some of the chicken also tasted really strange. Then I stopped and had it packed up. I haven't eaten it to this day because I ended up in the hospital with bloody diarrhea - or Campylonacter jejuni as it turned out later - 1/10 Thank you Royal India The only thing I can conclude is that a lot of these reviews are bought or people have genuinely forgotten what really good food is. Because overall ratings of 4.8 on Google with 1100 reviews are very blatant and very rare. And with this meal, I can't for the life of me imagine that this was achieved without bots. But this is just a personal theory and everyone should form their own opinion. I reiterate that what I wrote 100% happened. Huge tip: If the menu has 100 dishes that are all different: It's better to go to another restaurant.

Were there today for the lunch buffet. The selection was manageable. The taste was very unseasoned and there was no spiciness. We would have liked at least one dish with spiciness. Bread was brought to the table. The whole service was very friendly.
