I was encouraged to visit The Royal Indian from previous reviews on TripAdvisor, especially as they had come from fellow Brits. We know our curry. It was the best curry I have had outside of the UK. I was delighted to also meet the owner, a lovely lady from New Delhi who told me this is the second restaurant she has opened in Germany. The service was unbelievably quick and I demolished the curry (I had chicken tikka masala with a request of making it hotter, onion bhaji and garlic naan) with two lovely pints of Paulaner. And then I had some ice cream. Yum yum. Sadly my mate who I was travelling with had a touch of the man-flu so was unable to join me. He’ll be gutted in the morning when I regale my tale.

Walking through Augsburg and already a little fed up with so much meat we saw this Indian and it was a total success, small quiet with some good menus in terms of quantity and flavor, very delicious chicken with mango. Place near the station, very simple but pleasant and above all with good food.

This Indian restaurant, which is impressive in terms of the ambience alone, is located in a very beautiful building. A beautiful, stylish interior welcomes the guest and friendly staff welcomes, advises and serves professionally, customer-oriented and motivated. The food is more than exceptional, from the starter to the rich salad, the main course to the dessert, everything is of high quality and goodness. Our first night in Germany and we went for Indian food! Maybe not such a good idea as the grilled chicken starter was horrifically salty. I could hardly eat it. My husband had a lamb main which was delicious and I had butter chicken - big mistake! It was so unbearably salty - as if the chef had spilt the salt in it. Unlike any butter chicken I have ever had before. My husband shared his lamb sauce with me and we got through it. The rice was good. Friendly lady in charge of restaurant. She said she would tell the chef the food was salty. Hmmm I can cook better Indian cuisine at home than we had here. Very disappointing. We were the only customers eating in there.

Very good Indian in Augsburg. I've had chicken tikka masala several times, which is highly recommended. This time the vegetarian dish Rishi Thali: * incl. Nan bread, rice and salad * 3 veg. I ate a vegan thali (= 6 different vegetable dishes) for 2 people twice. One dish was better than the other. Terrific!!! Price-performance ratio was also right. The service was very friendly. I can only recommend this Indian restaurant.

I waited 50 minutes for delivery for fried chicken noodles. They were lukewarm. Cost: €16.90 (!) for one portion. We don't need to talk about portion size, right? I think pictures say it all. The fact that the tiny bowl wasn't even completely full is actually a disgrace. You won't find any vegetables or any other creative ingredients in this dish. In terms of taste, it's just okay, deliciously seasoned, but without any unique selling point. I didn't expect much, but I was still disappointed. I won't order here again. It's a shame that you're telling your customers something like that.

The menu offers a wide range of Indian dishes. The food was very good. The level of spiciness is queried and is correct. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the service was also very good.

Visited on a Saturday night during a trip to Augsburg for Euros. The food was absolutely fantastic & the service even better. Staff were lovely - not invasive at all and no hard sell. It is also a beautiful restaurant ( up about 7 or 8 stairs but manageable and I use a walking stick) We had two mains with rice & naan, 2 diet cokes for. €42 - excellent value. If you are in Augsbirg, we would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect, very good Indian food.

Unfortunately, the Royal India couldn't really convince us. We had the vegetable pakora as a starter which was really tasty and I couldn't fault it. Unfortunately, things are a little different with the main courses. We once had the Channa Masala (which here has an almond sauce), as well as an eggplant dish (which I couldn't find on the menu online so don't know the name) and two naan. The channa was more of a soup than a gravy and had hardly any flavor other than a slight spiciness. The second dish, which was marked as 'strongly spiced' on the menu, also only had a bit of heat and not much else. The naan could also have tasted like more - there were just a few leaves of arugula scattered on it. All in all, we were really disappointed with the taste here. And unfortunately I can't agree with the many very good reviews here.

Simply great! The chicken at Butter Chicken was nice and soft and there was plenty of food for the price. But I almost liked the staff the most! There were always jokes and good topics of conversation. I would definitely recommend it :)

Ordered for delivery , with a note to make it Indian style spicy but really disappointed. I really loved the food here initially when it was opened but now day by day the quality is degrading. The food was just Okay now.

Went there spontaneously for lunch today. The food was very good, unfortunately not very hot, just lukewarm, but it still tasted great. Had lamb with coriander and chickpeas, as well as duck and a delicious naan It's great that you can decide the level of spiciness for each dish yourself. I had the lamb mild and for me it was slightly spicy but very tasty Staff very nice and accommodating

Food and service all very good. Unfortunately everything is a little more expensive than comparable restaurants that deliver the same quality.

We wanted to go out for a spontaneous meal with 6 people, which isn't that easy these days. A simple call was enough and we got a table on a Saturday evening. The waiter was very friendly and was always up for a joke. He entertained us very well. The food was also very good and sufficient! Thank you for this lovely evening. We originally wanted to go to a pizzeria that probably no longer existed there. We then decided to go to this Indian place and it was the best decision. The owner is super nice to the customers. A few little jokes here and there. The way the food is served is also great. It also tasted excellent and is definitely worth a second visit.

We order there regularly and the food is always fantastic! Our recommendation: the curry - spicy, but not too spicy. The coriander note gives the dish a great freshness.

Definitely recommend this restaurant. The food is not too bad - and one of the better restaurants in Augsburg however not the best i tried in Germany. However a bit hard to find the restaurant. Maybe it needs a bit more prominent signs

Das Curry hat nicht schlecht geschmeckt, aber auch nicht gut. Der Reis war leider teilweise roh. Ansonsten Mittelmaß. Gibt bessere und schlechtere Inder in Augsburg.

Went there two times for lunch. Food was okish, not really interesting taste wise and looked suspiciously like food coloring. There are better Indian options in Augsburg. Staff was friendly, food arrived fast and atmosphere is fine.

I love Indian food and many times I went there. Last time I ate vegetarian Thali. I love it. And service is very good.

Royal India war für uns eine Überraschung. Drinnen ist es sehr gemütlich. Die Bedienung ist sehr gut. Das Ambiente ist sehr nett!! Und "last but not least" das Essen war perfekt! Royal India kann ich ohne weiteres weiter empfehlen.

Not worth for money. Expensive. Never try sea food items not at all fresh & schrimps are rubbery & taste bad. Lot of added food color. Roti is okay. I hope they can come with a good quality of food.

Authentic Indian restaurant in Augsburg..after arriving from India and eating sandwiches all day u have a craving for Indian food and this restaurant serves just that. I tried the non veg thali one day and dal tadka next day. Both were superb. Their butter Nan is one of the best I have ever had. The host Ms. Nidhi is a wonderful person makes u feel at home. Would highly recommend. Cheers.

Chili Chicken ist der Burner. Feuerlöscher in der Nähe lagern, ist echt scharf.

"Vorsichtig, sehr lecker!" sind Worte von unseren Kellner. Recht hat er gehabt, das Essen schmeckt unnormal gut. Sehr lustige und freundliche Bedienung, meine Freundin und ich hatten so viel Spaß. So eine nette Erfahrung, wir werden immer wieder kommen!

Leckeres, reichhaltiges Essen. Schnelle Bedienung, das Personal gab mir unmittelbar das Gefühl, die ersehnte Kundin zu sein. Lustig war es außerdem. Ich kann Royal India guten Gewissens empfehlen.

Na ja, ganz okay. Das männliche Servicepersonal ist nicht wirklich freundlich. Dir Suppe war okay, das Hauptgericht auch. Ich würde sagen, dass es 2,5 Sterne sind.

10/10! very authentic Indian food -had it after long time, excellent service and delicious food. Paneer Milai methi, dal makhni, fish tikka were excellent. Keema naan was also excellent. Would like to come back! You should cater our party next time.

Wir waren heute ganz spontan in der Stadt und haben uns ebenso spontan für ein spätes Mittagessen dort nieder gelassen. Die Lage mitten in der sehr geschäftigen Bahnhofstraße ist nicht ganz das Highlight, ist allerdings akzeptabel. Jedoch war die ausgesprochen nette Bedienung mit ihrer ruhigen, freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Art überaus lobenswert. Genauso gilt dies für das Essen: wir hatten 2 vegetarische Gerichte ausgewählt. Eines mit Paneer, ein anderes mit Kartoffeln. Beide Gerichte wurden eingeleitet mit einer tomatigen Gemüsesuppe und danach begleitet von Basmatireis und Naanbrot (extra bestellt). Beide Gerichte hatten eine angenehme Schärfe und eine schöne sämige Sauce. Als Desserts gab es eine MangoCreme, die ebenfalls sehr lecker war. Wir haben noch während des Essens Pläne geschmiedet, mit wem wir erneut zu einem Besuch in das Royal India kommen möchten.

Very authentic Indian food. The taste is incredible, we asked for the food to be very spicy and the chef did just that. The masala has so much flavor in my fish curry, the only thing was, I wish the fish would've been fried without battering it before putting it in the masala. And the basmati rice is also full of flavor. Our waitress Nidhi is very nice, friendly, and helpful. We wanted to go back one more time to eat the lunch menu, but didn't have time as we had to leave Augsburg. Sorry Nidhi, we couldn't come back to say goodbye!
